Decent hostel. Bathroom is not very clean, beds are okay. Nothing amazing.

+ The hostel is okay. The common room is quite spacious. Lots of plugs (USB, so you don't need an adaptator if you're not from the UK). The neighborhood is really calm and very quick access to the DLR station (Limehouse).

- The air inside the room was really humid and the walls were moist.. The private bathroom inside the room was not as clean as the public ones.

Nice place with a nice atmosphere but in a bad location, noisy trucks just outside the window and in a rather sketchy part of town

I have never interacted with the most uncooperative inconsiderate jerks in my life since dealing with the limehouse hostel, the employees and managers are useless at their jobs. And are just terrible people in general. Honestly they have f****ed me around for months now, and I have been so patience and pilot and respectful to them the entire time. They didn't deserve that treatment, they deserve to be treated like the dogs they are.

Not the best of hostels,you get what you pay for but not amused seeing male member of staff yelling at female customer because she complained about being HARRASSED. This male "paying customer" was allowed to stay after HARRASSING 2 women.Dont expect a sleep,a cleaner finds it funny to shake your bed and shout extnexten,when you have paid. Stay no longer than 28 days. Bedding clean.. some nice staff. Not the place to bring young children. The hostels focus is on group bookings ,so would be great for a stay when booking from schools. After you have stayed,you are banned for 3 months to come back,

Was actually pretty good, clean beds, good enough dining area. Staff are a little unhelpful but overall it's pretty good. There was no tp in the toilet though, but to be fair we didn't ask them to replace it.

Clean. Free WiFi. Outlets at each bed. Good showers.

Quite ok to stay overnight. But a penetrating grass smell came towards me when I opened the windows each time

Smells weird and feels like a prison with all the aggressive rules posters everywhere.

Great WiFi. The best I have ever experienced in my travels. Some say home is where WiFi connects automatically. In my opinion, when you are away from home, and you need a very good Internet connection to speak to family and upload your pictures, home, cannot be closer to the hostel you are staying in.

Not a five-star but not even a 2.9 of average: rooms for 12 may be bigger and one drawer per person wouldn't be bad. East End is not a vacation place but is way within the city and, in this area, this is a good accomodation. Public spaces are nice and the staff very gentle

Great hostel for your money. Clean, quiet, comfortable and beautiful. 40 minutes walk from the center. Near shops to buy food and drink. Bicycles for hire. Normal area.

In booking it seemed very nice and clean but upon arrival it was not so. There was a strong smell like hospital and the room and bathroom very dirty.

Hello, we are here with the school as a graduation trip. This is the worst accommodation we have ever experienced. If we could we would award minussterne. We did not have high expectations, but the reality has broken everything. Here are a few shortcomings: 1. With a few rooms sat people in the room, as was not checked if there was checked out. 2. The cleanliness is catastrophic, mold and hair in the showers, scraps of food in the drain, chewed gum and contact lenses, toothbrushes in the room, cum spots on the matzo and forgotten TShirts with sperm and holes in the bed, holes in the windows and in the floor , dirty plates and trays at breakfast. 3. Theft in several rooms and open doors. 4. very small rooms, but that is the smallest evil. Conclusion: Even with low expectations, it is difficult to endure here!

I didn't Like it! Tony room, no wifi connection working well and the kitchen was not available to use! Neither a fridge to Store our food! Although receptionists attention was good, I dont recommend it!

Very friendly staff and room was clean, comfy and as described. Only downside was the metal frames of the beds were a little shaky which made it hard not to disturb other guests when getting to my bunk. Aside from. That the large communal area is clean, well maintained and well equipped. Couldn't fault for the price or location.

the Hostel was ok, but there is a little concern that I had regarding my students: There was a girl named Camila and an Italian guy named Maurizio Loi selling drugs inside the Hostel, which I do believe that should be stopped by the manager.

Booking was a little mixed up was supposed to have a bathroom on the side but didn't so had to use the communal ones. However, the people there were kind and very helpful and the bathroom situation wasn't too bad in the end.

Absolute humility. The rooms are hardly walkable and partly not even equipped with a toilet. The shared showers are under all sow, as they are almost never cleaned and are still residues of its predecessors to recognize. The same is true for the rest of the toilets. In our room the windows were broken, which made it impossible for us to close and a large part of the sockets did not work. So if you are traveling with your school, rather run and try your luck under a bridge. Unfortunately you can not give 0 stars.

Very bad experience. Rude staff, poor cleaning, poor breakfast, poorly attended place. You can find everything, drunks, drug dealers. We were in a room with no windows, tight as chickens in battery, we were forced to sleep with the door open and we shared the room with a disturbing type. I don't recommend it.

Nice hostel with good value for money. Breakfast is a bit too simple but anyway it s good.

Good service and much better than expected, rooms with bathroom and kitchen for customers

BEWARE!!!! I stayed there from 4th June to 6th June 2016, in a 9-bed room for both men and women.
I woke up the 6th at about 8.30 am and found out that all of my money, my mobile phone, and even my Oyster card was stolen.
Staff called the police like ONCE but since they didn't reply I had to physically walk to the police and ask them to come.

Moreover, the hostel staff were not supportive in my opinion and refused to refund me the night stating "it is not our policy".

Actually, I am firmly convinced that the thieves were the Italian men sharing the room with me. All of them checked out that very same morning - police obviously didn't investigate that much, notwithstanding my suspects (but that's another matter).

So, long story made short:
- no security or camera and staff was not really helpful.

I am afraid that something worse could have happened to me or could happen to anyone hosted there and they would have no chance to identify criminals or offer support.

I'd only recommend it if you're alone and looking for something cheap, or you're groups of 4s and can get a full room all together

Ok where to begin.

This review is kinda late seeing how I stayed here September 2018 but I felt the need to write a review.

Warning: this is long

So I had to book a last minute place to stay in London because I got tickets to the BTS concert literally the week before and anywhere close by was either fully booked or super expensive.

And after searching for some time I find Via Limehouse.

I booked through a secondary website (if that makes sense) for a single private room.
All is fine...

Then I arrive and I am being told firstly that my room is not a single private room but shared with 6! other people and that second I didn't pay.

So I had to wait an additional 1 hour in reception just to be told I had paid all along. The receptionist gave me some attitude but feeling "sorry" for me tries to do me a "favour" and move me to a 4 people room instead. I thought ok fine whatever.

BIG MISTAKE

Not only was the room all guys, so me (a girl) was stuck with 3 other guys but these guys were smelly and one slept practically naked. And everytime I came into the room these guys were always asleep/lying down and they kept acting as if I was disturbing them. I guess they didn't expect to see a female and just got really awkward.

It kinda annoyed me because I would think that the receptionist would notice that she 8s about to book me into a room with all guys. To top it off, an all girls room was sooo much more expensive...like!?! I'm paying more to stay in a room because I personally would prefer staying with females.

Now the showers...

GOD ALMIGHTY FATHER

I have never been more disgusted in my life. The showers looked has if they have never been cleaned. I didn't want to touch anything at all. I barely showered the days I stayed there.
The toilets as well were awful and people made such a mess but it was never cleaned.

I was so close to going down to reception asking for their cleaning stuff and cleaning the whole showers myself. NOTE These showers and toilets were shared with a whole floor of guys.

The thing is I swear I was booked onto a floor for guys because during my entire stay I was the only girl on my floor. And it made me feel so uncomfortable. Not only did guys walk around in just their underwear, I was given weird looks, like I was disturbing them with my presence. I don't freak out when seeing a Male body but at the same time it isn't the most comfortable thing to experience.

Because of needing to leave early in the morning to get to the venue and finishing late at night I never got the chance to speak to reception to sort this out.

I really has such a horrible stay and I would never ever go there again. I would rather pay tons of money for a better place.

This review is late but because BTS are coming back again in June and I looking through accommodation, seeing Via limehouse brought back war flashbacks.

THIS IS MY OWN EXPERIENCE BUT IN MY OPINION TRY SOMEWHERE ELSE FIRST

Particular place ... The hostel is clean but the area where it is located is best avoided especially if you are alone. Walking around at night is not recommended.

Very cheap, not very clean, but right next to the subway, and with breakfast (none, but it's nice that there is)

Price / performance ratio is correct, but it can be a little louder at night when school classes stay overnight. We had a twin room with private shower and toilet. Small but clean. The double bed was on rolls and quite narrow, as a "non-couple" a bit too narrow :)
Conclusion: to stay perfectly fine, the staff was very friendly and helpful.

I stayed over a weekend that was incredibly warm in London due to Hurricane Ophelia and yet the radiators were on throughout the hostel. The pictures of the rooms? I don't know what hostel those photos are from because this was cramped with small rooms with no room to open the ensuite door never mind get changed in the room. The desk staff were rude and abrupt, I work in customer service myself I understand it is stressful but to basically bark information at your customers was just poor.

Good location but it was fairly dirty in the showers and bathrooms.

Right off a major line just a few stops away from everything. No amazing food around the corner that I found, but not a very far walk away to some great eats.

If you're looking for a place to just stay over night when traveling, I would recommend it anytime, I must say great service at Limehouse, Zuber the guy at the front desk is a really cool guy and the staff are very friendly.

Very bad experience! The manager uses rogue methods. Very bad faith and dishonesty in person. I had booked and paid for 4 nights. I warned him by email that I could not be present the first day.
He completely canceled all the resa by cashing the money, WITHOUT warning !! I introduced myself and he kicked me out with a simple "I'm sorry" Lousy !!

Awful. The deluxe room I was staying in had a damp floor and terrible echoes. Drunken revellers kept disturbing my sleep to urinate. I was splashed frequently and in some cases I believe quite deliberately.

Small, tight rooms with 3 person bunk beds. No private sanitary facilities in most rooms. Fairly simple but good breakfast.

It's a rather horrible and filthy place full of shady characters in a poor London neighborhood. The Via Hostel in Lewisham (just across the river) is a better option if you're on a budget.

The place is cheap but very basic.
It's located close to the bricklane but thats all the good things i can say about it.
It seems like a homeless shelter and its really dirty. The staff is not really friendly nor helpful. I wouldnt recommend this place

By far the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We rented a locker but ended up not feeling the need to use it for our personal belongings. Forgotten toiletries and towels and such could be purchased cheaply at the desk. Only complaints were nighttime noise levels outside, and misplaced expectations of the purchaseable breakfast being hot bacon and eggs. Would definitely stay again.

hard matras, uncleaned room, cockroaches in the floor overall a bad experience

Photos on the internet do not reflect reality, very dirty, all types of hair everywhere. Tenants in the room leave a lot to be desired (we came across a man who slept in jeans, did not wash himself and smoked cigarettes and all sorts of things ... we were forced to inhale such aroma mixtures all night). Definitely too small rooms for such a large number of 3-bunk beds. The room could be suffocated by the lack of any free space. It is better to pay extra and sleep in a dignified place than to bother throughout the stay. I heartily recommend it.

The hostel is dirty, so that even the most intimate person comes to its limits. On the floor there are hairs of all the residents of the room who were there in front of you. The bed linen is partially soiled with blood and other dirt. The bunk beds are extremely shaky and seem to almost collapse with every small movement. Also the bathroom is full of hair on the floor and especially in the shower. A big flaw is also the window, which you can neither open nor close. Cold air moves into the rooms all night long and you have no way to keep warm.
A final point is also breakfast. That there is only toast and muesli is fine, but the dishes are so dirty that you are not able to put any of it in your mouth once it was on the plate.

I think it's a shame that many of the reviews for this hostel just want to turn it down, so nobody ever even gets the idea to set foot in here again. What is positive about the Histel and why you should also consider choosing this for your stay in London as your place to stay, I will explain in the following: .................... .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ................................................

Rooms far too small and poorly maintained but the meals are more than adequate

We stayed here for two nights as a group and had booked out a six bed dorm. The staff were generally friendly and our room dash clean. The room was a little like being in a sauna however, presumably heating up during the day and not cooling More

Unprofessional staff, I was waiting to check in for approximately 30 minutes before someone came to help me. They then tried to charge me an extra 50% of my room cost.

Room small but acceptable but cleanliness under all sow, all are not directly visible are completely dirty, leftovers in the hallway and rooms are around, even after complaints is not properly cleaned and the air in the bathroom you can not breathe because the cleaning specialist much too has used a lot of disinfectant. Their solution was a tin febreze, at least the WLAN works

Would never stay here again, mold is everywhere, cleaning is not done properly. Public and private bathrooms are too dirty for words. I think the cleaning ladies' motto is: the more chlorine you throw on it, the 'cleaner' it becomes. So you will certainly get a headache. The bunk beds are not securely attached to the wall, so you sometimes wake up with a loose screw next to your head. The walls are very thin so you can hear every noise even from your neighbor three rooms away. I won't expect too much from breakfast, toast with jam. You can also take the dirty dishes from the cupboard yourself.

Perhaps the only positive thing about this hostel is the location. But I myself will never be there again, because I had an allergic reaction because of all that mold and have been in bed with a sore and swollen throat for a week now.

Location is good, but this hostel is totally unclean. Floor has not seen any vacuum cleaner for ages. Kitchen, bathrooms and toilets were stinky, filthy and generally disgusting. Sorry to say this, but the staff completely does not care about hygiene in this place.

This is the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. Our bathroom is full of mold, the bedding was dirty, we had no room in the room because it was so tight and with 9 people put in a room the breakfast today was just Kelloggs and toasted bread with butter as spread

very well organized hostel with rooms offering different solutions. Abundant breakfast. acceptable cleaning. connected well with the center.

The hostel has a nice common area and is well priced. The rooms are small and packed in but clean and functional. Could be more bathrooms. Check out at 10am. Cooking facilities good, only stayed one night so can't comment further.

If you are really desperate for a nights stay, Limehouse would do. It's crammed, hot, and the wifi is extremely spotty. I wouldn't recommend this hostel to anyone traveling through London. The front desk people are very nice and it's moderately clean.

Front receptionist Thomas was as rude as could be! There was a guy earlier, around 1pm-2pm that was ALOT nicer. Asked "Thomas" what could be done since room was a sauna and he did not care about what we wanted. Very bad service! Back in America, people like this get fired!!!!

The rooms were dirty and small. The food was underground !! All in all not a good hostel !!

Hygienically a 5 but if you are not pienzig go. Food was okay.

- we reserved 3 beds in 4 beds room, at 2 a.m. came somebody inside the room, it was horrible.

We will never go back, if you can avoid this hostel, do it.

Like sleeping in a homeless shelter. There were no lockers in the room to store belongings. I was asked to leave the first room I was given due to a mixup in the booking system. In the second room someone was obviously already installed in the bed I was assigned. I went to the front desk and was told housekeeping wasn't available. I was given sheets but no clean pillowcase or duvet and told to clear off the other person's stuff from my bed. Quite a shocking experience overall and not one I ever want to repeat.

A solid place. Clean and staff were nice. Photos on website were somewhat deceptive in highlighting room size, smaller than expected, and breakfast was disappointing. But would stay again considering good location and decent pricing.
