Great food great friendly service, great staff and management. Great time every time in there.
Great food great friendly service, great staff and management. Great time every time in there.
I've tried half a dozen Indian restaurants in East London in the last few months and all have been disappointing and none would I rush back to (and some I would avoid), but Lime changes that. Whilst it's not on my doorstop, I'd happily put the small effort in to allow for a couple of tube stops to make my way there on a Friday/Saturday night.
Good selection of faves/traditionals and what looks good choice for the more adventurous. Wine choice was more than reasonable, tasted good and not outrageously priced.
Advised that it is quieter on a Saturday, devoid of the business traveller no doubt from the Wharf, and as such didn't feel rushed to get in and choose, nor eat/sup up and leave. In fact, 'take your time' was the order of the day, but attentive when service was required. And at the end of the meal/night, the owner showed good customer service skills, chatty, interactive, friendly, warm, and knowing when to leave us alone.
This would be a 4.5 if the mobile app allowed it; the only minor point would be for the rest of the serving staff to smile a little bit more :)
Really really enjoyed this place. The food was great. The sears were comfy and the mood was very relaxed
Appalling customer service. Not greeted or seated as we walked in. Sat ourselves down (2 of us) whilst two waiters were talking away by the bar. 6 minutes in still no menu/drinks/greetings even though they only had two other table for More
Sadly food arrived cold and an hour later then promised, restaurant has suggested to warm it in a microwave (which I don't have) and refused to give discount, so instead returned food back to driver and cancelled order.
Really enjoyed the food and the service was friendly and efficient. The Saag aloo was excellent as was the Tarek Dahl. Garlic naan was very well done without overpowering garlic as some places do. I went with four sides for dinner and had plenty left over.
Standard Indian takeaway/restaurant, food was ok but not great and service wasn't great but not openly rude.
Not the best but much better then lot of Indian restaurants. Staff is very nice and friendly. Food portions are generous. Food quality is alright aswell. The only problem is this isn t authentic Indian or Pakistani cuisine restaurant. But it s ok with me because I get to try something different. Good amount of seating available here. Never had issues with parking my vehicle.
Good food and good at dealing with large group orders
Excellent service and excellent food, the place was pretty empty but the manager and staff were very attentive.Fantastic curries and brilliant service.
The food quality is too good as well the staff member. Really so tasty and nice food served
Very lovely tasty food...i had the pistachio chicken yum....me fella had chicken biryani...staff friendly...nice place..
They had a dish that combined a few different items that were all very nice. Will definitely be back over the next couple weeks
Ordered from here 2-3 times now, food was delivered on time and hot. Overall food taste very nice
Thank you lime.
Really nice place, friendly staff, great dinner. For sure I will be back there!
I like it here the food is amazing, and 10% discount if you order direct and collect!
The food is still as good as it used be 10 years ago. Love this place.
Went for lunch last week, the place was pretty empty but the manager and staff were very attentive. Shared a veg and and a chicken Thali both of each were really good, with varying flavours and heat plus generous portions. I really liked this place and if you are looking for a good curry in the cultural wasteland that is Canary Wharf then I would highly recommend. Evening out, early dinner- lovely restaurant, food good, if you want it spicy please ask for more spice - as it doesn t come very spicy. Other than that great experience - Good choice of beers and wine! Recommendation for the house red!
One of the best Indian restaurant I ve tried, the food is delicious and full of flavours,
The customer service is beyond limits.
Will definitely recommend.
We ordered from this restaurant through Just Eat. Food is pretty average. Specifically mentioned that make it medium, turned out to be hot. Biryani was very bad - who puts white chickpea in chicken biryani? I don't get it.
Really really nice food served here. The waiters and the owner are very nice people who make you feel very welcome. I would highly recommend this place 5****
Good food. Good staff. Overall good place to eat for a cheap price.
I ordered dinner online using Just Eat website. I had the following based on the reviews I read about the restaurant: 1- Hyderabadi Biryani, Chicken: the rice was OK. nothing special at all about it although the reviews says it is their best. I did not like the raw onion on top (Whenever I had Biryani it is usually served with crispy onion not raw but may be this is different recipe). As a matter of fact, the egg was OUT OF DATE!! this was horrible absolutely wrong and should not be happening. the moment I smelled the egg, I spitted out.
2- Tarka Daal: was very salted. Literally it was very salted daal coloured water and the few daal here and there with a couple of Chelie. I can see Daal in the lower part as it was mostly water added to the Daal. I think they Poured a little of it in the take away container and added water and so much salt to it. Really not good.
3-Chicken Tikka Masala: surprisingly it was sweet. Unlike any other Tikka Masala I tried in so many places and countries I have been to, this was not savoury as I like it. the chicken was covered with a bright red sweet sauce, No masala spices I can taste at all. but I can taste sweet coconut flavour and the bright red colour was so artificial. both Biryani and the Masala were so different from anything I tried in my life and I do not mean that in a good way. If I was in the restaurant, I would have returned the food back to the kitchen and left. I do not recommend this place to anyone especially for TAKE AWAY or ORDERING FROM HOME, such a waste of money. It is unfortunate that people write good reviews and post good pictures on Google when the reality is something completely different. Maybe it is because I ordered the food online and was not physically at the restaurant, so I was served the out of date food or that of a poor quality.
One of the bad restaurant i ever had. The food quality and taste was not good. They have serve some rice dish and named it as Biriyani which is the worst of all . Some of the items served were not fresh. very few items were tasty and not recommended if you are expecting authentic Indian food taste.
When you eat at a restaurant you expect not only the food to be of a standard but also the service to be exceptional. However i agree with some of the reviews on here, the food was surprisingly good but the srvice was atrocious. After asking 3 times did we get a jug of water. When we asked for some fried chillies (which is usually in tarka dahl in most restaurants )we were told they've run out of them, then the waiter point blank says "we cant make it any spicier" then ends up giving the dahl with the fried chillies after all and lots of them. They alsmost forget you're there and you have to work hard to get their attention to place an order. Their soft drink range is also poor didnt even have orange fanta / tango. And heaven forbid if any of them actually cracked a smile!
Service is very basic, and the aesthetics are questionable. However I was most pleased and surprised with the food, it was really really good.
Outstanding food, great service. Definitely up there as one of the best Indian meals I've had.
great food, amazing atmosphere an the staff are so lovely- Shardan especially always goes out of his way to make us comfortable. we can even forgive the fact that he supports Liverpool lol ;-)
recommend the biriyani and samosas but its all great!!
Food is good, consistently good. Staff are friendly and restaurant is clean and well decorated
Good food nice restaurant, quick, service ok, parking is a problem.
Really enjoyed. Good food, we tried several dishes. Would return
Very nice... family party.... great food and atmosphere
Had a lunch non veg thali. Absolutely loved it. Great food, great environment and very helpful staff. Food is quality.
Hidden in the middle of Isle of dogs, Lovely waiter Mohammed dealt with us, good place for birthday and Dinner partys
Bad customer service owner was rude he had a problem with us paying bill seperate. Ugly mofo
Excellent food, the Hyderabadi Biriyani is to die for!
Not very large restaurant is very clean and comfortable. Indian cuisine (and I believe Bangladesh).
Tasty dishes with attention to detail.
The quality, the quantity of the food, as well as the kindness and courtesy of the staff deserve, in my opinion, a gastronomic stop.
Average prices.
Owners a prick dead management. Doesn t know price of a coke. His lucky his shops still standing.
I really enjoyed the food. Good choice, well presented, and reasonably priced. Less than 5 min walk from Britannia International, and Novotel Canary Wharf.
there should be MORE stars!!!!! This is a truly remarkable restaurant, it is rare to find such quality food in fine atmospheric surroundings with friendly service AND within walking distance of your home. Even if you journey from afar you'll want to return :)
I go to this place with my colleagues on occasions. Their food is decent but if you go there for lunch time, I feel like they don't want us there, the look on their face is in comparison to the news of hearing someone close to them has died. Because I liked their food, I went back there with my wife for lunch, and the same expression, someone has died. But I've noticed something different which was quite upsetting, if you are from South East Asia then expect to be treated differently in comparison to a British white customer. It's so obvious, and they don't even hide the fact.
Perhaps the best Indian restaurant in London's East side. Fantastic curries and brilliant service.
Food was delivered to the wrong adress and when i called to complain, their only solution was for me to go myself and pick it up. Never ordering from here again.
Nice cosy restaurant & bar setting. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. Food was delicious. Will definetly return.
Service was excellent, food came really quickly, staff were polite, the food was really tasty, it's my fourth visit or so and I'm never disappointed. 5 stars for sure
I don't usually leave reviews. But this has to be said.
Disgusting customer service skills if that's what you call it.
Two different curries which tasted exactly the same.
No smiles. The waiters looked like they'd been hard done by.
Only 1 measly highchair. Like really!
We had to pay for what should of been complementary popadoms and Sauce.
What a liberty!
My 8 month old was smiling at the waiters and they just looked back like they've seen a ghost. Do they not have kids?
The morbeidely obsiet waitor needs to really liven up.
All in all if you want good food with respectful manners. This isn't the place for you.
Doesn't even deserve 1 star
Worst customer service experience . Rude management. Had a problem with us paying the bill separately.
Never going back. Learn how to treat customers.
Great food and very friendly staff, always a pleasure to eat here
Wonderful food, good service, will definitely be going back.
I went for lunch on 12.12.19 at 12.00pm.
I was given a seat next to a window. A couple of minutes later I moved in the empty restaurant as I felt cold. The seat and air from the external window I was sitting next to we re giving off coldness.
I WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT COLD. it was just because I have come in from the outside. He was not respectful in tone. I m not sure if he spoke to me like this because I am South Asian.
I am 50 years old and have been eating in London for 32 years. I very rarely move because of cold.
ARE THE OWNERS IGNORANT OF THE BENEFITS RETURN CUSTOM AND WORD OF MOUTH?
DO THEY DISLIKE MONEY?
TRAIN YOUR STAFF APPROPRIATELY.
Food was reasonable though.

Excellent food and service, the best Indian restaurant in east London
The food is good and the service, remember to say thank you...
Friendly welcoming staff great food nice restaurant
Love the food here it not just the standard curry dishes you get every where else great service too.
Butter with chicken
Butter with frozen prawns
Butter with lamb
Butter butter butter butter....
Friendly service, but terrible tasteless food! With a bit more effort in the kitchen the food can be eaten.
Never again.
Love this Place. Friendly respectful lovely staff and delicious food. Definitely going back x
Rubbish food due to new owners and chef. The food was so good infact 5star, 8 years ago. Waiters are definately rude and arrogant!
The lamb was dry, you could tase the law quality meat. Even thw naan was also old and soggy.
Really great food, comfortable setting. My curry had just the right amount of spice and was very fragrant and delicious.
Went there for dinner with friends and family started off well food was great, service was amazing ambience was ok very highly rated until the last minute went to pay the bill and since everyone had the same meal x 10 and 1 of our friends More
This place was awful from the food all the way to the waiters. He straight up ignored me and just blamed me after he failed to take my order. I am so frustrated I am writing the review while waiting for the bill
A sorry example for even a fake indian restaurant. The meat was undercooked, bland to the point of being tasteless. Who the hell would put chickpeas in hyderabadi biryani, oh yea its LIME.
On top of the worst food, service was non existent, staff were rude. Drinks were grossly overpriced and charged as "TIP", instead of main bill, probably a sneaky way to make extra money.
I sincerely advise anyone to avoid LIME if you want authentic indian food. Its just another Bangladeshi restaurant serving flavourless, oily food.
