My fiance and I came here on the way home from a job and my pregnant self was peckish. The place was clean, staff though a little distracted by gossiping as we arrived towards closing and teens will be teens. The food didn't take long and I can say the presentation was nice. Now the coleslaw was my mistake, I should have seen "Chipotle ranch coleslaw" and passed but I wanted it to be good. The sandwich though was killer. Very flavourful and layered nicely. The burger my fiance got he said was delicious. We both left full and satisfied. Would definitely recommend.

Very bad service. When we finally got a burger and sandwich they were good. Asked about our order twice and was told would be soon. Finally a woman from kitchen rudely told me our tray was dropped in the floor. Took 30 minutes to get our food. No plans to go back.

I visited this place because every time I passed by, it was PACKED. Didn't matter what hour, the parking lot was full. That it and ok f itself is all the recommendation I need. And it was GOOD. If you're looking for traditional burgers, fries and shakes, this is Exactly where you want to be. I highly recommend it.

We ordered bunless burgers and after loudly exclaiming how weird that was to the entire diner, we got the toughest, most overcooked tasteless patties I ve ever eaten. Do not recommend. (The egg was good)

Great example of complacency. Let me start by saying I have over 20+yrs of Restaurant experience.. Diane's used to be great, now its corner cutting at its finest. You can't go from homemade hashbrowns, to using frozen mcdonalds type and still charge $2.25. How about $3 for 3 pieces of Sysco bacon? Or the fact that half of the coffee selection is unavailable most of the time. If you charged appropriately your side add-ons would increase your profits. Whos running this place? Seriously, $2 for 2 slices of toast? Thats the cost of the whole loaf for Pete's sake. Ran out of biscuits? By 9:30? Since we don't have many other choices in town, well see how long everyone's ok with the absurd pricing. It was a sad day when Randy and Diane sold the restaurant. Don't run this place into the ground.

They have no deserts even though it said so on the website. Drove over 25 minutes out of the way to visit here just to get a no and a look like I was an idiot for even asking. Then when I told her I was going to look around she shrugged, said okay and walked off.
Place looks authentic, service is like I never seen before in Texas, just awefull.

I m giving 4 stars from the heart. The food was nothing above average, the serving size to cost ratio not great. This is Halletsville though, you don t have too many options. I ordered chicken fried steak and eggs, steak was tough, scrambled eggs cut into very small pieces, toast awkwardly cut, potatoes were decent. The butter for the toast was very soft and a big plus, many restaurants serve cold stiff butter to put on your toast. The drinks are self serve which for me is a big plus because I get frustrated when waiters don t notice my empty glass. Overall I give it a 3/5 but the friendly staff bumped it up barely to a 4/5.

I don't trust diners that won't serve breakfast all day long and that's how I knew I'd really like Diane's. Breakfast is my favorite food and they know what they are doing at Diana's.

I love taking a pit stop here on way to Corpus Christi on my favorite road 77. Food is really good home cooking. Mine is club sandwich and fries. Clean restrooms. Friendly folks. Highly recommended.

Loved it! Not yo momma's grilled cheese was amazing with fresh coleslaw. The adjacent store carries local Texas wine and beer, antiques and yummy desserts. Plenty of parking for RVs with a nice dog area.

Diane's has earned our business as regulars. Never ordered a bad meal. Staff is cheerful & good natured. Everything is just as clean & tidy as Bucee's. They're good supporters of the community as well.

The food was good and it looked really clean. My husband was originally given the wrong order. After he touched the food (he didn't take a bite yet) they came and switched the food. The food he was given originally was then given to the correct person (after he touched it). I could smell the oil from the fryer the moment we walked in. By the time we left our clothes smelled of oil.

We stopped by yesterday passing thru town on the way home. I got a Hamburger Steak, twice baked Potatoes and fried okra. It was AWESOME. Totally recommend and will make a point when we on our next roadtrip.

Absolutely love this place, my boyfriend is Celiac's and my mother is allergic to soy and this is the only place in Hallettsville where they can both eat and the food isn't lacking because of the allergy substitutions. Diane is great about working with your food allergies, and everything on the menu is delicious and homemade. Great atmosphere too where all the locals eat lunch and catch up with each other. And the bathrooms are fabulous and ALWAYS clean.
