On the way to the Circle Theater and this place was close, so off we went. Made reservations and a good thing. The place filled up quickly on a summer Friday night. Romantic setting with a window view. The food and service superb..cant go wrong at this place. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. One of our.. now favorites!

My family loves Olive's. Exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff. We can always count on here for a good meal and very nice cocktail and bar selections. A reliable favorite with delicious sharable appetizers!

The service has always been wonderful. My boyfriend and I first went to Olive s this summer and ordered an olive burger and the wimpy burgers, which were perfect in every way. I went back about a week ago with my boyfriend because we were in the area and ordered the same thing, hoping to get the same delicious burgers we had months prior. Sadly our high hopes were not met. Both of our burgers were very overcooked and had no flavor whatsoever. I m not sure what changed in the kitchen, but I hope it changes back!

This will definitely become a new favorite restaurant for me. I was there for a large party of 10 and my only complaint for the night is that we didn't save room for dessert. Our server was sassy and joined in the fun of our group and didn't even blink at some of the special orders from the picky eaters. The menu isn't cheap, but it's great quality food and is obviously very well thought out by a chef who is great at what she does. She even came out to greet us herself.
I will definitely be coming back and whirl highly recommend it to others.

My girlfriends and I have spent many nights there over many years sharing dinner, drinks and life stories, and we've always had exceptional food and service. It's hard to go there without seeing someone you know, but that's what's wonderful about the area!

We loved this place! Drinks were great and the food was fantastic! We sat at the bar and split the strip steak and it was done to our request. The service from Ailene, the bartender, was outstanding! She's professional, knowledgeable and always had a smile on her face!

The atmosphere at Olive's is so welcoming. I love that everyone mingles and if you've frequented a few times, they'll know your name. The food is outstanding. There is a little something for everyone and it's fresh and local. Plus... The Chicken Wellington is back(Winter 2016 Menu) Definitely worth the trip.

I hosted a bachelorette party on the weekend and booked a room for our dinner. It easily accommodated our large group and was nice and private. There were a few steps up to the level however I was pleasantly surprised to find a small elevator for those with physical challenges. The staff were very accommodating and the food was excellent. I ordered the meatloaf and it was hands down the best I've ever had. The only area for improvement would be their coffee. Otherwise an excellent experience. You won't be disappointed!

My favorite Gaslight Village restaurant. Very cozy, with a great warm feeling inside. The food is tasty and the wine is good! Great for lunch and dinner. The staff is nice and friendly. I only took off one start because the coffee isn't great.

This is a go-to joint in Gaslight Village. I often have the olive burger and the olive salad. Their other entrees are good too. Casual bistro atmosphere, can get loud at times. Staff is professional and easy to get along with. I have been to Olive's over 40 times I think.

I ordered two glasses of the Cabarnet Sauvignon and the seared broccoli salad with grilled chicken, and it was delicious! The menu changes often to accommodate seasonal items, so always something new to try! One of the ladies ordered the duck. Food was delicious and tasty.

The most amazing ever changing menu that also has "regulars". Amazing wines, mixed drinks & beers. Smaller in size, privately owned non-chain & a great place to sit, eat, chat & chill!

Lovely environment. Classic martini was made exactly as I ordered, and shaken and poured table side.

Hubs and I shared an order of poutine which was delicious, but a touch saltier than I like and could have used just a little more gravy.

We also shared their house salad. This was fresh, light, and bright. The dressing was subtle and the olives in it made it a little more unique than a standard side salad.

As an entree we split the short ribs. The rice was delicious as were the braised tomatoes and green beans. The ribs themselves were to die for. The meat fell right off the bones. My only complaint on this dish was that I think it was a little light on the meat. It was served with 2 small rib segments and I think 3 would have been more visually appealing and more appropriate for the $22 price.

As a whole the meal was absolutely delicious, but a touch high in cost for what it was.

We are never disappointed with the service., food or cocktails here. Wait staff is experienced and into their jobs, thoroughly familiar with the menu and obviously dedicated to guest satisfaction. We have never had a dish that wasn t completely satisfying, and the drinks- particular their specialty cocktails - are worth every penny of their rather high prices. In nicer weather, don t miss the lovely and comfortable deck.

The service was very nice. But the place itself is very cold. I was there for over an hour n not once thought about taking my coat off. The tables are metal, the walls are metal, and I was freezing the whole time. The chairs are not very comfortable, small hard chairs with no cushion, makes your bottom numb.
Also quite a few friends were still hungry after having our dinner, the amount of food they give you is not enough to make a man's belly happy.

Service was good and so was food but portions were small for what you pay. One of those places that's set up for you to have to order appetizers to actually feel full or salad or something. Seating is also quite tight which is not the most relaxing experience. Parking is a little bit of a nightmare also but that might have been the time of day we were there.

I ordered an olive burger cooked to medium. It came to the table rare and cold. I sent the burger back to the kitchen. By the time my burger was brought back to me, my husband had finished his dinner and the burger was still rare and cold. The waitress did remove the cost of the burger, but very disappointed for our first visit.

Olive's manages to be both welcoming and unpretentious, and a top notch restaurant. On a corner of a hip neighborhood, it is surprisingly small - maybe 40 seats - with a bar along one wall crowded with friends mingling with staff. Tables to the right are cozy without being smushed together. The menu is familiar but impressive, and everything is well made, from drinks, to burgers, to salads, to higher end entrees.

Being a college student paying her way through school, it is a rare occasion that I go out to eat. But when I do I always chose to indulge at Olives. The mushroom crostini is my absolute favorite appetizer I have ever had anywhere! It's prepared beautifully and always tastes fresh. While the exceptional food brought me in to Olives, it's the personable and friendly atmosphere that keeps bringing me back. Chef EJ puts her heart into every dish and I think that's the ingredient that makes the dishes and experience distinguishable from other restaurants!

Fun place to grab a drink. Nothing revolutionary. Well, it's still family owned so that's worth celebrating. Wished they had vegan options (2nd wish is soy free). Staff is always great though.

This place is always busy but there never seems to be a wait - I hesitate to write a review because I selfishly don't want everyone to find this place - the food is fantastic, seasonal but not too weird. The pricing is just right and the service is excellent and the decor is quaint and inviting. One of my favorite restaurants in Grand Rapids!

The atmosphere was so loud that I couldn't hear the people on the other side of the table from me. The food was high quality, but at this lofty price point, I would prefer a more comfortable place. Even for casual food, I would probably not go out of my way to such a loud venue.

All the main courses hit the spot. We got the burger, sliders, halibut, and I believe my wife got a Cuban.

Chips and salsa with crab and shrimp it was good but probably should not call soft warmed corn tortilla chips. It was also impossible to eat without a fork since soft tortilla cannot actually scoop anything. The taste was very good despite the awkward scooping.

The fries were a little bit disappointing. They weren't bad but I expected above-average and felt they were slightly below-average. They were seasoned well and had good flavor, so some people might like them, but I prefer my fries to have a little bit of crisp, and the fries are fairly soft and floppy.

The quinoa patties were my favorite appetizer of the two.

Seating was pretty awkward. We called ahead to reserve a table because we were attending a fundraiser. During the call, the staff told us there would be enough capacity that we should not reserve a table. When we arrived, we were told they were so busy that they had no way to estimate the wait, but they said it could be up to an hour and 20 minutes. Despite the fundraiser being planned with the staff, they did not have the upper floor open to meet demand, so several parties left instead of eating in support of the fundraiser. We wound up then being seated much sooner than expected but the fundraiser lost out because there were then open tables and parties who had already dined elsewhere. I would strongly recommend not planning a fundraiser with Olive's.

Great food! Small menu but I've never been disappointed with any of the selections. During peak times you might have to wait a bit for a seat but that is a testament to the food. Olive's is a local gem.

Food and drinks are great. Not enough seating. Not well staffed. Service was lacking as in didn't ask if we wanted more drinks or food. Took over half hour for table. Took over half hour for food after eight at night.
