Lidl Grocery Stores moves into American neighborho...

Lidl Grocery Stores moves into American neighborhoods and destroy home value. Their store has windows with glaring lights on the rear of their store. Above an EXIT glass door is a very bright light that shines constantly. All this 50 ft from residential homes. Ask to do something about it, they ignore their neighbors/customers. Lidl is a VERY INCONSIDERATE business to have in your neighborhood. I am speaking here from experience with the Dumfries, VA Lidl Store which is in my backyard.

I ve shopped the Woodbridge and Manassas stores as we were in the area. Always worth the trip from Fairfax Va., just wish they d open a store nearer us as Aldi is the only similar choice next Shoppers.

It's been almost 4 weeks since I contacted customer service regarding some spoiled products. I was advised that a member of there quality control team would contact me immediately and I would be receiving compensation for those items I purchased. Neither had happened!!

I have never been to an establishment where management is combatted with the customer. What happen to superior customer service. It doesn t appear Lidls has worked on c/s. A manager named (Nicholas) needs additional training for sure, he is not sincere, welcoming or all about the customer. If the customer is not right, I thought your still supposed to satisfy with a smile. At least that s what I was taught years ago. Sorry Lidl s but you have lost a valued customer.

The Gamemanship between Aldi and Lidl's Grand Open...

The Gamemanship between Aldi and Lidl's Grand Openings Created A Dangerous Situation. The increasing amount of Gift Cards ( from 100 to 200) and their Values ( up to $500) Created A Unruly Crowd Bent on Grabbing the Gold Ring. Walmart with their Black Friday Promotions Did the Same Thing that Resulted in at Least One Security Gaurd's Death.
There was Insufficient planning for a crowd as large as the one that showed up for the Grand Opening. There was No Crowd Control. There was No Corral System to contain the people in an orderly way. I arrived at 7:38 am. I stood at the end of the line of 150 people.. I watched the Mayor cut the ribbon, the Lidl teams come out, etc. 27 minutes later they flung open the doors. By this time the line had branched out into another parking lot. These people started cutting into the main trunk. of the line. They though that the people on the last portion of the main trunk were trying to cut in front of them. They started violently pushing their way into the main line telling people their ahead of them that they were cutting and to go the back of the line.
Eventually I got into the store. I was unable to move because every customer had a shopping cart. The lack of oversight had created another Nightmare! Too many people in the store to move . The legal amount of customers allowed in the store doesn't seem include the shopping carts. I squeezed out of the store and left.
TOTAL NIGHTMARE!

Lack of being able to call store directly is a huge minus. No other grocery store in this area has this policy. I called their help line (which I think went overseas somewhere) and was told the direct store phone numbers are "not given to the public".

Stopped into the Hampton store yesterday. I wash the corporate office people would check the stores. I've shopped in Lidl in Germany and tges restrooms there are clean always. But I had to tell a manager his restroom is dirty. The floors in the store are also dirty . The self checkout registers are dirty. If the CEO of lidl saw what is going in the American stores he should be appalled. I expected alot more because it's a German company and I know how clean stores are there. Please it would be nice to have a little more German things in the stores.

This is not a review, rather a question. When is going to open stores in the state of Connecticut or New York? Right now we have only Aldi but I know Lidl from my travels to Germany when I was very pleased with your selection of merchandise.

We bought two pounds of 80% lean ground beef at a Lidl. The price was terrific. Less than $ 1.00 per pound. For ground meat, it was hard to chew. It felt like gristle. There were small pieces of bones in the ground meat. Not once, not twice but in almost every bite.

Not saying anyone's racist but I think I got fired for being Black male in an altercation. Lidl warehouse in (graham, nc) has a no tolerance policy. April 6 2019 I was at work and a coworker put his hand on me. When my team lead asked me what happened I told him the truth, they asked the guy and he told him nothing happened at all. So they suspended us both with pto until they could investigate. Knowing you can only be but so right defending yourself all I asked if they could check the cameras. They claim they will but didn t. The cameras barely works in this establishment because I m pretty sure if they did they wouldn t have to mention about people stealing inventory everyday in the group meetings. The reason I m asking for cameras is equal perspective and you can clearly see the guy is not working and stopping me from doing my job at the time. I was in a totally different aisle then him and the altercation happened by my forklift truck where I was working. I didn t provoke this guy , just a conversation with big words got him furious enough grab me. As we tussle to the ground I told myself to just defend myself and don t hit him back. I couldn t believe this was even happening like I never imagined fighting at a place I work for. I asked how can I be penalized for this mans actions. I asked my manager (pharaoh) she said I shouldn t be talking at all. That s kinda hurtful seeing though everyone communicate and on top of that I was new and never trained properly. So yeah I did have to ask a few things here and there. I also showed up an hour early everyday and stayed late sometimes. Me losing the best job I ve ever had is unreal to me so I ask myself from the time they suspended me until now. Why me? The only realistic thing I can fathom is that a Black man in an altercation and rather them dealing with the problem the cut is both loose. The biggest lost I ever took was hoping to retire with this company I guess. Good luck and stay out the way to next man that might go through the bad luck I ve experienced

I really like the stores.

I really like the stores.
I was, however, deeply disappointed with their choice in selling culturally insulting t-shirts to "celebrate" St. Patrick's Day. A green shirt with
"Kiss me I'm Irish, drunk, or whatever!" was somehow approved by corporate buyers. I missed the racial slurred t-shirts for Martin Luther King Day, Cinco de Mayo, and Columbus Day. For some reason, the Irish are fair game for such insults. The Irish, like many other nationalities, contributed greatly to the building of this great nation, yet getting drunk "or whatever" is intended to be the best way for you to expect your patrons to celebrate??Please rethink your choices for next year.
Other than that, keep up the good work!!

Only hires people they like. They refuse to hire qualified individuals like myself (I have 5+ years of Admin Assistant experience). Lidl's HQ in Germany should be appalled how Americans ran this company to the ground.

Babylon L.I. N.Y.observed the following. In ice cream case little of Lidi brand ice cream,fish freezel case many Wild Sockeye Salmon Frozen plastic wrap ed units overn date( Many days ) for best of sale!. We hoped to make this go to place for food etc. I understand out on ice cream ok,but not checking the date of your frozen food NOT GOOD.

EBT & credit card users beware, if your card doesn't scan they cannot manually enter the numbers, this is the case in all LIDL stores. Unfortunately you will find this out after you put everything on the belt at the store.

The worst customer service you can find. The store...

The worst customer service you can find. The store management is unable to use their equipment properly.
The people in customer care do not respond as they promise within stated time.
After roughly three weeks a message was received asking for facts that were already submitted in the first response.
A call to their center gets you stonewalled. They will not submit to upper management or upper management is simply not interested.
Will not return as their location is not very accessible, the prices are not that good.

Love your Express Store in Arlington!!! So convenient & well done!!! Great quality fresh food, meat, bakery items, etc. are so appreciated. The fast frozen dinner items come in handy as well. Highly recommend for a quick drink, snack, lunch, salad, dinner items. This is a convenience store that is unmatched by any other. Thank you Lidl!!!

I mailed a letter to Senior Management on 7/6/16 to the Arlington, VA address. It's very important to us as future customers that Senior Management read it. Our home will be being negatively impacted by the sewer line being installed next to it for the store that is going to be build in 2018 next to the Fortuna Shopping Center in Dumfries, VA. This is going to require the removal of many mature trees in back of our home and leave a wide open path from the store and store parking lot directly to the back of our home. This is going to create a real security issue for us. Please read our letter so you can see in detail the impact this is going to have on us as homeowners. We understand Lidl will provide many jobs and that is good but we hope you and understand are willing to consider a good alternative to the problem you are creating for us. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I like the store on Military Hwy. Norfolk Va.
But it's becoming more and more frequent that when your ad comes out on Thursday the store does not have some of the items in the ad.I have been to this store 2 hours after it opens to find you don't have the sale items, nothing is substituted for the missing items and the management tells me it's a regional issue and hands me a phone number to call,what gives???

Two new locations in and near Charlotte. I keep trying to get English muffins but there never is any. I talked to the managers. One said he d order them but still none. The other manager told me he doesn t order them. I don t like going to two stores for my groceries.

An incident occurred at store #101 in Winston Sale...

An incident occurred at store #101 in Winston Salem, NC on August 10, 2019 whereas an employee splattered a bleach containing cleaning product. Damages were caused to me by the action of the store employee. The store manager reported the incident to the corporate office. As of today (8/21/2019) not one person from Lidl has reach out to address this issue. Very, very disappointing and poor customer relations.

I work for Lidl and they completely discriminate against people with disabilities. The do not or will not supply minor accommodations for people with learning disabilities. If you are not perfect according to the " ELITE" Lidl standard then you are forced to work under deplorable conditions until you quit. Absolute most horrible experience of my life

Been to several locations in N. Carolina, the best shopping and even if I had a complaint, I just give them my receipt and the product is replaced or refunded, no problem. I find some crazy bargains and unique items all the time.

Meat & fresh vegetables are good, none of the bread is good. Products being available is a real problem apparently this chain store does not take it's customers time or what they buy seriously, I have repeatedly shop there for common products to find out they are out of stock! I will not shop there any more just a waste of time if I have to go another grocery store anyway....... Also every grocery store on the planet starts their sales on Wednesday! { They finally got it! Sales start on Wednesday now like everyone else on the planet!) Also when I have inquired with mangers about out of stock items they tell me to call corporate headquarters..... So if you will NOT listen to your local manager's why would I think you would listen to me. If you cannot be competitive with the other stores in town which by the way sell groceries only and not 1/3 of their stores selling cheap merchandise, just pack up & leave I have a lot more & better options than this Lidel store!

I was so happy when Lidl moved into my neighborhood in Rock Hill, SC because I have shopped at their stores in Germany. The love affair is tainted because while they have low prices, they do not keep their landscaping and store fronts clean and tidy per the German way. I tried calling their corporate headquarters but they do not have any options to reach a human much less a human in leadership. Very disappointing Lidl.

For one thing this customer service phone number they give, you cannot get a human being on the phone. They give you two options and none of them relate to getting a customer service representative on the phone to speak to. So you cannot call the store directly and then the customer care number that they give out no one gets the phone And there s no option to speak to a customer service rep. What kind of customer service is that?

I do hope LIDL improves some because if they do not I will switch back to Aldi s or Publix. Far too many times now, and I have reported this several times to corporate office via these reviews, that the shelves are usually empty when they have sales going on and when I earn points with coupons of percentages off an item a lot of times I can t even get that item because it s not on the shelf and they do not give rain checks either. Not very customer friendly there either.

I recently made a $130 grocery order last week and while at the register I forgot to enter in my phone number and the cashiers never ask if you re a little member and if you want to type in your phone number before they process the transaction and I forgot to type in my phone number and I m trying to find out how to go back into the system and add this large grocery order to my LIDL app so that I can earn points for this large grocery order and I cannot figure out how to do it in the manager of LIDL in Augusta Georgia has no idea how to do it and just told me to call customer service to find out YET the Customer service phone number provided there is no customer service representative that you can get on the phone.

Candidate Feedback: I was asked during my interview by the Operations Manager (who was either younger or the same age group as myself) from Cleveland, OH-IO "If your Aunt didn't die would you have stayed in Ohio?" Discourteous, yes he was; my Aunt died of cancer; her sister (my Mom) enlisted in the Army together and it triggered her PTSD so I got as close to home as I could being my commute was 8-hrs away and I'm an only child. My Mom was a medic in the Army; someone who made many troops well and held their hand during their last breath. I was interrogated as though I committed a crime and yet I have lost much by giving more than I have ever received in my career; life lessons you grow from. This young man has much to learn professionally; I apologize for having such an early rewarding career from people who invested in me who couldn't protect me from the realities of "You've got to learn to leave the table when love is no longer being served". I apologize for reaching an age where you learn "Family first" isn't just a phrase. I can't apologize for allowing you to impact my interview with your discourteous methods and assumptions (because I worked the HRC campaign & in government) and to be left with I don't have retail experience, "I worked for Winn Dixie as a teenager, I started a small safety consulting business to groom underprivileged youth in my community in 2012, and I have General Industry Safety experience that landed me in Ohio to cultivate a culture". Life happens and your tombstones won't read work....so start inspiring and enjoy your family when and while you can. The DMV isn't Ohio; you'll see in time....

When I exited I recall seeing on the company wall near the elevators "Success is not final" the rest of the quote not mentioned was "Failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts". I'd like to add:

I have shopped the new Center Moriches, NY store 4...

I have shopped the new Center Moriches, NY store 4 times as of today 1/5/20 (3PM Sunday) and am disappointed with out of stocks and price gouging. 1/2gal whole milk - out, original English muffins - out for the 4th time just the whole wheat which are terrible, 1 doz lg eggs last week $0.69 today $0.99, no weight indication on German Sourdough bread and you need training before you can slice and pkg the bread w/o spilling it all over - am entitled to know how much I'm getting for my money. Lastly the gravity feed nuts are a joke - need both hands, 1 to hold the bag to the chute and the other to hold the lever down - but then there's no secure way to close the bag - so the nuts will spill all over. Use a bag with a horizontal tie(wider than the bag) attached to the opening . Fill the bag, rollup the tie and flip the 2 ends over the bag. I've jusy given you $500.00 worth of consulting and advice. Your cost $1.98.

Visited location in Newport News Va. today. The time was around 10 AM and there were so many associates stocking with large carts in the middle of the aisle that it was very difficult to maneuver through the store. Associates in general were not friendly and made no effort to move to allow space for the shopper. I have visited this location since it s opening and have noticed a decline in overall store appearance, available product and customer service.
