Libertine Bar and Resturant Review

It's an expensive restaurant - but is such a good place for a date night. Food is amazing, I hate brussel sprouts but they made it delicious! Their cocktails are pricey but good.

Just went in for a drink. Cold beer, delicious wine and super friendly service. The menu looks AMAZING, we'll be back!

Attentive service especially for such a busy night. Onyx was delicious. The zucchini chips were a little too oily for our taste - reminiscent of old school fish & chip batter, which might appeal to some. Atmosphere was bustling but our table still felt cosy - a very nice mix to have.

Great food friendly staff. Tried lunch special banquet for 2. It was AMAZING. 5 course meal + a glass of wine. Lamb wrap with yogurt sauce starter was the highlight for us.

What stood out most was the fresh wholesome ingredients used thoughtfully in every dish. We had the 'Choose your own banquet' which is their Tuesday special in which you choose 3 items off the entrees/street food menu, 2 mains and 2 of either a salad or a desert. My favourite was probably the crab sandwich was a delicious crabmeat filled slider (mini burger) and then secondly the beef cheek dumplings. The mains being the whole baby snapper and lamb back strap were super filling and cooked to perfection, if anything the fish was a tiny bit dry but I probably took too long to eat it. The only downside was the venue itself, we were seated inside where the noise travels very easily and we could hear the conversation/ruckus of a large group on the other side of the room. Sitting outside in the hedge-lined courtyard would prove to be much more enjoyable next time. Staff were friendly and attentive and accepted my email Birthday voucher with no hesitations. All in all a nice night was had, would have given 5 stars for better noise-reduction within the restaurant and more reasonable pricing but I expected to leave with an empty pocket and also the Birthday voucher I was lucky enough to receive helped.

Tasty asian fusion food. Intimate setting. Not great for people that take food photos before they eat (like me..lol) as the place is very dark at night. The cocktails...oh my. Loved the chilli vodka, it went down very well with the asian food flavours.

Cozy location, we had dinner outside...soft light and music background.
Inside the place is really nice with a french style..
out of the touristic tour,we went on foot but if you have the car there is a good parking since it is just out of the barack center with shops and cinemas.

Good quality of the food...tasty, good portions...great choise of wines...

Great service! The fried chicken entree was quite average. It didn t have any Vietnamese influence whatsoever (although the name claimed so) with a not very exciting mayo based sauce on the side and the tiger prawn croissant is a good idea but not the best execution, plus there were definitely not King prawns in it. Great Yellow curry! with real King Prawns and the dessert platter is the way to go. Will definitely be back to keep exploring the menu.

For the price I cant fault it. Fusion food doesnt always work but Ive never never eaten a dish here that I thought didnt work. Staff are also pleasant and attentive

The food was absolutely fantastic. Every course was delicious. The staff was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and just straight up cool to hang out with. If you're looking for a restaurant to splurge, you can't go wrong here.

Amazing bug toasts; viet fried chicken was yummy but dry with bland mayo; pork belly was overpriced - the meat itself was tender but devoid of flavour and "crackling" was chewy and tough. We told the waiter we didn't like it and they took our feedback seriously, calling a manager over and talking to us about it in depth. Nice to see they valued our feedback and wanted to put it right. Genuine service, average and overpriced food. Won't be back

Magnificent! Amazing creative flavours, beautiful atmosphere and 5 star service. It was a perfect evening.

I have frequented this beautiful establishment for work, family celebrations and sometimes with just a friend to catch up. It always offers a new surprise in an incredibly vibrant atmosphere with a unique and exciting menu. It is also easy to get to and has plenty of parking. The service is performed with personality that is consistent among the team. They themselves bring a unique style of service that reflects the vibrancy of this French/Vietnamese restaurant. Well done to you. They have a great tequila selection too. I will always return.

We stumbled upon this place while looking for somewhere to have a nice lunch and all i can say is i am glad this is where we stopped the food was amazing and the service was excellent, thanks guys we will be back.

We had our Christmas party here last Friday. The service and food was just amazing. The wait staff were so lovely and attentive to our table. The food was to die for and there was so much of it! They catered specifically for gluten free and vegetarian in a banquet of 12. Thank you so much for your fabulous hospitality!

The service was fantastic. The male waiter was engaging, professional and read the room and the customers really well. The food was reasonably price and incredibly tasty. Can t wait to go back.

We were part of a party of six that dined at the Libertine on Saturday 30.07.2016, and given the reviews and comments from other patrons our expectations were for an enjoyable outing, this was not the case, we ordered our drinks and Starters. The only comment about the so called Japanese Sea scallops, they resembled something you would see in the freezes section at Coles, Woolworths or the local corner fish shop, I was not aware that such perfect round shapes occurred in nature. We ordered our main courses the meals did not arrive together but spread over a 25 minute spacing by which time the rice we had ordered, that was delivered with the first meals was cold, as we were the last to receive our meals long after the other couples had finished, the table took another 15-20 minutes to clear dishes. Similar story with coffee and desert, desert arrived some 20 minutes after the coffee was served, in all a very disappointing experience which we would not seek to repeat any time soon. D.C.

Libertine has got to be the most consistently excellent restaurant in Brisbane. We visit the restaurant on a regular basis and each and every time the food never fails to exceed our expectations. The menu is regularly updated while old favourites are maintained. The dishes are consistently delicious with bold and interesting flavours and combinations. The service is always friendly and warm with the perfect level of attentiveness. The restaurant manager, Gee is fantastic, she always remembers our faces and never fails to make us feel welcome, valued and at home. I cannot recommend a visit highly enough. Thanks Libertine Team!

French-Vietnamese fusion food done well! Every mouthful was full of delicious flavours. Loved the grilled marinated lamb in betel leaves, the wagyu dumplings, the crab and Asian slaw sliders, green papaya salad which may sound simple to make was so delicious and the dressing sauce was well balanced and could not fault the crispy pork belly. Lamb was also cook beautifully, they melt in your mouth.

The restaurant itself is beautiful, elegant and classy. Love the feature walls and chandelier decor, definitely has the romantic vibe to it.

I can t wait to go back and try more dishes!

We had a truely fantastic long lunch with some friends we had not caught up with in a while. The pace the food was brought out at, the quality of the food and the relaxed and unobtrusive way we were looked after all contributed to this being a very memorable afternoon we are looking forward to recreating on our next visit to Brisbane.

We dined here after a few false starts on our recent trip to Brisbane. By the time we got to Libertine, our expectations were pretty low. We were so surprised to find Libertine was a proper grown-up restaurant. The decor What is eclectic and gorgeous, The staff were attentive and on the ball. We indulged ourselves in the five course banquet, There was so much food, we couldn t finish it. The food was exquisite. The wine list was also expansive and catered to most tastes. Add, surprisingly, the bill was very reasonable. We will most certainly be heading back on any future visit to Brisbane.

What a fantastic restaurant! The setting is lovely, the staff friendly and honest and the food is some of the best I have had! The menu offers so many choices. It s a perfect place for sharing dishes, which means you re able to try so much more. The vegetable sides (and zucchini chips ) are so delicious and I understand the chefs are happy to use tofu as an alternative to meat in some of the mains. In fact it s a great place for vegetarians. Whilst it is among the more expensive restaurants, I believe the consistency and amazing flavours give better value. It s the second time I have been and I can t wait for an excuse to return!

Went for dinner with friends and had a wonderful experience. Delicious food, great wine list, attentive staff and a fabulous ambience. You must visit.

Terrible Vietnamese French cuisine I ever had. Some reasons for not going back here again: Veg with stir fried chicken isn't worth that price. Pork Belly is too tough, chewy and dry. fried cauliflower has too much fried powder on it. French fries tastes soft and salty. luckily, the choc fondant is safe.
To be concluded, even though it has the 4.6 stars high rankings of French cuisine in bnz, I'm quite disappointed.

Our table got cancelled last minute to give it to someone else. Poor service. Unreliable.

Eclectic and beautiful decor. Extensive menu selection with a great selection of wines and cocktails. Staff were friendly, efficient and attentive. Most importantly the food was amazing with a fusion of flavours that were perfectly prepared and portioned. Thank you for the amazing experience and will definitely be a return customer in the not to distant future.

Our waiter was just a lovely young man. Nothing was too much trouble. A fantastic ambassador for the restaurant. And thank you to the manager for accommodating a dessert change on the dessert platter. The food and service were outstanding

Libertine is fantastic! The staff, atmosphere and food here are all to die for! We visited on a busy evening but we had nothing to fault. Granted, we may have waited a little longer than normal but my girlfriends and I were having such a good time we didn t even realise- the restaurant was packed so it s to be expected! :) This is the style of service they advertise as being very street food and share plates so if you re in a rush for an individual A la carte type meal- libertine wouldn t be your best bet but you d be missing out on one of the best places in Brisbane for sure! The banquet menus have something to suit everybody! Staff are warm and accommodating. Nothing is too much for anybody we came into contact with. Thank you Libertine- we will be back!

Our old favourite never fails. Parking is free for 3 hrs or less. Good service. Amazing food. Libertine is a Brisbane classic which has withstood the test of time in a market where many restaurants open up but don t survive. Great coffee too. The flavours they put together sometimes surprise me. You think it s not going to work, but it does! Brussel sprouts with Camembert and chicken as a stir fry? Who would have thought such interesting combos could create something so delicious! Moreton Bay bug toast...I could come back and just eat this all day long it s that delicious!

I ve been here three times in the last 8 years. Even though years have gone by each time it has been very consistent in the food quality and service. I wish I could come here more often.

We had the 6 course buffet. Was a tad worried, as I am Italian, whether it would be enough food, but I was so full after it! A few of the group couldn t finish it all. Each dish was fantastic!!! Best pork belly I ve ever had and the beef cheek dumpling and duck pancake were absolutely delicious!

Cannot recommend this place enough. Staff were lovely and helpful and very attentive.

Looking forward to my next visit (hopefully soon!!!)

For the past 5 years, I have taken my father to a Brisbane Broncos game for his birthday. It has become tradition that we enjoy a meal at Libertine prior to the game. As always, the food, service and ambience was second to none. I was a little sad to find out the the Duck Fat Potatoes were no longer on the menu, however this gave us an opportunity to explore something new. We'll be back again next year if not before.

Absolutely excellent. I've been here twice now and they haven't failed to impress. The food is absolutely to die for with gorgeous Asian dishes such as dumplings, bao and noodles but with a French twist. Cocktails are amazing also with my favourite being the Mojito Rouge and sweet, but not too sweet, strawberry and rum concoction. The service is also suberb with personable conversation and great recommendations.

The i'm hungry almost killed me but what a way to go

The food was divine, although the size of the meals was on the smaller size. Service was good too. Make sure to book inside during hot season.

Service and ambiance were highlights. Food portions appropriate for the style of dining (we were a large group that ordered the 5-course banquet) but spaced a little to far apart from one another, as in the time in between each course could have been shorter as most of the courses were one/two piece type dishes. Taste-wise, be open minded as its fusion asian - I would not take my 'I can make this better at home auntie or mom' but save it for good night out for friends/special occasion.

I have eaten at Libertine before and the food is lovely. So I was excited when I was gifted a voucher to eat there for my Birthday in July. However, when I rang up to book in November I found that the voucher had expired. I understand that vouchers expire and that's the policy. But nowhere on the voucher (which was sent from the restaurant to the person who gifted it to me) was the expiry date and a 3-month expiry is not typical. This is a lovely restaurant but more communication is needed so that people's money doesn't go to waste.
(I'm not giving a low star review because the restaurant is lovely and I know how important google reviews can be to a business but I wanted to give this feedback)

Having a desire to have a hot & spicey green paw paw salad I dropped into Libertine's to order it. Shannon provided me prompt and professional service, although the salad was requested with extra chilli and this wasn't the case, I still left on a high. Thanks Shannon see you again.

Oh this restaurant is superb in almost every way. Food is so innovative, so creative and so tasty. The attention to details it s outstanding.service is better than any we have had before. ]

Don't recommend, had problems from the beginning of the night and it only got worse. Ordered gin and got vodka, no big deal, waitress took the drinks back but 20mins passed and still no correct drinks brought out. After checking our table a lovely gentleman finally came over to inform us that they were out of the gin but offered something different. Long wait for food which was incorrectly put through after the waitress took our order, according to the manager an email from a week earlier was confirmation of the banquet despite us confirming with a waitress multiple times in person that we'd be having the 5 course. We brought it to the managers attention when a wrong meal came out saying we were happy to drop other options as we had ordered the 5 course. After discussion the manager reluctantly charged us the correct price but told us to hurry, finish our food and drinks and leave. As we are all hospitality workers we understand how hard it is at the moment but this woman has no customer service skills and is extremely rude, I will be telling friends to avoid this place at all costs. Such a disappointment for a friend's birthday dinner.

Been to this place multiple times now. Always a great experience. Staff are extremely professional but friendly and helpful at all times. I honestly can't go past the 7-course meal. I've had it twice of the 8 times I've been there so far and it has outshined the other experiences by far. Definitely recommend pairing the matching wines along with the deal.

Service was bad on monday night. Food came after one hour after ordering... surprisingly other customers came after us and had their "foodstreet" before us. San Choy Bau wasn't spectacular as the iceberg salad came in one quarter of the whole salad and found only one with bowl shape. Chicken Coleslaw had too many chunks of red cabbage (creating a bitter taste) and chicken breast wasn't impressive. My suggest on the coleslaw need some more carrots and some chopped vietnamese mints to create an exotic melody on the palate. Fish in the bag with coconut was ok except for the two slices of lemon that destroyed the dish leaving a bitter taste in parts of the fish... could be better using kaffir lime or slice of lime in my opinion. Expecially for the price charged my partner and I we were exciting and expecting some sensational vietnamese food with french twist cuisine but I haven't found much vietnamese and we were really disappointed after all.

We held a function for 66 women and everything from start to finish was fantastic. The staff were very professional, the space was excellent, the food was delicious and excellent value. We will be back!
