What a great experience! Delicious food and outstanding service. Our waitress gave us wonderful recommendations from the menu and we were not disappointed! The buns are well worth the try and make sure to leave room for the banana donuts, delicious! Oh and the coffee is really good as well.
This restaurant has become a new favourite of mine. My lunch there last Thursday was my second visit and the food and service was excellent. I will be back for dinner next Saturday night, with a friend who lives in Washington. I wanted to take her somewhere impressive and memorable that really showcases the best of Brisbane.
Expensive but the quality of the food is top notch.
Seated outside on a gorgeous Brisbane night, we had stellar service to match the stellar meal. From perfect classics, such as fried rice, to true fusion delights, bbq duck and cherry crepes, the food was the star! Three street food plates, two salad plates, one share plate and a side were more than enough to sate the desires of four hungry adults and two 'starving' kids (one a teenager)! Well worth a visit!
Libertine scores a 5 out 5 for me. We had the most wonderful group dinner there on last Saturday night and everything was perfect. We arrived early for pre-dinner drinks and we were greeted by friendly and professional staff who ensured we were kept hydrated, and who managed to organise numerous drink orders as various people arrived. They did so while keeping their cool and never making us feel as though we were a bother. This is what good service should be, but seems difficult to find in Brisbane.
We then went over to our tables for dinner, and despite several last minute cancellations and having a number of people with particular eating requirements, the waiting staff took our orders and accommodating every request, again while making us feel as though nothing was too much trouble.
The restaurant has such a wonderful atmosphere; the paper lanterns provide a beautiful ambience and the the little covered areas create a market place/village feel, so that even though there are people all around you, it feels quite private and cosy.
The drinks list is extensive and delicious. I loved how they take old favourites and play around with them to bring them up to modern palate sensibilities. There is a drink here for every tastebud.
The crowd seemed to be made of people of all ages and all seemed to be enjoying themselves. We had the best night, and came away feeling as though we could do it all again the following night. I will be returning to try Happy Hour on a Saturday afternoon; I need to work my way through their extensive cocktail list.

Lovely restaurant. Great ambiance. The scallops on betel leaves and the bug toast were stand out dishes. The food was all beautifully presented and tasty. Service was great. They cater well for pescatarians, although can't do the tasting menu for one only which was disappointing. Quite noisy but good atmosphere
Shared dinner with friends, prior to Macbeth over the road. Enjoyed cauliflower bites, baramundi, pear and cheese and several other dishes. Presentation excellent, taste delicious. Best meal so far in Brisbane
The whole experience was fantastic, they even catered for my Coeliac disease offering gluten free options throughout the whole 7 course degustation. The service was faultless, would highly recommend.
Just amazing place, vietnamese plus french great menu which has changed over the years but still has many favs. Still hope they will bring back pork belly with carrot puree :)
What a great night - fun and energetic atmosphere. We shared entree s, mains and desserts. The food was well balanced and had an element of fun in each dish. Highlights were the beef Bourgogne buns and the banana beignets. We had a refreshing cocktail to start with and then moved on to the recommended picpoul white wine after which was perfect. Service was just what you want at this style venue, fun and well versed in the product yet not intrusive. Next time we will go for the banquet which the table next to us was enjoying.
I don't understand why they don't validate your parking if you eat there? There is only free parking for two hours, yet this can sometimes be a burden when you are having fun with a group of friends...

Our recent visit on 10/6/16 was quite disappointing. We have been there a few times before and enjoyed the meals and service, but this time sadly it was a big let down. Some of our meals were cold, the jungle curry recipe has changed and was no where near as nice as it used to be and the service was lacking, despite being a relatively quiet night. Not sure we will come back.
We dined on the occasion of my son's birthday. Although it is not typically a "family" restaurant, children are still well catered for as some of the street food menu items are quite suitable and appealing for children.Especially after being told initially that because it's not a busy night tonight, it's alright to order from the a la carte menu. Considering there are 20 of us, could they really afford not to let us eat there?

Visited, while traveling, recommend to everyone! It's really busy place, atmosphere is brilliant and service really friendly. Make sure you take your time to relax and enjoy the experience! Pork belly was one of the best I ever had! Waitress took her time to make sure my order was right, as I have food intolerances. She then had a little chat with me, even tho it was busy.

some very delicious food, lots of choice on the menu and I really like the French/Asian fusion theme of the food as well as the sharing plate concept. All the dishes we had were lovely and the service was prompt, friendly and helpful. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was the expense of the drinks- which I know is pretty universal in Australian restaurants.

Food was yummy and atmosphere fantastic! I would have given 5stars if it weren't for the $9 charge for the water. They asked if I wanted water for the table and yes I did - still and not expensive sparkling. I know I should have said tap water but I kinda assumed they knew what I meant. Nowhere on the menu could I find the price of the still water but when checking my bank statement found that it was $9. Wish I knew so I could have taken it home.

My Wife and I had a wonderful time at Libertine. Food is amazing, great flavour combinations, nice and fresh. Cocktails are great. Strongly recommend the duck pancakes and san choi bao. Fantastic service.

Had a wonderful night out with good friends, ordered the I'm Hungry and let the chef decide, all dishes were delicious, meat tender and juicy, calamari so tender it melted in your mouth. Couldn't fault anything. We had cocktails on arrival at the bar and they were really good. Ambience is really nice, very comfy booth seating, nicely dimmed lighting, warm and despite being really busy the noise seemed to be absorbed as we could still hear each other talking. Attentive service from friendly staff, we will definitely return.
Picture this 2 year anniversary booked on line asked for a nice little romantic corner, got this lavish romantic booth. Food was amazing, try everything you wont be disappointed.

Decided on the 10 course banquet with the accompanying wines. It was simply amazing. The first 3 courses were so good, it left us hanging for the subsequent ones. Very satisfying and generous so definitely value for money. I think we just found another favorite.
Five stars for having a good selection of tasty gluten free dishes. There were some communication problems among the staff that they themselves admitted, and the "I'm hungry" menu is way too large, at least the gluten free version that we ordered. We had to bring home a large amount of the main dish in order not to throw away such good food.
I give 5 stars in the service, the waiter was at the top! The dishes are delicately presented, the desserts was fabulous!

This restaurant is a quaint place with excellent food and a pleasant atmosphere. The staff is very professional. A bit pricey, but we'll worth it.
Took the whole work team there this evening. Checked on several websites if they opened on Mondays. All said yes. Arrived with the team to a closed restaurant. What s the use in having opening hours on the official website?
Update: posting another star for a very prompt and informative reply from Andrew, thank you. We did check on Instagram, it turns out that there is another instagram account for your restaurant which, we imagine now is not affiliated with but through which your establishment is tagged so we did not see a message in regard to closure. Moreover, we did call on the very night to verify and we got half the message from the answering machine as it cut out. We went around the restaurant three times to check and did not see signs therefore apologies if they were there but unfortunately we did not see them. I hope in all sense of fairness, you may now understand our frustration.

Had the 7 course banquet, and went with huge expectations after all the positive reviews. But the food wasn't what we had hoped for. If you are after authentic viet-french food.. you will be disappointed.

Great food and service and great gluten free options
We went for a group party on a friday night. We decided on the 10 coarse banquet and were not disappointed. The first dishes were super tasty but I wasnt prepared for the sheer amount of food that arrived. I was super full by the time we were done with our mains but couldnt help but dig into the banana dessert which was definitely one of the highlights of the night.
Service was relaxed but efficient and we were all made to feel comfortable and welcome even though it was a really busy night. Great place for groups and excellent value for money. Make sure you bring your appetite!!
Great food and service although venue itself could be better. We had the 5 course banquet menu and was surprised at the volume and quality of food. Unfortunately the place was let down by the very dim lighting and stuffiness. It was a hot summer evening in Brisbane and for some reason they didn t have the aircon on. The tables near the door might have got some breeze, but we were stuck in the back corner that didn t get any. Would go back but probably only during winter.
Food was amazing but sadly they stuffed up our bill and it left a sour taste in what was a great experience.

The service was fabulous a very helpful and friendly waitress and the food stupendous! Our group asked to see the chef at the end of the lunch to give her a round of applause. I was commended by my friends for choosing a great restaurant for our get together. They will return with their friends.

Really very good food, a nice atmosphere and some very good drinks. Very good place - would go again.
Booked a group for a friends 30th Birthday. The food was amazing, however the service was very disappointing. Reservation was at 745pm, but the taxi was running 5-10 mins late, so we gave them a call. They were fine with this as the earlier seating had arrived late anyway so they pushed us back to 8pm. However, when we arrived at 8pm, the table wasn't ready and weren't seated until 830pm. Once seated, the waitress took our order and confirmed multiple times that we were all ordering the 5 course banquet.
On top of being seated late, the first course did not arrive until 930pm. Ordered 2 G&Ts and recieved the wrong drink.... we work in hospitality, mistakes can happen, so we politely requested that the correct beverage be brought out. We then had to wait 25 mins and after asking 2 more times where our drinks were, we were informed that the particular gin we ordered was out of stock...
The issues don't just stop here...
Once the third course came out, we realised straight away that it was not part of the 5 course banquet. We notified the waiter who then stated the 7 course banquet had been ordered through to the kitchen. Not sure how that could have happened because the order was confirmed multiple times in the beginning...
We were happy to drop 2 items and the dessert from the banquet to stick with the 5 course pricing. The floor manager then came out and was beyond unreasonable. She did not seem to care about the multiple service issues we had already encountered up to this point. After some back and forth interactions, she reluctantly discounted our meals from the 7 course to the 5 course and stated * please finish your food and drinks and leave* and put the bill on our table. This is while we are STILL EATING, not even close to finishing.
It is also important to note, that we specifically requested that the Birthday girl not be spoken to, as we didn't want her to stress over the customer service issues that were being caused by the restaurant. It is unbelievable and unacceptable, that even after being requested to not bother the Birthday girl, the floor manager hunted her down in the BATHROOM, to speak to her and make her feel bad about the customer service issues.
It is so disappointing as we all really enjoyed the great food, but the service was just so terrible.
We should note though, that there was a tall male waiter (should have gotten his name), who was very hellful and attentive.
We had friends who were waiting to hear how our experience was as they were wanting to try this place out. Needless to say, we will NOT be recommending this place to anyone.

Once again the food and service, were awesome.
We had the Spring Long Lunch $29 which was 4 courses of delicious food. It was just the right amount although I would have kept eating if it was there, so good. Lamb Dumplings, Truffle Chicken stir fry, Vietnamese Egg Rolls and Green Papaya Salad-all wonderful.
The service was excellent and as always accompanied by a bit of fun.
Food was excellent- it was a stadium day so the service was a little slow but they were overly busy.

Great service, amazing food, wonderful drinks (ones we had, there's a large selection) and we loved the look and feel of the place.
Seriously - could not fault anything. Every request we made was promptly categorised as "not a problem" and resolved with "happy to be of service".
The food was excellent, and when we realised we're ordered too much and sheepishly requested a takeaway container this was also handled immediately and with ease.
Strongly recommended and looking forward to our next visit.
