Amazing independent cinema also available for private hire. I have been to a couple of events there. The best being live flapper dancers for the great Gatsby movie

A small independent cinema, run by excellent volunteers. A very good selection of films are shown not just the blockbusters. It has a nice ambiance and has a selection of different seats, some are traditional cinema style others are more like a nice waiting area. All are comfortable. It has a nice bar with a good selection of beers and alcoholic drinks as well as soft drinks and hot drinks and snacks. The volunteer staff are all very nice and welcoming. It's well worth joining and visiting on a regular basis.
A great community cinema that contributes to charity. A mix of table seating and more traditional cinema seats. There is a bar too.
Great!
Agree with all the glowing reviews above. Very friendly and relaxed, close to Kensal Rise oground along a quiet street and profits go to charity.
A reason to go to the cinema more.
Excellent small cinema with bar, all profits go to charity
Very cozy place run by volunteers. Everyone is very friendly and the cinema room has a vintage atmosphere and good ambience
Lovely comfy local cinema. Holiday movies only a fiver. Brill.
Cracking local community cinema ran by volunteers. The bar has a good selection of drinks and snacks, and the cinema is nice and cosy. Get there early to get a decent seat!!
What a discovery! The Lexi is genuinely a lovely place to watch a film. Hard to describe: it's like a club - small, intimate, friendly and yet a proper cinema, too. Oh, and a little bar serving a choice of wines. You can tell a lot of care has gone/goes into it. I don't want to shout its praises too loud as it might get swamped! Easy to reach on either the Bakerloo or North London lines, too.
Cool charity cinema. Watched some good indie movies there.
This and the Everyman are the only places I watch movies now. Love the Lexi
Great great little cinema - cosy, friendly and reasonably priced yet charitable. Only issue is that I don't get there as much as I would like to!
Local cinema that is comfortable, has a bar, run by volunteers and raises money for a charitable cause.
Excellent and cheap went today the kids loved it and it was fraction of the price I would of paid in shepsherds Bush so happy
A little gem of a place, if only there were more like it.
Lovely independent, intimate cinema showing the best in art house, indie films.
Lovely tiny cinema. They donate all proceeds to charity too. Support such places!
This is a current favourite Odeon...
Not being right in the centre of things it is comfortably distant from the ever demanding West End.
The seating is great...opt for the recliner, well worth the extra buck.
Sales staff fab and cinefiles. Rare nowadays. Better here than on Panton Street.
A small but worthy cinema. Mostly run by volunteers, 100% of the profits go to a sustainablility charity in South Africa. Tickets are cheaper than the average multiplex but knowing that your money goes towards building better lives is a enough of a reason to come back weekly. The staff are great and they have a great bar too.
My favourite local cinema. Amazing selection of films and welcoming small friendly cinema
One of my all time favourite places to go
Great choice of films, comfirtable seating and a well stocked bar.Friendly staff.
I can walk from home which is Terrific but there is also a 52 bus out side it s door .
Fabulous little cinema. Why did I wait so many years before visiting. Charming place with great facilities and good value too. Give it a try.
Best cinema in London, and it is my local cinema. Large screen, great sound, bar available throughout , comfortable chairs , and tables at the front . Just like being in your front room , cosy .
Great little cinema, wonderful atmosphere and supporting of a worthy cause
Quirky cross between a cinema and your living-room!
Finally went to this cinema which has a lovely community feel. Only 75 seats. Not all comfortable! They show current movies and telecasts of Opera and The National Theatre. Become a member and save money. All proceeds go to charity.
A joyful experience every time. Wonderful volunteers, comfortable, roomy seating and a great charity.
If you want a more peaceful cinema environment, this is for you. Although the shows are limited compared to other bigger cinema, kids will love to go here
Its a lovely, cosy cinema! All profits go to a charity. Grab a bowl of popcorn and a drink from the bar and enjoy the latest movies!
The place is so cosy that you feel like at home.prices are reasonable and they contribute to help people in Africa.
Lovely cinema, very close to home and enjoyed watching movies from here.
Love the Lexi cinema, wonderful place to watch a movie!
Small and intimate. The staff are local volunteers! The cinema has a bar as well which we only went to see and the atmosphere looked pleasant. Overall it was a good experience.
Lovely 1 screen cinema staffed by volunteers and all for charity.
The screen and the sound were perfectly fine here, and the decor was nice, as was the charming bar. There's much to like about the space, and the front desk was friendly.
However, for me, the seats are woefully unergonomic: they're a few inches too tall, so your legs feel pressure behind the knee, and there's next to no back/lumber support - this is for the standard-style cinema chairs that make up about 60% of the seats at the Lexi. The other chairs are basic lounge/bar chairs. Sitting behind these rows isn't ideal because the occupants sit-up very vertically, which makes them hard to see over/around (I'm an average height of 5'10", just in case people think I'm a dwarf!).
The most off putting thing about this cinema is the other attendees - it was very busy, and the atmosphere was rather passisive-aggressive, with people being quite unpleasant when asking for seats. We watched one woman sternly fending off others in her attempt to reserve a seat for her friend, and causing a lot of consternation in the process.
I know profit's from this cinema go to charity, which is commendable, but perhaps as a consequence the audience has a rather moralistic attitude. Maybe I was expecting people to be friendly, but that was definitely not the case with the other cinema-goers. Gulp...you don't see this behaviour in your average Odeon!
I've no doubt that maybe if I were seeing a less of an arthouse film, the audience wouldn't have been so pretentious and rude and I would have given a better review here. But alas, it is an arthouse cinema, and I can only imagine the audiences are often a bit arsy
A wonderful Quaint Cinema with a with a warm atmosphere. A special place to watch the magic of movies.
Great little theatre for movies, lovely change from the big movie chains. Nice selection of beer too. Excellent place.
The Lexi is a gem of a place to watch movies. Unfortunately the last movie I saw there was a bit of a stinker (imo), but the venue itself is fantastic. Certainly one to check out and infinately better than your local multiplex.
A cosy cinema with a bar, all profits going to charity. What more could you want?
Portobello road a Lovely place to spend an Evening And The Market Friday Saturday
Not for profit cinema. The people working there are doing it for free. Great atmosphere, nice, homy venue. All sorts of movies but the high brow ones are normal events. If you can, don't spend your money on massive entertainment multinational... Go to Lexi
Small, independent local picture house with a lovely bar and friendly staff. All proceeds go to charity. What's not to like.
Nice local small cinema that gives all profit to charity. Run by volunteers that invariably means they're nice! 2 tier cinema. No allocated seating so get there early if it's full. Popcorn at the front desk. Bar at the back. Big individual seats. Candlelit tables at the front. Screen is quite high if you're in the first couple of rows.
Lovely cinema with very friendly staff, and 100% profits go to charity. They also have some themed nights and a nice bar.
Fabulous cinema, incredibly cosy. Has a really nice outdoor seating area for some drinks before the movie
Cute independent cinema. Comfy seats, grown-up vibe. And a lovely bar in the back
Such a gem. A great little cinema that provides in a big way! Not mainstream, but local and very bohemian.
Nice Independent cinema showing independent and foreign movies that are not main stream but fantastic.
Always a great place to see a film in a relaxed atmosphere. Great price too
An institution in kensal rise. Cozy independent cinema with an interesting selection of films changing every few weeks. I like the noon time screenings. Great for mothers or people not working mon-fri
Delightful small cinema with a bar warm and friendly
The Lexi Cinema truly is the archetypal great little place. Along Chamberlayne Road, past the gothic splendour of the Catholic Church of the Transfiguration, is Kensal Rise s Constitutional Club. Its old hall has taken on a remarkable new life. Inside is a gorgeous little cinema. With seats for 40 or so, it s hugely intimate and cosy, but with a sound system installed by the same chap who does U2 s tours and crisp digital projection, it s serious about the experience. Dangling from the ceiling is a mesmerising lighting installation by Bruce Munro, fading gently from one hue to another. It s a proper community here half the audience either know each other or know the Lexi staff, and there s a true feel of locals. Everyone chats before the film. The seats are comfy, with candlelit tables at the front, and each film is personally introduced, harking back to an era where you didn t just go and see a movie, you went out to the cinema. There are often Q&As with directors or added bits of theatre here and there; they even do a night where the New York Met Opera is beamed live to the assembled, black-tied, admirers.
What really sets the Lexi apart is its mission. All the profits, from tickets to drinks to popcorn, go to a South African charity called The Sustainability Institute which means they re probably the only cinema in London which actively encourages you to drink wine whilst watching a film. We ll take that. We won t say more, just go.
Fantastic independent cinema. Feels more like a private viewing than the usual chain cinema experience. Wonderful atmosphere, and generally more interesting films too.
Came to see 2040 and loved everything about the cinema. Excellent, relaxed atmosphere and the panel discussion at the end was highly informative!
Very quaint and lively place. Nice comfortable seats. Although food and drink prices are way too high.
Lovely local cinema. Great staff and great movies too. 5 stars.
Fantastically small and intimate cinema. Always check their website as the listings are quite limited.
Went to a private screening. Seats were comfortable and the auditorium had an intimate, human scale. A lovely community cinema.
A small cinema hall.It mainly for local people. Most of the profit of the hall shared for charity purpose.Interior is that much spacious.Staff behavior ok.Price is reasonable.Wash room facilities is good.Air Conditions is excellent.Design of building is very unique. For this reason it is easily noticble from Street.
A lovely small community cinema, great staff as well
Wonderful cosy place. Like sitting in your front room to watch a film. All armchairs! Went for the 1st time, saw Rocketman....brilliant! If you've never visited this cinema ..... GO! Staff are really friendly and helpful. Even has a bar! I really liked it there, so much so, I've become a member
Great little cinema. With roomy chairs and a bar where drinks can be bought during the film. There is even a little outside seating out of the back.
Comfy seats, nice team, kids popcorn is not over priced. I will be going again.
Amazing independent cinema with a fantastic event space for hire in Kensal Rise west London, so lucky its my local cinema, but worth the trip wherever you live in London. A great range of films and special events. Also the only social enterprise cinema in the UK!
