Blonde woman with a bun asked us to move down to the end of the bar twice to make room for people waiting for a table - we just wanted a causal night out with ordervs and a bottle of wine and were so rudely interrupted - I asked if there was a place at the bar for us to sit where we didn t have to move (twice in an hour) and she told us we do our best to accommodate everyone when she assumed we were waiting for a table. Never again.

Food was very good and service was excellent! We really enjoyed our scallop, hanger steak, pork schnitzel, and liver dinners. The creme brulee and profiterole desserts were also excellent. I highly recommend eating here.

Exceptional service and the food was out of this world. They have a menu that changes very frequently, so there is always a ton of new things to try. Fried oysters were amazing and I don't even like oysters.

I had the hangar steak. It was delicious and cooked to perfection. Diane had the French onion soup. This is our favorite restaurant.

Placed a pick-up order over the phone last night, and had an incredibly negative experience with the staff. I went into the restaurant to pick up my order and gave exact change, according to the price quoted over the phone. I did not add a gratuity, because there was no service (they didn t even bring the food out to the car, I went inside and picked up myself).

The staff came back after counting the payment and asked me if I would like to add a gratuity. I politely declined, explaining that it was just a pick-up. They then badgered me to add a tip, talking about how much effort they put in and saying they couldn t believe that I would not add a gratuity.

In my understanding it s very standard not to tip for pick-up orders, any food app you use will require a tip for delivery orders and suggest no tip for pick up.

The food was very good, and I would plan to go back more regularly if it were not for the horrible experience - I ll have to find a new restaurant to buy my holiday gift cards this year.

Exceptional restaurant in Rhinebeck. Never disappoints. I had the hanger steak with herb butter and frites - wonderful. pop had the halibut and risotto - nothing left. Sister had the mussels and frites, likewise outstanding.

One of the best restaurants in Rhinebeck New York. The food is great and the service is even better. Very creative menu and the staff goes out of their way to accommodate and make your visit pleasurable.

Every time we go here for dinner (once or twice a month) we are always greeted with warm smiles. (Even under their masks you can see the smiles). The staff is amazing, the food is always perfect. If you go to Rhinebeck I highly recommend you go to Le Petit! Jess is the best there, she goes above and beyond for you! And she makes a killer grasshopper cocktail!!!

Agree with other review ...place went downhill since expansion. Whoever did the renovation ruined the atmosphere. Very noisy and not cozy. Food did not seem the same as in the past. Perhaps the unattractive expansion caused chef to start cutting corners in the kitchen. Not the same feel, not the same food. Sad.
Long time customer who won't be coming back.

Service was phenomenal. The food and cocktails not so much. The server s description was so exciting! The chef s deliver did not live up to it. Even the cocktail; I asked for something sweet and got something so sour I couldn t finish it. Sorry, won t be back

My husband and I frequently dine at this wonderful bistro. There are no words that can adequately express how much we love the fine selection of wine, beverages, appetizers and entrees that are offered. My hubby loves the oysters, and we both adore the steak tartar. The selection of entrees is also great - one night they served amazing fried chicken, another night it was sublime duck, steak, or wonderful scallops. The desserts are wonderful - my husband loves them, and even though I cannot eat them due to my lactose intolerance, there is always a great selection of home made sorbets. Last Sunday, 11/01/20, I had grapefruit sorbet and it was delish. What makes this place even more wonderful are the staff! I can't say enough about them other than that they exemplify customer service, professionalism and warmth. In these crazy times, that means the world. Thanks so much!!!!!

Our friends joined us for dinner to celebrate my Brides birthday. The place is beautifully done and we were pampered by the entire staff. Our waitress Jess, was incredible!! She answered all questions and was especially personable and made the evening a memorable one. However, she was outdone by our dinners. My Bride and I had the Pork Chop and Pork Schnitzel dinners. I completely cleaned my plate and Jess wrapped my Brides so she could enjoy it tomorrow. (Which she did!!) We will be back and highly recommend this restaurant!!

We were a party of 4 for an anniversary event on Thurs. nite. The whole meal was a disaster:
a. Mussels served without plates.
b. 2 Entrees were served w/ the appetizers for some reason relating to the computer system.
c. The other 2 entrees were served about 30 to 40 minutes later.
d. The duckling was dry.
e. The shrimp were over cooked.
f.. The waitress was MIA..(I don't blame her).

A complete waste of time and money.

This is a fine dining experience in a rustic setting. Fantastic food, attentive and friendly staff. A bit pricey on the wine but needed it with my meal for an excellent pairing. Duck needs to be a bit crispier. Rating this place harder than others because it is on a higher level than most restaurants. Will make this a regular date spot. (Ok, 4.5 stars)

The food and service is top shelf. We have had dinner as well as brunch and were very happy with the quality and freshness of the food as well as the knowledge and kindness of the service staff.

With outdoor seating, Rhinebeck has become the Paris of the Hudson. The dinner last night at Le Petit Bistro was perfect. A walnut and apple salad -- fresh and delicious with wonderful dressing and big enough to share. Followed by a hangar steak cooked right with perfect frites and some yummy fresh green beans thrown in. Their signature cocktail, the cigarillo, will keep me coming back -- plus the service was excellent, friendly and attentive. I'll be back.

The food was delightful and the portions were generous. The staff was very friendly and very attentive. This restaurant completely changed my image of French dining. Oh...and the dinner rolls stream out of the oven without end!

Rude and insulting chef and part owner listened to our comments and said this conversation must cease and desist. Offered an insult and walked away. Went back to the bar to laugh with his friends. Never going back. Many other choices without the arrogance. Keep walking.

There is reason why the Bistro has been in business as long as they have. Genuine hospitality, warm and friendly staff and the food is delicious. Fresh, well prepared and seasonal specials make it a no miss in Rhinebeck.

I love this restaurant. The strip steak is the best in the entire area. The creme bruelee is to die for! The waiters, waitresses and hostesses all work together so service is exceptional. Yes its kind of pricey but the meal is always good and never disappointing.

Le Petit Bistro is a good restaurant but a total fail on New Year's. We waited 40 minutes for our 8:30 reservation only to be told they were out of 4 of the 8 items on the "special" menu which was basically their regular menu only the price was more than double!!!!! After another long wait we were told they were out of the osso buco and we had to choose another item, only to watch the table next to us get the osso buco 15 minutes later!?!? Can we say Seinfeld episode???

A staple of the area and with good reason. I sat at the bar, the bartender took great care of me. Even though I came right before closing, there was no rush and the service was relaxed as ever. She gave me her recommendations which I try and always follow. The monkfish was out of this world, sublime preparation and a lovely sauce to finish. Certainly on my list to return to!

I meet friends in this lovely place quite often! This is my favorite spot to have a bite. I visit this place routinely. The meals are excellent, the staff members are welcoming and the charge is fair. I enjoy going in this spot for a good lunch.
