What a nice find. Who knew upstate was such a hot bed of French cuisine. Maybe it's the C.I.A being nearby we were very pleased. No reservations so we sat at the bar and had an excellent time. Service is very good.

Not so petit anymore. But the food has great presence, service was fantastic and expert and the surrounding were lovely. Some of the entrees can be had at appetizer size ( and price). Our party of five had a wonderful evening. Oh, did i mention the incredible rolls?

Excellent. We went two nights in a row! Great service, incredible food and beautiful space. Highly recommend the strip steak au poivre, steak tartare, fresh oysters and cheesecake. It s so important to support restaurants during these difficult times, and Le Petit Bistro goes above and beyond!

The food was done perfectly. Everything was hot, and the Hanger steak was cooked perfectly. The beet salad was tasty, and enough to share. The service however, was slow and spotty. The waitress had too many tables, and was not aware of the needs of this party of five. Over all because the food was excellent I felt it deserved 4 stars, would hope more wait staff could help with the service problem

Great atmosphere and the food was lovely. the menu is on a small chalkboard and provided at your table so you don't have to touch anything which is a nice move to help with the Covid spread. The drinks were wonderful and so was the schnitzel and the mushroom risotto. Also went for brunch and it was just as lovely. This place is right in the heart of Redhook and a good place to go for a quality bite to eat followed by a stroll through the village. Plenty of shops around and parking is near by as well. If have never had a schnitzel I highly recommend you treat yourself to one. It's perfectly cooked and presented just like it would be in Europe.

Great restaurant with definite bistro atmosphere. Don't expect a quiet intimate dinner as the place can be quite noisy and you will likely be seated very close to other diners. Short printed menu, however the specials list is just as big. Attentive staff and tasty food. Opens at 5pm- go early for a quieter experience. A reservation may net you one of the few booths.

Very disappointing. Our first visit since the expansion, though we had eaten here many times before, and we were immediately overwhelmed by the noise. However, we were seated in the quieter, old section, so that wasn't too bad. It took a while for anything to happen apart from being served water - it seemed there were far too few staff. Nobody asked if we wanted a pre-dinner drink. We eventually ordered, and the starters were excellent, though they took a while to arrive. There were problems with the main course, which were eventually resolved, but I have to say the experience was *nothing* like it was before, and I doubt we will eat there again. Such a shame.

We thought the service and the food were
mediocere. The bar tender seemed completely under trained .He forgot our oysters and then served them with our entres at the bar where we were eating.
Plus the escargots were completely dried out. Very bad for a presumably French restaurant.

best restaurant in Rhinebeck. There are many good ones, but none are as consistently excellent as Petit Bistro. The renovations make the ambiance a 10. (though maybe a little busy on weekends for quiet romantic meal). Great Job!

Staying in Rhinebeck for a few days. Ate at 4 or 5 different places in town. This one blew them all away. Great atmosphere, even with covid restrictions in place. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, which is appreciated if you are unfamiliar with french cuisine.

Food was awesome. Mostly french with a few other dishes. We had fresh oysters (from Massachusetts) and escargot as an app. Delicious. For dinner, schnitzel (a reco by our waitresd - did not dissappoint) and Cuban Roast Pork, with plaintains. Both awesome! A great selection of house made desserts to boot. What a great find.

If you are in Rhinebeck, highly recommed trying this place.

We've lived in Rhinebeck for 18 years now and go to the Bistro on a regular basis. It's our favorite restaurant in the Hudson Valley. We've never been disappointed by a meal there. The staff is skilled and the level of service is excellent. The food is fresh, local, seasonal and expertly prepared. Their newly expanded and restored space has become one of the cornerstones of the village. Love this place.

Went for a drink and ended up having dinner at the bar. We both had the hanger steak cooked medium. The steak came exactly as we ordered and was tender and flavorful. The portion size was perfect and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. I would highly recommend this place.

This place is great. Steak was cooked beautifly and the cheese plate was a really great. Brunch was equally delicious. All of our side were fresh and went well with the main dish. Good portions, you won't go home hungry...I can imagine there was lots of butter used. Staff lets you take your time and have a certain relaxed nature, which while might be a turn off to some, is very reminiscent of bistro staff in Paris. Only cons: It is pricy and the atmosphere in the back (think Japanese Steak House) is heavily in juxtaposition to the food.
