Good people, good program. We need people and programs like these!

I'm grateful that there is a place that helps, but my assigned attorney was more interested in getting us done and over with than actually giving a damn.

My lawyer Dan was more worried for the landlord than for me. My landlord violated my rights by not fixing broken and damaged. He was more interested in te landlord getting the money i owed than getting my apartment fixed. he then calls me saying i havent started my payments when he never sent me anything.Not sure if the whole place is full of these types of people but i wouldn't recommend going to them.

Jennifer took my case from lily. She conceded and did nothing. The guy she said she would have call me too come take photos called the afternoon of my a.m. court date. She is a lazy lawyer and just looking to get cases under her belt. I could have done as bad on my own. Jennifer is a landlords lawyer not for the tenant

Not all the help that you need, specially in your concerns.

There when u need if cannot afford to hire your own lawyer. Staff is very friendly. And what I most like is there a security guard right in the front down to make you feel safe. The gentleman I spoke with today made things very clear for me to understand that he is going to work with me and the attorneys for the property manager.

This organization is one of the most competent set of professionals in San Diego. Their staff of lawyers brings together both the law and an understanding of their clients concerns to Superior Court. It is with great respect that I highly recommend this society.

Used it to help my mom with some tenant issues she was having. The initial phone assessment is a bit too in-depth/long in my opinion. My Mom is Spanish speaking and not the best self-advocate therefore we were on a 3-way call. Though the representative was Spanish speaking my mom had a hard time hearing/understanding the questions; when I would jump in to help, the representative would basically scold me to put my Mom back on the phone even tho I told her we were on a 3 way call and I was gna be the one helping her address the tenant isse. Once the assessment is complete, you are transferred to an actual legal aid representative. The legal aid rep was GREAT!! He understood that we were on a 3 way call and that I was helping going to be helping my Mom thru this therefore allowed me to ask questions and get further clarification. So in the end the call was worth it; you just have to remain patient and get thru the assessment before getting your legal question answered.

Difficult to find if you forget your phone. But we'll worth your time in location discovery. They provide free legal services for those who would otherwise have no legal representation in civil matters. We need more lawyers willing to work pro Bono in our community. Even to dedicate a dozen hours a year would be wonderful. So many cases are never heard before the courts that have not only merit but standing.Our current "legal system" fly's in the face of Due Process when there's not Justice for all! Let's work to change it so paridy is seen, felt, and experienced by all!

I have NO health insurance due to a person from Legal aid. My information was messed up, I was told I could keep my primary doctors, and past plan. I was sceptical but was told not.to worry.
Well my old plan cut me off on December 31, 2018, and after numerous calls to, Department of health services, kaiser, medi-cal, I tried to get in contact with this person from legal aid. The number she gave me back in December does not work, and calling the main number will get you a voicemail, but no return call. I have pre existing severe conditions that need medication, and the days I have spent trying to get anyone to look into what has happened has worn me out!

In pain with arthritis and a full cataract in left eye , and all my medications are gone. Including my high blood pressure.
Why this person from legal aid is hiding is beyond me. Please do not go to them regarding health insurance. I am VERY sorry I did:((

Lawyer would not let me talk; she asked a question about my issue and cut me off after 2 words! I told her in a loud roar goodbye.

Offering the community GREAT legal services at little or no cost. My suggestion would be to get there early in the day, because it does get VERY BUSY.

Pretty place for help they do everything that they can to help you in a situation that you can't help yourself try it out if you need to I'd recommend it

How else or why go elsewhere? when you have professionals,you get professionals who work for you.. They show nothing but the best about who they are and what they stand for and that is standing for our rights the citizen, tenant, renter,leasee, sub-let.

We have delt with 3 legal aid attorneys due to landlord mistakes (closing and reopening cases) and the first two were okay, the last attorney was lazy and didn't want to go to court, he tried to scare us into moving out and it was obvious he just didn't care and didn't want to fight for our rights. Perhaps we got this guy because we were already in there before, but if you have habitability issues, do not let these attorneys make you settle with a bad landlord, it's better to have a judge order them to make repairs. We signed a stipulation that didn't protect our rights and we ended up getting a really bad deal, now we have an eviction despite paying them off. It was horrible. I basically was my own lawyer the whole time. If you can afford an attorney please try David McCarthy, he's affordable and will actually defend you without fear.

They dont "aid". Barely answer questions. Just give you names and numbers for other people that will actually help.

Legal aid for the people of the community. Focused on rights and correcting wrongs public defenders even a person without monies to afford legal fees deserve legal representation, defense counsel, and an advocate to speak for the unrepresented or the wrongly accused.

I love legal aid they've helped me through everything through my housing through my disability through my job through everything legal aid of always been there for me and they're all fighters especially the ones in San Diego
