Im putting two stars only for the view from the window !!! The food was horrible! I would never go eat in that restaurant again !!!! We were four and ordered four different dishes and they all were horrible!!! The service was fine .
A very upscale place that has great food in reasonable portions. The view is absolutely incredible! There isn't a lot of available parking so make sure your vehicle is ready for valet parking. It can be a bit pricey but this is an excellent place for a romantic night out with your special someone. The food selection is varied and there are plenty of great choices for desert. Get a window seat!
Excellent food, great service, outstanding views, interesting menu with variety. My wife and I love LeMont for celebrations and look forward to our next visit.
We complained about an experience at LeMont and they sent us a very, very generous gift card as an apology. It shows they care very much about keeping their clients happy, which can t be said about a lot of restaurants.
We love it! The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive, polite and her accent made us feel like we were in Europe somewhere. Definitely we will go back.
Great views but that's about it. Below average food. Staff isn't too friendly. Decor is nice at first glance but is all kind of dirty. Crusty soap dispensers. Feels like a nice place for the 80s maybe. Archaic and bland. Go spend your money at one of the many other options Pittsburgh offers.
We had our wedding here October 9th and it was fantastic! We had it booked for over a year. Bill was great answering any questions along the way. The cake was included, we chose exactly what we wanted it to look like and the cookie and cream filling was delicious. You cannot beat the view of the city and pictures turned out beautiful. As an added bonus, you'd be shocked to find out how reasonably priced this venue is. The day of, the staff were so friendly. I remember at one point i just got done saying i wish i would've had time to get some appetizers and low and behold i sit down at our table for dinner and they saved some for us! I would recommend the LeMont to anyone looking for a venue!
We had our wedding reception at Le Mont at the end of July and could not be happier. Bill helped us plan the whole thing from out of state and took care of everything! We didn t have to worry about a thing. He recommended an awesome florist. Due to COVID, we didn t have a wedding planner, but we didn t need one at all. We dropped everything off to Bill in the morning and he and his team made sure to set everything up. Our bartender and server, Don, was incredible! He was so attentive and had a great personality. My husband and I got our first dance and We re able to cut our cake as well as have our own sweetheart table. Thank you so much Le Mont staff, for making our reception absolutely amazing during this crazy time.
This is probably the best restaurant for the Pittsburgh view only. Food is awful. You certainly expect a lot from a restaurant with this elegant decor, view and the prices on the menu but everything is a big disappointment. Having my home made sandwich while having the same view at the park next to LeMont is exactly a better option.
The view is the only thing worth going for. The food was horrible. I was robbed with the price of the menu. I had very dry lamb and under cooked veggies. One of the waiters dropped a spoon on the floor when he was cleaning anther table. For the next half hour he would kick the spoon as he walked by. He know what he was doing not like he did not see it on the floor. I wanted to get a vid of him kicking the spoon but he look like he was part of the mob and would put hit on me. Skip this place very over rated.
Me and my family went to this resturant and reserved a table by the window with the best view of the downtown Pittsburgh. We got to the resturant 15 minutes before our reso, and waited almost half an hour, which is expected, I guess, of a beautiful resturant on a Saturday night, and as soon as we were seated we were attended to quickly by our server with a delightful atmosphere. The server was pretty much patient with us and frequently checked up on us as expected. The down part of our night was that the food had a horrible taste to it, not sure if it was suppose to taste like card board or not, but that really brought our whole evening downhill, because that was the day that we were fasting and had not eaten since morning, so we were really hoping to eat something with better quality. It might have been just our choice of food but we ordered a variety of salads and seafood as well as some entrees, so it's hard to justify that it was just our selection of food that was wrong. Overall, the service was great the atmosphere was wonderful and the designs of the resturant was beautiful as well as the view but the one thing I suggest changing in that resturant is maybe the flavors of the foods.
Gorgeous view of downtown Pittsburgh from an old school Classic dining room. Food on the other hand was nothing to write home about. They have a Fall Special menu that reminded me of Restaurant Week in NYC Even though their online menu More
One of the best views to enjoy in Pittsburgh while dining. I really enjoyed both of my experiences here. We rented out a room and had a buffet and it was good. Being served in the dining area was even better. They had great food and a good selection of wine and drinks. You can valet at this restaurant and I recommend it. Street parking can be hard to find.
We had our daughter's small wedding at LeMont and everyone at the restaurant was so attentive and the waiter, Marco, was excellent. We dined in the main dining room and it was very nice. The food was excellent, perfectly prepared and served quickly. The view was amazing. They definitely helped to make our daughter's special day even more special.
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!! Food was delicious and nice portions. Staff is superior! The view of the city of Pittsburgh, the rivers, and the stadiums is breath taking!
My girlfriend and I travel every year for our anniversary and we had the best dinner we could have asked for. The view goes without saying as the best one in Pittsburgh, but along with that was the spectacular service given to us by the team at LeMont. Visit, enjoy, absorb the experience. You won't be disappointed.
I was disappointed with my experience at Least Mont. My mother is terminally I'll and we were having our last gathering with friends and family so naturally we wanted the experience to be extravagant. From the start, the were not a great help in planning the party or assisting in menu choices. They were aware my mother was in a wheelchair and everything needed to be wheelchair accessible. When we arrived our room had steps to see the great view. Drinks were overpriced and the food was much less than I imagined it to be. The steaks were almost olunedible and the chicken was a disgrace. Most of my guests were unhappy with their experience as was I. My mothers last gathering was not as successful as id hoped and we will not be returning.
wonderful atmosphere, service was great as well. Food was what I expected from this fine dining establishment, will be returning with friends soon for the the holiday season!!
I now know why this is a five star restaurant. The food is to die for, the service is superb, and the view is awesome. We went there to celebrate an anniversary, and were treated like royalty. I took my five year old granddaughter and they treated her like she was a princess. This was truly a wonderful experience for all of us and I would whole heartedly recommend it!
Fancy and expensive. Awesome view of the city. Had a reservation at 9pm and was not sat until after 1030. Food was good... not great. We got the shrimp platter which came with 4 jumbo shrimp for $24. Lobster mac n cheese was awesome. Valet guy was nice. Tom our server was great too.
It has a beautiful view, but the rest of the decor leaves MUCH to be desired. The management needs to spend the money and give that place a much-needed update.
Went here as service awards dinner from my former employer.(as I have recently retired). The food, the view, the servers...all awesome! Pittsburgh at it's finest.
Recently I was lucky enough to have been included in a fantastic Yelp Elite event at Pittsburgh s Le Mont. Both the Yelp and Le Mont teams were very generous to treat us to a full dining experience! I m sharing my first experience at this Mount Washington institution known for elegant dining and beautiful views of downtown Pittsburgh.
Before the meal, our group of Yelp Elite was addressed by the manager. She was very casual, and shared some of Le Mont s history with us. She shared that they pride themselves on delivering a high class experience, and are now shifting to appeal to a younger crowd and expand what they re known for.
To become more accessible and attractive to a younger crowd, Le Mont is now offering a seasonal celebrations menu with three- course, pre-fix meal cost of $38! This should be advertised more, as most deem the Le Mont as too costly when this option is much more affordable. Le Mont as a classic institution does have a very basic menu, this celebration menu offers more fun and festive options.
The food was delicious and great quality! The wait staff was friendly and pleasant and cracked jokes. I m really glad I got to experience the food and service at Le Mont.
Overall if you re looking for a traditional and elegant dining experience in Pittsburgh, with a view Le Mont is great. The consensus at my table of multi-generational Yelp Elites, was that Le Mont does have a bland almost boring menu. It s just a bit old-fashioned. Their celebration menu was really needed, now that Pittsburgh is abuzz with so many dynamic dining options (aren t we lucky that we have the luxury of being choosy?!). The Le Mont menu needs to continue offering a little more pizzazz, to truly be able to diversify and attract a younger clientele.
Nice view and the food was good. The dishes are huge.. could not finish half. We walked in Saturday without a reservation and they seated us quickly. Wine by the glass was advertised as 2013 however, the actual bottle was a 2017. Valet Parking is easy however for the restaurant guests it s not complementary.
Le Mont Restaurant. My first visit with a party of more than ten, this last Saturday. The grandeur of the restaurant reflects the five-star rating as I was told that it is; however, I must compare it with five-star restaurants from NYC, Toronto and Shanghai, in order to give it a proper review. The panoramic view which the dining room offers is truly spectacular. The grandeur of the room captivates you and transports you to a time long pass. In my business, service sells, and good people pay for good service. I had to leave early and spoke to the maitre d about leaving my credit card with a young lady to pay my portion of the bill. I advised that my bill would have a tip between $200 and 300 dollars and so it was. It went smoothly. Our waiters/attendants did a great job, Marco was very attentive and respectful. I believe that a certain young waiter may need to have his skills refreshed, being too fast can have ill consequences, for example spilling food on the person of honour and advising a simple sorry and moving on, would not qualify you to serve at a five star restaurant. I understand how it works, but remember the patrons are your job. For me, my medium rare filet minion was done exactly how I do it with more crust(bark) and I think it may have been sitting too long, before I tasted the glorious meat. I took about 8 minutes to get to it, because I carry the food that I cook on my phone and demonstrated my steak filet to a Pittsburgh businessman in conversation, at my table. The taste was good, the bacon was a great addition. I had ordered a drink, other than water and after the first, I requested another, at that time I was told that they were out of that brand and suggested that I try another, to which I declined, making the comment to Marco, that that s not done at all. To say the least, I was charged for two drinks when I looked at the bill the following day. I would call this an oversight. It happens . Marco did pack up my dessert for me to take away, as time was quite short for me. I will be returning, to be fair and make subsequent updates to my rating and reviews. One thing I did notice is that there was no strict dress code. I recall being loaned a jacket before entering a dining room years ago. I was dressed in a long-sleeved shirt and tie but had left my jacket at the hotel. But then, that was almost 30 years ago.
We enjoyed an anniversary dinner at this beautiful restaurant on Mt. Washington that provides a stunning view of Pittsburgh and the junction of the 3 rivers surrounding it. The service was impeccable and the food delicious. We chose from the Celebration Menu which provided for a three course meal at a reasonable price. We had steelhead trout ricotta and veal & shrimp were both generous in size and delicious. The atmosphere was lovely except the trio that was playing was quite loud. This is an excellent place for a special dinner!
LeMont is always great. Had a great dinner and our waitress was fantastic Denise was her name and she was great. Will always go back not just for the view but for the food and service.
The restaurant was a beautiful very classy place. Service was excellent but prices were a bit high. Filet mignon was cooked perfectly but I did not like the mashed potatoes that came with the meal. Seemed like they had been sitting on the plate for some time and were a bit hard and cold. Other than If your looking for a classy place with a beautiful view and live music the Lemont will not disappoint. Be prepared to dig a little deep if you plan to indulge.
This is the worst place to eat and some of the waiters are idiots! As our waiter walked by our table, he noticed a cloth napkin on the floor, he picked it up and put in on a plate on the table. I would have chewed him out, but I was at a banquet and did not want to make a scene. I guess being sanitary is not an option there. I quiver to think what goes on in the kitchen!
Portion control in not a priority either, I had their salmon and my portion was about 1/2 the size that a friend had. It was horrible! The person setting beside me had 2 crab cakes, ate half on one and said it was not very good, offered me the other on and I took it and he was right, NASTY!
The filet mignon that the person to the right of me had looked about as dry as could be.... Eating most anywhere else would have been better!
If you are a stuck up socialite, the gets too drunk to taste the food and has money to burn, it might okay, but otherwise, find another place to eat where you can enjoy your dinner.
The view was nice, but that is it! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT WAIST YOU TIME GOING HERE! IT IS NOT WORTH 1/10 THE PRICE THEY CHARGE!
