We had our second wedding reception here for my wife side of the family. The coordinator was responsive, accommodating and responsive.

The event went off without a hitch. They guided through the entire evening so the event was seamless. Bar and table staff was friendly and accommodating. They also had great personalities, especially the bar tender!

Food was great, no complaint there, and so was the cake! The let us play our music, dance, eat and drink the night away.

This is a very posh restaurant. The wait staff wears suits. Everyone was very friendly attitude. The view is breath taking. The food was delicious and very pleasing to the eyes. If your looking to propose to your special someone this is the place to do it. I would suggest making a reservation.

It's getting a 3 because of the great service and amazing view. Filet with crab meat was dry and tasteless. Desserts tasted straight from a grocery store. The staff is FANTASTIC, but the food is very average and not worth the price. We'll never go back when there are dozens of delicious restaurants in the city.

The gorgeous view adds a lot to the rating for this restaurant, it really is a beautiful way to see Pittsburgh. The restaurant interiors are fancy, but showing their age. The wait staff, while doing their best, always seem to look rough around the edges in their tuxedos that have seen better days. The food is pretty good. With some updating this could be a great restaurant rather than pretty good.

Chain restaurant quality food with a 1970's fine dining aesthetic.

FIRST IMPRESSION:
My family went to LeMont for my sister's graduation dinner and had high expectations considering it had an excellent reputation. The first thing you will notice upon entering the restaurant is the staff wears tuxedos that would greatly benefit from either A) being thrown in the trash or B) being introduced to a tailor. I was then introduced to a saggy-tuxedo wearing waiter in desperate need of a haircut.
It doesn't exactly bode well for the rest of the dinner.

SERVICE:
My sister asked about the vegetarian options (she's not one, just thought they sounded good) she saw listed on the online menu. The waiter did not know about vegetarian options and hesitantly said he could ask the chef.
When desert time came, he asked us if we would like to see the desert cart. A cart of cakes they wheel around to every table, exposed to the air. Again, we saw quite a few more deserts on their online menu, and asked about the creme brulee, souffle, and bananas foster. The waiter told us we should have asked for the souffle when we ordered our meals, so A)He failed to inform us about it and B)It was not listed on a menu, anywhere, other than online.
Subpar wait staff.

FOOD:
The escargot tasted of garlic and nothing else. It was almost inedible. A good garlic butter sauce is classic for escargot. This was NOT good.

My sister ordered the french onion soup. She thought the Applebee's french onion soup tasted better. She said," How do you underseason french onion soup?"

The Caesar salad was awful and a very small portion. Again, all I tasted was the Worcestershire sauce in the dressing. The kitchen was 0/3 in the appetizers.

I ordered the veal. It was slimy, overcooked, and underseasoned. The vegetables had an odd, faded color to them. The potatoes were the best part of the dish because they were...seasoned!

The same vegetables were on every single plate, regardless of the protein. Not impressed for something called "fine dining" with such pathetic presentation too. I've seen prettier presentation on some of the worst episodes of Kitchen Nightmares.

The deserts were edible. So congratulations Le Mont. We spent $350 for a party of 5, and it felt like we were robbed.

If you want a great French dining experience, I would recommend staying far, far away from this place.

A very classy restaurant with expertly displayed meals. Wonderful taste with much time and effort into making it. The overall feel of LeMont is wonderful to be in and open, well done with scenery, food, and service!

My husband and I went to LeMont for his birthday dinner last night. The building is beautiful, and as soon as you enter, you're hit with 1920's French nostalgia, and the service is lovely. We were seated for our meal, ordered cocktails and beer, and an appetizer. Meanwhile, the bread came out and was warm and looked inviting. However, one bite into it and it became clear that it wasn't baked recently, as it was tough, extremely salty, and tasted a bit stale. The Chef's special appetizer was shrimp and crab with almonds in an oil based wine sauce, and was very underwhelming (particularly for costing $22). Our dinner came out, I had ordered their pesto red snapper and my husband ordered their filet mignon. The snapper wasncooked well, but a little cold and soggy. Further, my potatoes were extremely hot in some places and cold in others. The green beans were delicious, but the carrots were a bit underdone and under seasoned. For dessert, I had the mocha cake, which is LeMont's play on tiramisu. The cake was light and airy, but unfortunately. . . Underwhelming. The espresso taste was hardly there, most of the taste came from the vanilla buttercream. Overall, the service was great and the place is beautiful, the food is just underwhelming, especially for its high prices.

Great place for a wedding reception but ladies bathroom was out of service no flushing toilets. Disgusting for such an expensive establishment. No alternatives given. No free parking valet was fast though. Food was great. But not being able to use bathroom made this 5 star establishment a 3 for me. Great view of the city

Came here for Restaurant Week and we weren't necessarily disappointed, but not satisfied. Both appetizers were fine, nothing to write home about (asparagus soup with cheddar cheese and a salad). The bread that came out didn't seem anything different than a variety pack in the frozen section of giant Eagle. Main dishes were good (pork tenderloin Asian style and a fish), but nothing screamed "I want this again". Desserts were lackluster. The Creme Brule wasn't under the torch long enough to caramelize all the sugar and it was glassy looking on top but a layer of granulated sugar underneath. I had a funnel cake and I sent it back and asked for the sorbet.... It wasn't crispy or airy... Tasted chewy and almost stale. But overall the meal wasn't bad, just nothing to inspire a second visit. Our server Mark was spectacular! Couldn't have asked for better.

Went for restaurant week specials. Wife and I had surf and turf with salad and sorbet . We were both underwhelmed with our meals . The atmosphere was grand , the service was excellent but the food was average at best. If you go, for the view and a drink at the bar.

I had a fabulous time! My server Beth was very knowledgeable of every meal and was sweet. I must say, each and every person there was attentive and kind. Food was great ..drinks were better!

Attended a beautiful wedding there. Atmosphere beautiful, food just ok. Most staff nice. One bartender when i went to get a drink was standing there behind bar talking about a guest being a "chunko" and correcting on him on calling filet of beef, pork. Thought it was so rude. He should be fired for lack of common sense and rudeness to patrons!
Being in the business for 30years, if he was my employee I would of fired him on the spot!

I give it 2 stars.....1 for the view and the other for the view. It was a Saturday Night and they had part of the restaurant sectioned off for a wedding with a make shift partiin. Once the band started playing, I could barely hear my guest that was sitting across the table from me. After appetizers, it was so annoying that we requested to be moved. Never expected the atmosphere of a so called higher end restaurant to be this for a $200 meal. As they prepared food tableside, we witnessed one of the waiters wipe the butter off the knife into the skillet with his fingers, then proceed to cook beef medallions for another table. At this point I was ready to go. The chef's special wasn't special. The fish was overcooked and the lobster tail was cold. Our waiter even knew that it wasn't a pleasurable evening for us. He tried to make the best of it, probably in hopes of salvaging a decent tip. I travel 8 to 12 nights a month, and this by far is one of the worst experiences I've had in a long time. If it wasn't for the beautiful view of downtown Pittsburgh, I don't know how this place would stay in business.

Date night Feb.21; my dining experience was awesome, the food was excellent, the waiter Marco C. treated my wife and I with top notch service, and we are planning a return visit in the future.

My fiancee and I are relatively new to the city and have been try different restaurants. The food, service and atmosphere at this restaurant were all amazing. The food was expensive but worth it for a nice occasion and the drinks weren't horribly priced for the caliber of restaurant it is. Not to mention the view! But the unfortunately it was hard to enjoy all of the great things about this restaurant because they seated us in a table half the size of tables other couples had that was stuffed in a cramped corner at the bottom of a handicapped ramp with one of the seats turned completely away from the view and the beautiful decore and pointed so there was large cast iron railing right in my face. The table it self squeaked every time you touched it but not as loudly as my chair which felt like it was about to fall apart ( I am not a large man either). I didn't want to complain and draw attention but also was shocked that such an overall great restaurant with multiple awards for their hospitality hanging as soon as you walk in would ever seat any guests at such an embarrassment of a table.

The interior of the restaurant is French elegance styled. The entire restaurant has a view that overlooks Pittsburgh downtown. The food was lacking for the price paid. It was $150 for 2 people. The price is for the view and attentive service.

The drinks could have used more or better garnishes. The pomegranate and blueberry martini came with blueberries skewered on a purple plastic sword like you would find in a diner. The drinks were strong.

The steak was overcooked. The lovely dungeness crab flavor was lost in the overwhelming acidity of the tomato sauce.

The asparagus with the entrees were overcooked to the point of losing color. The mashed potatoes that were torched on the outside could be picked up as a whole without breaking apart. They were not creamy nor soft whatsoever.

The creme brulee did not have vanilla bean and some of the sugar was still granulated. The funnel cake ala mode was less crispy than some funnel cakes sold at travelling carnival stands.

It all just feels outdated and like the place is unwilling to adapt foodwise. It was beautiful though. Visually it is a winner. I would not go back.

We had our wedding reception at here. First of all the the location is one of the best in Pittsburgh. Walking into the reception and seeing the amazing view of the Pittsburgh skyline was a major reason for choosing this venue. Bill & Tony were wonderful to plan with. Every one of our special requests was taken care of. The staff was excellent and the service provided by them was top notch! Everyone was raving about the food! It tasted amazing and the selection to pick from was great! Price was very reasonable for the quality of the food, service, and venue. Many of our guests cannot stop talking about how great the overall experience was!

The only reason I gave is 2 stars is because of the service and the view. Everything else was horrible. My scallops were gritty for $60 a plate their food is very bland and over cooked not happy with this place at all. Won't be going back.

The menu was varied and food was excellent. Prices are high as advertised but quality and service lives up to the reputation!!. We asked for a view window and got it. All 10 of us got our meals almost simultaneously! A great job service, seating and cusine!

Not exactly sure how to feel because I've never shared a negative review of a place before let alone one that claims the 5 star title. My fiance and I booked a table for Valentine's day for the view of the city. The atmosphere of the place was posh and generally things were okay but there was no justifying the 200$ we paid for food. I've definitely had better platings and better food in general at places that cost less Nothing was awful but definitely not impressive. Near the end of the night... I kid you not... a mouse ran across the floor right in front of me and hid under the table right next to us and I literally exclaimed out loud in front of a waiter. He comped some drinks for us but honestly seeing a mouse in a 5 star place is a no no. I feel like our whole dinner should have been comped bc I'm pretty sure that's a health hazard but I'm not "that guy" so I let it slide and had a laugh over it. I have to say the night was funny as ever and my fiance and I had a great time... so I have to tack an extra star on this. Wouldn't go back.... book at Altius months in advance instead.

We hosted my sister's bridal shower at LeMont, and it was absolutely amazing! Event Manager Bill Laughlin was surberb. He was very responsive to phone calls and emails and was incredibly accommodating. The space boasts incredible views of the city, the food was delicious, and the prices were very comparable to other venues. The event staff that day led by Tony was fantastic and provided us with friendly and attentive service. I highly recommend for a truly special experience that your guests will always remember!

Truly a 5 star restaurant, with views over looking the 3 rivers. You cannot compete with LeMont on any level; from class, prices, beyond friendly service, the views, etc... My dad and uncle love the cigar bar / lounge that has its own dedicated exhaust system.
The banana pepper appetizer is a must.
Complimentary coat check available as well.

A Pittsburgh staple. Johnny Carson's favorite Pittsburgh restaurant. Great views. Just a sample of the facts for the LeMont. Once you walk in feel like you've been transported to a grand old NYC styled restaurant. This is an experience with a view.

Been here twice. Valet parking unless you can somehow find a spot street parking. The food is delicious as well as the view over Pittsburgh. It is expensive to eat or drink here. Staff was very friendly.
