This hotel was a great break from the norm. It's not often that you walk down a hallway of a hotel to stop in your tracks to observe the art work. Very creative. My room was spacious and very accommodating to the things that I look for in being away from home. The staff are eager to assist you with your needs. It's always great when you have people assisting you that know how to elevate your questions! As a tip...need to get away? Visit their restaurant's library! That is all.

Went to an event at the state theatre which was conveniently right down the street. Hotel was nice. Beds were very comfortable. Couldn't find ice and none of the drinks in the bar were chilled.

Moved to their "sister" hotel because they were overbooked - then evicted us in the middle of the night after getting back from a concert because they moved us back here for our second night without having told us. Had to argue to get the manager to honour the discount offered to us when the sister hotel evicted us.

I spend at least 100 nights in hotels every year for work. I joined Starwood Preferred Guest a month after the loyalty program was introduced, and earned SPG Lifetime Platinum Status staying in hundreds of Starwood properties around the United States.

This hotel, the Meridien Chambers in downtown Minneapolis, has always been one of my favorites (not just in MN). I've spent several dozen nights here and at the nearby W Hotel while in MPLS, and LOVE the place. The rooms are modern, cozy and well-appointed. The staff is perfect, from the valets to desk staff to management to security to the overnight and housekeeping staff.
It's a relatively small hotel (a couple dozen rooms, several great suites and one magical super-suite), but don't call it 'boutique'. This isn't a smaller version of anything -- it's the perfect size, perfect scale and offers everything a mega-property has... except crowds, endless hallways, conventioneers and stupid rules.
The hotel has a bar/patio/restaurant (now called 'Mercy', with new management) and it is terrific -- great food, good service, priced well. Not a hotel restaurant as you imagine one.

Modern rooms with heated floor bathrooms! Nice staff that welcomed me with hot chocolate & Bailey's when I checked in. Only downside is the restaurant (Mercy) was open but never staffed in the morning when I went in to get breakfast, so I ended up going elsewhere to eat.

Stunning hotel in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. There are beautiful art pieces all over the hallways, in your room, and a gallery in the main floor. Our suitIe was also furnished with gorgeous modern pieces. I will definitely stay again!

Nice, large rooms in a great location with comfy beds and an attentive staff. They are within walking distance to shops, tons of restaurants, bars, and great nightlife. The hotel is beautiful, and they have a great patio outdoors where you can drink and soak in the sun. The rooms are stylishly decorated with high speed internet/wifi, a kitchenette, heated floors in the bathroom, and the most amazing rainfall showerhead. The soaking tub is also ridiculously amazing. Two negatives: they charge $100 deposit plus $25 cleaning fee per day for dogs and parking is $42 per night.

The hotel was very clean, stylish, quiet, and comfortable. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent for activities in the Hennepin Avenue area. Room rates were very competitive. I'll definitely be staying there again.

This is the best hotel in Minneapolis -- for those who value excellent service, stylish understated elegance, and the many little things major mass market hotels seem unable to deliver.

From the valets to front desk through the housekeeping staff, service and excellence are abundant here. 5 stars.

I love this hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful and it is very clean. I stayed in the winter and happened to hang out in an outdoor heated igloo and make new friends. My experience was better than expected, and I will stay here again.

I've stayed here in the past and it was great. However this last time, we weren't able to check in until after 4:00 (Check in is supposed to be at 3). Google says they have free wifi, but from what I could tell you have to pay for it. Rooms were only ok- decor not great and outdated. Went to use the shower in the morning, but some weird dark stuff had come up the drains of the shower and the sink. On the up side, the staff was nice. I hope this hotel can do better in the future.

Friendly front desk staff. Cool partnership with local art museum. Gym small but new and clean. Restaurant has top rated food. Was in the luxury suite which was very large with an awesome bathroom (heated tile floor, tv, tub by window and massive 18x30 rain shower). Lobby small and limited amenities. Center of downtown.

Vallet parking $46 a night, guy at front desk said parking around the corner was $35 a day, turned out to be $15. WiFi charge is crazy expensive ($15ish a day). Sorry, wifi is like clean towels: should come free with a room. Room was clean, AC works great. Only 1 towel rack in the bathroom, should have 2.

Fantastic hotel!!!! The people are amazing and I love design of the hotel. While the TV is new, the cable service is lacking. Either there is no channel guide, our I'm not smart enough to figure it out. I will definitely be staying here again!!!

Great hotel in the heart of downtown Minneapolis! Rooms are spacious and have couches and a mini fridge full of beverages ($$). The staff was friendly and the restaurant and lounge are pretty great! Stayed one night for a work trip so didn't spend a ton of time in the hotel but I'd book it for a personal trip in the future.

The check-in staff were not very helpful and not friendly. The room was nice and modern. The only room issue was that there were a couple of stains on the bedding. Overall the experience did not match up to the price.

Horrible management. During a blizzard and winter storm warning, they would not let us change our reservation to another date. I didn't expect a refund, but I expect some flexibility due to acts of God. Do NOT book this hotel in the winter.

THE WORST!

THE WORST!
It was our first time in Minneapolis and we were traveling with a large group of people for "Snowta" music festival / new year's eve. Before we arrived, we had already heard from others in our group that they messed up their reservation. Then when we arrived, they confirmed they messed up ours as well. We booked a room for 3 people and they gave us a room for 2 and made ZERO efforts to course correct or acknowledge their mistake. Their solve instead was to give us a room with 1 bed for 2 and a sofa bed (pull out couch). So we took their word for it, but unfortunately did not find out until later that night, that the so called "pull out couch" was just a regular couch. When we then tried to contact someone in management...or anyone really....all the staff at the hotel was GONE. No one there to attend to their customers at all. So with no other choice, the 3rd person with us slept in a very uncomfortable setting and woke up with neck and back pain.

The next morning, we went to go speak to someone about it, mainly about the fact that they were charging us for 3 people but did not give us the accommodations for such. We pleaded with them to find a solve as we still had 2 more nights left in MN. The person we spoke with told us there was a suite that was being freed up that day that accommodated 3 and that they would handle moving our belongings into that room by the time we came back to the hotel. After a long day for my group and I, we return to the hotel, expecting to find our room issues solved and ready to take a nap...only to find out that the folks at the front desk had NO Idea what we were talking about when we asked about the suite. Apparently, the person we had dealt with earlier had left for the day and given zero information or instructions to the person there now. Worst of all, the young lady working the desk now, simply stated there was nothing she could do. So we asked to speak to her manager, and that's when things really hit the fan. The so called manager, whose name is STEVE, was extremely rude and unprofessional. He did not in the least try to be helpful nor understanding and even spoke back to us in language that I would NEVER expect from someone in the customer service industry. He took zero accountability for his employees actions and their gross mismanagement of our reservation, was offensive, rude and furthermore proceeded to give us attitude when we asked that they not charge us for a room for 3 when in fact they only gave us a room for 2!

After our interaction with this Steve dude, we knew there was NO WAY we could spend another night in this dreadful hotel, so we proceeded to book at another and cancelled the remaining days in our reservation at "Le Mierda" (le meridien).

My advice - NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL! There are far better hotel options out there in Minneapolis.

The other hotel we stayed: The Hilton, had way better services, features and most importantly, they had a friendly, professional staff that didn't Ghost on you past midnight or give you attitude.

HOUSE KEEPING STEALS AND MANAGEMENT DROPS THE BALL...

HOUSE KEEPING STEALS AND MANAGEMENT DROPS THE BALL!!! My wife and I checked into our room around 6pm and notice the mini fridge didn't work. We call down to the front desk and they tell us they will send a replacement right up. We wait 30 min and decide we are leaving to go out that night and will just tell the front desk to not worry about the fridge. As we are leaving the room a 30 year old ish very friendly house keeping woman says are you in room 204 I have a fridge for you. We said yes and needed to get going so we agreed to let her put it in there in 5 minutes after she got it from the surplus closet. (Whats the harm right? Housekeeping has access to the room anyways when we aren't there) She seemed like a normal nice honest person so didn't think about it at all. We go out have a blast come back around 10pm and go to bed. The next morning when we get up to leave my wife can't find her purse anyway. The room isn't that big so after 20 minutes of looking we started to suspect it was that housekeeper. So my wife calls on here credit card to see if there was any activity. Of course the card has been used 7 times in the last 12 hrs.(None by us) Lucky for us I had my wife's ID for cocktails the night before but in order to make room for it in my money clip I took out my Target Red Card. I call on that of course it was used an hour prior to my calling. It is such a terrible feeling when something like this happens but my wife and I understand we live in the real world were people make bad decisions. We talk to management who were very professional and kind. They did dance on thin ice for a while when they prying to make sure we didn't forget using the card or if we were sure we left it in the hotel. (I understood this since some people are quick to blame housekeeping) They picked up our valet but nothing for our room. We felt that was a little on the cheap side but we weren't looking for handouts. My biggest disappointment is this happened in July 2013 now 4 months later nothing has been resolved. We have called them multiple times to see what the status is and every time they tell us someone will call us back (which they never do) or we are still investigating.

$160 Purse/clutch
$300 Cash
$846 in credit card purchases (Refunded by Visa Fraud Prevention+

$460 out of our pocket and $1306 total take by the thief.

You can't live you life assuming everyone is going to steal from you since most people in this area and honest, hard working, and good people.

Just SUCKS!

Beautiful boutique hotel in heart of the Theater district of Minneapolis. We scored a deal on a luxury suite and loved our stay.

Beautiful artfilled rooms, super comfortable bed and a luxurious rainfall shower and were some highlights. It does get a bit noisy outside after games or concerts but didn't inhibit our stay or sleep in any major way.

Parking is available in nearby ramps for much less than they charge. The $50+ for overnight parking is a bit much.

Free admission to the Walker and Free bike too!

We had booked the luxury room for a show we were attending that evening and we live in MN so we only booked one night. For offering valet, there was not a valet person outside to greet and assist us checking in. When we got in the guy (didn't catch his name) was welcoming and nice in getting us checked in quickly.

The room was amazing and beautiful. I did NOT want to leave that shower and bath tub since it was a raining shower.

What made it go down hill was, the constant people banging on pails starting at10pm. We tried to wait it out and it just would not stop there was absolutely no way we would be able to sleep.

We were excited to get dessert from room service since the restaurant we went to didn't offer many options. The menu stated "new York cheesecake with strawberry sorbet" and "chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream". We ordered both and also chips and dip the cheesecake was nearly just a pumpkin pie and when we called the restaurant they stated that they only have seasonal cheesecake. Why list that you have a new York cheesecake then? Or why didn't you tell us when we ordered? The chocolate chip cookie was 1 cookie broken into 5 pieces incredibly hard and the ice cream was 2/3 melted by the time we got it. The chips did not seem homemade as they claim. It was literally out of a box. The dip tasted like it was store bought and they just put green onion to make it look nice. Waste of $60

We decided to not stay the night and check out early that night. We went down and the staff on duty was a girl. She asked us why we were leaving early which we told her the room was amazing, the sound wasn't and the room service was terrible. she didn't really apologize but rather stood up for the restaurant stating the chips are home made, their food is usually really good etc. I didn't state much and I was still willing to pay because we ordered it. She didn't say it at the time, but when I got the email receipt she removed the room service charge which was nice.

Before we came down to the lobby, we called ahead to ask for valet to pull up our car. She stated it would be 5-10 mins. Ok no problem we were still packing up. We came down a out 7 minutes after that call and checked out. She took our valet card we typically give the person that gives us the keys back, but didn't think much of it. So we went to wait outside. My husband asked me to go ask her if we needed that card since we were waiting for about 10 mins at that point and no car came. So I went back in to ask and she's like "oh yeah you need your valeted car... Um yeah we don't have a valet person on duty right now... I guess I'll go get it" um what do you mean? We called over 20 minutes ago for it. You told me it was coming. It is advertised EVERYWHERE 24 hour valet service. And now you're telling me no one was going to get the car? She came outside about 3 mins later and told us that the valet guy didn't have his parking ramp badge so has to go ask security to get in and it would take a little time so we went to wait in the lobby. The car pulled up, and we saw it so we walked back out. The guy who brought it up didn't apologize for the wait or inconvience and stood there waiting for his tip. Didn't look at us in the eye but rather kept looking at our hands.

The room was beautiful and amazing. Best shower and tub. However, I will NEVER stay again.
