Loved the location, service, people and room.
Specifically, Miguel at the front desk and Bruno were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make our visit great!
Great location, cosy and comfortable interior - perfect for a weekend getaway
I used as a Marriott Platinum Member, provided Junior Suit including B/F and complementary SPA. Very easy to access from the Plaza of Catalunya center of Barcelona.
Great location in the center of the tourist area. Great consierge services.
If you re an SPG member, stay in the Renaissance instead. While a few blocks north of Plaza de Catalunya, you will receive a far better welcome and service there than Le Meridien. You will also be away from the raging-tourist-only La Ramblarghhhh. At the Le Meridien, I was put on the ground floor where I can hear the subway trains rolling beneath the ground.
Now about this hotel...at first I thought I was imagining that I was treated far less superior than other guests (except for the guy who checked me in who was friendly), I can t help but think that there was preference for the light skinned-rich-looking folks, and I was seen as less than and not a guest. It seems that the prejudices against Filipinos and Asians in Spain may be true. I was also traveling solo so I was made to feel like a pariah and didn t feel like a guest in the hotel. I did a little experiment and observed if the doormen would open the door for me, from the 5 days that I stayed there, I was in and out 2-4 times a day not once did I get a nice welcome nor the door opened for me. (Only when they kept the door open for other people coming in before me.) Then, I observed if others got a nice warm welcome, they did and they certainly did not have my skin tone. When I walked by in front of Le Pop, the hostess in the street would offer up the menu for people walking by and when I walked by, I got no offering or welcome (this happened twice).
This place just made me feel horrible about myself.
This hotel is Le Meridien Barcelona and it is very clean.
So I really recommend you this hotel.
This hotel is a le meridien hotel in barcelona and it's really not messy.
We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay here. The service from the staff is Superior! The concierge is a like a magician the way he had my boarding passes printed in less than 2 minutes. I was fooling around with the airline website for 15 minutes or more and couldn't get it to work. I go up stairs and ask the concierge, and 2 minutes later I had them in my hand. They hold the door f o r you and greet you when you enter. A class of service that has sadly been missing from the hotel industry for a while, but at Le Meridien is de rigueur.
The hallways are wide and spacious, the featherbed comforter a soothing delight. They really made us feel valued and welcomed.
One of the best, but the best hotel, in Barcelona located next to the mythical promenades of Barcelona.
Beautiful, modern hotel that is right next to La Rambla and the Market. The only downfall is there is no pool.
Great location & Super friendly staffs
Not first time in Barcelona but first time in Meridien (5nights)The location is the best to discover BCN : walking distance to beach , lots of restaurants and shops etc.
I was a little disappointed in the beginning because they can t honor my Suite upgrade vouchers. As a Titanium member, I still got a upgrade to renovated room(337) : really beautiful, mordent, clean , spacious coffee machine and USB socket next to the bed !
I had a dinner in the restaurant as well. Highly recommended : the menu has really great price around 25EUR per person : 3 course with drink ! And you got discount if you are Bonvoy member! It tastes good ( more than many restaurants on Rambla) and the service is good.
Eduardo was extremely nice to help me C/I. Every morning, the staffs of restaurant says Hello to everyone with energy. The standard of service at Meriden BCN is as good as some St Regis or RizCaltons. Really feel the hospitality! If I come back again, it must because of all friendly staffs of the hotel.
If I stay in the same room (337) or my Suite upgrades vouchers honored, my BCN trip would be perfect. That s why I give only 4/5. However, I do recommend Meridien BCN !
As an SPG platinum member, I like to stay here because of its great location, flexible and efficient team. Food is great too!
Thank you.
Hotel is great, located in a perfect place relative to the city, most important street in Barcelona, walking distance from the water and metro.. people are nice as well and extremely helpful. Amenities in the hotel are acceptable, SPA is a nice thing to have.
If you added breakfast to your reservation, you would enjoy a decent breakfast buffet.
The bar is pretty nice and prices are very reasonable especially for buying drinks at a 5 star hotel!
Super nice city hotel, good service, delicious food.
Location is great. Next to alot of shopping and beautiful buildings. Touristy area, but definitely not a tourist trap. Staff has been very accommodating and helpful with any questions and finding things to do. Room is spacious and beautiful but poorly played out. Overall a wonderful experience.
It is a 5 star hotel, very attentive staff and a very good treatment. The best is the location. Located in the center of Barcelona and very well connected!
Excellent, luxury hotel with the best service I have come across in Europe. Its location on the Rambla, close to walking to all important places. Price is not cheap.
Very nice hotel. Great location. However I am comparing it to the Meridien in Orlando FL. What a hell hole meridien Orlando. Thank you Meridien Barcelona
The other hotel where we have picked to stay in Barcelona. We have split the stay so we checked in day 1, day 2 out of town and re-checked in again to the same hotel for day 3.
Location - Excellent. It's 2-3 minutes walk to Mercat la boqueria.
Room #1 Deluxe King
The room was okay, just standard hotel rooms, quite spacious I thought. The only thing that wasn't good was the toilet - the door was not functioning properly, it has some loud click every single time I open/close it. It was quite loud it is actually quite scary because I thought the door may fall anytime soon. We reported this at point of check out and reception took note of it (It was a room on the 5th floor but I forgot the number). Apparently nobody had made this remark so they haven't got enough info to fix it. Hopefully it's fixed now..
Because we were going out of town for a night and will re-check in again the next day, we requested for our luggages to be stored in the hotel and move it into the room the next day. The hotel said strictly no overnight luggage due to the bombing incident. However, I understand the need for the policy but this could be revised. I mean, your guests have stayed a night and have already prepaid for the next night, so why not allow this simple request? You can always have some device to scan the bags first just if you want to buy an insurance . I'm sure the hotel is able to check the background/history of their guest (where I am a SPG member so my history is visible to them?). I don't know, I just felt that the policy could be revised to accommodate genuine guests. We were offered (a) hotel services to move our luggage to wherever + luggage storage fee; (b) to walk to the nearest storage. Honestly very inconvenient because we are already checking in the next day... Wasted so much time here.... The only reason I picked Le Meridien again is because of the convenience but it wasn t that convenient afterall.
Room #2 Deluxe King - Upgraded to Premium Deluxe Twin
Also, because of the inconvenience and the front desk staff felt really bad for us, he moved our room from deluxe to premium deluxe as a form of apology due to the strict policies. We were happy with the room as it was newly refurbished with the exception that we were given twin beds instead of king. We did not go down to change it because it was only a night and it was just too much trouble. I was pleasantly surprised by the curler in the room - it is absolutely useful!!! I hope every hotel I go to provides this too but they don't so, this is seriously a very high plus point!!
Concierge staffs:
Bruno was very helpful with the exchange of emails for my reservations request. One thing to note about the concierge - there should always be a back up staff if one guest hogs the concierge staff for too long. I stood there for close to 10 minutes because one person sat there asking 101 questions (with maps and all) when I just wanted to ask a quick one. Twice that it happened that people were asking tonnes of questions and hogging a staff but nothing we can do except waiting and hoping for staff number 2 to appear.
Conclusion:
In comparison with W where we have stayed earlier, the rooms were certainly not as beautiful/modern nor the view was as great as W s. However, Le Meridien offers practical rooms and I got good sleep quality here, I did not have issues with noise and that is certainly WAY more important than beautiful bedroom/view. Also, the front desk staffs were a lot more professional in handling matters and I would definitely pick Le Meridien anytime over W - it is practical, professional and suitable for business. I also like the fact that they have security guards guarding the place 24/7 and they lock the main entrance after certain hours for security purposes. Again, in comparison, because W is a party place, anyone is free to walk in so security is not as good.
Other info:
They offer free Casa Batllo tickets to guests too but we did not have enough time to see so we dropped the item of getting the tickets from the concierge.
All is the Best. Tastes of all Foods cant tell, need to eat.
Silent hotel Located in the center of Barcelona. Good facilities and friendly staff
Great hotel in a great location. The entire staff was incredible !! Rooms were spacious and well appointed and the AC WORKED !! Beautiful building, easy to get to the beach and to the game. Absolutely loved it
The hotel cafe is a comfortable and quiet place where you can have a drink and talk in peace.
Wow... very nice hotel ... well maintained and very good supporting team .
A staff is kind and the location is very good.
But When I left there, there was a soccor match, the street around hotel was very crowded. Because of that it was hard to take a taxi.
Restaurant cent onze, a menu at affordable prices for the area
Slightly small rooms, but a very nice, luxurious hotel in a brilliant location.
excellent location. all highlights of Barcelona are closeby
Clean, comfortable room, very helpful staff. Excellent restaurant, beautiful breakfast buffet. Great location. Well-priced.
Room good, but a lot of noise in the morning in the corridor and the annex room cleaning. Excessive night price for what they offer. The only good thing if you hurry me a lot is the location.
Nice hotel in the Marriott portfolio. Great location in the old town, right on the Rambla and minutes to the port. No Exective lounge but comprehensive buffet breakfast in the restaurant next door.
Great location, access is just off La Rambla. Very spacious rooms unlike most hotels on La Rambla
Very nice hotel -- excellent staff, very patient & helpful. Large shower, but slightly slow-draining (so used less water pressure). Commode sometimes difficult to flush. Great beds. Excellent breakfast.
Wonderful Hotel. We stayed for a week, exploring Barcelona. Location is perfect, right on Las Ramblas. Staff is friendly and helpful, eager to go the extra mile for you. Room was very nice, lovely beds and bedding. Bathroom was exceptionally nice. All slate with heated floor. We loved the shower. Our room faced Las Ramblas, but even with the window open, nose was not a problem on the 5th floor.
Very central location, although the Rambla isn't the best street and is quite touristy. Great restaurants nearby. Room was great.
Amazing hotel with great staff that even helped me with my Spanish homework. The restaurant and bar downstairs are really great as well.
Great location. Good staff. Hotel is kind of worn and dated. Tiny rooms.
This was one of the coolest and nicest hotels I have ever been to. Staff was amazing food was amazing a little overpriced though. 10 out of 10 would go again
Attention 10!
We had a nice meal with friends and the treatment was great. I 100% recommend the reservation available at Fever.
The best thing about it is the location you are very close to the metro station and at the heart of la ramblas street..
I was dissapointed. Spg service is good but property need refurb. Got an old room. Its in the most noisy location of bcn. You hear/feel the subway thru walls. Breakfast is less than average if you like anti-inflammatory foods.
The location is excellent for shopping and access to the gothic quarter. The room is well designed and comfortable with good air conditioning, an iron and board, safe and plenty of outlets. The wifi is good and free. The linens, towels and robes are great quality. Front desk staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast is included and is plentiful and delicious. Rooms facing the back of the hotel are more quiet and having a room on a higher floor is no problem as the elevators work well!
Nice experience .. great location..featured and clean rooms
The staff are helpful and friendly especially the professor (Santi).
It was a special experience
Excellent service, excellent professionals from management to the last employee. Always attentive and willing to make the stay pleasant. Charmed.
Staff was VERY nice, room was nice, clean with nice amenities. Hotel was centrally located for great walking in the city, they helped us arrange great tours. Very nice!
I totally do not recommend this property. Being a titanium member I used 50,000 points a night and on top of that marriott suite night awards. And the freaking room we got is smaller than the freaking area allowed for free range chickens. On top of that, the small window has a view of kind of a construction site (room 323). Are you kidding me marriott?? I was putting 100 nights a year and the room you give me is small as hell? If a fire Marshall come to my room, they will shot down the hotel. Are you kidding me? All the business I gave you allowed me to get this room? I am not kidding, I took photos and will post them online when I turn on my laptop. I will communicate with my friends, coworker and company to stay away from marriott properties.
Best hotel in Barca. Right next to all the goods in Rambla and Gothic.
Great place, in the ultracenter of Barcelona, a quiet harbor to rest and enjoy the vibe of the city. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Good breakfast.
For those who are lucky to stay on the top floors, great views of BCN
The rooms are small although I am a juniper block but the location is the most important
The rooms are samll even i booked a junior suite .. Its a size of room in the Art Hotel, however the location is prime
Excellent experience. Great location off of Las Ramblas, steps from the Metro, and walking distance to several popular attractions. Service was exceptional our entire stay, with a pleasant surprise waiting for us in our room to celebrate our anniversary. We hope to be back and will definitely stay here again!
Nice hotel, a bit old ... Nice service, good food, delicious cappuccino ..
Ideally located off of Las Ramblas. Great staff and service.
A hotel with charm. The impeccable rooms and very good treatment of the staff. Your restaurant is also highly recommended.
All perfect, very friendly and very good quality of food
Best kept secret the rooms were very well furnished
Outstanding hotel, perfect location, wonderful staff. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed.
The step always great, great rooms, this time the bathroom had small prlblemitas, breakfast I did not like much, I expected something better
Good location and newly remodeled parts ... Very comfortable
