Tuesday Prix Fixe menu is definitely worth the trip. This time we had Salade Lyonnaise, hamachi, the halibut special and their pastry wrapped trout. Substantial. Delicious and thoughtfully presented. Excellent service. For dessert we had the religiusse (sp?) and the creme brulee. Ate it all. Le Bouchon is great every time we go

Le Bouchon is hands down my go-to restaurant when I'm looking to have a nice dinner for a special occasion.

First, I will talk about their drinks. They have a very extensive wine list, but if you're a fan of the dirty martini like I am, that's the move for this restaurant. The blue cheese olives are hand stuffed, and they keep the vermouth pour to a minimum.

You can't go wrong with escargot, but they do it the best. Of course, their charcuterie never disappoints, either. Over time, I've gotten the steak frites (au poivre and maitre d), the salmon, and the steak tartare, and I've always been extremely satisfied. As for the dessert, I recommend the creme brulee.

The service at Le Bouchon is very helpful and quick, which is a great plus. One thing to note is that the restaurant is quite small, so you'll need to book a reservation. Also, they do try to fit a lot of people in there, so it is very cramped (like need to move your table so you can get out and go to the bathroom type of cramped).

If you're a fan of French food and you're in Chicago, you'll need to check Le Bouchon out.

The food is not bad, but it definitely not above 3 stars. DO NOT try escargot - we made the mistake it was pure tasteless rubber. If you are looking for amazing snails - definitely try Maude in West Loop.

We got off to an iffy start because the hostess told us we couldn't get a table for over an hour, but the made a reservation on open table for 25 minutes later, but once that we had a table, the service was only surpassed by the incredible food. The highlights were the grugere, tomate ancienne, and the Tuite de fjords en croute (pictured).

In my opinion, this is the best French bistro in Chicago. Understand that it is a bistro, not aspiring to be a multi star restaurant, but presenting country fare classics with some modern flourishes. The cooking is deft, reliable, and often imaginative. The room is charming, small, lively, and crowded, just like so many bistros in Paris.

Wonderful experience every time I've been, very special place. The food and the atmosphere are a real delight. Couple next to us celebrating a 50th anniversary, and you can't help but feel they chose wisely.

This is no doubt one of the coolest place to eat in the neighborhood. Every time I come to this place I am truly glad. They keep their high level service and the topmost level of dishes they provide. You can never go wrong with this place. Very recommended.

If you are in Chicago but want to feel like you are in Paris for the evening, this is the place to go. The rabbit special they were serving when I was there was easily within the top 10 of meals that I've ever had.

I have too many wonderful things to say about this place. It's the perfect size, feels cozy & familiar. The standard menu items are amazing, & they change things out seasonally. TALK TO YOUR SERVER & ask for for her recommendations. She will definitely guide you in the right direction.

And then come back in 2 weeks & try the things you had to skip. ;)

Amazing. 5 people, ordered 3 appetizers and 4 main dishes. Every single thing was literally out of this world fabulous. The service was perfect. If you want a nice quiet experience, go elsewhere. It is very, very loud due to small size. We happened to love everything about the place.

I love this spot! They offer sensational meals, their menu is large, The chef in that place is a specialist, I like very much tasting all their food. The dishes are consistently of high class, the attitude towards the guests is good. I visit often this place and I was never unhappy. I recommend this place.

I can't stop recommending Le Bouchon. Went on a Monday (1/2 off Wine) for a couple's date. Staff was nice and their sommelier helped us pick excellent wines. We ordered charcuterie, escargot, and tartare to atart - all were fantastic. The lamb shank special was melted off the bone, the duck tender, and the steak frites cooked perfectly. Don't hesitate with Le Bouchon.

I was more than pleasantly surprised at this cozy French bistro. While the escargots and cote de bouef were good, the bouillabaisse was outstanding, probably the best I've had. The saffron broth was so rich and the seafood was perfect. The cassoulet was also tremendous, a great winter dish. The rabbit with pappardelle was equally outstanding. The wine list boasts a good amount of variety at affordable prices ($40-60) although I found the red wine by the glass to be a bit flat. Their cheese plate of 6 had several of my absolute favorites. So well curated.

Overall the service was friendly, although a bit on the slower side, but the food more than makes up for it.

5 stars for the food! If I would have stopped at their bread and butter that would have been enough. So good! The onion tarte is exceptional. I could not have imagined a better meal on a cold winter night than the Lapin en Croute (rabbit pot pie).

It is a very small and loud restaurant. Quiet talkers be warned. The noise level doesn't make it a good spot for quiet, romantic dates, but a great place to meet friends and have amazing food.
