The crepes are amazing. The pumpkin beignets are fun. Coffee is great. The only negative was when we got up to leave and order pastries to go, the cashier rudely said we had to bus our own table. Since it was our first time, feel they could have said in a kinder tone. There was no signage saying that is protocol.

Fantastic bakery in Old Town. I haven't had lunch here, but I've stopped in for baguettes and pastries a few times. Quality is great and the chocolate croissants are delicious. I love that greetings are in french and that for a brief moment, it feels like you're in France. Some evenings near closing time, they have a "buy 1 pastry, get 1 free" offer. Look for a small sign in the window.

I ve grabbed a loaf of the cheese bread on several occasions.

You also can t go wrong with their flavoured madeleines and macaroons.

I picked up their Chocolate La Fournette for my Xmas dinner after reading all the rave reviews on here and it was incredible. My gf's grandmother declared it was the best cake she's ever had in her life. It seriously was that good.

There is nothing like this place in Chicago! If you are a fan of French baking, you have to try this place. The people that are behind it are from Strasbourg. The macarons are great! I love the Almond croissant... my favorite!

Wonderful bakery and friendly staff!! We had the ham and cheese croissant sandwich, veggie quiche, plain croissant, raisin Rouleau, a baguette and cappuccino - everything was lovely. the cappuccino and the raisin rouleau (sorry, don t know the correct spelling) were my favorite though I don t like raisins and picked them out ... but it s worth the effort :)

Although it looks like a nice bakery, the pastries we bought there today were old. Worst part were doughnuts - probably 2 to 3 days old and tasting like papers. Nice ambiance and good location for people watching though.

French bakery vending the usual stuff. Had breakfast... Coffee and croissant. Others in my party had latte and croissant and juice with a jam and cheese croissant. Nice to see that crepes were on the menu. Various loafs of bread available. Nice atmosphere and moderate prices. Welcoming staff. Outdoor dining area available too.

Although I bet this nicer French bakery has other good items, the ones we chose today were old. You can taste the staleness. That said im going to give it another try soon earlier in the morning. Afternoon was not good!!

Ham panini and bouquet tea, just perfect! The space is really cute and everything I have had there is delicious. The owner and her son are very nice and the staff is helpful. If your in Old Town, it is worth a visit.

Love this bakery and the folks that own it. Chef Pierre Zimmerman is a master and has created a great bakery in Chicago. Every time we go to Chicago (have a daughter that lives there) we get up early to go to La Fournette for fresh baguettes and croissants.
Killer almond croissants and everything else for that matter.
Highly recommend this establishment. Top notch!

Absolutely love the bakery. Their almond croissant and apricot danish are next level! Prices are fair and staff are very nice. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in Old Town. They also deliver on food apps, and the delivery has always been great.

I've stopped here dozens of times over the years and everything is so consistently great!

If you are looking for authentic French sandwiches and pastries, this is the real deal! It's not cheap but well worth the price. If you are looking for a bargain, there's a McDonalds a couple doors down.

Amazing bakery, the best breads and baguette in town. Really good coffee, friendly service in a warm and inviting space. They also offer pre made sandwiches, crepes and baked goods. This place will make you all warm and happy just to be there :)

Went there for croissants, found 3 trays with a fly walking over them. I told them about it, they swiped it off, but no attempt at removing the pastries. There was nothing else available at the time (around 5 30pm on a Monday) and I didn't want to eat fly croissant, so I left. They were out of bread too which I guess means they have good bread.
Bottom line: don't go there in the afternoon, catch the pastries early before the flies get them.

When you step into the bakery you feel like you've been transported to a little street bakery in Paris as owner, Michele, greets you with a warm "Bonjour!". Everything is delicious but my fave is the croque monsieur. Their fruit cup is delicious and you can't leave without trying a macaron. Definitely try the Linzer - you don't see these anywhere else in the city. The service is fantastic as well.

Waited for 10 minutes before being serviced. Their French baguette is quite hard, maybe not fresh enough - not really French. Quite expensive (products are 2 to 3 times as expensive as in France, including Paris. Why?) Staff was a little rude. Their chocolate croissant (pain au chocolat) was good.

Love their chocolate almond croissants, they're better when they're freshly baked and still warm with that melted chocolate meets the marzipan. Their croissants are also better than the ones I've had in France. Overall good experiences each time I've gone, and managed to avoid the long lines.
