Okay staff service. I only come here for high end fishing gear, as you can get lower end gear of the same model from Canadian Tire.

Store is preminatley closed, other wise would have given 5
I love to shop in this store for last 5 years , I learned fishing from their very friendly staff,
Jack, Bob Paul,Wayne, they are all good experienced anglers .
Store was closing. I went to check out the closing sale and the prices were still pretty noncompetitive.
Nice staff. Many choices. Clean and big outside stuff store.
Great staff and fair prices. I'm not sure why this place got so many bad reviews, they are way better then Bass Pro!
Went to Le Baron on Dundas looking for assistance on inflatable boats. The guy I was speaking to was more interested in a picture his friend sent him of a pike rather than helping me, telling me that's where he was headed after work which was nice but I asked him again for help and he said look over there, it should around that area.
Very Poor Service, I hope the rest of the staff is better than that guy
Very sad to see them closing. Been coming here since my father took me when I was young.
Poor stock. Expensive. You will find better at SAIL or online.
they have started keeping hiking stuff too and their prices are always better than rest of market and sales person is very helpful. Definitely recommend this place for any body who wants to start hiking and wants to get hiking gear at reasonable price
Sad. The closed forever.
.
Excellent products at reasonable prices. Very knowledgable staff at the Markham location.
good selection on fishing products and really good prices in comparison to yankee(bass) pro shops. I don't understand the bad reviews i just chalk it up to there rude & ignorant service shows the high percentage of most people from the inner city seeing that I'm from a rural area that's how it is in the city so suck it up & get used to it just get what you need and get out i usually spend 10- 20 minutes in the store tops i don't like the service & i sure as heck don't like the inner city but it is what it is. I see other review's about people praising bass pro shop's, I can honestly say out of the 4 (bass pro, cabelas, sail,le baron) sail & le baron have the better customer service i went to cabelas today asked one of the fool's there about a lure, he said he would go & check to see if they had it in stock and he disappeared & never returned, this has happened to me both in american(bass) pro shop's & now cabelas (both yankee store from down south) if that kind of service turns you on by all mean's, I'd rather give my Canadian dollar's to Canadian store's
Dreadful. The store has no curb appeal, the customer service is dreadful and most of their stuff is too expensive anyway. Save yourself a trip and go to Bass Pro.
They'll be out of business in the next couple years. Le Baron corporate, if you're listening to this, close your Mississauga store, its a disaster for your brand!
No matter how many times I've gone here, there's zero to no customer service. They rather talk amongst themselves than helping the customers.
AND..... THERE WERE BARELY ANY CUSTOMERS IN THE STORE!!! guessing you guys were too busy talking with each other...
Lebarons is my absolute last stop for outdoor/hunting gear. Prices are high and their advertised products are always out of stock. The gun counter staff were both rude and uninformed about firearms in general (apparently there is almost no difference between a #6 pheasant load and 00 buckshot haha). There are better hunting stores in the area (Flaherty's), check them out instead.
This review is for Markham store.
This is probably the only option with the reasonable price.
Their sales front who are selling the hunting game tags and licenses are NOT knowledgeable of the hunting rules regulations.
The firearms department does not have much knowledge of firearms.
They lack in customer service.
They have no sense providing customer satisfaction.
Despite the facts above I am a regular customer and have spent thousands of dollars, if there were more stores in Toronto region with a reasonable price I think Lebaron would find it very hard to continue with their current sales strategies.
Been going there for 5-6 years now. Staff in fishing have always been friendly and helpful. Prices are great too.
Bought a Crossbow last year and the scope become foggy. I returned just the scope to the store and they tried to send me to Excalibur. I refuse it because Excalibur doesn't sell to retail so they had to take and ship my scope under warranty. After about ONE MONTH, they call me to go and pick up the replacement for my scope. I'm sure this ONE MONTH delay was made intentionally because I refused to ship the scope to Excalibur by myself. Will won't go back again, I rather buy online from competitors.
I like this location. Staff greeted me every time I walked into the store and asked if I needed any help. I normally know what I want and like to wander around on my own, so I let them know. Few interactions that I had with the staff on the floor were positive, they where able to answer my questions or asked other staff for help. Selection of goods is good. Got few hundred dollars worth of kit over last two visits. Counter staff are friendly and patient. Explained to me that their prices are going up soon due to US dollar exchange rate, that is a good mojo if you ask me.
Will be coming back for sure.
Rude and arrogant staff. Did I mention rude and arrogant staff? The people behind the gun counter have a standoffish attitude, and this is even after you offer to show them your PA which is curious. In 2014 I expect courteous and professional customer service when I go into any store. Personally I think the owners need to do some housecleaning on the curt staff.
The return policy is the absolute minimum, if you have issues with at product forget about these guys talking to the distributor for you. I would not recommend this store for any product over $20-30.
I don't know what everyone else is complaining about, but I've had nothing but a great experience at this store. Gearing up for summer adventures I was shopping around at MEC, SAIL, Bass Pro, and I found that LeBaron had everything waaaaay cheaper than the competition and the staff were more than helpful. It's a great store for camping gear, they have all the essentials and from what I've seen much cheaper than the other guys.
This will definitely be my first go to outdoor store.
Im not gonna go into details but my first time visit in this store was horrible. I went to the archery room and asked for few items which were hanging behind a counter on the wall. I could not read the sticker price. This short dark hair man in glasses came over and it would not let me see the item. Didn't even turn around to face me while talking to me. Mumbled something under his nose and i ended up leaving. I was ready to spend $150 for a nice bow release. Thanks to his good help and proper customer service I will never visit this store again. He made me feel so horrible just for asking for prices on few items.
no thanks. never again. First and last visit
Very friendly staff I spoke to 3 of them and they were all very helpful including the gentleman in the gun area.
I don't know where are these bad reviews coming from, but this will be my store for all my shooting and hunting needs.
Keep up the good work
Competitive prices with the bigger fishing and hunting stores. Too bad it closed.
It is one of the great Canadian outdoor stores. A real shame that it is closing its doors.
Excellent price very knowledgeable staff decent selection
Poor pricing, lack of knowledge, very limited stock and a disappointing experience are what can be expected from Le Baron on a regular basis. Even their annual membership discount of 10%, still does not put their pricing into a range that one would consider competitive.
Look elsewhere for your hunting, fishing and other related supplies.
Very poor service! Went there for the first time to purchase my first firearm for trap shooting. I explained I was a novice and would like some advice on what to look for. The staff asked what colour I want and my price range and made absolutely no recommendations on what features to look for. The only reason I ended up purchasing from them was because I had already reviewed the product ahead of time. Very disappointing experience and I would not go back.
Sad to hear they are closing. Screw you BP and Cabela's.
This location/ the company is closed or no longer in business
Always enjoyed shopping at Le Baron.. unfortunately closed now...
there prices are pretty good. if you ask the staf questions they know but you need to ask and the question s will be answered.
LeBaron s level of service and hours of operation have been reduced considerably. Having attempted to squeeze in a visit prior to work, I discovered the hours of operation do not match what is listed online for those very few left that still like LeBarons the posted store hours are as follows:
SUN: CLOSED
MON: 9:30am-6:00pm
TUE: 9:30am-6:00pm
WED: 9:30am-6:00pm
THU: 9:30am-9:00pm
FRI: 9:30am-9:00pm
SAT: 9:00am-5:00pm
Another gentlemen was turned away at the door along with myself for their 9:00am opening (now 9:30am), and he aptly belted out God Bless Bass Pro Shops - I recommend Bass Pro Shops over LeBaron s to anyone that asks. If you are in the Toronto/ Mississauga/ Oakville area it is a bit far - the online store at Bass Pro is perfect for topping up on lures and equipment - and regularly offers free shipping.
With regard to Lebaron s I can t speak for other locations, but I can say the Mississauga location is a waste of your time...
I agree with everyone who reviews on customer service. Terrible! That is why I shop elsewhere. There are other shops with just what I need!
Hardcore Fall Steelies!
Mississauga store has good prices but HORRIBLE and INCREDIBLY RUDE service. You can get everything here at Cabelas or Bass Pro so save yourself the trip. I would only go there in an absolute emergency. Jerks.
The location is almost empty and they are closing soon.
Great store, knowledgeable people, and less expensive than these types of stores typically seem to be.
I've always had decent service here, and their prices are great. They offered to add me to a wait list for a product I was looking for, and called and held it for me when it came in. No complaints at all.
I have shopped at Le Baron for 15 years. The only reason I keep going back is one (possibly 2) employees that don't absolutely hate customers. I was there today and after the cashier (Brian) put a few items through the register, I asked if I could add some items to my order. He acted as if I wanted to pour hot lava on his head. The MAJORITY (not all, but most) of the employees here are rude, not helpful whatsoever and have the personalities of an inmate.
Brian, especially, is arrogant rude and standoffish. He obviously hates his job and the cards he was dealt personally. (one look at him and you'll understand)
You can tell the headquarters of this store is in Quebec. (no further comment needed) The ONLY reason I shop here from time to time are the low prices. They do have lower prices than other retailers as well as a 10% off for members of their "club".
You are way better off going to Sail to Sherway Gradens, Bass Pro in Vaughan. Cabelas in Barrie (AWESOME service @ Cabelas) or Fishing Depot in Rexdale.
I hope they change their attitude towards customer service, or there will be a large store for rent on Dundas east of Dixie.
DT
Was good outdoor & fishing products, closed permanently now.
Fairly good prices. However, their customer service is terrible. Waited in the gun room for 15 minutes to look at a gun and no one was there?! I avoid going there at all costs.
Staff are less than helpful - simply disinterested. The staff appear to be engrossed with each other. When asked about a certain item being unavailable, their response was "we're outa stock and the simply turned away from me. It would have been wonderful had he said "let me check when we can expect that item in" - I drove to a great gun shop in Hamilton and spent $650 dollars. What is the Manager doing to improve things? At this rate you will likely have to consider closing down soon.
Going out of business sale means great prices, However some of the staff were a bit curt
Costumer service training is needed for majority of the employees. Sometimes they do have lower prices than other retailers.
I am an experienced shooter, so I do not need much help when going to Lebaron's. The people have always been decent. You cannot beat the ammunition prices anywhere, Cabela's, Bass.. Best Pistol ammunition prices going, Except for AlFlaherty's, which is just a little further for me to go. I am in Mississauga.
I called to ask about a Leatherman Raptor, was told to hold on while the guy (who didn't put me on mute) walked around the store laughing and having conversations with other staff. After several minutes, he found it on the display and gave me a price. Just by chance, I asked the guy if they had a bunch in stock or just like one (I was planning to go later that day to get it). He told me "actually BOSS, I don't got any". I asked if I could buy the display one he had found, but he told me he didn't have any at all So why was I waiting for him to go to the display to check the price, then told he found it and told a price, when they didn't have even one??? He didn't say anything beyond that they are out of stock, he just waited for me to hang up. Completely CLUELESS, RUDE, and DISINTERESTED!!! Bought it from Cabellas!
Great selection and great prices and very reliable products. I always buy all my fishing stuff here
