This place was amazing all the animals where so friendly. I love animals that's why I came it was great
Our second visit to this drive thru zoo. Love the up close interaction with the animals. My son loves giraffe's and he was able to feed one from his hand. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area. Lots of fun for the whole family.
if it is your first time this super. but if you have already gone before you will see the same animals always they do not change. and for me personally it is a bit expensive.
Absolutely always enjoyable family time. My two grandsons who are both almost two had an amazing first visit experience!
We visited lazy 5 about a month it was fun and we had some screaming moments just from so much fun plan on going back soon
I always love coming to Lazy 5! I've been many times and always reccomend it to friends and family who want a close up experience!
A large drive through petting zoo type thing that you can feed from your car or their wagon. You will see animals of all types from around the world. Dig the giraffes and gazelle type critters.
Wouldn't bring your car (leave in their parking lot) unless it is old and beat up as the animals are very social and will come up to your vehicle like you are their mother. They like the handouts and will even poke their heads in your vehicle or stand their legs on it. Horns may scratch your vehicle inadvertently. They slobber. They are animals. So spend the extra $5 and get the wagon ride. Really.
This is a good experience for kids and adults and the whole ordeal really gets you up close and personal with the wildlife.
Two things that stick out that could improve:
1)Cash only. Inconvenient. Would rather pay a small percentage more for this convenience
2)Seems crowded and at spots the grounds need some upkeep.
It's cool and a great relatively cheap outing.
Love coming here with my son! Wish it wasn t so far.
3 senior citizens in a convertible and we went through with the top down. What a blast. We didn't think it was pricey at all. In fact for as long as we were there it was a cheap entertaining day. The park are looked great for the animals there. And the animals were well fed. We plan on making it a part of our fall tradition.
An unbelievable opportunity to get up-close with a lot of different animals. Like the best petting zoo you could ever visit.
Wait time today was ridiculous we arrived at 2 didnt enter gate til after 3 then another 1 hour waiting on traffic to move up then the book stated over 750 different types of animals and it wasnt no where near that many that we seen. There are no BATHROOMS once u get on the TRAIL or no concession stands it was bumper to bumper traffic today and not as many animals as they stated....I would not recommend going at all or at least when it's not packed
Review for Egg Extravaganza, This was a terrible experience from waiting in the car 1 1/2 hours in the car for entrance to park, to getting to the egg drop at 12:30, had to wait until 2:00 for the next egg drop. We have a 5 year old and 2 year old, eggs were dropped at 2:00 and many of the 0-3 yr olds did not get one egg! Not one egg for either child, plus many children around us did not get one egg! One long line for food, but we didn t have anything else to do for 1 1/2 hours, waiting for the egg drop. After the disppointment of the egg drop, empty basket and longest walk to parking lot, we are now stopped in the animal drive through, no cars are moving. Are you kidding me??!! We have 2 little children sitting waiting again! We will never, ever come back here, one disappointment after another! We will try to ask for a full refund, but can t wait to get out of here! Try to explain to the 5 year old why he didn t get one egg! I would give it 0 stars if I could.
we had a great experience at The lazy 5 ranch me and my husband and my grandkids. We got on the wagon rolled around was able to feed the different animals. And we were done on the wagon we were able to go to the individual up at ezoo to feed the goats, cows, camels, sheep and birds.
Have been twice. Absolutely loved it each time. Many different animals. The staff would come and clear the road ways if animals blocked it for too long. Very unique experience. Please have gas and use restroom before coming. No gas stations near and trail is lengthy. Animals were all through out the trail from the very beginning before even entering. Loved the fact we could social distance and still have such a great experience. Would highly recommend.
Good experience for kids to show herbivores animals, I like to use horse wagon to see, instead of driving at own.
Have you ever wanted a water buffalo to stick its head in your car and drool all over your arm? Have you ever wanted to make steely eye contact with an emu and feel a chill in your heart that you have met a real life dinosaur? It's all here and so much more. I can't remember laughing this hard and it's a great deal. Watch out for the antelope when you first start the ride. They WILL steal your bucket. You WILL be out $3 worth of feed in the first 70 seconds of your adventure.
It was interesting getting to drive around with animals and them to come right up to us
Wonderful place. Need more bathroom facilities , especially for ladies.
We enjoy this place. The wagon ride is great. However, I would like there to be more to look at and feed when walking around. The bathrooms are pretty bad.
Such a fun place! An SUV is best suited to driving through the zoo.
We had an awesome time their. My kids loved and was asking when can we come back. Your kids will love it.
The personal contact with so many animals is SO MUCH FUN. It's clean and the animals look well taken care of. A MUST go to place.
Incredible Food, Awesome Atmosphere. And the staff ... The Staff is amazing. Heather you have an A+ crew. If you are here at Carolina Beach ... Its the only place to go !!!!
Loved it! My daughter and I had a great time on her field trip here. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it was so hot and there were no water fountains. You could buy a bottle of water for $1.00! As a parent I didn't even think that there wouldn't be any water fountains or to send money for water.
If you like being up close b and personal with animals, hayrides, potbelly pigs and don't mind a giant tongue, this is a place for you. Please enjoy our zoo in Asheboro, too, but there's here there is be a different setting to see the animals. Many are free range, some are in pens or exhibits, but you can drive thru or take a hayride and feed a variety of sheep, goats, pigs, emu, oh, and the Scottish Highlander. Yes. Picnic areas that can be reserved for birthday parties. We've been several times, went thru twice in one day. Take the kids, bring a picnic lunch, the camera and some hand sanitizer. Make a day of it.
This place was great. 2 adults five teenagers 14-17. We all loved it. We took the wagon ride from reading the previous reviews about the animals jumping up on vehicles. Which we saw they do, when we were on wagonride and other cars out there. BUT there are signs informing you of that before you enter and at the ticket booth to purchase tickets. All of us we go back again. Was a lot of fun
Had a good time driving through the park and feeding and seeing the animals. Only takes cash,so be prepared for that.
This is the best place to go with kids on a nice day in Charlotte
Really mad the walk thru isn't open and they still charge the same...urgh
Awesome experience. Be prepared to clean your car after the trail. So many animals on your window for food.
Great place! Had friends visit while I was in collage years ago and we went to this zoo twice during their visit! Great place for all ages that are animal lovers! Highly recommend that you take a vehicle that has a rear opening window such as a SUV or such!!
Great place, only had time to do the petting zoo because the line gets so backed up with people stopping at the front entrance when you first drive to where the animals are. They really need employees standing around directing traffic and moving people along! I will come back when I have more time, but .... ;(
Great time! You will definitely get food pellets in your car. But worth every penny.
Great time! Interactive the whole way through. Made it through in about 2hrs, arrived around 9:30am on a Saturday when everything is busy from Covid closures, both lanes were completely full when we were towards the end.
They have lots of disclaimers as to damage and injury... but no warning that the animals WILL JUMP AND DAMAGE YOUR VEHICLE. not one sign on the way in mentions that the animals kick and scratch and peck through the entire "park".
My son and I go here regularly. If you've never been before you definitely need to make sure that you go during their Fall Festival, it is so much fun!
Friendly staff, good atmosphere for kids. It's a ton of fun for the family.
Toddler loved it, get at least 2 buckets of feed and hold onto one, you'll be done before you know it. For the owners, I very a second stand to get feed somehow halfway in would bring in a bunch more revenue for you
Great place for the family! Make sure you have a full tank of gas and plenty of hand sanitizer/wipes!
We had two cars, full of people of all ages from a baby, teens, young and old adults. We all loved it! Just be careful when you open your windows. Some of the animals will put their whole head inside the car to get to that food bucket! We will definitely go back.
My son and I have been coming for 7 years, and always enjoy seeing and feeding the aninals.
Went for the egg drop at Easter. Well organized. Kids loved it. Long drive through ranch with a ton of animals to see roaming
Great experience for the kids and adults in our group. Hay ride was AWESOME! Can't wait to go back.
An incredible place to bring kids who love animals and nature or to expose them to animals in nature. You can feed animals from your car. I recommend a vehicle where all the windows can roll down (so not most minivans) or a truck with a bed where you can sit/stand in the back and have the animals come right up to you (see pics). I loved it. My kids loved it and we all want to come back again. It is a little pricey and they ONLY accept cash so make sure you've stopped by the ATM first.
Took my 5 year olds and they had a blast!! Fed the animals right from the car. Took us about 45 mins to get through the whole thing. Great day trip activity!
Man this place is awesome. If you haven't been here you need to go. This place is worth the money to go and check out. Friendly staff with lots of parking spaces. Bathrooms on site with a gift shop.
My kids love this place! We go every year for the fall festival weekends.
Girlfriend an I really enjoyed this place. Would be a great place to take kids. About 45 mins from Charlotte.
Awesome with my grandsons 8 and 5 I loved it and so did their grandpa Eric
Animals are up close liked the fact you can feed the animals. Will vist again
This is the 4th time come and I have never left unsatisfied for the money spent
Awesome experience for the whole family. Make sure to take a wagon ride to go through the ranch. The animals are used to jumping up on the wagons to be fed and they will do the same to your car and trash it. I only gave it 4 stars because this is a cash or local check only facility which is kinda crazy since it's 2016. There is an ice cream snack stand, but that is it for food. We usually pack a pic nic lunch. I always bring a back pack with water and hand sanitizer. Wear clothes you can get dirty in and expect to get slobbered on. You get to feed so many cool animals, but the side effect if slobber. Hence the sanitizer. Enjoy.
Went here on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend 2020. Way too many people. The ranch is a parking lot. We have been in stopped traffic for 3.5 hours and we are not even close to being done. This place is literally a parking lot.
Animals come right up to you and are super friendly. Super great time and make sure you get a food cup, it's worth the money. Will being going back soon
I love it! I went there as a kid, and, it was AMAZING
Great fun and keeps the kids busy. Great wagon ride as well. Great time feeding various animals too.
