Lazy Ranch Review

Don't be scared of the giant horned cows! Very friendly but yes, INTIMIDATING! They just toss their tongue to the side and pour in a handful of food! Same with the buffalo!

Fun, but safe some food for the rest of the trip. They allow you to feed the animals. Don't spend too much time with only one animal

This place is amazing! If bringing little ones please take them to use the rest room before the journey starts. If attending with a family there is a pic nic area. My family had an AMAZING time I see us returning very soon.

We got there exactly at 9:20 and there were a good # of cars already in line. However, the animals were hungry and there are tons of new little babies everywhere. We got the funniest video of that crazy bird and antelope nipping each other. It was so much fun :)

My only con is they don't allow animals. I drove two hours and was refused because I had my Maltese with me. Rules are rules, but I would suggest a doggie daycare so that they don't lose business.

What a great experience! Mikaylah was an awesome tour guide and was very knowledgeable about the ranch and the animals there. I love that she knew them by name! Really enjoyed our experience.

Great place to come with the family! The wagon ride is a must.

Probably will not be going back for a while.. The lines were incredible but understandable. Not enough animals and none of them interested in eating. Price is a little high especially for my 3 yr old grandson. He was extremely bored.

So much fun! My family and I have made so many memories here. We laughed the entire time. You didn't think it was going to be funny, but the animals are so unpredictable in a humorous way. They're all very sweet and even the kids weren't scared to feed them.

Great experience. Lots of diffrent animals and fun for the whole family. You can drive your own vehicle through, but I went as a large group and rode on a wagon. Our guide Rick was very friendly and knowledgeable. Would go back anytime.

Love this place it is absolutely awesome went for the first time without my kids but will be going back with them very soon the price is reasonable there's a lot of animals to see most of which will allow for you to pet them as you are feeding them

The drive through was great! Some of the exhibits not so much. Several had signs up for empty habitats and then some habitats that had something in it didn't have a sign. Also the water where the crane and a few ducks were looked stagnate and not fresh.

This zoo is amazing. Animals are really friendly and the staff is totally amazing. Me and my kids loved this trip. Just one recommendation is to choose vagon ride not go with your car as animals are curious and could easily scratch your car doors. So if you have brand new vehicle than definitely take a vagon

We had an amazing time ! There was a lot more animals than we thought ! So glad we decided to ride the wagon instead of riding through in the car ! You benefit a lot more that way ! We can't wait to go back again !

Great time but a LOT of people. Just take your time and it will be a great trip.

If you want to wait in line for people to feed cows from there windows then this is the place for you...but if your used to seeing cows I wouldn't come here...absolutely ridiculous

Loved it if you come early it won t be a long car ride

My sister and I took my 2 small kids here on a Tuesday at noon. We only got one bucket of food ( should of got 2+). The cows at the begging are kinda pushy and will try to take all the food, if you don't hang on to the bucket hard enough. I wish I would of kept my window ups for the first half mile. When we were there I had 2 people pass me on the grass. I couldn't move. There was a animal in front of and couldn't move. I had run out of payment (food) lol. Also bring some kind of cup/bowl to share the food.

I went back and read some of comments when I got home. The road was bumpy in some spots and could use some TLC but over all it was ok. There also should have more people employees walking/driving around. To keep the cars moving. There is also nowhere once you get into the gates to go to the bathroom. Make sure you go, before you get there. I wish I knew, before I got there. Also if you have small kids bring snacks and drinks for them.

Absolutely awesome contract zoo for children and adults! It is great place! You can drive through it by your own car or take a wagon.

Super interactive and they take awesome care of their animals

We checked the website before driving the hour to the ranch and were unaware that this was a drive through only zoo. Had we been aware of this, we would have made reservations to ride the wagon. Because we didn't, it was either potentially damage our own vehicle or wait two hours until the next wagon tour. Lazy 5 Ranch should really make it clear that it isn't a walk around facility on their website for out-of-towners like us.

Took the family here while they were in town for Christmas, the kids and adults all loved it. Great way to get out the house and still social distance.

Not badly priced but tons of fun had a great experience only thing I've seen was if your driving through the ranch dont honk at people cause your in a hurry it scares the animals and gets you nowhere

We drove through with our own car and had a blast with our 19 month old daughter!

This place is a must do if just visiting Charlotte or a NC resident. We made a day trip from Raleigh on our way to Charlotte. All the animals were so docile and so beautiful. Looks like they are loving life there. Be ready to laugh and have a great time. I would recommend getting there as soon as they open, purchasing more than one bucket of food (the big boys like to steal them) take a car (or preferably a truck) you don't mind getting pellets of food in or slobber on the exterior. It took about 2 hours to get through the ranch and we got there right when they opened. They are cash only also so plan accordingly! $11/person and $3 for one bucket of food. Can't wait to go back!

We had drove 2 and half hours to come! We make it right at the beginning of the ranch and our car starts to over head super bad and would not start, we call to inform them of our problems. They came and helped us and they had given us a chose to get our refund back or that we could use a company vehicle and still go threw it!
The animals was great! Definitely get extra buckets of food, the cows like to take them Definitely would take a truck through it next time! Not really for kids under the age of 1 unless they like to ride like our baby did. Definitely would recommending getting there at 9.
We will be coming back!!! They do only take cash. Definitely GO TO THE WEBSITE AND READ EVERYTHING!!!! Most of the bad comments on here are because people didn t do the research, it says to try to get there before 10 or it can take forever to get through it! We listened and even with all of our car problems we go through it in probably about 2 hours or less.

Drove 3 hours to find out they were a capacity and we couldn't enter. I talked to the guy at the gate and he was extremely rude.

The prices are very high though considering you pay a bunch to get in, and then buy food from them to feed their animals.
I'd suggest bringing pellets for the animals to avoid paying a fortune or running out a quarter way through the trail.

Lazy 5 ranch cool because of the pig's and the birds and there was a peacock in the top of the tree and there was piglet in the mud playing with there mom's.

Always a great time at Lazy 5. I have never seen the amount of traffic as I have seen in all of the years I have been going and they seem to accommodate the overflow fairly well.
Side note: I would suggest they do a better job somehow someway of letting the public know their change in hours during extreme busy times. We drove 1 1/2 hour to find a gentleman holding a sign that they closed at 2 that particular day. No one to offer an apology or explain the details. For a family like ours that have supported this business for years, we considered it a slap in the face.

The truth is that I do not recommend anything this place we waited almost 2 hours to be able to enter after having paid $ 61 for nothing to go around the wheel and the worst thing is that or how to return. One Saturday totally lost what courage and no animal is seen up close, some ports and cows from afar. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM

Beautiful animals in a natural landscape. Direct interaction with the animals. Like being on Safari only you don't have to fly to another continent and hire armed guards, guides, and trackers just to find your way home. Top-notch, well run, nice NC nature preserve!

Such a fun place for the kids to see all kinds of animals. I recommend the wagon ride vs. Driving your car through to see the animals. There are some animals with huge horns that can do a number to your car. You can call before or the day of to reserve a wagon ride. We always pack a lunch when we visit. Fun times!

Yes it is a park with animals but for what you pay to see the animals and they dont come to ur car NOT TO HAPPY

Love this place! The woman who did our wagon ride was friendly and funny!

It was our first time going so we really didn't know what to expect. We had a fantastic time! If you buy animal feed buy more than one bucket! Down side to it is the other people who like to tail gate through the trail because there in a hurry they have no clue as the reason you're stopped or driving slow is there are animals in front of you, use caution on the trail and pull over for the wingnuts so they do not ruin your experience.

So much fun! We took 2 of our kids and one of our grandkids there for the day. We had a blast. Feeding the animals was awesome. Its definitely worth the drive and the money.

We usually love to come to the lazy 5 ranch with the family and we usually have a lot of fun. We decided to go on a Sunday. We even arrived 15 minutes before opening. We waited in line for 2 hours and when we finally got in it was stop and More

We went for the first time today. It was awesome. The staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend taking the guided wagon ride. It's so worth the few xtra $. It includes feed for each person and the guides tell you about the animals, how to feed them, they know their names and origins and the wagon goes in areas the car road doesn't go - plus it's wide open space and the breeze out was so nice! You can also easily feed the giraffes from the wagon. The petting zoo was great too. Clean picnic area and bathrooms. Really nice playground. Although one of the sinks didn't work and they ran out of soap by 3pm (trust me, you need to thoroughly wash your hands after feedings the animals). They have a nice snack bar with icecream, but the staff is super slow as they were elderly folk working there today. Note: Cash only

Grand kids said it was the best day ever.. great time.
