Lawrence Kia is a joke. They get you into the door with guaranteed credit approval and the lifetime warranty but this dealership is awful in terms of customer service and convenience. We went in on 2/06 to look at a car, Nick was the salesmen we dealt with and he initially said that we were approved for a 2019 Kia Soul Base. After expressing discontent with the Base model, Nick came back and said we got approved for a Plus with higher payments. That was fine with us so we sent in the paperwork for financing. That same night, I asked Nick if everything was approved and he said yes, it was all good to go. Okay, awesome. So we make an appointment to pick up the car and submit address verification stuff on the next day 2/07. On that day, we were told that everything was good but that the financing center was closed for the day so we had to come in the next day to finalize everything. They allowed us to take the car with dealership plates under the pretense that the plates would get switched to a 60 day tag the next day. That same day they informed us again that all financing had been approved, the lending company is just looking over things. They also let us know that on 2/08, it would only take about 15 minutes to get everything done. We leave and come back the next day on 2/08, we were sitting there for an hour and a half, keep in mind that we were told this would only take about 15 minutes. After we had been there about an hour, we were informed that the lending company needs a full printout of our banking account statement. We had only submitted the first sheet because we were talk that it's only for residency verification and that it only needed our name and address on it. So we tried to print it out there but our bank account was not letting us log in. We had to drive all the way home, email Nick the statement and then come back again the next day to finally get the 60 day tag. Nick was supposed to let me know on 2/08 when everything got finalized, keep in mind he has already informed us everything was approved. I called 5 times over the course of the day. We had submitted that paper at noon and by 5pm still hadn't heard anything. They closed at 6pm. Around 7pm Nick texted us and said that he hadn't heard anything and that he would have an answer by Monday at 11am. This process should not be taking this long so we decided to just return the car and get our down payment back, which we had already paid. We go in today on 2/09 to take care of that, and when we told them we no longer wanted to do business, THEN they informed us that the lending company had an issue with the verification forms. We got our down payment back after much back and forth and needless explanation as to why we are not going through with the sale, them even going so far as to accuse us of being worried that our financing would not be approved. We live 45 minutes away and more than doubled the mileage on that car just by driving to and from that dealership. They have little respect for your time. They only care about getting your money. Don't waste your time with this dealership. It sounds like they have good deals, but the salesmen are only there for commission, they're pushy and won't take no for an answer. And will only give you a straight answer when you threaten to go elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and look for cars ANYWHERE but here first.
