Last Resort Grill Review

Overall, highly enjoyed my meal. Had the Veggie Stack and the Potato Onion Pancake, both were delicious. Had a spoonful of the curry leek soup of the day and man, I should have gotten more. My only disappointment were the desserts. The cheesecake texture was off and the spiced hummingbird cake was missing spice and cream cheese frosting. These desserts weren't made onsite but with the rest of the menu being so good, odd to end off on a mediocre note.

Delicious! We live about 45 minutes away and we kept talking about how good it was the whole way. We are so going back. The bartenders were truly amazing! !

Sunday Brunch is generally very nice and priced competitively, but realize that it's a popular spot. - so get there when it opens or you may have a short wait. The dinner crowd can be loud and with the acoustics, it can be difficult hearing your companions. Lunch sells out quickly as well. I think this is probably the tastiest food in Athens. It has a small parking lot next to it, but the lot is usually full.

The Last Resort Grill is one of Athens' best-known restaurants. It has been featured in many national publications including Southern Living, and has a reputation for classic fine Southern-inspired dining with a twist. Dining options are varied and always high quality. Brunch prices are very reasonable and there should be something to fit every taste.

In 2019, the proprietors opened another restaurant in town dubbed LRG Provisions. My only concern is that in their zeal to get this new establishment off the ground, they may be missing small problems with the Last Resort Grill. During my last visit, the food was awesome, the staff were courteous and attentive and everything seemed normal until near the end of the meal, I noticed a buildup of dust on the exposed brick wall just beyond our table and directly beside another. A small issue, but glaring nonetheless. If this is getting by, what else is being missed?

Had a girls meet up lunch. This restaurant was suggested as yummy! The burgers didn t disappoint. Make sure you save room for dessert.

I have been to Last Resort twice before and had terrific...but today was a huge departure from my previous experiences. Although the serverwas great, friendly and knowledgeable. The food was lacking. I ordered the quiche which was luke warm. My breakfast potatoes were undercooked and cold. The "Belgium Waffle" was too tough even to cut with my steak knife. Not sure what the problem is, maybe today was an off day but i won't be paying any more money to have an experience like that again. Sad.

Its good food Just nothing amazing. every dish uses the same 5 veggies so its just a matter of how you want it prepared. The desserts are great.

Last Resort is amazing across the board, and it s longevity/success in Athens support this sentiment. Often crowded (because it s delicious), but always worth the wait. I m assuming the majority of Athenians have attended, but if you re visiting, I would highly recommend dining here. Solidly in my top three restaurants in town.

The 6 hour pork was fantastic and I loved the different sauces that accompanied the dish. The fried green tomatoes and hash were the perfect starters for our group and dessert was great too!

What an incredible place to eat! The downside is that it is small and crowded on busy days (which is pretty much every evening), but the upside is everything else on their menu. They honestly have some of the best cheesecake ever.

Great resturant with fast service. Loved the laid back atmosphere and knowledgeable wait staff. They serve local desserts. Best cheesecake I have ever had.

Relatively upscale southern/midwestern style cuisine. Great for brunch too! Also the cakes are awesome. They say they're southern but they have a lot of dishes with chilis, cilatro, salsa verde, etc.

Perennial favorite of exceptional fusion food....always buys..always in demand. Was my most favorite restaurant when I lived in Athens, and I make a point to have a meal whenever I visit it again.

REAL Crab cakes.... Homemade cakes

We had the Salmon and grits and they were some of the best that I had. Place was intimate but still plenty of room. Staff was on point and my husband loved the swordfish house special.

Easy to walk to if you are in downtown Athens.

The mojito was great after a long day exploring Athens.

No matter what you order, these guys exceed your expectations.

Always great food! About anything on the menu is a great choice. Lunch and brunch are a great deal for what you get. Or get half your meal to go. And make sure you save room for the white chocolate cheesecake for dessert! It can get a little loud in main room. But I would definitely recommend eating here.

Very cozy. Great glass of Tiziano Pinot Grigio! Very polite server. Great Mothers Day, first-visit dining experience.
