Hospitalized for five days and it was so helpful to feel like a person who got individual loving care. I felt the concern from all the nurses on the third floor. Thank you for taking such good care of me.
The food was wonderful, tasty and nice variety.
Shout out to Dr. Arby and Dr. Rou. They saw me as a person. Concerned for me and all the needs.
A special shout out to Debra, Case Management, who helped me with issues even after my discharge. Priceless

Everyone there is so kind and caring. And they go out of there way to make you feel cared about. My nurses Elizabeth, Mark and Jackie are so good at their jobs And I appreciate their kindness. And Dr. Krolick and the other doctors are awesome, the best!

Awful treatment. Was left with a kinked IV with an alarm going off for over an hour. Pages to nurse were ignored for over an hour. Unhooked the thing myself and walked out. They were nice enough to send three sheriffs to my house for a welfare check. Luckily my wife just showed them the texts that I had received poor treatment and went to Morton Plant.

The staff couldn t be nicer or more attentive. Positive experience from beginning to end. I recommend this facility. I drove over an hour across the state to have my procedure done there, and it was completely worth it.

I was at the LMC for an ablation on 10/29/19. Everything went very well. Doctors and staff are very professional. The only thing I have to say is that I stayed overnight and usually hospitals have a nurse or another person to call the patient after 24 to 48 hora to find one how one is doing. That is the only black dot I have. Thank you.

I had a procedure done at Largo Medical and I would for sure come back here to have another one if needed! I had students and a big crew around me for support, which was so wonderful. The procedure I had done was being done for the first time at Largo Medical, so there was students watching and performing the procedure. Everyone was wonderful, especially my nurse. She was truly amazing and supportive! I have never felt so comforted before. The medical staff at Largo Med are beyond amazing! They deserve more than 5 stars. Thank you all for making me feel calm during my procedure and thank you for all of your hard efforts during a pandemic. You guys are the real heroes!

Home now. Went thru ER. They were efficient and kind. I was then sent to the 3rd floor. I was just there for 2 days. All the staff was just so attentive and kind. I did freak out a bit and was scared but they took it in stride.
At this point food was the last thing on my mind. It kept me going.
Thank you Largo Medical.

I cant even rate this damn hospital a 1, all the doctors don't even care about the patient. all the testing procedures are so slow, they want us to stay here more time so the medical bills getting bigger and bigger. They doing 1 test and wait until next day the doctor come talk to us, and he ordered another test for the next day; and he come a day after to look at the results again. the worse experience i ever encounter with health care services. Please don't choose Largo Medical Center as your first choice of health cares.

This hospital stay was because of a broken ankle two days before Christmas. Had surgery on Christmas Eve, everything was great. All the nursing staff took great care of me and my spouse. I was given great attitude by all people from admission thru ER to exit.

Went to Emergency Clinic in the evening with extremely high BP (209/104) after monitoring for over 1+ hours at home. I take 2 BP Meds dailey and had taken them that morning. I have been told not to increase my dailey BP Meds for it was "dangerous". I was sent from walk in clinic after they gave me a med to try and drop BP. Instead it went up to 220/106! I was afraid I was going to have stroke. That would not go down and I was in extreme pain from a previous accident. Clinic sent me to largo ER and I was given another med that was supposed to drop it ASAP and it went up to 240/105 instead! I was then given some pain med and soon after BP started coming down (started working after about 45 minutes I believe.) BP ended up coming down to around 135/95 when I was discharged. They gave me a head CAT scan to check for possible damage and it showed I had SinusItis I was totally unaware of. The Doctors and Nurses showed utmost professionalism and were very thorough. They did not make me wait knowing that BP was at extremely dangerous level. Hope I never have to return to ER but if I do I would definitely go to Largo Medical Center. Note: Largo ER had diagnosed "Cat Scratch Fever" on a previous visit being my lymph nodes were large and hurting in my right arm. Who would have known? Again, extremely professional staff, excellent diagnosis and you are treated with respect! Highly recomend largo Med Center!

Dr. Mack and Nurse Julia, are awesome. I came in from out of town, with a scary issue. I checked in the ER at 10:50 and was out by 11:30 and all better. They were so nice. I wish we had Doctors like this in Atlanta

My husband is currently in this facility for what was supposed to be an out patient surgery and now will be there for 2-3 more days. He supposedly has an infection that they didnt start antibiotics for till 24 hours after the surgery. His arm swelled up from them leaving an iv in and not removing it correctly. No one has contacted me to let me know anything. I have 2 kids and dont drive so i cant be there all day waiting for someone to tell me something. Absolutly horrifying. I will NEVER come back here or recommend it to anyone ever. I can wait to see the bill for all of this. He has good insurance. Which im sure is another reason why they are keeping him. Its not about helping people its about making money. What a joke!!

All of the nurses, doctors, and medical coordinators are AMAZING! The transplant team took great care of me along with the staff and nurses a couple months ago to take care of a complication with my liver transplant. The follow up care has been impeccable too in the diagnostic center and they listen to me and are committed to my care. Definitely recommend 10/10

The Doctor, the first nurses, and ancillary staff ...

The Doctor, the first nurses, and ancillary staff that took care of my husband were professional and caring. Results of tests were communicated efficiently, with the exception of a lost flu screen, which had to be recollected. The sad part is the discharging nurse literally yanked his IV out and left him with a large hematoma which is still resolving

Absolutely amazing staff and doctors. My husband had emergency surgery and I'm so glad he was taken there. I've spent a lot of times in hospitals throughout my life, and that was BY FAR the best experience. Although, if you like being bitter and angry, this is NOT the place for you. The staff is not only experienced and attentive, they all have a great attitude. Very kind, optimistic, and even funny. A wonderful place to recover!

It was Memorial Day and something was very wrong so I had to go into the emergency room. They indicated that I needed to pay my $100 co-pay for emergency room visits per my insurance, which I knew. However, what they do not tell you is that they have set up a third party system. This entity then charges both you and your insurance company ridiculous rates even if your insurance is capped at your co-pay like mine. I fought things and my insurance company paid them 500% the going rate for their claim (to the insurance company), hoping it would go away but it did not and they sent my information to a collections agency where I finally paid so that my credit would not be disrupted. These people are of very low moral character and I would not recommend going to this facility.

Went in on a Monday morning approx. 9AM with a tooth abscess, swollen cheek and face, and severe pain from dental surgery the prior Thursday. My dentist office is closed on Mondays. I was greeted by friendly staff at front desk and instructed to sign in at kiosk (scan DL or manual input). By the time I completed registration (2 minutes) and sat down, I was called back. My history was taken by a Nurse, vitals done by Radiography Tech (filling in). I was in and out within 45 minutes, including scripts. The doctor was friendly, thorough, and calmed my fear about the situation. I had no issues whatsoever and would highly recommend this facility.

The staff in the Admitting office are wonderful. Shannelle greeted me with a welcoming smile and Felicia got me registered very quickly. The tech Tara was so informative and caring. I had an unexpected US after the mammogram which caused me concern but the US tech who came over was so assuring and calm. Only positive thoughts she said. I appreciated how urgently both techs reached out to the Radiologist. In the end, all was well.

My 83 yr old mother is there right now-- Oct 23, 2014. Awful, awful, awful. She was scheduled for surgery on Tues and went 36 hours without eating because surgery wasn't done until 11pm (almost 24 hours of fasting) THEN they wouldn't feed her when she asked for food at 6:30 AM because the kitchen wasn't open until 8 !!! Have tried to get info from doctor (Jeffrey Lombard)--- no response. Asked nurse to leave message for doc to contact me (I live out of state) she said she couldn't because everything is electronic and no way to leave a message for the doc. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT???!!! My sister has had to fly down from MA to try to find out what is going on.
And today it got even worse. My sister found my mother at 9:30 AM in the bed, uncovered, head at very uncomfortable angle, having trouble breathing and lying on soiled sheets. THEN.. her doctor, Dr. Jeffrey Lombard, finally showed up at around 5:30 today and then walked off my mother's case when questioned as to why she had surgery on Tuesday and today, Friday, he still hadn't communicated with family or attending physician. He said he didn't know she had family. Guess he didn't know there was an attending physician he needed to communicate with also. He didn't know anyone had called his office to try to talk or meet with him. Said he never got my message or fax even though when I told him who I talked with when I requested he inform family he acknowledged that he does have an employee by that name. Seriously?-- he never got the many messages? Seriously?-- he ditches a patient before replacement doc is in place???

Tara was wonderful. She made it a very pleasant pro experience. You need to get a 3D mammogram machine. Would hate to have to go some where else to receive this service which I need for my health

I took my 3 year old there because he was super sick and had a high fever. The ER doctor told me She must forcibly retract his foreskin. I was told to never do that from multiple doctors beforehand and other moms. I told her that I don't feel comfortable with that and she did it anyway and made me feel stupid. She was extremely rude and made me rush to make a decision on whether I wanted him transferred to all children's or discharged. Ummm....I'm not a doctor!! She wasn't helping us at all. Anyway, I was told by other ppl to never take children there and make the trip to all children's. I told All Children's staff that she had retracted his foreskin while he was screaming bloody murder and they said that all children's ER would NEVER do that. That was like the first thing this lady did. I will never go back there. I go to Morton Plant myself and bring my son to All Children's. Largo Medical is a joke.

The physicians in the emergency room were great, however a bag of fluids was hung but never connected to my IV. Three times someone said they would have this taken care of. By the time I was discharged it had never been connected and was taken down and thrown in the trash. Waste of insurance money! Rest of my care was great.

I work in an ALF. A patient of mine was transported one morning via ambulance to Largo Medical with shortness of breath and a pulse ox of 89. She returned later that afternoon with a report of neg chest xrays and no medications. She continued to worsen quicklyso we sent her again via ambulance to another area hospital. She was diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs. She subsequently passed away from this pneumonia several days later. Perhaps if she had been diagnosed properly the first time, she would have gotten medications much earlier and would have survived. I do my best to never send any patients to Largo Medical!

Hands down the most incompetent and rude staff I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Time spent in the hospital is hard enough as it is without the disrespect that they treat you with. Formal complaints will be made to the medical board. If you are considering this place for anything go to Morton plant instead.

Excellent experience. Everyone is professional, friendly and got me in immediately, Dr. Pandya spent a lot of time with me going over my test results and answering all my questions. I appreciate the time he spent with me and the thoroughness of his explanation. Also he is very easy to interact with.

That is a win. This hospital has been associated with patient untimely deaths. I have lost two family members due to there negligence. Please do not lie about this hospital's record.

The worst hospital experience, other than a great surgeon and medical team. There is no security and the cleaning of room bathrooms is deplorable and maintenance is needed for fixing items such as the blinds. If a family member were not asking for any service it would not happen.

Came in with a severe migraine along with severe pain in lower left flank radiating to lower left abdomen and doctor refused to help me. Refused to give me any pain medications to help. So I'm in here for over 4 hours for absolutely nothing. This is a horrible place to come for help when the doctors refuse to help

Dr Cotter was amazing! I fell and cut my chin open while exercising on vacation. He was attentive, professional and an expert all around! I have never received a better service at any facility ! The staff was efficient and caring. I was in and out in a timely manner . So impressed!

My husband was transported by ambulance to the ER ...

My husband was transported by ambulance to the ER from work for severe chest pain. My main issue with this facility was with the nurses station and a particular nurse, Jason. He was obnoxiously loud the entire 5 hours we were there and very unprofessional. I m sure he s highly aware of how loud he is as he seemed to crave attention the entire time we were there from other colleagues. Himself and the nurse ( long black hair with glasses) who was taking care of my husband were openly talking about a encounter for the whole ER to hear. Jason continuously used curse words throughout his elaborate story (and in general) and had a whole group of workers watching a video of an encounter that happened. the nurse started to reenact the encounter for which seemed like story time for her colleagues, wailing her hands and cursing and stating what she should have said and done.
When my husband was discharged by Dr. Snyder, whom was the only good thing that came out of this scare, the nurse came in and literally had to stand there awkwardly to read the discharge papers because she obviously had no clue what was going on. She seemed very lost and spoke as as if she was uneducated. I was embarrassed for her. She then suggested that my husband does not have to take what the doctor suggested and to just take otc medications instead . Yet, if she focused on her JOB instead of telling stories, she would know that he is beyond taking OTC as his condition is severe.
Being a teaching hospital you should consider Teaching your staff to be professional.

Came in by ambulance after a car accident. was put in a "fast track" room. no bed just a chair to sit on after being put in the waiting room for over an hour. Mind you I just got into a car accident. Mentioned the pain areas, including neck and back problems. ER doctor did not want to get x-rays of my neck and back. came in for 2 minutes with a student. looked at me and discharged me. Again, car accident. Known heart condition (let them know about it again because they never seem to look at charts on the person). Nothing was done period. Worst experience ever!

I was at Largo Medical for 3 days following an ER ...

I was at Largo Medical for 3 days following an ER visit. A CT scan was performed while in ER and afterwards the technician wheeled me back to my room, closing the door behind her. A few minutes later, my bottom lip felt funny and I noticed that my palms were very red. Then my arms had red streaks and then hives and blisters popping up on my arms and within a couple minutes, both my entire arms were covered with then all the way around to just above my elbow. I pushed the call button for the nurse, but no one came. After ten more minutes and worsening by the minute, I had to wander out into the hallway to find a nurse and tell her I was having a reaction to the contrast media used for the scan. Many people are allergic to the contrast and often their airways become obstructed because of swelling in their throat or mouth and they cannot breathe. Fortunately, that did not happen to me, but it very well could have, and nobody would have known until it was too late. The door was closed so no one could see me, no one checked on me, or even responded when I pushed the call button for the nurse. You would think that in an emergency room, of all places, you would have a certsin degree of safety when an unexpected medical event occurs, that someone would notice, and that someone would help you. They should monitor patents for reactions after administering things that could cause allergic reactions, and they should come when someone pushes the call button, especially in the ER because it could be a life threatening situation.

During my 3 day stay, I wasnt fed breakfast or lunch, only dinner the two nights I spent there. I had no dietary restrictions so I guess they just forgot about me when it was time to eat. Also, I asked the nurse for another blanket but she never brought one so I froze the whole time I was there. By that point I had given up so I didn't ask again.

Also, my bed was broken and the motor that controls the firmness of the mattress kept kicking on every few minutes, airing up my mattress and then letting air out so I was up and down the whole time and it kept me from being able to sleep without the noise and movement waking me every few minutes.

I came home with the electrode stickers from the heart monitor still stuck all over me because the nurse didn't remove them when she disconnected me from the machine prior to discharge.

So not the best patient care while I was there.
However, they got me into the ER quickly and were good about having the diagnostic tests ordered and performed without delay.

Extremely helpful triage nurses in ER. I came in with an extremely infected abscess tooth.. and they gave me antibotics and motrin. That's more than the dentist I went to did for me.. so thank you guys so much! All I wanted was antibotics so the infection didn't get worse. Great team at Largo Medical, and I highly recommend this hospital.

I only had to go for blood work recently, but this is not my first time at largo medical. And has been my to go to hospital for many years. I have had several surgeries here and have been treated with respect and cared for with compassion. I never had a reason to complain. I was always taken care of and felt I was in good hands.

AMAZING STAFF!! Our family prefers this hospital above all. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and quick on their feet. The most attentive, friendly and caring staff. They have a good strong team that works hard and gets the patients taken care of. Checked in by a very professional man Mr. Heinz who was attentive and very good at multi tasking, and dealing with sick and in pain patients. A thank you to the talented Dr. Welbern for her acurate and quick diagnosis and treatment. Thanks to Lance the RN, who was extremely patient and knowledgeable, Larry the phlebotomist, and the triage ladies that seen us first. This is our go to Hospital. We highly recommend this Hospital.

Wonderful experience when I needed help the most. The emergency room staff was professional and prompt. I was admitted and the nurses, Eve, in the third floor was so experienced and helpful. It goes a long way when you need help and the nurses are nice. The surgeon team was dynamic and professional under Dr. Jesse, Dr. Brieley is helping to mold wonderful surgical leaders of the future. I am comforted knowing this kind of care is right around the corner when I need it! Awesome job! Awesome hospital! Awesome experience! Well mostly awesome, it still was painful!

Nurses were good but cardiac doctors need some patient retraining. Went there with a rapid heart rate, received drugs to bring it down. They did an echocardiogram on the night of the 14th, the hospital cardiologist finally came in the next afternoon late and said he hadn t read it and wouldn t get to for a few more hours. Well now they can t find a record of it, almost a week later. I can t get it, even my personal cardiologist can t get it, the hospital has no record of it. God forbid something happens to me because of this and my loved ones will own this hospital. The most incompetent hospital I have ever been in, if I were dying and this was the closest I d tell them to take me to Morton Plant.

I didn't receive the level of care I should have, one of the techs left me in the bathroom to do another nonemergency call, while I just had surgery, and another took my blood sugar without gloves on.

ER was horrible! Most of the nurses where uncaring, specially one named Shannon! Was told my heart rate crashed to single diggets in recovery after galbladder surgery.
No explanation why? Room was never cared for. Welcome kit... water pitcher, toothpaste, toothbrush, klenex, also a wrist band stating I was a fall risk never opened or placed on my wrist!!! Sat on pile of dirty bedding that got changed once in 5 days. Never given chance to shower or even sponge bath option! Nurses just really cared more about hanging around gossiping the first 3 days . It would take anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes for a response to get pain meds after pressing nurse call button or had to ask several times because they would forget. ... was treated like I was bothering them on every call. Just don't go here unless you don't value your life and love being treated like a number.

This was the first time I had surgery in my life. The entire staff did far more than just their jobs; they really cared about me and put me at ease at every step of the process. AG and Mark 2 were especially exemplary. Thanks to all for your excellence.

My husband entered Lago Medical Center on Thursday...

My husband entered Lago Medical Center on Thursday, September 17th at approximately 11:30 AM. He was supposed to have a tube inserted into his pleural cavity of his right lung to drain fluid that day. They starved him all day, and about 7:10 PM, they informed him that the procedure would not be done. The cafeteria closed at 7:00 PM, but they did have some trays that were dropped off at the nurses station (when, who knows) and they would microwave one for him (seriously?) He was starving & thirsty. They remembered to bring the tray about 8:30 PM, that's right, about 1 hour & 20 minutes after he agreed to eat anything they could bring. A small piece of turkey with a dollop of gravy, a thimble full of cranberry sauce & a golf ball size of stuffing, a tiny cup of diced peaches & a small dreadful chocolate pudding. Again, I reiterate, how long did this food sit on the nurses station before they nuked it for him? It was there at least 1 hour & 20 minutes after they offered it, so how long before?

Friday morning, the doctor came in about 9:00-9:30 AM all apologies. A computer glitch (really?). My husband said he was starving & the doctor assured him the procedure would be done early. Again, no food or beverage. About 5:00 PM, the nurse came in and said they could not get him in as he was not on the schedule (who's fault is that?), and since they do not do procedures on weekends, he would have to wait until Monday. My husband balked and she said she would call the doctor who would probably yell at her and see if they could get someone to perform the surgery on Saturday. Plus, she would order him a personal pan pizza & cheesecake, which never came. She never came back to tell him what was going on. About 6:05PM, he called me and said he wanted to come home. He was so darn hungry and thirsty. I called a friend and we got there about 7:15 PM (We live in Pasco County) and drove him right to a fast food drive thru.

He never got any IV fluids. He got nothing. He asked for a pillow and never got it,. They never answered the call button when he depressed it. They left him like a puppy mill dog to starve & die of thirst.

They never even provided a rapid covid-19 test on him.

Who treats human beings like this? I cried all night Thursday/Friday knowing the man I dearly love was being treated so poorly.

I had to wait 1 hour and 20 minutes for a pre-admission blood test and EKG. Too long. The receptionist and nurses were excellent. Although they did use a faulty devise that registered my blood pressure as 134/81. I requested that they retest with a different devise, which resulted in a normal reading of 108/68.

Excellent facility excellent staff. The receptionist is always so helpful and pleasant in the admissions area. The admissions clerk went out of her way to contact my pcp for a compensable diagnosis for my lab work. The ladies in the lab can do blood draws without hardly feeling any pain. They are such highly trained and pleasant professionals. This is why my Mom and I only go to Largo Medical Center for our lab work. A very well run and clean facility. My Mom was admitted there about a year ago. She received the best care she could've received anywhere. She was absolutely amazed how pleasant and attentive everyone was to her. This is why our family stays and refers Largo Medical Center.

I went in pretty fast didn't have to wait long. I go for the check up and I think her name was Susan. She was asking me questions like usual and I was 12 at the time. I was with my dad and she asked me if I'm pregnant, I said no, then she asked me how to I know. Like im pretty sure i would know, then my whole time there they treated me like I was pregnant

The worst hospital ever, the doctors in the NICU are Condescending and once they give a prognosis what they think that s it.
I asked over and over multiple times to see my mom s scans and was told I could see them never will they brought to me. All they did is sending another member of staff to re-tell me the same information somebody else told me. Then they kept sending hospice in day after day to talk about the decision when I had done already said I don t want any of that I believe with time my mom can heal.
Then to top it all off every time I asked or told her doctor that I wanted my mom transferred to Tampa General they said ok I ll call but I don t think their gonna take her because we re doing everything they can do. But never did we ever hear anything of said phone call that was said to be supposed made
BULL DUTY!!!

Worst experience I have ever had. Worst Residence program I have ever seen. It s out of control. Had one Resident who had the wrong coat on overriding the opinion of a 25+ year cardiologist. I was lied to about testing. He supposedly checked my blood, from blood that was never drawn. I saw 10 separate Doctors and got 10 different options. Apparently they report to no one and they just run unchecked doing whatever they want. I had Inez Blonde first year resident who could not even figure out what meds to give after 5 tries. I have Been an EMT for 20 years and this is the worst hospital I have ever seen. I would lay in my own blood and vomit and die before I would go back to Largo Med.

I recently went in for lab work. Everyone in Admitting was friendly and professional. The concierge was a nice added touch from the last time I had been there.

The lab experience was great. There was no wait, and the Techician was very personable and professional also.
