Favorite movie house to see international, documentaries and offbeat comedies. This is the only place I really like the previews so I can decide what to see next. I also like the cider selection which was delicious.

Interesting and fun film selection. Convenient location. Pleasant staff. Solid beer choices. Only downsides are how far the bathrooms can be from the theaters and the small size of the theaters. Get there early for a good seat.

It's a theater. Overpriced concessions but it's clean and comfortable. They do also have beer and wine for sale which is nice. I believe there's a limit though, which is probably a good thing haha. Parking in the structure is costly and street parking is tough to find. I'd metro it.

They sold front seat tickets when the seats are really close to the screen. The movie was great but this is terribly rude. They should have excluded that front row when counting available seats/tickets.

A great place to check out a movie. As a theater specializing in independent films, you won't find the latest big blockbuster, but the choices are just as exciting. There is a full bar and lots of food options far superior to what you'll find at most theaters and the customer service is always so warm and friendly.

I am a frequent guest of this theatre. The concession stand has a variety of delicious options. There is also a limited wet bar. The movies are always new and mostly films that are not the usual Hollywood blockbusters. The theatres are usually clean and the bathrooms in working order. My only complaint is that they only have 1 set of restrooms by the confessions. If you were at the last theatre at the end of a very long hallway, you would have to race to the end of the hall, then past the concession stand in order to get there.

Some of the theaters are particularly small, and some are placed at strange angles within the building. The shows that they screen, however, and the weekend cult classics that they lean into, as well as the rather exceptional service and *generally fine layout plan, make this cinema spectacular.

The best! Great theaters, great staff, great location, and a glass of wine. What more could you want? Seats are also well-tiered so that those in front of you don't block your view. Theaters are smaller and more intimate, perfect for the more independent movies they show. I always pull up their showtimes in Rotten Tomatoes and choose something in the 90's.. can't go wrong!

Great location, friendly staff, clean, empty theatres, real food and drink! Great movies. A fun experience and a great habit for after-work entertainment in the City, and the best movie theatre in DC.

My favorite theater in DC. It offers films outside the standard blockbusters, is clean, and offers decent food by movie theater standards. And a movie theater that sells alcohol is always a nice touch.

They play limited release movies and serve beer, wine, and more gourmet-styled food than the chains do. That makes this place exceptional. Enter through the front doors and you're at a kiosk or using the human guest service employee to get your ticket(s). After that, you take stairs/elevator down into the dark basement where your cinematic experience begins. Bathrooms on the right, concessions on the left, and your theater awaits you straight ahead. Go there and have a blast!

Perfect place to see all the beat new, shorts, international, and indie movies. Took my handicap dad to see a new doc and was able to park in a handicap spot next to the elevator. However, I wish the parking lot had more signs. It wasn t clear which entrance was for the theater.

Great indy film venue, and the full bar is a bonus. Love the popcorn and other concessions. You also don't have to ask for water, a pitcher is set in front of the counter. There will be no cell service, so don't even try.

One of my favorite theaters in the district. Landmark reliably offers a solid mix of commercial and indie films, offered with a extensive menu of food and drinks. E St manually offers film festival specials including the (Oscars) Nominated Shorts as well as occasionally offering fun events or other special screenings.

Favorite theater in the area. The Landmark chain tends to play more artistic films (won't find too many blockbusters here). They have fun special events ex. cult film showings. Great location in the city (public transit accessible). Snacks and alcoholic drinks available for purchase (sweet potato tater tots are delicious). The theaters are on the smaller side and the seats are decent. Student discounts available. I love that they show the Oscar Nominated short films (live action and animation) every year!

Multiplex downtown, a few blocks from the arena. Broad selection of movies, many without spandex. Rocky Horror on weekends. Full service snack stand with wine bar. They were showing animated shorts during Grammy season. Some houses are small, so look here for movies at the end of their runs. Restaurants in area, too.

i was frustrated that they wouldn't let me take two beers at once before a movie. i was trying to take one in for a friend that would be coming late and didn't want them to have to be later than they were already going to be by waiting at the concession stand. it seems that if i actually wanted to avoid coming back out in the middle of a 2+ hour movie, that it would be ideal for myself even to have two beers on hand. other than that debacle, the theater was clean. it's definitely on the older side and doesn't have today's luxuries. and parking is tricky. but i love supporting smaller theaters.

Not a very big theater and they start the movies right on time. This was my first time there & because I was looking for parking I got in the theater 12 mins late and the movie had already started. Most movies get started 20 mins later due to previews. It's hard to find parking there and garage parking is expensive. The only reason I went to that theater was because the movie "If Beale Street Could Talk" was only showing in selected theaters and that was the closest one to me. It's nice & clean, but not worth me going back there.

One of the only places to see Indie movies in DC. It is centrally located which makes it good to get to. The movie I wanted to see was sold out so I had to wait for the next showing. Luckily the Portrait Gallery is nearby so we hung out there until it was time. The concession stand at this theatre is very good. They have more "gourmet" type options and even craft beer.
