This company would rather save a few bucks over ensuring employee safety. They hire inexperienced and unlicensed people for projects. Safety is not a priority for them. I highly doubt they comply with OSHA.
My husband took a job as a crane operator with this company. They did not tell him up front that he would work as a general laborer when the crane was not needed. Wages were a lot lower than what he made in prior jobs, which made us suspect of what kind of operation they ran from the beginning. As the months wore on he reported plenty of safety concerns to the safety team that were never addressed. He eventually refused to work 150 ft in the air unharnessed, and I coaxed him to report the unaddressed safety issues to HR. His life wasn t worth this job. Rather than address safety non compliance, HR laid him off and promised two weeks severance, which we have yet to see. He has reached out to find out when we can expect it, but they are ignoring him and not returning his calls or texts. This place is far from operating in compliance with OSHA. It will only be a matter of time before someone loses their life working for this company. Prospective employees should proceed at their own risk, and require any job offer, severance package, etc. be in writing. This company does not keep or abide by verbal promises, job descriptions, etc.
Follow up: They sent my husband a letter to sign, stating he wouldn't report any safety violations or speak badly of the company, if he wanted his two weeks severance. We chose to go without the severance, because prospective employees need to know what they are getting into with this company.
