Lakeside was using the (only) driveway out of my apartment complex as a parking lot. Not too bad, the driveway is extra wide, so no harm there. It was a little difficult to see oncoming traffic as a result, but hey, I chose to live on a highway, I'll deal with that every day issue. I'm in the "lane" to make the legal left turn onto the highway (crosses 2 westbound lanes, break in the double yellow line, enter into left lane of 2 eastbound lanes of said highway). Typically I need to wait 90 seconds or so for a sizable break in traffic to make said turn, but I've never been unable to make the legal left turn. Well this morning, a Lakeside construction worker decided to be either my parent (because I must not understand how to make a left turn here, only being a 30 year old adult) or a police officer (because the Township supplied officer wasn't meeting this worker's standards) and stepped in front of my vehicle. 5 minutes later he's still there, no oncoming traffic. When I roll my window down and tell him I need to make the left he shouts back that he's trying to keep me from being in an accident (again NO ONE was coming in either direction). I say this and he responds "fine then smash up your car." Yes, unlawful detainment is very professional. I would no recommend using this company since they obviously have no respect for the people that they are working around.
