Thoroughly enjoyed by grown ups and children, loved the informative feeding displays and find the fish hunt. Gorgeous little cafe with fire which was welcomed as it was rather a chilly day! Large souvenir shop with wide range of products.

I never thought that there was so much variety of life in the Solway. A great no frills aquarium that is very good value. We got a voucher for free crazy golf. Bonus. Cafe is great. It has the same opinion of salad as I do.

Visited here whilst on holiday with friends and family. Over priced for what s on offer. Kids were bored quickly. Have been to better aquariums back home in Scotland that also offer more fun elements, hence the 3 star rating.
Cafe was quite nice and staff pleasant.
Plenty parking outside the aquarium

Lovely little aquarium, great for kids to see and learn. Stools available for better viewing for kids and pools where you can touch the sea life were a highlight. Food was good in the cafe and reasonably priced, despite it clearly bring the local pensioner hotspot it catered well for children with high chairs, microwave and crayons all available to use. Nice day out

Well presented for children and adults alike. Disability friendly too. Lovely little cafe and shop to end the day after seeing the large variety of fish.

The kids sensory pool is good for the young ones. Daily talks in the different sealife at the aquarium & a good sized park at the rear. You can re enter later too as the ticket is an all day ticket.

Great Aquarium, lots to see, staff very knowledgeable, informative and passionate about what they do. It's great they have lots of amazing projects like starfish rehabilitation and a lobster nursery. They aim to introduce thousands of lobsters back into the local coastline. Will definitely go again. could do with updating some of the graphics around the exhibits but that's a very minor thing. Well done.

This is a very good aquarium especially for kids. It is not the biggest but had a good amount of species of fish and they are mainly all locally found in the sea surrounding the aquarium. All in all a good day out

Loved it. Local aquarium, a short drive from Carlisle in a small coastal town. Total wheelchair access, all knowledgeable & amazing staff, nice cafe with freshly made snacks. Excellent value for money. Entertained 3 adults for over 2 1/2 hrs, with no knowledge, pre interest or background. Would be fantastic for kids. We got to touch rays, anemones and star fish. Also saw baby seahorses and lobsters. Learned loads and was surprised by the variety. They also have mini golf and you can spend as much time as you like in the aquarium. Don't go expecting sea life type place and you will have a great time. Disability access really good, wheelchair was able to get round all exhibits and good facilities. Visited 7/6/17

Had a fantastic time - even during COVID on a windy breezy day. Took my little girl here for her 3rd birthday and she was in awe of the place. Staff were friendly, place was super prepared with COVID systems in place. Sadly, but rightly too, we couldn't touch the fish or feed them to prevent passing anything to the fish, but it was still great to get upfront, close and personal with stingrays, star fish and more... thank you for making my daughters birthday still special in these difficult times. Crazy golf was family fun too.

Fishtastic!

Fishtastic!
It's great for the price and my daughter loves it. The staff are really enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The building is a bit tired, but the aquatic display tanks are always well kept and interesting. And there's lots to lern about ecology and environment.

The nearby park shares the same opening times. There's a cafe, gift shop, ice cream, fishing tackle and a small amusement area too.

We go regularly.

We took a chance on a rainy day and drove an hour to the aquarium. We were delighted we did and we filled the entire day there, the kids loved it. It's no frills and we've been too far more amazing aquariums but not learnt as much or had such a fun packed day. All british fish, we got to touch sea anemone, starfish, watch octopus hunt and feed. We stroked sting ray, completed a quiz for a prize. Brilliant cafe food, the fishcakes and place where top notch. The crazy golf was tired but 14 holes of fun and then we found the outdoor kids play area which was the icing. Great staff, brilliant find, highly recommended.

My son had a great time, he especially loved the Ray Pool.
Had been before so knew not too eat here, found a fantastic pub just round the corner for lunch.
There's a decent park outside if the weather's good.
The Aquarium is fine, small but with lots of interesting marine life, just feel there is something missing.

Well designed and attractive to children who loved it. Excellent collection of fish from home and abroad. Demonstrations were excellent from a knowledgeable staff and the cafe provided a refreshing end to a good experience. Only one comment that prevents a 5 star rating: some of the descriptive cards were located too high on wall or round a corner making them difficult to read. Otherwise a great place for a wet day!

Only visited the cafe for coffee and it was almost full (Saturday morning) so they must be doing something right! Also a good fishing tackle shop attached which has a great selection at great prices
