An old-fashioned aquarium. The staff were great, welcoming and knew their stuff.
An old-fashioned aquarium. The staff were great, welcoming and knew their stuff.
Very well presented a delight to be able view all the displays etc
Social distancing impossible with 1 door for entrance and exit.
Old man at thee door is rude and abonxious.
Our rain cover for pushchair had broken and he wouldn't let a baby wait in the door to keep dry.
great place for family's & children good value cafe & a great exhibition
Enjoy coming here, absolutely had a brilliant day out. Loved the new part too was so interesting.
Very friendly staff. But aquarium very tired and not to clean.
Lovely and interesting aquarium, going from freshwater to tropical , touched the rays and watched feeding time. A little gem of a place
Nice little aquarium was perfect for an afternoon indoors on what was a rainy day, ray pool were you could stroke the stingrays was great
Great place. Friendly staff. Bought a yearly family pass
A great place to head. 7 of us enjoyed the day here going round the aquarium - especially the Ray section where you can touch them. Learned about lots of local sea life.
The team also offered us crazy golf for free, which was great. We all enjoyed the course. It could, however, do with some minor fixes and tidying of the courses. The numbers on the course weren't visible. But we all played just fine.
However, an overall enjoyed day.
Great Aquarium, lots to see, staff very knowledgeable, informative and passionate about what they do. It's great they have lots of amazing projects like starfish rehabilitation and a lobster nursery. They aim to introduce thousands of lobsters back into the local coastline. Will definitely go again. could do with updating some of the graphics around the exhibits but that's a very minor thing. Well done.
Well laid out. Good displays. Great place to visit on a wet day.
Nice 9 pitch site situated in the Harbour area, town only 5 minutes walk away.
Brill place for a half day. Only reason for 4 stats is that it is littke bit expensive for a fact that it isn't a big place.
loved it
learned a lot.
people were friendly and tried to help.
Great for the children. Lovely tea room onsite but this does get busy at times because it is open to the public. Also a nice gift shop.
Spent a couple of hours at the aquarium. Plenty of hand sanitiser available and a one way system in place keeping everyone safe. Well worth the money.
A bit expensive on the entrance fee but we did get a discount on a group booking. Informative and enjoyable Aquarium lots of photo opportunites. Cafe on site very nice and food was good. We were able to find some inexpensive gifts for the children. The crazy golf was fun .... until it rained!! Play Area near buy as well. Staff helpful and friendly. Mini kids activity to do on way round, once completed free stickers!
Excellent day out for the family. Can come and go all day with the same ticket. Hourly feedings and talks usually from 12.
Fabulous day out. So much to see. Very good value. Talks are informative and staff so nice. The cafe has delicous food and cooked to order. The crazy golf is such a laugh, especially if you are beating the grand kids. Well done Maryport council. Excellent. The town is now TOP of our visits when we travel over from Tyneside. Always a good day out. Philip stephenson.
Lots to see. Information displays could be better presented
Great range of aquatic life. Great for kids and sea life enthusiasts.
Small but entertaining aquarium. Lots of different fish, mostly local, but shown in their natural habitat. Opportunities to touch the rays and watch fish being fed. Reasonable cafe, though it can get a bit crowded. Well stocked gift shop.
Great for Kids and Adults alike frendly staff and a good amount of different Fish and othe Sealife
Lovely to take the children to something like this - it was fun and educational - fish, lobster and their babies, starfish and seahorses - they could touch and look - a nice gift shop and cafe - friendly staff and easy access
Good option for a rainy day, not too far a drive from the central Lake District.
Took my littlest daughter for her birthday to see 'Baby Shark' she was mesmerized , absolutely loved it . So many displays of healthy aquatic creatures , it's fantastic , put this place on your to-do list you will not be disappointed !
Small and intimate aquarium, this only took less than two hours to get around but you could revisit as many times as you liked upto closing time. It was a little slippy underfoot due to a very wet floor but the fish tanks were clean and the fish happy and healthy.
We had a great time.
Had fun on the crazy golf and fantastic food in the cafe....as always.
Great and well informed place to visit with my two grandchildren. Thay also welcome children with learning disabilities. Well thought out.
Didn t enjoy. Not very clean at all. Kids got bored
Really good and interesting lobster farm, with a very knowledgeable and friendly man who told all about breeding lobsters. The cake in the cafe was massive and we'll worth the money A+++
Excellent, great small aquarium which includes crazy golf.
Small coastal aquarium. Really enjoyable morning out. They do lots of breeding programmes and entrance fees fund these. Kids loved seeing the baby seahorses and lobster.
The experience was lovely despite covid restrictions. Everything was clean and antibacterial foam was available throughout. Lots of sealife to see throughout. The staff were very informative and pleasant :)
This aquarium is so good because of the ray pool where visitors are able to touch the fish. The only aquarium I've found anything even comparable is in Atlanta where you can feed the rays with tiny fish but you still can't touch them.
What an amazing place! Had visited here 8 years ago and it is still as amazing!! It was great to see the baby rays and to learn how they are formed. The cafe is great too selling lovely homemade food.
Really nicely presented, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good engagement for children. Good afternoon out!
Lots of interest fish and some very large fish on display
Excellent place for visit Aquarium very good must see .staff very good. Food excellent.
Not the place to see much exotica but excellent for our local species
Great place to pass some time, also nice to see they are working so hard to help our oceans, keep up the great work
Great place for children and adults, lots of different things to see and hear about, the cafe is lovely too and lots of different things to buy in the gift shop.
100% perfect, informative, good getting to see fish being fed.
Reasonably well stocked Aquarium with hands on experiences. Cafe offers very nice snacks/meals and lovely cakes and scones.
Great location.bit tight in place s to get around inside but good variety of sea life and a very nice cafe
Geat independent aquarium.focusing on the local species of fish in well designed exhibits
My daughter is an aquarist there. The Cafe is really good, there's a gift shop and the displays are great. But I'm biased.
Amazing place by far one of the best aquarium in Cumbria
Small but entertaining aquarium. Lots of different fish, mostly local, but shown in their natural habitat. Opportunities to touch the rays and watch fish being fed. Reasonable cafe, though it can get a bit crowded. Well stocked gift shop.
For such a relatively small aquarium (compared to some of the larger, city-based ones), there is certainly a lot to see here!
My personal highlights included the Ray tank/enclosure (where you were actually allowed to touch the Rays (but *not* any other fish)) and the "lab", which housed a number of younger versions of things visible elsewhere (baby seahorses, anemones, moray eels, jelly fish - and more!)
Really good and interesting lobster farm, with a very knowledgeable and friendly man who told all about breeding lobsters. The cake in the cafe was massive and we'll worth the money A+++
Love this place for a Sunday lunch. Friendly staff..nice views...good food.
We enjoyed our day out and the food at the restaurant is delicious. Friendly staff too.
Servants are very helpful and the food is just to tasty not eat
Very interesting place, really enjoyed walking round the Aquarium learning about the Cumbria costal water sea life.
Very nice aquarium, good place to learn about the local fish. Some parts require updating (signage)
Excellent day out with the family. Great value tasty food in the cafe and super outdoor play area
