Nice setup they've got here. Good for kids as there is mini golf and a nice play area.
Nice setup they've got here. Good for kids as there is mini golf and a nice play area.
Good cafe and seating area and lots of parking and facilities
The parking is easily accessible. The staff are friendly and well mannered, even with noisy children around. There's plenty to see and do and the cafe is quite accommodating for weary travellers.
Rather expensive and not a great range of species to view.
Called in for a latte very pleasant friendly place
Quite a lot of local coastal information.
Children always enjoy the tanks and there is a find the fish exercise to complete on the way round. Small seaside town attraction. Free crazy golf, again great for the children. Plenty of parking, reasonable entrance fees, friendly and informative staff.
Lots of fish to look at. Fresh and salt water .Ray tank a real winner. Decent gift shop. Tickets last all day so can leave and return later
Although small it was great for my young toddler friendly staff and was nice and quiet when we went.
100% perfect, informative, good getting to see fish being fed.
Fabulous food in the restaurant despite the noisy chairs scraping along the floor! Good shop for souvenirs.
Have not been for a few years but really enjoyed the experience
I visited the aquarium and cafe today with a disabled lady who I care for. I found the staff very helpful and friendly. They lent me a wheelchair and were very kind.
After we had been around the aquarium, we had sandwiches in the cafe and the lovely waitress boxed up our unfinished food for us which was so thoughtful. Highly recommended.
Great place to see the local sea life of the Solway Estuary, opportunities to join in feeding and educational activities for the kids. Lots of parking outside, wheelchair accessible. Good cafe inside. Worth a visit.
A really wonderful attraction. Maryport is a fantastic place to visit! Firstly it s beautiful.
Clip and climb is brilliant.
The maritime museum is interesting.
The Roman fort and museum is excellent.
But the Aquarium is the jewel in the crown. I ve been going for years, I love it as do the family.
The exhibits are fascinating, you can just float around and observe or you can full on learn! The talks are interesting and entertaining. The fish are well looked after, healthy and seem happy.
The Ray pool is amazing.
It s a great place to eat or have a snack with amazing views over the harbour and solway to the Hills of Galloway and Criffle.
The staff are very friendly, and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble.
I actually go there to buy fishing tackle. I love aquatic life and rate this as the best aquarium I ve been to.
Great little aquarium, staff friendly and helpful, shop and cafe , parking nearby and a disabled entrance .
Clean warm friendly and good soup crusty roll and cuppa
A lovely aquarium focussing primarily on Solway species. Taking you from the river to estuary to sea. Lots of details, fantastic staff helpful enthusiastic and informative. They are working on restocking lobsters. Great couple of hours and nice cafe too.
Do you want to know more about fishes? _ This is the right place in Maryport to know about carps, black basses, starfishes, and so on and so forth.
It's a nice little aquarium, full of lots of interesting aquatic life.
There is a cafe overlooking the harbour, gift shop, mini golf and children's play park on site for when you've had enough looking at tanks.
Good place to take children, young and old.
A bit expensive on the entrance fee but we did get a discount on a group booking. Informative and enjoyable Aquarium lots of photo opportunites. Cafe on site very nice and food was good. We were able to find some inexpensive gifts for the children. The crazy golf was fun .... until it rained!! Play Area near buy as well. Staff helpful and friendly. Mini kids activity to do on way round, once completed free stickers!
A good option if the weather isn't great. Crazy golf was a bonus. Both our children (5 and 9) really enjoyed the visit.
Mary Port, terrible! Don't waste your 80p on parking
Great place to go for an afternoon..plenty to c for the kids and grownups.. Food and service allways top rank
It's ok, but not the best aquarium I've visited by some way. It's on a par with several other smaller coastal aquarium's in the UK. However I think for the experience which is about 1 hour it is overpriced. For the family ticket 2 plus 2 More
Worth a visit if weather not to good. A tad old school but not bad.
My son had a great time, he especially loved the Ray Pool.
Had been before so knew not too eat here, found a fantastic pub just round the corner for lunch.
There's a decent park outside if the weather's good.
The Aquarium is fine, small but with lots of interesting marine life, just feel there is something missing.
Didn t enjoy. Not very clean at all. Kids got bored
Surprisingly large collection with informative displays, a children's area ,shop and cafe.
Nice place, well looked after fish, educational displays, good social distancing measures at the start and masks are required, though people tend to crowd together very close in some areas such as the ray tank.
Outstanding, world class. What it lacks in scale it far than makes up with quality.
I have been there with a group I'm with you can go in and interact with most of the animals that are in there and if there is a group of you try the Crazy Golf well worth it
A wonderful few hours here, very interesting and informative. It is worth booking online for the free game of crazy golf.
Oh very interesting with lots to do for little ones
Been there a few times always enjoy my visits. Good breakfast served there.
Lovely clean cafe happy helpful staff and lovely food
Definitely worth a visit especially if you have children
My kid loves it. We have to go there frequently. Worth visiting this aquarium. Nice area in Maryport.
Decent little aquarium kids loved touching the rays
Very surprised. It was one of the best I have been too. Better than London Aquarium. Small but lots of interesting things to see.
Excellent food and service. Gluten Free food available.
Always manage to find something new at this place nice cafe is a bonus
Good attraction for kids of all ages , with 2 touch pools , although 1 pool you can only stroke the backs of the Thornback Rays & none of the other fish in the tank the other one is a tank with Starfish, Hermit Crabs , Sea Anemones etc
Got talking to the lobster man in the 'lab' who showed us around the hatchery and the baby lobsters. Totally made the trip!
Love fish life , lots to see and the ice-creams are wonderful
Enjoyed taking my Grandchild round. Covid measures good and good cup of coffee in the cafe.
Well stocked aquarium, great array of species, knowledgeable staff giving talks at feeding time at the shark and ray tank. Interesting hatchery, where you can see baby rays, sea horses and sharks.
Very friendly staff. But aquarium very tired and not to clean.
Excellent facility, good VFM and knowledgeable presenters.
Popped in for some lunch before going to clip n climb. Great cafe with lots of options. I had a baked potato and prawns, properly oven baked potato with a generous filling. Staff were very friendly and the food came quickly despite it being good busy.
Nice themed aquarium that's open throughout the year (as most of the town isn't). Great indoor wave machine.
Ice cream was lovely, didn't go in the aquarium but had a coffee too.
The children really enjoyed looking around, social distancing setup is really good and staff were great
After reading a few not so good reviews, it was a rainy day so we gave it a go. You know what, it's not brilliant. We dragged it out a couple hours. You know what for the kids, it's absolutely brilliant! So much so we popped back in using our all day ticket and staff were so welcoming, friendly and informative!
Fantastic cafe with beautiful views across the harbour. Well worth a visit
Great to see the conservation work. Plenty of talks and huge interactive tanks along with smaller tanks. Who knew we had so many amazing fish in our seas!
