Very good value for money, the staff were very friendly and informative. Loved the fact you could come and go all day.
The place Maryport is very picturesque the aquarium is good and a nice cafe
It was time well spent. Kids loved it. Hands on experience and hunting for fishes on the ckeck list. Ray and shark nursery. Playground and good food at the caffee.
It's only a small aquarium but OK for half a day's visit. The food in the cafe is excellent and staff are friendly. Nice in the summer to sit outside in the sun. And it's next to the sea and where the fishing boats go out so always something to look at.
Lovely place to visit, very helpful staff and every precaution taken to follow covid-19 guidelines
It's enjoyable, the fish and displays are interesting. You might find yourself correcting the spellings in the signs. The cafe is good. The gift shop is excellent!
IV been to much better but is very good at the same time
A great place to spend a rainy morning in Maryport especially if you have ever looked out over the Solway Firth and wondered what lives below the waves. You will be in for some surprises.
Excellent displays, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent cafe facilities with a varied menu for all.
Really nice aquarium that is perfect for a visit with little ones. Nice displays and not as costly as sea life centres. Love the touch pool and the area where you can stroke the rays.
Small well kept good cafe with lots of choice ideal stop with kids on a rainy day. Mind the gift shop though.
We had a lovely afternoon there it has a lot of variety of fish and crustacean, it's a lot bigger than it looks on the outside. Friendly and helpful staff, good value for money and you can go in and out on the same day on your tickets plus the added bonus of a game of mini golf, it also has a small gift shop and cafe.
Brilliant. Our granddaughter aged 6,loved it. Will definitely go back again.
Visited 3rd October 11.30am. The building doesn t look very much from the outside but once inside we were pleasantly surprised. The aquarium was a lot bigger than I envisaged. There was feeding of fish & mini talk at 12. The tanks are clean & aquatic life well looked after. A vast range of fish. Sea, river, cold water & tropical. Loved seeing the breeding programme for the lobsters to be realeased back. Great venue for young & old. We had lunch of soup & toasted sandwich. Very tasty & served quickly. Very friendly staff in cafe & the shop.
The kids loved it and we got shown around but one of the staff which made it even better
My daughter loves coming here staff always friendly and the cafe is great.
Small but good. Cafe food great, playground behind good as well
Really good selection for a small aquarium. Food is excellent. Could spend quite a few hours here.
Good cup of coffee and friendly staff with a good service
I like the fact that this aquarium focuses on sea and river fish that are indigenous to the UK. There's also a nice lab area where you can see fish being bred.
Good but to small over with in 20 mins ... needs expansion not worth the drive for 20 mins
been here for many years, never fails to disappoint. excellent range of native species mixed with all the usual tropical marine friends. FIVE STARS
Had a nice time and crazy golf was in with entrance fee with was great fun
We went on the recommendation from someone my partner works with. It's right on the harbour and you can see the lighthouse of Maryport.
The aquarium itself was OK, fish seemed healthy all Bar on leaving little seahorse.
The signs telling you what fish were inside the tanks were need updating. The have become very old, the signage what was once white is now a horrid yellow and some are hard to read.
There are wet floors as soon as you enter, so be careful with little ones or with those who are unsteady on their feet.
Overall the aquarium was..... OK.
Behind the aquarium there is a wooden play area for the children, looks very appealing, even the child within me wanted to go and play, that's would be a definite hit with the kids after the aquarium visit.
At the aquarium there is a opportunity to pay and play crazy golf. My advice? Don't.
The holes are unnumbered and I have never seen one as run down as this one. It is so rundown I'm sure I could make a better one myself and I don't have much DIY experience. There are gaps in the board of the flooring of each hole making it near impossible to attempt getting a hole.
As we also found out, it's not pushchair or pram friendly around the crazy golf and we wasn't advised this either from the staff. Even though they were lovely and polite.
Small aquarium but lovely to spend an hour or so having a look around. Great selection of aquatic life and the birthing area was interesting to see the young creatures throughout different stages of their growth to adults. Definitely would go again.
Lovely place to take the kids. Staff lovely. Stroking the rays was fab!
I've been here at least 6 times now, and each time I go I find the place more amazing!! I get looked after like royalty every time, and would definitely recommend a visit. The staff are superb, and the food is 100%!! ...yum!!
Amazing place. A lot bigger than you expect from the outside. Would definitely recommend and visit again if back in the area.
Great place to visit , nice cafe and shop friendly staff and in the heart of maryport
Lovely little aquarium, had a great time here and watching the feeding was ace
There are larger aquariums, but we liked it. Especially the rearing and the possibility to touch some sea animals were very nice, for young and old. There is a play corner for children in the aquarium. In the adjoining cafe, children can engage in a painting corner.
An excellent way to spend a few fee hours. And an excellent gift shop and cafe.
Great place for the kids and the adults. Pleasant staff, nice little cafe and gift shop too. My granddaughter loves visiting the fish.
Cracking la'al place for both children and adults. Plenty to see with interesting facts and the opportunity to interact with some of the displays. The ray pool is one of the main attractions where you have the opportunity to gently stroke the rays and watch them being fed at times. There is also a lovely cafe/restaurant that provides refreshments at a reasonable price, small gift shop and if the weather is ok crazy golf outside. All in all I'd go back anytime and kids of all ages would enjoy and benefit from a visit.
Good luck and well done to all staff who work hard to make your visit enjoyable.
Good option for a rainy day, not too far a drive from the central Lake District.
Great and well informed place to visit with my two grandchildren. Thay also welcome children with learning disabilities. Well thought out.
Great aquarium with a lot to see with well presented information
Good afternoon out for the family. I was surprised at how much there was to see and do at the aquarium. The talks were informative and the information around the aquarium was very good. The food in the cafe was good although a little expensive. Well worth a visit.
Entry is overpriced, we took our three year old granddaughter, there is a cafe also over priced gift shop the same. Expensive day out
We will not be making a return visit.
Interesting place to visit good cafe, and outdoor play area
It's a great place for all the family you can even stroke the fish great cafe and play area brilliant
It's a nice aquarium, a bit on the small size; good for a stop over.
Really good value, very very interesting. Managed well with the social distancing. Brilliant jelly fish conservation breeding, loads to see and excellent pricing. Because there was no feeding demonstration they even gave us a free crazy golf voucher ... doesn't get much better..
This is a very good aquarium especially for kids. It is not the biggest but had a good amount of species of fish and they are mainly all locally found in the sea surrounding the aquarium. All in all a good day out
Always a good place to stop for a brew or ice cream.
Parking is easy and reasonable right outside the door. There is a good and varied number of fish including a friendly manta easy who enjoys a good backscratch!
Outdoors there is a good sized play area for the kids to amuse themselves with too. There are a few tables outside to enjoy the menu of the excellent cafe. Another plus for me is that the place is dog friendly as I have 2 Jack Russell's.
All in all a very good place too spend a couple of hours watching the harbour and the world go by.
Excellent displays of mainly local sealife, with breeding & conservation programmes.
Nicely laid out, enjoyable & informative.
Good selection of sealife to learn about with helpful staff at hand. Cafe had really good food with a nice atmosphere. Good carparking, with playpark and crazy golf course. All close to the harbour and the town. Lovely few hours spent here with our gang.
an amazing little aquarium where you can touch the manga rays. a lovely rock pool area and sea feature breeding programme
Small place, but cheap and well thought out. Took about an hour to go around. Tactile displays and many opportunities to get close and personal with the fish!
Great selection of fishing equipment and a brilliant cafe with excellent service all round
Silloth is a really nice place to visit a walk along the sea front looking at the Scottish coast is lovely when the sun is shining
Went for a field trip with some students and had a great time. Even though due to Covid restrictions there are no talks or touching pools. The aquarium is great. Plenty of information plaques and loads to see.
