A good school where you get out what you put in. Many trains stop within walking distance and buses as well. Just like any college, depending on your major, you will find good and bad professors. So always make use of the rate my professor website. I had a very pleasant experience. The administration was more competent than other schools I went to and my issues were always solved within a reasonable amount of time. The facilities I had to use for my major were in even better condition compared to some four year schools. The wifi coverage was good. Plenty of cafeterias with the best one being in the E building. Plenty of food trucks with different types of foods. Lots of seating areas with electrical ports. The class scheduling was workable with enough sections to fit almost everyone. Can't speak for any other major but it felt like that overall. They are always hiring new adjuncts so it's not the same professor teaching that one section you need all the time that everyone says is horrible. Always stay on top of your things if you want to have them resolved quickly. That's the part you play in your college years. The hand holding stops after High School. All I can say is, relax a little and have some fun. At the end of the day grades won't show the strength of your character after all is said and done.

It's not the best school ever. It's true people lack "costumer services" and sometimes they are rude to you. They lack of extracurricular for students there even the pool has not extra for student but for children and i don't think is fair because i could use some swim team. However, i never had found a bad professor there. All of them are highly capacitated to do their jobs and we can trust them.

CUNY's community college, one of the public community colleges LaGurdia Community College. In the CUNY school, correspondence of the entrance procedure was relatively somewhat cheap, and I was saved by some mail exchange. Although it is kind, I will care about anything like a Japanese school, so be careful. I will be relieved if I do not ask questions to the student section from me.
In my case I was studying English for the short term, so I wonder if there were other options as well? I think that if you are going to enter the university in the United States, you will be able to enroll in undergraduate course department without the TOEFL score if you complete until the last level of the language school (Level 10), so consider considering going to university I think whether it is good for someone.

I have studied from LAGCC.Everyone thinks this is not a good college to attend but infact it is the best in community colleges! Most of the teachers are so hands on and are willing to help you out in anyway or form. The atmosphere is diverse! The building is huge and spacious and well maintained. The only bad thing about the college is that the staff is misguided in C107 and when you take any of your problems there they will make you go in circles rather than find an accurate solution and help you out with it.So beware of that! The location of the college is by a busy street and the college is divided in 4 parts! E,M,B and C. Always check your professors on rate my professor before choosing a class.

Get in, get out and take what you can get from the handful of great professors that make this place tolerable. Other than that, the students mostly suck (lazy, no participation, incredibly embarrassing unawareness of how to act in a classroom setting) and the staff is basically the same. With an exception of a handful (I salute you good ones in C-107, thank you for being there when one feels like just giving up on this school), others can be shockingly rude and crude. They care not if you pick up on their nastiness, they just can't wait to get rid of you asap from the office. Almost any inquiry you may have is bothersome to them. Sharing space with high schools and therefor high school kids here makes it challenging as well. I'll leave it up to you to figure out why. I will be graduating soon and if I could go back in time I would probably go elsewhere- for sure.

Extremely disorganized school, Professors give you passing grades even when you don't attend they made these huge mistake and then try to collect from you and then they make it extremely difficult to resolve the issue. You have to go in and scream so they can attend you and see they made a huge mistake and rectify it. Don't go!! here go to The City College a lot better CUNY or Baruch, continued my education here instead.

i find it funny that a lot of the people giving the worst google reviews about LAGCC are the same people who cant spell. "costumer services"..you mean CUSTOMER services? Jesus Christ.

Anyway..i am a recent graduate of Laguardia as of June /2015..I have seen Laguardia grow (when i was a freshman there was only three buildings). The one complaint will give Laguardia that is deserved is the lack of professors who speak english FLUENTLY. I am not a fan of living in an english speaking country and being forced to learn a different language just to learn math or c++. We need a heavy influx of professors who speak the native language as to make it easier for native students to learn. The information from one department to the other also needs to be consistant.

Those are all the negatives i can think of. This school looks to improve it's facilities everyday and have resources that are not taken advantage of enough by students. The teachers and counselors actually do care, but they will NOT be disrespected. The students at LaGuardia are also there to learn. Making friends is cool but a lot of these people are young AND focused, which is refreshing to see. They have a daycare program for students who have children and their nursing program is one of the best in the country. Transportation to the college is a breeze, with the 7 and E trains only two or three blocks away in any direction.

The engineering and computer science curriculum needs an influx of younger talent (which judging from last semester, it looks like they are fixing that) and faster wifi services.

But i loved the school and the patience they show to students.

Im currently in my last year at LaGuardia (majoring in business) and i have to say the Business department is full of AMAZING professors. Classes are really easy (most of them except accounting unless you're good at it) and the students are cool. I, personally, never talked to anyone or made any friends because I'm not an outgoing person.

The school is constantly going under renovations and they just finished the new library and it looks AMAZING, as if it was a library from an ivy league. Food isn't that great but what do you expect, its school food [not free of course].

For people who are curious about the diversity of this school, these are my personal percentages of what i see;
20% - Asian
20% - African American
30% - Hispanic
30% - White/European

Overall, its a good school to just do your 2 years in and get out.

It's a great school but the math department is the WORST. Also the telephone system is a joke. Some professors are super SJW and liberal, but all in all its great. Follow the classes you need on degree works on cuny blackboard!

Amazing teachers! I've never been able to pass my classes with a good score.. Yes, I was doing bad.. I drop of of high school and ended up doing my GED at laguardia and I can say, I learned and REMEMBERED so much! The 1st time I took my test to take the GED there, my math score improved a lot but just enough for me to move up to a higher level math class, instead of taking the exam.. Then 3 months from that I passed to take the GED test.. Which was the 1st time I took it and I honestly couldn't believe I passed! So fast forward 3months and because of this opportunity to get my GED, I got my 1st job and today is my college entrance exam for laguardia! Because of them my dreams to become a veternarian is just that much closer! Thank you laguardia bridge program

I graduated LaGuardia in the Fall of 2018 with a degree in Biology. Most of the science professors are caring and want you to succeed but some can be more challenging than others. The campus is great, they have a really nice updated library, a huge financial aid office compared to other schools, and decent food in the cafeteria as well. I worked in the biology laboratory as a work study student and the staff there were just the nicest people you will ever meet. Overall a great school. Enjoy your time here!

Poor service. To be honest you got to flirt, suck up, or even who knows what in order for them to take notice of you I mean of course one can't be rude but that goes for both sides especially the line of work ethics
Becuase we are consumers so our demands are high and if they can't handle it don't work there in the first place find another job period.

It seems like professors like the one I got Professor Arnold who acts likes she is going through the motions and don't there . i felt I waste my time and money which I paid out of pocket in her class and is thinking about leaving the college. She is one of the worst teachers/professors i ever had . I think cause it a community college a lot of them are mad cause they can't teach in a four year college through out of the community colleges in NY LaGuardia is the best . That being said she is the third professors that I had that sleeps walks through their class and I had another one that did something that weren't cool and I didn't show up for her class and never got an apology from her. I say if you over 30 years like me this college is not for you. I never had problems with anything else in the college but the professors cause I expect more and I also think cause the college got a lot of non white american people that they slack a lot and that's sad.

This is my worts fall semester 2017 in Lagcc, shockingly, problems are not professor but students. Ground folks, acting like high school students . Nasty manner unfit for college students have harrassing , name calling, causing me emotional distress, frustrating me everything time I ask questions in class math 115. Sad for them I don t get intimidated, I question when needed, so I can understand what teacher is doing as long as i understand i feel happy. Too busy with homeworks and work I could not find out how and where to report this situation. Hope this never happens in any class again. I realize, then I am christrian , the world, the anti Christ, the evil middle East ones that dominated into the classroom fill with Satan presence were trying to crush me down . I Have plead the BLOOD OF JESUS against them though they have no idea what is coming for them . What goes around comes around. God Don t bless ugly. No matter what they try , they have NO choice but to loose and I have one choice BUT To win because GREATER IS THE ONE INSIDE OF ME THAN any Satan of hell at LaGuardia community college. Vengeance is mine says the the Lord I will repent. I don t I have to fuss and fight with enemies , JESUS CHRIST always fight all ennemies and not once or never will loose my battle.

As a graduating business student I want to say I've had the most awesome professors. Absolutely no complaints what so ever, LaGuardia does a great job hiring the right professors. As far as building staff goes, unless it was for financial aid help or academic advisement, I've barely needed to contact them. However, I wouldn't recommend you waist your time calling over the phone. It's best to just go online to find office hours and go in to the building to get the answers you need. For the most part you don't need an appointment for anything just go in and wait your turn. Good luck !

This school is so terrible. when you call they always transfer you to voice mails and never give you direct answers. When you go into the school it is always a run around. No one knows what they are talking about. Everyone that works there hates their jobs and takes it out on the students. I've never been treated with respect at that school since the first day i got there. I am currently in the process of transferring to another school because I am so fed up with the unacceptable treatment I have received there. DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOOL. IT IS A JOKE.
