My favorite bakery in Chicagoland! Run by Pierre and Michelle who had a bakery in Alsace France. Their almond croissants are first-rate, beignets are delicious, and lattes well made!

Always a great place to go for fresh wonderful French food, pastries and various drinks/coffees. Be aware that most fellow customers do not follow their COVID rules on the door and window. I blame my fellow customers for their disregard, however the restaurant doesn't exactly crackdown either. I want them and us to be well enough to return. But none the less this is a must go to place.

Food:

Food:
- Ham and cheese croissant - very good mix of flavors, and nice flaky croissant; they put it in the oven to heat it up before serving it
- Chocolate pound cake - really dense and chocolatey

Ambiance:
- a few seat at the front (cute atmosphere), and some in the back.

The woman who helped us was really nice.

La Fournette is a cute bakery with excellent food. My favorite thing is the Macaroons especially the Vanilla and the Raspberry. Their hot foods like the Ham and Cheese Croissant are really good too!

I really really really love their almond croissants. The almond filling is spread in a way that you get some in each bite. And I dont know how they do it but the veggie quiche is just right.

La Fournette is my favorite bakery in Chicago! The croissants are amazing and they offer a great selection of espresso drinks and breakfast foods. The vegetable quiche is my favorite. If you re looking for fresh baked bread or a delicious breakfast, this is a great spot to check out!

Authentic French bakery in the heart of Old Town; great selection of coffees, breads, crepes, pastries, including flaky croissants and great macrons and made-from-scratch breads and chocolate hazelnut spread; friendly service from the French staff; small patio on the sidewalk for outdoor seating

It's a French bakery, i.e., if you can't get there in the morning, go another day! Top quality fresh bread, pastry to die for and the macarons (macaroons are different) are crunch, then melt in your mouth sublime. No wonder this place is popular and well rated! Very much a consumer, not a business partner, I, just love this place

A very cute French bakery! Great service from employees who were really professional! Loved the savory things our group shared and the chocolate croissants were delish! But many of the sweets weren't up to the same level. The macarons, and this reeeeally pains me to say, were just average compared to macarons offered by other shops in the city. Will definitely stop by in the future whenever I'm in the area!

Fantastic food, service and ambiance! On a cold afternoon in Old Town stumbled in for a late lunch. After much deliberation (and patience from behind the counter) I ordered the savory crepe of the day. The crepe was perfect - hot crepe filled with egg, cheese, onion, tomato, bacon and ham!! Would definitely come back to try a sweet crepe next time. In case you like to know more about your coffee, I learned that they brew Intelligentsia coffee.

La Fournette is simply quality. Amazing croissants, great specialty bread, and a lot of other treats that I have not yet had a chance to sample but I cannot wait togo back for. The macaroons looked especially enticing, so that s something to look forward to on my next visit.

Great breakfast spot. I love their Quiche Lorraine, beignets, and croissants. The staff are all very kind and the interior space is nice. The format is counter serve and there is not a lot of seating, but I ve never had an issue finding a spot as most people are taking things to go. Highly recommend for a quick breakfast in old town.

I like French so i needed to try this cafe. The croissants are perfect. The beignets are excellent. The service unfortunately is not as good. The guy server behind the counter that day seem very impatient (with folded arms and not smiling at all).

This local bakery is a dream come true! A wide variety, efficient service, fresh smells and eats, authentic goods, all for a great price! I ve tried cafes all around this area but the pastries are the best in value at La Fournette. Not only are the pastries and breads delicious, but the history here alone is worth visiting. Due to COVID-19, all safety precautions have been taken. There are also a lot of baked goods for larger parties and specialty items that can be ordered ahead of time; everything looks delicious! I haven t tried the coffee and drinks yet, but I plan to take a bite of everything on the menu by summer Highly recommend their quiche and apricot pastry!

Stopped by there today to try their macarons in a variety of flavors. Ordered a half dozen, and 5 out of 6 were good or great, their chocolate one was particularly good. However, one macaron, the mango one, was totally overcooked, and was crunchy the whole way through, having the consistency of a nilla wafer, which is all wrong for a macaron.

We buy your baguette every day at nearby Mariano's. It tastes very much like what we enjoyed having in France. However, the texture is very uneven with holes ranging in 3/4 inch in diameter in the middle of the bread. Is there any solution to have more even texture?

What's not love about a French bakery. The latte was excellent. I'm a little picky about my croissants and these ones were good. Did not need to be heated to appreciate, but nowhere near perfection. Good service, nice atmosphere for eating in and a real bakery with an excellent selection of over the counter products.

This place is dangerous...dangerously delicious. Everything from the baguettes to the brioche are divine. The croissants are flaky and buttery. The quiche is filling. The nicoise is a perfect light lunch. I always feel like I am in France the minute I walk in the door. Friendly staff. Great service. Love this place.

Amazing bakery, everything I tried was delicious. I had one of the savory crepes, the almond croissants (my favorite), quiche and bread. I don t think it s possible to choose something bad on their menu. I suggest trying as much as possible. Next time I can t wait to get some macaroons.
