Best gym ever you need to go there and experience a good workout from top-notch trainers and an overall great atmosphere with people of the same mind in like love going to La Cienega Club LA Fitness also got the best knowledgeable managers I've ever talked to in cells and I've been in the gym scene for over 40 years
Huge parking lot, unlimited time.
Plenty of pieces of equipment. I have learned to be adjustable at any gym now a days. If something is in use I go use something else. Of course it will be dirty. The only gym I just a member at, when I had more free time, that was always clean was sport club La (now Equinox).
Warning do not join the club...very bad customer service.. Ive been attempting to Close my account and is very difficult... Ive gone so far as to cancel my debit card and they still found a way to charge.. They always give me the run around... They are great at helping you get a membership but when you try and cancel its super difficult
...i tried in person only to be missled and given the run around.... The gym is always dirty machines berly work... Becareful not .......and i repeat not give them your cheaking account or debit card info....ive spent numerous hours trying to cancel my membership...this is absolutely unacceptable.... I would look somewhere else for a gym membership....unless you want a huge headache....
Personal Training director here is horrible. If you enroll in personal training and want to make any changes/cancellation its impossible to meet her. To make any changes you need to come in person and she is super busy, she wont answer phone calls, she wont call u back even though front desk staff takes ur note to call back. You need to schedule an appointment in advance in the middle of a business day to meet her
and She wont come on week ends. Staff here is poorly trained, if you ask any question which they are not sure, they simply passes some wrong information/will tell that manager will call back and take ur number. But no one will really call u. This place has serious management issues.
I paid for one year but due to the fact the gym is extremely dirty I didn t continue to go there. I have noticed when people use their machines they sweet and
No one cleans them and it can cause the contamination of hepatitis.
The shower rooms and the locker is contaminated with fungus since it is not clean regularly.
The lockers are full of dirt..If you go in the afternoon you have to wait 20 minutes for using each machine.
I actually remember this as a Montgomery Ward! This LA fitness is a bit weird--the swimming pool is downstairs (so you'll have to go up and down stairs just to go to the pool) and everything else is upstairs. there's 2 basketball courts but they're very short, and the ceilings aren't high so if you shoot from further than 20 feet, and have any sort of arc, you hit the ceiling.
Parking is plentiful in the structure or in the lot.
This is probably one of the worst gyms I have ever been to in my life. AC is always broken. Go to a different location.
I'm rating this gym based on the cost and value for that cost. After going to 24 Hour Fitness for two years, I was pleasantly surprised about the quality this gym. My complaint about 24 Hour is 1) No wifi (& barely any reception) & 2) No AC & terrible ventilation. LA Fitness does have functioning AC and wifi. They have free, easy parking (whereas at 24 Hour you have to pay), and they have a lot of places to stretch & lots of cardio machines. I've been able to find the weights I need and the equipment I have wanted to use has been functional. Of course for me location is huge as the gym is walking distance from my home/work. I don't shower at this gym or use the lockers so can't comment on those things. I mostly use the cardio machines, free weights and stretching space. I have had no problems with the staff. I have noticed that people leave paper towels wadded up in the cup holders of the cardio machines and these don't get cleaned up. That means I have to touch their sweaty used paper towels which is gross. So, number one, they could have someone wiping those down more often; number two, I can't believe how inconsiderate and disgusting people can be; and number three, putting up signs asking people to throw away their "debris" might help. But overall the gym has what I need, has a far more spacious feel than the cramped, underground 24 Hour Fitness on Pico/Roxbury, has a pool, basketball courts and multiple classes. My friends like the spin classes there. The hours are great (they are even open till 2 on thanksgiving). For $30 a month I think it's a great deal & that you can get more if you pay more.
Lots of machines. Has swimming pool, basketball court, child daycare, etc. Only problem is with people sitting on machines and resting.. go rest somewhere else!!
The machines are breaking down quite often and it can be a little messy sometimes. Of course, it would help if people were a little cleaner or at least able to dispose of their own garbage
Paid for premium program 6 months. After 4 months I got sick and took me to recover 5 weeks. I missed 22 sessions of the program, some sessions missed the first 4 months. Contract ended and they still continued charging me my CC. I called to cancel and was said I have to do it at the gym office staff. I went and they say will file and headquarters office will do it.
Never hear, and still many attempts to charge my CC. I had to cal my CC bank to freeze my CC.
After 2 weeks I got the call, they say I have to pay same amount to keep my sessions roll over for 22 total. I said no. I want to Cancel. They canceled and I loose all sessions for a Value total $900. I couldn t book my sessions pending from the APP.
When I signed the contract I was told if I miss a session, the session are roll over at the end. But never tell you, you have to pay same amount to keep going after contract end. Always you will loose money.
Also they make copy of your ID or your lisence. They take a photo of you. There is no way to fight and get the refund. Forget your money.
Be careful when pay. They love CC or DC. Easy for them to charge automatically.
Much better if you pay cash. Easy to cancel and you will not loose when you want to cancel. Since is a prepaid program always you loose money when canceling the program. I will never pay more training programs here.
Easy way to steal money from customers.
By far the worst LA fitness in LA. Machines are old and battered. No one puts weights away.
Not enough free weights. Crowded. Excessively hot in the summer. Not especially clean either. But it's an adequate place to work out.
A very big gym, and a lot of machines.
The only 2 problems is the parking and the human traffic at the place
This LA Fitness is located on the west side of LA so pretty close to my house. The only bad thing regarding this location would be morning and evening commute traffic, it can be herendous ! The facility is always clean, very spacious with an array of fitness equipment. Front desk attendant is usually pretty friendly and helpful.
Really dirty place, in the evening you'll actually see scum floating in the jacuzzi, instead of cleaning they choke the dirt with tons of chlorine
Very dirty, way too crowded. Machines and weights are not well maintained at all.
One of the better LA Fitness locations in Los Angeles. Can get very packed, but they have parking and a variety of equipment. It smells pretty bad however and the air conditioning doesn't always seem to work. This gym is only one floor and has limited space for working out on the floor without equipment. However, it has two basketball courts and a pool.
I was surprised that LA Fitness has some much equipment and so you mad love in there.
Not the most elegant gym, but there are many decent classes here
Little dirty at times but what gym isn't. Right in front of the locker rooms is a sore spot but just kinda old. pretty good overall. Staff is really nice! Bball courts are always lively.
This gym is alright. Machines are great (they just put in some brand new ones) and the staff are friendly and helpful. That said, they could really do well to have the locker rooms cleaned on a more regular basis. Consistently I walk in at different times and the floor is very dirty.
The culture in this gym needs some work. It attracts meatheads of both genders who seem to think grunting loudly and slamming weights helps with their gains. Also, it seems like no one has enough respect for their gym to put any weights back where they belong. Weights are at any given time all over the entire gym floor, or put back in all the wrong spots. Wanna put your 50s back in the 50s spot? Gonna have to move the 25s out of the 75, and 50s out of the 25, and the 100s out of the 75, and the 35s out of the 50, etc, etc.
The culture at this gym lacks consideration for fellow gym members in that regard as well as machine use. I've had to talk my way back in to my clearly marked machine after coming back from a different part of my circuit. It's one thing to wait and then ask to work in, which I'm totally willing to cooperate. It's another to just take the machine and then argue with me that I wasn't using it and make me explain the concept of a circuit, marking my machine with water bottle and towel, and working in.
These aren't necessarily the gym's fault or responsibility, but they could definitely aid in the process beyond just putting up a small sign that says "please rerack your weights" in a small text. There's also people that talk on their phones in the sauna or listen to their music in the sauna without headphones, but what can you do beyond telling them to knock it off?
Again, the gym itself is great, but an establishment is also judged by the atmosphere and culture it has, and the people it attracts.
This location has everything on one floor except swimming pool, jacuzzi which are located in the lower floor. Juice bar basket ball courts and cycling are also available.
As of October 2017 they renovated with new floors and updated many machines and weights. Better then some of the old LA Fitness around that really need an update.
However this place does get very busy during peak times.
Jaime is a great personal trainer with plenty of experience
Nice location with free parking. They have basketball courts indoors, spinning and a studio for group fitness classes including yoga, Zumba, boot camp and others. There's also a juice bar that sells merchandise. Locker rooms are standard for LA Fitness. And the indoor pool is not usually crowded. The group fitness instructors are not all equal. Check out the instructors until you find one you like.
There are some weights missing and the basketball courts have low ceilings.
Very large clean gym. Would be nice if they had windows.
So I guess not all gyms are created equal. Yet I think my harbor city L.A. fitness has me spoiled with the cleanliness and the staff is great along with the manager.
Went for a free week guest pass. Staff kind and helpful. Really well equipped (said as a bikini bodybuilder) with great pool etc too
Will still charge your card after you cancel the membership and customer service is nonexistent. Stay away.
Area is a little shady but it's always a good place to work out.
Male staff should be trained on how to talk to women to suggest one-on-one training. Not only was I told that "I needed to stay in the gym" while I was in the middle of a workout. I was also belittled for how I looked and my choice to save money. Reverse psychology didn't work, it ran me off. Take your money to 24 hour fitness.
The staff are informative, the members are respectful & the machine are great. Classes are hardcore.
Great staff members, a little expensive for a shower but great facilities
No customer support. Charging my credit card during the covid crisis. Who in their right mind would go to a gym right now? Of course it's impossible to cancel your membership remotely. It seems all gyms are scummy operations.
Lots of people even in the early morning. Free weights are found all over the gym because hardly anyone re-racks them. It's recently been remodeled with new floors. The showers are great in comparison to other locations.
This place doesn't handle rain well, leaking everywhere. Dumbbells are seriously lacking, one of the worst LA fitnesses I've been to in that regard. Otherwise, it gets the job done.
Good gym but they dont have enough 15 - 25 lb dumbbells for training.
Great exercise equipment, clean, with many different locations, so no matter where you are, you can find one close to you.
The Hot Tub was hot Today but I love it loss some pound off.
I have a few issues with this gym. For one you can never find the proper dumbbells; they're always out of place or simply no where to be found. Next the basketball courts are extremely small in all dimensions. The sidelines are walls (which are not even completely flat), the baseline is a wall immediately behind the basket (begging for injuries), and the ceiling is too low to shoot a decent jumpshot. Finally, in order to use attachments on certain cable machines, you have to rent them out with something of value. What??!!
One of my favorite LA Fitness is it has basketball and there's always good basketball going on. Also they have a pool and sauna although the pool is always full I think. But the sauna and hot tub arnaiz. Also parking is great tons of parking for as long as you want. They even have two basketball courts
Equipment is a bit old and worn down, and the basketball courts have very low ceilings on account of this facility bring an old Montgomery ward. Nothing out of the ordinary good or bad, so 3 stars it is.
Location is convenient. Overall good. I would work a little bit on renovation. Pool is very smelly.. I use to swim and don't want anymore. Chlorine smell is super strong. And you can smell chlorine only if it has something to react with..
Air conditioning broken since April. Unhealthy environment to work out.
Good atmosphere, everyone is
So helpful and encouraging.
A lot of machine weights. A
Great area for free weights.
Very clean! The lockers and
Bathroom are clean at all
Times I've attended.
Great gym. Plenty of equipment and good facilities. Sauna, hot tub, pool, basketball courts, and classes.
Pool is always clean but the women's lockerroom and toilet stalls aren't clean.
A bunch of morons. They can t even answer the phone correctly. Hung up on me 3 times before I could even ask them a question.
terrible customer service. brushed me off because i didn t wanna sign up. would not recommend this gym to anyone. tried to offer me a $15 guest pass. i don t even know what the gym is like why would i pay for a guest pass?
BURNELL MILAN is the worst manager. they just want your money
A ton of equipment, lots of plated weight machines. Locker room cleanliness could be better. Very busy club. I always enjoy working out here.
This place is awsome.!!!
They have a pool!! Jacuzzi!! And a sauna!!!
I love this place...
They also have 7 heavy bags for boxing training.
Its a little small but has great parking..
Honeslty well keeped gym..
Love to work out here!!!!!!
Not the best LA fitness but I go there to workout. Everyone around is nice. Calm atmosphere. I love it. There's always parking. No problem with me.
Decent place for a good workout. lA fitness is a good place to get a full workout and maybe a sauna to sweat it out!!
This place has really stepped up their game. It was always a big, spacious, low-key and welcoming facility, but now that they've redone the gym interior and floor, they also CLEAN the workout area a lot more often, which makes it a real pleasure to visit. Front desk staff is generally excellent. Four stars instead of five because, okay, the showers and locker room are okay but not great. But for a workout, this is, within the last year, a much more pleasant facility. Thanks for fixing it up!!
AWFUL! It feels like you're working out in a sauna. First month when I started, the AC was not working for a few days and it was hell. During the summer it's impossible to do cardio in this gym as you're gonna be dripping with sweat in the first couple minutes on the treadmill. There's no sliding door or anything to close the entrance space, it's wide open, so the AC can't cool the gym enough. Most of the equipments are old. People are really disrespectful with the equipments. There's chewed gum all over the treadmill cup holders, dumbbells are all over the place and most likely won't be available when you need it. Very crowded on Mon-Fri between 6:30-8PM. Some nights it's really hard to find an available treadmill at this time. The staff was always polite to me, that's the only good thing about this gym.
I give 2 stars. This has brand new equipments and clean. HOWEVER, you can never find your weights when you want to use them. Doesn't matter what time of day you go, i've gone EARLY when they just opened, the weights are only 35% racked the other 65% you have to walk all around the gym just to look for them. It gets super packed too! Management need to really step it up with organizing weights and racking them if the members aren't doing it.
Good: kids program and hours
Bad: you will never find the dumbells because they are all over the place.
The toilets are dirty most of the times.
Probably the best choice in the area due to it's size. Works perfectly with my schedule and commute. It doesn't have super great amenities, but it's kept fairly clean and it gets the job done.
Worst customer service. They opened the gyms during this Pandemic times and also charged my Credit card. The billing customer service number doesn t respond. So LA fitness is making money this way!
Great gym with a lot of parking but they don't have a stretch cage or ballet bar, it's hard to get a deep stretch with just mats on the ground. There is a pool, hot tub, basketball, spin and aerobics room, inside is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside
I adore him, I am many years old with my membership and I am always happy to go, whether it is much or little, it is worth paying because they make me feel happy and in every
Terrible gym, LA Fitness is one of the worst gym companies!
1. They don t have enough weights and the equipment is not high quality.
2. The gym is dirty and the locker room stinks. 3. The gym is always packed and no equipment is available.
4. THEY ARE SCAMMERS. Have extreme caution when you sign up, they told me to my face I was not signing up with a contract and that there was NO cancellation fee, but guess what? When I went to go cancel cause I didn t enjoy the gym they said I was stuck into a three year contract with a cancellation fee! And even if I canceled my membership I owed them the membership fees until my contract ends. They just skip over the contract, smile in your face and make you sign while lying about what your signing. They don t even show you the contract, this is my mistake for not asking to see the full contract and read it fully but they did lie to my face and didn t even offer to show me the full contract.
Please do not go to this gym!! To get out of my contract and cancel my membership I had to cancel my credit card! They will cold call you and lie to you. Many other people have had the same experience as me!
There are SO many other amazing gyms in LA, stay far away from this one and all LA fitnesses!
Garbage gym, always packed, always missing half the dumbbells, the cable machines have a bunch of useless attachments, they ve only had one handle attachment for the past couple months, and the gym is always grimy and just overall is not a gym you want to go to.
They care about keeping people safe from COVID 19. Policies: social distancing on all equipment, social distancing in the locker rooms, mask and temp check at check-in, closed water fountains, continuous employees disinfecting equipment and most importantly Enforcement of wearing mask on weight area. Thank you all. Truly care about the customers.
They don't pay attention to your complain about loud very loud music in the lockers. And people take pictures if themselves without considerations to the person next to you
Not enough free weights, and the area for it is small. Not enough squat racks for how busy it is, even for nonpeak times. However, the selection of machines for resistance training and cardio is substantial.
