What an awesome experience we had for my Aunt's birthday!! Grounds are breath taking, food was top notch with flavors that blow you out of the water. Attention to details from our server was awesome, including a hand written plate saying "Happy Birthday Ann" in chocolate!!! Thank you Meg for making our experience enjoyable and memorable, this is our new tradition for years to come.

Went for brunch with a group of friends we knew it was expensive and we were excited for the experience and delicious food. The waiter was condescending to us making jokes that we wouldn t get expensive things on the menu I suppose because we were young married couples. The food was good. I got the French toast. We ordered dessert and the waiter made a joke that he bet no one would get dessert cause we were cheap or something but I expect excellent service wether your 12 or 60 yrs old and I didn t receive that and we all dropped $100 a meal for brunch. Probably won t be back

Disaster!! My boyfriend and I went for a celebration dinner. The entrance of the restaurant and the ambiance itself made us wow at first and we were excited to have such a great start of the night. We sat down and ordered drinks. Then, here it comes. ID check, welcome to Utah!! We have visited Utah so many times and the question is expected (btw we both are 30ish). So, my bf had a little hole (punctured by ski pole) in his ID -but valid, he goes through TSA with it and even purchases alcohol from the UT State Liquor stores with no problem. He also carries a spare ID which is NOT expired but has his old address. The staff made a big deal of it and when trying to scan the ID their scanner wasn t charged. Bottom line I got a glass of wine and he was offered an cream soda!!! I understand being wary of sting operations but how many under age individuals go to a very fancy restaurant, pay like over $200 for dinner for two and try to be sneaky about getting a glass of wine?? This shouldn t be how things work! This is either extreme poor management or lack of knowledge on the employee end which still relates to management issues. Even though the food was good (nothing mind blowing as compared to prices), we had a very unpleasant experience. And btw, we were preached about Utah laws!? What laws? You were shown a valid ID which proves he is 31 years old (as far as I know, this is more than legal drinking age in Utah as well). And you made ridiculous excuses that made us extremely uncomfortable and regretful to even stepped!

Sooooo......let's skip over the fact that if you buy the bottle of Veuve Cliquot that you need to have with a fine French meal like this, you're running into the 400+ range. It is SO worth it. The most beautiful and romantic piece of land in the valley. Food is divine. World class. Just go.

It was my first time and I joined it for brunch. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. I think the atmosphere and service just makes everything so much better. I were sitting by fireplace, which I loved it till it got super hot, especially after drinking my hot coffee. It s definitely a place when you want to take a picture of everything! I m pretty sure I will be back soon. Great job!

Have brought the family here for few special occasions. There is nothing else like it in Salt Lake. An amazing menu and incredible service. The whole ambience is wonderful.

Eating here was one of the best dinner experiences I have ever had. The waiter was very helpful and did an excellent job explaining the menu and dishes to us. We especially liked that all their produce is grown on site, and the grounds are very well kept which added to the overall experience. The food was extremely good and the presentation was well done too. I had the rack of lamb which ended up having a fair amount of fat in the center. It seemed to be about half meat and half fat, so that was a little disappointing. Their filet mignon with foyot sauce was delectable though. I will absolutely be returning here.

This establishment has one of the best atmospheres I've yet to experience. While it is an absolute joy to walk the grounds here and makes for an enjoyable date night, Covid may have taken away the level of food that I've grown accustomed to from this restaurant. I do hope it returns to its former glory after things get moving again.

The food was decent, but not worth the price. The most frustrating part was the service. They were pretty condescending. We had a big group and after eating many were questioning getting a dessert or not and the waiter said he had a running bet with the other employees that we wouldn't buy any dessert. There were comments like that throughout the experience that we're said making it seem like we weren't the type of people that should be eating there. It was super unprofessional, and if I'm paying 100$ for brunch I don't want to be treated that way.
As a side note we did end up getting dessert, and was not impressed.

Very dissatisfied. Nice atmosphere, but only mediocre food, exhorbitant price for family style Thanksgiving meal, our dining room odor so obnoxious we asked them to open the door to air it out, which they eventually did. Won't return.

Want to know what a five star experience feels and looks like, go to La Caille. Arrive via the long winding brick driveway to have your car parked and later retrieved by the valet. Our valet literally ran to retrieve our car and was very quick. Wander the trails of the park like atmosphere full of ponds, streams, fountains, peacocks, swans, and even an outdoor fireplace. Explore the interior of the one of kind French Chalet style buildings and greenhouse. Truly an awesome place.
What makes them even more deserving of five stars is how they handle mistakes. One of our waiters made a mistake spilling food on one of our guests. You never know how these things will go, but La Caille made every effort possible to make the situation right.
Thank you La Caille for making an important evening fun, exciting, and memorable!

La Caille isn't just a restaurant, it's an experience. A most excellent experience. The staff was amazing and so was the food. If you're in the mood for escargot, lobster bisque, and filet mignon, then check out La Caille. While this is one of the most expensive restaurants around, it is definitely worth the price you pay.

Beautiful location and amazing atmosphere. Attended a wedding right outside the vineyard and it was spectacular. Ate inside a green house type thing (don't worry they have fans inside so feels great) and it's beautiful inside. When it got dark the candles hanging from the ceiling really made it feel magical.
Food portions are on the small side and I'm not a big eater, but that's to he expected at fancy places. The meal was expertly prepared and presented. Somebody else paid which made all taste even better. Google image this place, it doesn't disappoint

The whole La Caille experience was nothing but magical. Service was fantastic. The complimentary croissant was delicious! The food was true to its French cottage style. After we ate, we spent an hour in the beautiful garden. Our daughter was like in heaven as a peacock came right next to her and fanned off its beautiful feathers. At the end we even got a bottle red wine. We had it with our dinner that night and it was not bad. It's definitely a place we will return for special moments.

Beautiful, fancy place perfect for special occasions! You can expect to spend at least $50 per plate, not including tips for the waiter, parking valet, and coat check. The food is delicious and gorgeous. The grounds are beautiful. We spent a romantic anniversary evening here.
Where to start?
Where to start?
It took an unusually long time to receive the menu after we were seated. We should have known from then that it was a sign how the night would go.
We placed our drink orders and were told the server would be right with us. Another 10 minutes went by. We were then told that the beer that one of our guests had ordered was unavailable, yet it was on the menu still. He ordered a second choice. That, too, was unavailable.
We finally placed our food order. And 100 minutes later we still didn't have our food. Yes, that really says 100 minutes. Between the time we had been seated and finally said something, we had been there for exactly two hours.
I asked to pay for what we ate and to skip the rest. It was time for us to leave.
They apologized and offered to pay for everything on the house (except alcohol). Great, we'll accept that kind offer. Then we received the alcohol bill. It had everything on it still.
They gave us our food to go (another 15 minutes later) and as we were leaving they did give us a gift certificate "to try us again" but that didn't even cover half of what they offered to cover.
We arrived home and went to eat our to-go food. Our medium-well steaks were more like medium-rare and were largely worthless, un-edible fat.
For this type of money, something like Glitretind at Stein Eriksen is way nicer, better selection, better service, and even more affordable.
Unfortunately, this is the second "try us again" trip we've had at La Caille and it gets worse each visit.
I'll give it a two instead of a one based on a nice location and the staff was nice when they came around.

Beautifully decorated and well kept place. The staff was very kind and attentive. The food was incredible and each course felt like a suprise. The property is magical and a truly hidden garden. My only annoyance is that the manager would not stop selling the place and telling me to bring my "girlfriends" during our meal and it was so uncomfortable. I just want to eat my food in peace instead of being sold on future dinners. All in all it was fun to watch the snobby miserable regulars that don't have anything to talk about with each other and see the couples that actually enjoyed each other's company. Good food and fascinating social experiment.

My husband took me to La Caille for our one year wedding anniversary.
The staff were wonderful they spoiled us rotten, laughing and joking with us the entire night! The manager, the wait staff, the valet, everyone treated us like royalty.
I'd like to particularly compliment Meg, she was the sweetest and kindest server.
The food was to die for! I had the duck and my husband had the rack of lamb, we also had the lobster bisque. It was decadent and delicious, a perfect compliment to the scenery.
There were peacocks running around our table outside! I was tickled and giddy with delight seeing their beautiful plumes.
Who knew places like this existed. Definitely amazing and super romantic. We celebrated love life and laughter. I'm glad we went and we had the opportunity to experience this wonderful place.

It is romantic and very fancy.
Dress accordingly or you will stuck out like a sore thumb haha
The grounds are really amazing. They have roaming peacocks, rabbits, swan, geese and I'm sure more!
This is a great venue for an event or just a fancy dinner.
They decorate in the winter so we often drive around that time of year to see the lights.

What to say about La caille. Over the years the people visiting here have changed. It used to be a suit and tie kind of place. Prom dresses and formal attire. That was years ago. It is still special to me. My wife and I went here for her birthday. On a friday night we were overdressed. I was in suit and tie and my wife was in a casual evening dress. I dont know if this is a negative but it is much more casual every year.
For starters we had the Charcuterie Board. It was on point. Lots of flavors, everything complimenting the next. The meat and cheese tray refined, and expertly presented, but so much more then I expected. I loved the honey after a cheese and assorted crostini. I missed the Foie Gras for a moment, but it passed. We had the mixed tasting of wine, but that is a whole different review into it self. But they were all excellent. The lobster bisque was to die for. I had the lamb and it was served to the rare side. It was excellent. The little presentations of side dishes in between courses were still special and welcome.
For dessert I had the chocolate souffle with a glass of wine recommended by our server. It was all special. The service and food is all 5 star to my taste buds. The grounds are still immaculate, romantic, and dreamlike. Not as special as it used to be, but still romantic and special.

Visited La Caille with my family for Sunday brunch. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal and service. The atmosphere was relaxing and complimented by their beautiful gardens and curious peacocks. We explored the gardens after breakfast and took lots of family pictures. Kids are already asking when we can return!

Having done wedding events here, I pushed to be a guest. While I realize it's often reserved for special occasions, it was now or never.
We just came from climbing, and a true mark of great hospitality is how well a restaurant treats its patrons. In scrub clothes, covered in chalk, they seated us and waited upon us without discernable judgement. Impressed by service, we considered the $14,999.99 bottle of wine, flown directly from France the moment we order. My mate settled on the escargot experience this round.

Really charming and almost fairy-tale like atmosphere. Great place to have a memorable experience. The food is really expensive (we spent $300 for two people) and they want you to order a full meal, so this isn't a place you can order just appetizers and drinks. It's very romantic so it's perfect for special occasions but my wife and I went for fun so we could check it out. The food can be slow however, we waited over 30 minutes for our dessert for example. But if you come into the restaurant with the mindset to relax and enjoy yourself then it shouldn't be a problem. Would definitely go again.

I have only come to La Caille for their Saturday/Sunday brunch because their dinner is really pricey for my budget and the brunch menu is cheaper and just as delicious. Every time we come, we leave very impressed and their brunch menu is AMAZING and the sticky buns you get with the meal alone are worth it. The experience you get here is unlike any other restaurant in Utah. We always come here to celebrate our anniversary because you feel like you're in europe! The atmosphere alone is worth the brunch, as well as the walk on the grounds after. Pure magic!

The new chef has done a fabulous job redesigning La Caille's menu. Absolutely phenomenal! If you haven't been to La Caille in a while, it is absolutely worth going- and not just for the ambiance. The food has been taken to another level and reminds me of a high-end restaurant that you are most likely to find in Manhattan or Chicago. Excellent!

The portions are extremely generous and plentiful -- we ordered 4 dishes for 5 people and had a lot of leftovers. Owners seem very kind. Happy to support this business. They are set up for takeout only and have a plexiglass partition to social distance. We felt very safe and the food was delicious. It hit the spot. And now we have leftovers for tomorrow

This place has to be the most beautiful place to dine in the entire Salt Lake Valley, when the weather allows seating outside. I went here on a business dinner, and the entire party thought it was magical. There were wandering peacocks (they don't bother the diners), and the grounds were great to walk around after the meal. And the meal...was excellent. The filet was right up there with any that I have ever had in my life.
Oh, and fun fact, this location made an appearance in "Dumb and Dumber"!

I would NOT recommend this place. Valentine s date ruined. It took from 6-10 pm to eat there. The food, for the most part, was downright awful. The $75 dry aged special ribeye was so tough, dry, and strange that for the first time in my life I sent it back to the kitchen and didn t want anything else. My wife s $68 steak, while good, was supposed to be medium rare and the center of it was bleu rare. The soups and salads were bad besides the lobster bisque. The butter was salty. The bill was $200.
That being said, the atmosphere was nice, the staff was nice, and they were considerate of allergies so they get two stars. Don t go here.
