Outstanding food. Amazing duck. Everything cooked and tasted excellent except the asparagus which was a surprising $18. The service was comically bad for fine dining. Very uncoordinated: delivered food not all together, food and drinks not to the right person, served the intermezzo with the main. Didn't know anything about the wine: no sommelier, bartender knew very little and recommended wine they didn't have. Beware of overpriced market price vegetables. Very nice sized portions. $25 corking fee very reasonable, should bring your own wine.

Wait staff was attentive and prompt. The field greens salad was a bit more bitter than normal but the French onion soup was caramelized perfectly. Lobster was huge and amazing! Preparation of it allowed for effortless dining. Fillet Mignon was cooked to perfection and had a faint glaze with just a hint of salty and sweet. The entire experience for me and my wife cost $270 including a generous tip to wait staff and valet. The grounds are beautiful and I recommend allowing time for taking in the vast gardens, ponds and quaint architecture. Photo opps galore.

I took my wife here on our first year anniversary. What an amazing place. It has its own brick road entrance, beautiful properties . Tasty courses, wine and deserts. Will be back again:-)

Nice expensive event place.

Nice expensive event place.
I went here for company Christmas event. Nice atmosphere, beautiful plants and flowers, car parking service. Food was decent.
I will probably not come here on my own, but it will be a nice venue for wedding and stuff I assume.

I know people might be disappointed about this review but it is my honest opinion and I'm just trying to help without disrespecting anybody's opinion, so here we go.

I think this place is overrated so read below:

-This place is beautiful in the summer, yes it has a nice landscape and outside architecture.
-Main building is very nice but it is time for remodeling. Floors, walls and furniture.
-Prices are high and that is just based on a good rep. built over the years.
-Food presentation and taste is very average based on 4 star restaurant I think.
-Restrooms are way too small for the number of occupancy per floor level. (Based on building code see IBC Book).
-I think the smell during the winter (snow times) can come from wet rugs from people coming in and/or from the old furniture.

Areas in the building during the summer are the same. Again old furniture and old rugs.

Anyway, no disrespect to people who love this place but I think it is overrated and way overpriced.

Try it just to have the experience and you decide.

Thanks

I've been to La Caille a couple of times, most recently about a month ago. This last time was pretty good. The food is quite good. We really enjoyed the meals we had. My wife loved the Seafood Fumee. Our desert was quite small and unimpressive. The grounds are very beautiful and it's really enjoyable to sit outside and just enjoy the evening. Taking a walk around the grounds is also very enjoyable. We happened to be there on a night that they had a wedding scheduled and it was actually quite disruptive and hard to really relax and enjoy your meal. The wedding guests were quite loud and were frequently walking right past our table. Had I known there was going to be a wedding with 200 guests walking through, I would have not come and got reservations for another night or for another restaurant. I wish La Caille would have at least disclosed the wedding to me when I made the reservations so I could have decided if I wanted to brave the dinner with 200 guests or not.

Likely the highest-end restaurant in Utah. The food was incredible, only outshined by the high-quality service. Our server added a special touch with a description of each course and parting complimentary wine glasses.

My Husband and I Celebrated Valentine's Day early with an Incredible dinner at La Caille.
When I think of fine dining and phenomenal food, nothing comes close to the dishes at La Caille. From our amuse bouche to our spectacular dessert, it was truly a party for our palates. We sat in a Alpenglobe with a spectacular view of the mountains. Kade was a our server. He was very attentive while also giving us proper time to enjoy our courses.

Just went for dessert, wine, and the surrounding gardens. Every bit if 5 stars. Cant speak for their food outside of their desserts, because we didn't try any. The building is beautiful. The staff is first class.

My husband and I eat here often and love it. We also just held our wedding here. It was amazing!!! What a beautiful venue!

However the people are what makes this such an extra special place. From the management, our wedding planner, chefs and servers our experience was completely 5 Star! Thank you La Caille for helping us create such an amazing evening!!!

So I wrote a review on OpenTable and Yelp. I had checked in 10 minutes prior to my reservation. But they didn't seat us until 50 minutes past our reservation time. The food wasn't very good - the only good part was the dry-aged bacon. I had 3 other people with me.

La Caille management reached out to me sincerely apologizing for this experience and we are working to resolve my group's unpleasant experience. At first, I thought we waited 30 minutes - but they told me it was 50 minute past and how horrible they felt. I sincerely appreciate this effort. But will update accordingly.

Took my son to dinner here this evening. I have been five times to this restaurant and never once had a bad experience. However tonight bringing my son here for his first visit was not a very good experience. The ambience was wonderful as it always is the wait staff was good. The food let s just say the food really sucked tonight We had the ribeye steak being $195 for that steak plate we were sure it was going to melt in our mouth and it would be the best tasting steak we had ever had. It was not it was cooked the way it was supposed to be cooked medium and it could not even be chewed it was like chewing on a piece of hard gum that I even had to spit it out and put it on my plate. The only good part of the meal was my lobster bisque and my glass of wine. When it came to desert my son was afraid to try anything so the waitress said she would bring him Oreo ice cream. That even went wrong there was a big hair on the bowl of ice cream. So so sad that my date night with my son turned out not as great as I thought it would. Will I return to your restaurant probably never again. As far as I m concerned I paid $307 for a wonderful bowl of lobster bisque and a glass of wine. So so so over Priced the prices definitely don t match the food. Anyone with a great food palette should never go here.I actually had a $50 steak at the Bellagio in Vegas that I would ve paid $195 for because it was definitely worth it. Your steak was worth the price of The sizzler restaurant. Sincerely: Sabrina Brandenburg

I have totally enjoyed my 4 times to La Caille. I appreciate the seasonal change of menus. 5 of us did the Saturday brunch outside since the summer weather was perfect! We so enjoyed the unlimited mini croissants! We each chose a different breakfast entry and relished them all, by doing the 'uncool' thing of sharing bites! Delightful. Our group has come for desserts and LOVED them, as we shared. Bananas Foster was my most favorite! Loved the yummy flaming sauce! My daughter and her husband celebrated their 15th anniversary there and thoroughly appreciated the service, food and ambiance. The valets, hostesses, waiters, workers made us feel welcome and special, even though we came a couple of times in very casual clothes. I recommend LaCaille whenever I can for the special occasions, and on spur of the moment for dessert or appetizers!

This is a place you'll want to go if you demand great service. The staff was great and did everything they could to make our experience a beautiful one, even when things didn't go as planned. Nothing is perfect in the world and sometimes things happen that are outside of anyone's control, but the way a place handles it, tells you what type of establishment you're at. The food was well made, and the French toast was the best I've had. Almost like a dessert in my mind. The grounds and building is gorgeous and worth the trip if only to enjoy the beauty of what the owners have done on the upkeep and landscaping.

After having heard locals talk about La Caille all my life, I finally decided to take the plunge and take my wife for our recent anniversary. The location blew me away. Beautiful. The service was very attentive and helpful. The food was good, if over-priced a bit.

I recommend it for a special occasion, but only if you want to drop a few hundos to really enjoy the experience.

Went here for our anniversary. The landscaping of the place is amazing. They really have put in efforts to preserve the old World charm of the place. They grow their own veggies and also have a small vineyard behind the restaurant. The food was okay but the service and ambience is truly great. We had a great time here and will definitely be going back for the experience. The photos came out great too.

It is certainly a beautiful place. We were there in the snow with the Christmas lights and it was wonderful. They sat us near the fireplace. Service was wonderful...they really take great care of you. I was totally disappointed in the food. It was marginal at best. I had lobster bisque (watery and very little lobster) and Bouillabaisse, which was more leaks than seafood. Very disappointing. The server took great pride in telling us the head chef was "self trained" and it was quite evident. A pleasant surprise was the drink menu. We had Dark and Stormies which were fantastic, and I had an Irish Coffee (house special) which was really quite the presentation. Overall, it is a beautiful place, just don't go there for dinner. Tab was $215 plus gratuity.

This is a very interesting place! I came here for a first year anniversary, and we really enjoyed all of the food and the service. I loved the escargot, and I was very impressed with all of the food. The atmosphere was very fancy, and you could find peacocks roaming around outside!

I would give one of my favorite restaurants no stars if I could! Our ski club reserved 3 tables on Sunday night, and were told it was a" basgue-style and price fixe". I have been coming to La Caille since the mid -nineties, a.d now I will not go back. Service was terrible; it took over 1/2 hour for drinks and no other diners were there! Family -style turned out to be Basque, food was served on large platters and we had no dates or silver ware. Desert was ala carte. We were told it was 5 courses. 2 small fillets were cut up for 5 people, with no sauce. Overdone small potatoes and brussel sprouts were on the platter with the steak. A large bowl of bouillabaisse, with no liquid was served, but we had to demand bowls to put it in. Not to mention our bus could not get through the gate, even though we asked in advance. We had to walk up the driveway! At least they gave us a ride down.

The food was good but the service was terrible. We one server that seemed high, the other was inattentive. We were there 2.5 hours, at least one hour was spent just sitting waiting. We were very dissatisfied with the overall experience and it ruined our valentine celebration. Shame on La Caille.

I have a friend who told us that he and his wife ate brunch at this restaurant and it was amazing. He told me to get the Grilled Wagyu Strip Loin and Eggs ($44). He also recommended that I get the Costco gift cards to this restaurant (two $50 gift cards for $75), I also recommend that if you go here you should also get the gift cards. I went with my wifeand some friends to celebrate Christmas. The restaurant atmosphere was amazing, just look at the pictures. When our waitress sat us, we were informed that they were out of wagyu. We told her that we came specifically for that beef and she said she would talk to the chef. I should note that I have never had wagyu beef, but my friend told me you could cut it with a spoon. Being somewhat of a meat connoisseur, I cook a lot of meat with a sous vide, I needed to see what wagyu was about. The waitress came back and told us that the cook was saving some wagyu for dinner, but that since we came specifically for that, they would cook it for us. I was very impressed by how they accommodated us. We were served two orders of croissants-they were the most amazing I had ever had, and a little cone of salmon, which was ok. When our orders came out, they looked fantastic and the portions were large. Unfortunately this is where the issues started. Although the wagyu was cooked to a perfect medium rare, it was really tough. I have personally cooked and eaten steaks that were softer (which were not wagyu) than the one I had here. Additionally, the potatoes were a little dry, but I will say that the eggs were cooked perfectly. I was really disappointed because I was excited to tell everyone about how amazing this place was. The reason I rated this restaurant so low is due to the fact that for the price they charged for my meal, the potatoes and wagyu streaked needed to be amazing, which sadly it wasn't.

Great for groups, business meetings and a romantic night out. This is one of the very few places you'll go where you have a truly memorable experience. Yes it's expensive, but it's always worth going with the right company and taking the time to enjoy the experience.

Everything at La Caille is fantastic! They grow a lot of their own ingredients, the atmosphere is very classy. Sitting outdoors you may have a family of peacocks wander past you. My absolute favorite thing at La Caille is the filet mignon with foyot sauce. That dish is heaven!
