Great restaurant, the oldest in the world. The exquisite food and the price that is paid in comparison with the emblematic it is and the quality it has is not excessive. The hake and pig's trotters are impressive

Very historic but at the same time touristy place. Food is ok - you can find better and cheaper, but you go there for the experience anyways. Portions are quite large - we ended up ordering more than we could eat. You may want to make a reservation or come before they open for dinner (as we did) cause it gets packed very quickly...

Trying to explain what is and what is the oldest restaurant in the world is like trying to explain to a young child what infinity means so that there is only the option to go try it enjoy the environment and repeat if the pocket allows it

The oldest restaurant in the world, with a stove that has never been turned off. This is supported by the Guinness record plate. The average price quite high, but an experience that one day must try.

It s so delicious, because there is only one person to go, the price of a single item is a bit high, so I ordered a set meal. The roast suckling pig is amazing. I have never eaten such a delicious suckling pig. The soup in front is also very good, although it is salty. It is delicious, and the red wine is very smooth, and if you have the opportunity to take a friend, you must try something else.

The food is good and the staff are friendly. If you want excessive kindness like our country is not enough, but I think that kindness is average. But bread appearing before a meal is charged. If you don't eat bread, you can get rid of it.

I visited the restaurant because it was listed in the Guinness Book of Records. The inside of the restaurant is cramped, but the crowded atmosphere is good. Most of the customers seem to be tourists, and the taste of the food is spicy. The prices of Spanish wines are okay. Reservation is required.

Worst. Meal. In. Madrid

What a sad old dump. Food was just awful.. overpriced and resting on its laurels. So much better value available all over the place.

The place is historic, and this has its value.

The place is historic, and this has its value.
The flagship of the kitchen is the roasted cochinillo. The dish is very good, although it could come better accompanied. The meat at the right point and with exact seasoning. The crispy skin and the soft flesh.
I found a little exaggerated the whole mystique of having to book con days in advance. The price is much higher than the restaurant delivers, and by this I mean the food is excellent, but the price is exaggerated ... 45 for the menu: gazpacho, cochinillo and ice cream. Also includes 1/2 bottle of wine

Very good atmosphere, quality. A Madrid classic. Maybe a little small quantity. Expensive, like all traditional restaurants dedicated to tourism, of medium-high level. Meats in general, and suckling pig in particular.

If you go there you will find yourself in the oldest restaurant of Spain and Europe. The food is am aude to ancient food but the prices aren't. This is a place to be and to eat not a place for a romantic dinner. It is touristic and that nobody can take it away.

Located next to the Plaza Mayor in Madrid, it is one of the oldest restaurant bars in the city, dating from 1725. It is a fairly complete restaurant. Several dishes are recommended, among them the tripe, the mushrooms and especially the suckling pig. I agree with what someone said. The Sangria is excellent. Recommendable.

Another gem in Madrid...love this place! The pork is exceptional. The service is fantastic; ie. arrived at restaurant when it was very busy, the host had us wait at bar with complementary wine & tapas. Worth the wait for an incredible meal.

An amazing one of a kind experience! Soak it all in! You are in the Oldest restaurant on the planet! Guiness Book of World records vouches for this! Number 3 on the Forbes best international restaurants! Pretty amazing!
We were greeted by so many staff, seated promptly and met by our waiter quickly! Great service, wonderful food and ambiance! People from all around the world come to experience this beautiful piece of history!
My Dad and I had soup, salad and the sirloin and potatoes, half carafe of Sangria and one dessert, one coffee for 93 Euros! Under 100 Euros for a once in a lifetime experience!

My sister and I had an amazing dining experience at Restaurant Botin in November. We were treated so well. The service was amazing and the food was delicious - the servings are generous. When in doubt about what to order, don't hesitate to ask your waiter. There were Spanish musicians who took requests from the audience. The interior is unique and made us feel like we stepped into medieval times. Overall, we had a lovely time. We highly recommend!
Don't forget to make a reservation, you can't get in without one.

Well the food is very good, the quantities are good but it is quite expensive for what it is. You pay for the location and the history of the restaurant is a place more for tourists than for people who want to eat well in Madrid I think there are quite better and very typical places.

One of the best restaurants of traditional Spanish cuisine that there is in Madrid and that has a wood oven to make roasts. Everything they prepare is very good. In addition the place is very well maintained and maintained. Who appreciates this type of cuisine will be an essential visit. The prices are consistent with the quality of the products they offer.

A classic restaurant, in the style of the old food houses of Madrid, which are left few, unfortunately, with a traditional menu of very well prepared and abundant dishes. Quality home cooking
Excellent service, attentive and professional.
Highly recommended

Quality according to its cache, many years that I did not return to this restaurant finding myself in the best hands again, fantastic location, on its terrace I have felt longing for my childhood days, brutal attention from the waiter who I think was called Cristian, I will visit them as soon as possible !!!

This was the most delicious meal of our entire trip to Spain! The filet mignon was amazing! I also really enjoyed the history of the restaurant. Make sure you read the Guinness Book of World Records plaque in the stairway.

The food was not outrageously expensive. The roasted pork portion looked small when it arrived but was more than enough. The skin was so crisp to protect the delicate moist meat. I had a mid section of the 3 week old piglet. My wife had the roasted lamb and it was the whole entire leg and some more of a 3 month old baby lamb. The recipe stew was also good but a little too rich for me. The service was excellent and the waiter was very helpful with our strange questions.

Horrible. I have been to this restaurant twice before, many years ago and loved it. Now it has become so popular that the owners no longer need to provide good service or decent food. The service was terrible. We were seated in a back corner even though we were the first ones in the door when it opened. So my husband, who had not been here before, did not even get to see the charm of the building. The waiter was rude and unfriendly. We both ordered the suckling pig, their specialty. There was literally NO meat on the pieces that my husband received, only fat and bone. It was disgusting. Mine was 90 percent fat, but it did have a couple bites of meat on it. I would NEVER recommend anyone to go there. Awful awful place, ruined our night and ruined my husband's impression of Spain as this was his first night in Madrid. One positive note, the sangria was excellent.

Food that is the origin of the word restaurant can not be valued. There were a lot of people, but I made reservations and I was able to sit in a good position, and even the coach I ordered, HaMont Shanggria, was satisfactory. I am sick of seeing tourists who take pictures of the door from the outside. Please visit us!

A very good restaurant, steeped in history in a very typical Madrid location. With a good letter. The best food I have ever eaten and the treatment is incredibly good. I would recommend at least to eat there and meet him once in life.
