This is a must, I can barely write of the excitement after tasting such amazing one of a kind burger. The big Daddy is called, rightfully so. The BBQ sauce is the best ever, this is coming from someone who hates BBQ. Ranch , also home made, has a unique kick as well.

Very good. Good food. I'm not a big brewery fan but I did pick a good mild beer and I think it went well with my specialty burger. A short wait for our turn, and the parking was limited.

They have outside dining due to covid-19. We were seated right away. Servers we awesome. Food and large selection of beverages were great.

Ate lunch here on the 4th of July! I was so excited to to try the beers with their gabf 2109 award i was driving ao i just bought the blonde,ipa, red ale, and double ipa. These are some great beers so glad i got to try them! And their food and atmosphere was awesome too!

As far as food goes, AMAZING. The customer service could use a touch up. Our first server greeted us once, I believe she might have had a personal issue with me as she went to get another server from behind the bar to get my drink order. It was my birthday so she gave me a free drink (very sweet). I believe she was strictly a bar tender and the server did not come back to get our food order (I felt ignored). We ended up requesting a different table and that server was efficient, quick, and friendly. Pros: Great food and beer. Cons: Service is a hit and miss, it was also very hot inside of the building at peak ours of the day at least.

We waited a little for a table last Sunday. Service was nice and reasonably fast. Food quality, price and convenience round up to a solid 3. My favorite: the Stout class 5.

Its a little crowded and not laid out the best, but the food is really good and they have fantastic drinks!

Really enjoyed the beers that I tried, the only thing I didn't like is that the place is set out more as a restaurant than a pub, maybe there could be a better area for people just drinking other than 3 stools at the bar, but I must point out I didn't eat here, I'm sure the food is 5star if that's what you're looking for in a brewery

Location: Reminds me of small breweries/beer gardens in Bavaria. Has both indoor and outdoor seating, lots of wood and really nice people.
Food: Excellent. Started with soft pretzels. I could have had them for dinner. Then fish tacos, Mediterranean chicken sandwich, tortilla burger and bratwurst. All was great.
Beer: Not my style. I had a flight to try 4 of their most popular beers. A blonde, Amber, IPAD and Stout. I did not even order another beer. I'm sure done some people love their beers, just not me.

It took an hour to get a table. We showed up at 8pm on a Saturday and it took 50min to seat our group of 3. I understand that they were busy but why then were 4 groups of people (large and small) that arrived after us seated first? If I'm in the area again I'd eat somewhere else.

Awesome place. Beers are top notch and the food is great too

No napkins provided when ordering food from bar. I got my growler filled and the girl wiped it all off with the semi-dirty bar towel. Not cool.

Great selection of beers and two restaurants.
The main brew pub in front serves burgers, sandwiches and salads. The Backyard Pub has a different and very good menu (no fried foods)

Arica gave us excellent service, the food was absolutely amazing, and the beer was nice and cold.

The Lovely Kettle Sour was perfect, and my husband loved the Cat V stout.

This place was amazing!! I had the Big Blue Mine burger and its was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. My husband had a fish fry with house tartar sauce that was out of this world. And the beers....where do I start? A never ending train of refreshing brews that were some of the best I've ever had. I'm not even an IPA drinker whatsoever but these guys made some of the best IPA's and doubles that I've ever tasted. A freakin beer that tasted like a margarita!!! Some wicked stouts. And my new favourite blonde ale called Nenette that was probably the smoothest beer I've ever had and I walked out with two 64 oz. growlers of it. Live music and a great staff I cannot wait to come back here!

Friendly. Crowded. Good portobello mushroom sandwich. Nice character place to eat.

My place to go! Always get a bratwurst and is huge! Beer is great and you can't beat the view up there! The staff is always nice and very helpful!

Great beers and the perfect location for a post-hiking, biking, rafting, camping drink. The food is a fresh take on the standard pub fare with burgers and fried foods dominating the menu. The waffle fries and artichoke dip are outstanding. Kern River BC is rumored to be opening a dedicated brewery right next door with a tasting room and bar.

We came in at opening time which is 11am and our server seemed annoyed that we came in so early. Then we waited for 40 minutes for a fry, chicken sandwich, and a 6 pc hotwing. When finally brought out all but the sandwich was cold and we tried explaining to the server who argued with us about our concerns. Generally a bad experience. Went to EWINGS instead!

Staff is always friendly, and the beer and food are always great!

The food was pretty good and the service was good in the restaraunt. Different story at the bar down below. Not very friendly down there and they kept interrupting us while we were sitting down, repeatedly carding us which was really irritating considering we we're carded at purchase.

Beer was really good. Fish and chips was good. Burgers were good.

All in all, I gave it three starts because of the service down below.

Travelled all the way from London UK to eat at KRBC and did not disappoint. Great food, great beer, great service. And got a great cap for a souvenir too! We'll be back one day.

Great view on the mountains. Simple and delicious food. Also taste of beer sampler worth trying that you can take with you in a bottle.

First time dining there on the patio and had great service!

We went on taco Monday. 3.00 a taco. I had 3. My son had two. We could only eat one, not because they were awesome, they weren t. Totally up creative slop. The tortillas were commercial grade, not heated or puffed up, as a tortilla should. We first went on a trek to find the outback part, in The brewery. Once we found it, we wished we hadn t. So, we went back to the pub. I hope the beer is better than the food. We don t drink, so we were hoping the food was good. Don t waste your time or money. 35.00 for 5 tacos and an egg roll appetizer. The egg rolls were lukewarm, mushy & gross. We will be going Ewing s next time. We won t be coming back here.

As with most establishments there is room for improvement. However, the atmosphere and quality is above average. There is a family feel in the air and everyone is welcome. The beer is literally top notch. The food is se of the best pub food I've had. Some fine tuning and this could be an American staple as a tourist destination.

Come in here and it takes a solid five minutes to get acknowledged because the employees are too busy talking to each other. Food was pretty good. Work on the customer service.

Food was good, but not wait-an-hour-when-they're-not-busy good. Would return once dine-in opens up to try again.

This is a great place to go when you want to soak in that small-town feel. The decor is very charming and they have a decent selection of food and beers. The main downside is it took us about 40 minutes to get our food and six minutes more for my mom's burger. When the restaurant is completely full, it sounds a bit like a cafeteria, which is fine if you aren't specifically looking for an intimate night out. They have a nice patio area and the staff was great.

Chicken popper was very good. Fries were a bit salty but still good - less oily than say chick fil a.

Tuscan chicken salad was OK but it s just a Tuscan chicken salad.

Waited out side for over a hour , then they offered us a table we could even eat at only could sit and have a drink . So we left and went to the Pizza Barn .

Great food, great beer! Worst waitress ever! Had to wait 20+ min to order a drink. Then had to ask twice for anything we needed. We will return because the food and home brews are amazing BUT we will never sit in Rebecca's section again!

Loved our server. Good food - on the creative side, great atmosphere, we ate in the back brew house and probably should have gone to the front house for more traditional bar food.

45 minutes and no food at all. I asked and the waitress said that she forgot to put our order to the kitchen and the food will take more 30 minutes to get ready. Off course I didn't wait more time, it was a ridiculous situation. She did not even said "I'm sorry", or "take some fries while your food gets ready", she just justified saying that the restaurant was full, but it was not, and even if was the case, if you work in a restaurant you need to know how control the orders. Will never ever be back.

I have yet to be disappointed with a Kern River beer. The food is also very good. The new backyard restaurant has a totally new menu with delicious flatbreads!

This rating will stay at a 3 star until they hire a great cook. Not a subpar cook. Some one in town recommended KRBC for a beer and french fries for the kids. And even offered for us to the garlic and cheese fries. My kids haven't eaten french fries since new years. So this was going to be a treat. To our dismay. The fries were a bust. Crisscross or waffle fries loaded with raw garlic and a little cheese. RAW GARLIC. Really. Thank you. My kids don't want fries for the rest of the year. The class 5 beer was delicious. Class 10 a little sweet. Blonde was aok. They have a lot of ipas I didn't try. Nicole our waitress should of taken off the crappie fries. Just saying. It's just fries. The chili was a hit. We bought some to take back to camp site and make chili nachos. We added fresh green onion and queso. Chili was good. It even had Mexican corn in it. Will be back for the beer.

The restaurant is nice, well furnished in a typical brewery style, all wood.
It offers different types of craft beers, which for the most part are quite bitter.
Staff very kind, we have had all the complete selection tasted, to allow us to know them before deciding.

The burgers were really good. The beer is a matter of taste, but you will definitely find something that appeals to you in the selection.
The waitresses were also friendly and attentive.

Friendly staff and extremely helpful explaining the beers or items on the menu .
Every thing was on point . No problem at all .
I enjoyed looking out the window and taking in the beauty of the area.

It took almost 50 minutes to get our food, it was hardly crowded. The waitress said there was a mix up in the kitchen. I think she forgot to turn in our order. The food was mediocre. They gave us 25% of our order, but I won't be going back. Looks like a fun place, unfortunately they don't seem to have their act together.

Best kept secret in eastern California. The beers are great, the staff is super nice. Tons of nice merch. Room for improvement on to-go beers (being able to buy only six packs and 22 oz bottles is very limiting for solo travelers), and the food is just okay.

Kinda stand-offish walk up bar beer service, the wait was 40 minutes, the food took another 40 minutes. The vegi burger.... gotta step up your game. With the impossible burger & beyond meat burger.... the garden patty is kinda out.
Maybe just a beer next time.

Got a cherry cider on tap...was so yummy after a kick ass day on the lake!Sat outside & had the wings..really enjoyed this place. Burgers & craft beer selection looked killer.

Home of the Citra Double IPA. The Great American Beer Festival 2011 gold medal winner beating out the likes of previously more well known Double IPAs such as Pliny the Elder, Heady Topper, and Double Sunshine IPA.

Citra is brewed twice a year and to avoid having to turn folks away, they've switched to a lottery system using Brown Paper Tickets. Winning allows you to purchase six 22-ounce bombers at $7.58 a piece. You'll then pick it up at the brewery or they'll ship it anywhere in California. If you lose, you can always visit the brewery the first weekend you're allowed to pick up Citra and drink it on tap. I support their switch to a lottery system. There aren't lines wrapping around the block, there's room to breathe, and they don't have to tell people who've stood there all night that they've run out of bottles and tapped out.

There's a two-pint limit per customer. After which, you can try their other equally awesome beers such as Isabella Blonde, Just Outstanding IPA, Sequoia Red, or Class V oatmeal stout. If your luck is right, they might have Class X on tap, which is their Class V stout aged in bourbon barrels. Which imparts vanilla, caramel, and oak notes to the already epic stout.

I made the 220 mile journey here last Friday from Orange County to pick up my Citra allotment. Having never been here prior to that, I was astounded to learn how small their establishment is. It's located near an equally small grocery store, food and liquor, and some homes. We were fortunate to snag some seating right at the bar. Down a few steps is where the wizardry happens, a humble 7-barrel brewing system that is responsible for the entirety of their production.

I wasted no time ordering my first pint of Citra and split a large order of their waffle fries (definitely add the cheese and garlic) with my friend. The waffle fries were delivered quickly and with copious amounts of garlic, just the way I like it. The cheesy garlicky-ness of the waffle fries went perfect with the huge hoppy, mango, and pineapple flavors of the Citra. Three pints of Citra, various sips of other brews, and a basket of waffle fries later, I set a course for home stinking drunk and happy with bottles of Citra Double IPA and a t-shirt to commemorate the pilgrimage.

If the opportunity arises, you should absolutely patronize Kern River Brewing Company. The beer and food are delicious, the denizens of Kern County are friendly, and the people working here are hospitable. I will be back for another pint and that Ortega burger soon.
