I have nothing to but good things to say after having LASIK surgery. From scheduling, to the nurses, to both Dr. Kirk's and the procedure itself through post-ops I felt well taken care of at every step.

My vision couldn't be better and I am extremely happy with the results. Would recommend Kirk Eye Center to anyone looking for eye care.

I have been a Kirk patient for 15 years. This was my second operation with Dr. Scott Kirk. The cataract removal and laser vision correction was painless and efficiently performed. All personnel were courteous and careful. I recommend Kirk Eye Center to all of my friends.

I had the pleasure of interacting with Dr. Scott Kirk, Dr. Kent Kirk, and Dr. Carter Kirk while having cataract surgery and lens replacement.
The result is down right exciting. After wearing glasses for decades, the Kirks sent me away with no glasses and excellent eyesight: near and far.

The entire experience was professional, friendly, and well informed at each stage. The staff operated with calm competent reassurance.

I had the LASIK procedure done two days ago and I have been so pleased with my experience. I had a wonderful experience at the River Forest Kirk Eye Center. I had the ICL procedure done and was very nervous going into the surgery center being what the procedure entails. The nurses were very comforting seeing that I was nervous and the doctor was very professional. I was informed of every occurrence and how I should be feeling which put me at ease. I actually found Kirk Eye Center at zocdoc but also read reviews from google and yelp. What a great decision it was to select Kirk Eye Center for my vision problems. My vision was getting cloudy and I felt it was time to get my eyes checked. I needed cataract surgery and Dr Kent Kirk performed that for me yesterday.The procedure took about 15 minutes and I felt no pain during the entire procedure. I had zero side effects: no inflammation, no infection, no swelling, no bleeding, no glaucoma or retinal problems. As I write online, I can read the computer screen better than with my glasses. At my followup visit today Dr Kent Kirk told me that everything was so successful that I could start driving again. No restrictions. I couldn't be more pleased. Dr Kent Kirk is the "Michael Jordan" of ophthalmologists. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Update June 30, 2016: Dr Kent Kirk did my left eye yesterday and did the follow-up today and I now have near 20/20 vision in my left eye. I was able to read the 20/25 line and 2 of the 4 letters on the 20/20 line. He put a distance lens in the left eye and a reading lens in the right eye. I don't need glasses anymore. I couldn't be happier. Both surgeries were done to perfection. I can drive without glasses the day after my surgery. In addition, Medicare plus my supplement paid the entire cost of both cataract surgeries.

I was referred to Kirk Eye Center by my ophthalmologist. After my initial consultation, it was determined that I needed eye surgery and I was immediately apprehensive...okay I was really, really scared and didn t know what to expect!

The moment I decided to proceed with the surgery, everyone at the River Forest office was simply spectacular! From the wonderful ladies at the front desk, to Joyce the Refractive Manager, the wonderful caring staff preparing me for pre-surgery and finally Dr. Scott Kirk, my positive experience far exceeded my fears!

I can t say or write enough about what a wonderful job the staff did to put me at ease from beginning to end! That was 3 weeks ago and now I m scheduling my second surgery this week and I am looking forward to having the vision I had when I was in my 20 s!

Went in for lasik this week and I am so glad I chose Dr. Kirk for my procedure! The staff was beyond accommodating and did everything in their power to make me comfortable on the day of. Dr Kirk explained everything to me and the procedure was surprisingly pain free and fast! I am now at 20/20 vision and couldnt be happier with my decision! I came here on a recommendation from a friend of mine and this place has great reviews for a reason.

Great experience with the folks at Kirk Eye. Lasik can be a very anxiety provoking procedure but the staff made me very at ease and I had no issues and now my vision is fantastic.

I had an ICL procedure done in October. And oh my gosh! Kirk Eye Center gave me my vision back! I went in for a LASIK consultation and it turned out my eyes weren't a good candidate, but they recommended an ICL instead and now I'll have perfect vision (until cataracts--but that's decades away!). After 22 years in prescription glasses, the only kind I'll need is regular old sunglasses-- a luxury I haven't had since I was 6. From start to finish, the associates at Kirk Eye Center have been polite, professional, and just absolutely FANTASTIC! Words cannot express my gratitude for giving me back my vision!

I had Lasik on 10/18 and while my eyes are still adjusting, I had a really great experience that I don't know why I was nervous to begin with. During my consultation, my options were explained to me, I was explained how the surgery would go and my financing and post surgery care instructions. The day of the surgery, all my questions were answered, everyone was very kind to me, and I felt very calm. During the surgery, the Doctor was explaining everything to me and was being super encouraging with his words and letting me know everything was going great (which was incredibly reassuring). I could not have asked for a better experience and I would highly recommend Kirk to those seeking out Lasik.

Hello, I am going to share my whole experience from start to finish on my LASIK journey with Kirk Eye Center. (To get the overall review if you don t care to read the whole story, skip to last paragraph)

I found them online and read some reviews and saw they had FREE LASIK consultations, so I decided to enter in my information and see where that takes me. A few days later I received an email about a setting up an appointment for the consultation. I got quick email replies which was nice and set up my appointment.

A week later it was time for my appointment, I get in and got checked in quickly! They brought me in the back and began by asking questions on my health background. Then they proceeded to check my eye sight. After that they put in some numbing drops and used a pen to check my eye pressure. The numbing drops worked amazing but it did feel very weird, normal though. After that I was seated back in the waiting room for about 10 minutes. I was then ask to come into another room where they did a scan of my eyes, this was very cool and interesting to me. After that I was put into a room to wait to see the Dr. I only waited about 5 minutes until he came in. He checked my eyes and went over all of my information to discuss if I was a good candidate for LASIK or not which I was. I did have a dry spot on my eye which he figured was just temporary and gave me a few eyedrops and if I did go ahead with the procedure he wanted to have me come back in to check to see if it had cleared up. After that I was placed back into the waiting room until I think her name was Joyce came and brought me back to talk about the numbers part. She was very helpful and answered all of my questions and didn t pressure me into anything and I went on my way for the day with my information.

I decided to go ahead and do the procedure so I emailed them and filled out my paperwork and got a date. My date was only a week away which was crazy fast and I had a lot of mixed feeling at this point since I was honestly nervous. I got back in to get my eye checked before hand and everything went well with that.

Surgery day I got there, they took me back and took vitals and explained what was going to happen and gave me something to help relax me since I was basically having a panic attack at this point. The procedure was extremely fast. I would say I was only a total of maybe 2 min of being worked on, minus the prep time and such, but that wasn t a big deal. After I was done my eyes were very sensitive and tired so someone read me my after care instructions. I then was ready to go. I was only there for about 1 hour to an hour and 15.

I got home and I attempted to nap like I was recommended. I laid down but my eyes started to spasm intensely and I tossed and turned for about 45 minutes in extreme pain just trying to get the spasming to stop. I could barely open my eyes at this point and got ahold of the Dr. he instructed me on what to do and within about 15 min they stopped spasming and I was able to rest a few hours with my eyes closed. Later that night I was watching TV and had basically perfect vision minus the slight blurriness.

My next day checkup went as smoothly and my consultation. At this point I had 20/20 vision and my eyes felt great, no pain or anything.

It is a week later as I am writing this and I have done all my eyedrops and aftercare as I was instructed and I haven t had any problems.

If you stuck it out through this experience, I would definitely say if you are considering getting LASIK, do it with Kirk Eye Center. They have gone above and beyond my expectations! I even went back and purchased a nice pair of sunglasses with their great optical team to protect my new eyes.

Fantastic staff, excellent experience with Lasik. Good follow up, I definitely felt well taken care of. Great financing options also.

I have been going to Kirk Eye for years and years. My Medicare insurance made me go to a different eye doctor. I finally convinced my doctor to send me back to Kirk. I trust them with my eyes. Everyone there is extremely friendly and competent.

Had a great experience at Kirk Eye Center,the staff made me feel very comfortable,I had the Laser it was nothing to go through.Then Dr.Carter Kirk put in my new lens didn't feel a thing,after that I could not believe my sight crystal clear perfect.

The Kirk family has taken care of me for my entire life, starting with the father of Scott and Kent, and continuing with their sons. They are excellent doctors and people. Hands down, I recommend them to all, regardless of age, health, and eye condition.

I've had cataracts removed from both eyes and I can say that it is one of the easiest procedures I've ever had. Everyone involved was professional and caring. It's pain free and there's really no recovery (other than maybe a nap). I recommend Kirk Eye Center for all your eye care needs.

My father first met Dr. Kent Kirt I would say 17yrs to 18yrs ago. Dr.Kent did lyser eye surgery, and had a beautiful experience. A few weeks ago Dr.Kent Kirt had the privilege of doing catucus surgery on my father's left eye. My Dad had a excellent recovery and a beautiful surgery. Thanks to Dr. Kirt Kent and his whole staff. I have nothing, but nice things to say about him and his staff. They were all so wonderful and so attentive. It's so nice to come to a place where they make you feel comfortable, especially in a situation like this. Dr. Kent did a remarkable job, I would trust noone else with my father's eyes then him. Dr. Kent Kirk did a surgery for replacing a lense - sight is restored and process was amazingly non intrusive. CLEARLY - seeing better and happy to do the other eye next month!

Dr. Kirk did a great job on my LASIK procedure. I'm so happy with how my LASIK procedure turned out since I now have 20/20 vision. The procedure was quick and the surgical staff as well as Dr. Kirk made me feel comfortable, making the experience as enjoyable as it could be.

Great overall experience with my Lasik procedure for both my eyes. Dr. Kirk & the staff were fantastic throughout the entire process. I'm so pumped that I don't have to wear contacts or glasses ever again!

The staff is great and extremely nice. They went above and beyond when I was having issues with my medical flex spending.

I am typically not the type of person who posts a review, but I have been a patient at Kirk Eye Center for the past 25 years and I cannot emphasize enough how amazing this practice is at helping people achieve wonderful vision! The doctors at Kirk Eye Center have guided me towards perfect eyesight from the time I wore glasses, followed by contact lenses for many years, and most recently the Lasik vision corrective surgery. Each doctor is extremely knowledgeable, polite, and caring. The staff at Kirk Eye Center is warm and friendly, and my entire experience has been nothing but positive. I have already insisted to my younger brother that he schedule a Lasik consultation as soon as possible so that he can receive the same magnificent care and results that were provided to me! Take too long to attend people and not enough translators

Fantastic lasik experience. Dr. Kirk and the team managed a very simple and easy-to-understand surgery (~60 minutes in and out). Dr. Kirk was available by cell phone to answer my minor post-surgery questions: it was quite shocking to have a doctor return a voicemail within the hour! I can't recommend them enough.

What can I say, Dr. Scott Kirk and the team at Kirk eye center are simply amazing. I developed a cataract in one eye about a year ago and he fixed that one and I had my other eye done a few days ago. From the initial exam, then the surgery, and the follow ups afterward, everything is done perfect here! Their staff is so professional and courteous and they really care! I am truly blown away on how awesome the Kirk Eye Center is, keep up the great work, you have a patient and customer for life!

My experiences at the Kirk Eye Center are always positive ones. The staff and doctors are compassionate, understanding, and helpful!

I am so excited with the result of my Lasik operation at Kirk Eye Center. Since I am so pleased with how the operation went and the result. Here is the overall experience of my procedure.

1. Free consultation / follow up questions
I had a Mini-Monovision or Laser Blended Vision as you will find on the internet. Yes, I was scared of having each eye with different visions.
Dr. Kent Kirk along with Ms. Joyce Walter covered all questions and concerns I had prior to the operation.

2. Pre-op preparation
Usual blood pressure check, eye drops, choice to take sedative pill I wouldn t go without it. Nurses were professional and courteous, Dr. Kent also took time to answer additional questions.

3. Creating cornea flap operation
Kirk utilize laser cutting method, this is safer than manual cutting method, which I liked. Only thing is that it is a bit awkward, since you will feel heavy pressure and lose sight on that eye temporary. All I did was just focus on center light and being steady as much as possible as Dr. Kent encouraged me to do so by saying Doing great, perfect and etc etc for less than 30 seconds each eyes.

4. Lasik operation
Allegretto WAVE Eye-Q Excimer Laser System. This machine automatically trace your natural eye movements to eliminate miss firing of laser and it stops, if you move your eye out of the machine s tolerance. All I did was to keep my eye steadily on green flickering light as Dr. Kent also encouraged me to do. During the procedure, green light do move around and the light become fuzzy. What I did is to chase the green light as much as possible and also try to focus on the center of the fuzzy green light. No worries, I did have a few moments I could not locate the green light, if then, I just focused my eye on where the green light was until see it again.

5. Recovery, day of the operation
You will feel sedated from sedative and you will not be able to open your eyes well enough to see. So, when I got home, I immediately wore protective goggles and went to sleep for 3~4 hours, this is easy since you feel sedated. Your eyes will be extra sensitive, so make sure room is pitch black. Don t worry about eye drops, just sleep it away. I woke up with decent eye sight, enough to function around the house, I still kept wearing sunglasses around the house in dark setting with no TV nor electric devices to soften my eyes hoping for faster healing.

6. Follow up appointment and 1st day
I found my eyes already recovered enough to drive. Feeling is very similar to after swam in a pool full of chlorine... Dr. Kent confirmed my combined vision is 20/20, then Dr. tap on my elbow and said you god 20/20 vision! My eyes were still fuzz, so I was still a bit skeptic... I drove to work after the appointment and followed recommended eye drop routines, I even used more tear eye drop (every 30 min) as I found that eyes need moisture to heal. My eyes did not show improvements throughout the day, but they were good enough for me to drive home at night in rain. No depth perception nor weird feeling issue due to Mini-monovision

8. 2nd day after the surgery
I woke up with almost 90% of the fuzziness gone I found myself totally amazed/shocked by the clarity of my vision There is a tree in front of our balcony which is about 30 feet away 3 story height. I can even see crease and dark spot on a leaf almost to the top of the tree 30 feet away. If this is the result from Mini-Monovision / Laser Blended Vision (one for nearsighted, another for farsighted correction). I am now a true believer and I am sure my eyes were never this good in my life what an amazing result this is I drove to work still wearing sunglasses and tear eye drop every 30 min as thinking of the last 10% clarity I am still a bit light sensitiveness, but I am so sure it will subside as it progress, I cannot even wait for next few days of improvements to come

I recently had LASIK Surgery at Kirk Eye Center in River Forest. I was incredibly happy with the experience during the entire process. From the initial exams to the actual surgery to the follow up appointment, the entire staff was very professional, helpful and caring. The LASIK surgery itself was very quick. I felt very well prepped Dr. Kirk and the staff. The first couple hours post surgery were uncomfortable, which was expected, but after that it was pain free. A few hours after surgery I received a personal call from Dr. Kirk following up to see how I was doing....which meant a lot. The next day my vision was great and has been since I had the surgery.
I would highly recommend Kirk Eye Center if you are thinking about LASIK Surgery.

I had a very pleasant experience at the Kirk Eye Center. I had LASIK to correct very poor vision in both eyes and an astigmatism. Dr. Kirk was professional and did not push me into the surgery before he thought I was ready and a viable candidate. As a diabetic, there were further concerns/considerations with the procedure that Dr. Kirk was very aware of. I saw him over the course of a year before he decided it was the right time to do the surgery. Over that year, the office staff regularly checked in with me. My recovery from the surgery was easy and painless. Definitely recommend visiting the Kirk Eye Center if you are considering LASIK!

I had Lasik a few days ago and am so happy I chose Kirk Eye Center for my procedure! Dr. Kent Kirk was so friendly and reassured me throughout. His staff were equally compassionate. I felt so comfortable placing my eyes in their hands.

I am glad to have chosen Kirk Eye Center to get my Lasik surgery done. From start to finish the experience could not have gone better. I went in for my free consultation where my eyes were thoroughly examined and I was told I was a candidate. Dr. Kent Kirk thoroughly explained the procedure to me and what I could expect afterward as well as the timeline of how my vision would progress. He took the time to answer all of my questions, and I did not feel rushed at all, which I have experienced quite a bit with other doctors and what I gleaned from other people's reviews of some of the "cattle call" Lasik centers in the area.

The day of the procedure, I was at the surgery center for less than an hour and a half. I didn't have to wait at all, and the process was streamlined but again, I did not feel rushed. The staff was so nice and seemed genuinely concerned that everything went well. Dr. Kirk explained the process and it went exactly as he said it would go. It was about 30 seconds of total time under the lasers for each eye and the process was nowhere near as uncomfortable as I had imagined. Dr. Kirk gives you his cell phone number to call if you need anything or have any issues.

I went home and took a nap, and Dr. Kirk called me that night to make sure everything was okay which is a nice touch.

By the next day my vision was restored to a level it hasn't been since I was 20 years old! It has been 4 days and so far so good. Just like you always hear, my only regret is that I didn't do this sooner! Great experience, great staff, great doctor, I highly recommend Kirk Eye Center.

I have been seeing the Kirk family for eye care since the early 1960s, when Dr. Harold Kirk was my opthalmologist! Now, his sons, Drs. Kent and Scott Kirk, are my eye doctors. My family has always entrusted our eye care to them! We're fortunate to have them in the community!

I cannot express in words how they changes my life for the better but I will do my best. I went there after having issues with my eyes no longer tolerating me wearing contacts. This was a major issues because my vision was so bad that with glasses I was around 40/20 in one eye and 50/20 in the other. This made it hard to drive at night and even dealing with everyday tasks. Contact improved that to about 30/20 and 40/20. I have always been very near sighted so much that most doctors had only seen a couple patients worse then me. I decided contact implants was the only option I had. Since I maxed out the power of the contact implants I also would need lasik too! It was a long process with many surgeries. I found through the process the Dr Kent Kirk would not settle for good he was determined to make sure everything was done to be the best for me. After it was all done I am seeing at 25/20 better then I have ever have before. No glasses, no contacts, no fear of not seeing ever again! The nursing staff treated me like family and I still visit them when doing follow ups. I would not trust my eyes, my families and friends eyes to anyone else. It was not a easy or cheap road but I am so thankful I did it! Priceless and life changing. I was the blind man they made see. They truly treat you like family and care so much!

3. Recovery.... I could see on DAY 1 after surgery... very sensitive eyes of course. But I was pleasantly surprised that my vision was great so quickly! Normally -5/-4 ....now 20/20....with a little cloud here and there as I continue to heal... I've been told weeks even months will give final results. But I couldn't be happier with my results already!!! Thank you Dr. KIRK and staff!!!

My husband, Mario, had cataract surgery on both eyes. the staff at the surgery center were great. they checked in with him often, and kept him informed as to the next step. He was apprehensive at first but seeing how smoothly it went eased his concerns. The staff was great, the doctors are very knowledgeable and confident in what they do. Dr Kent Kirk is very knowledgeable. Kirk Eye Center respects your time and gets the job done. I had my eye surgery done and was home 2 hours later. The following day I have 20/20 vision. It was pain free. I can t wait to get my other eye done.

Dr. Kent Kirk explained my three options, answered questions, and I never felt I was being persuaded to have LASIK surgery. I mulled over it for a week, communicating frequently with Joyce about additional questions I had. Then I had the surgery and could not be more pleased! Dr. Kirk explained the procedure before and during, and a nurse held my hand while it was happening! It was quick and painless, and recovery is too. I have 20/20 distance vision for the first time in my life! The follow up visit was quick but thorough. Kirk Eye Center was recommended to me by a friend who had LASIK here and I would make the same recommendation without hesitation.

I have been treated by all three Kirk family M.D.s (Scott, his son Tyler, and Scott's brother Kent), and all seem competent and thorough. Additionally Dr. Scott Kirk performed cataract surgery on me about four months previously with a good outcome. Robin, the optical dept. manager was especially helpful when I asked her to check the correction on two sets of glasses I had purchased elsewhere. The staff is in general fairly friendly, especially the two women at the front desk.

I knew that I had to go to the eye doctor, as my eyesight seemed to be getting worse and worse, and that it was quite possibly because of cataracts. Not being able to see up close is in my estimation, somewhat of a relative issue, but driving at night was becoming more difficult. Halos on headlights or any type of street light was soon going to be a limitation.

I came to Dr. Kent Kirk because my former eye doctor had retired after many years and my files had been transferred to the Kirk Eye Center. I found Dr. Kent Kirk to be very professional and knowledgeable about the procedures that he would be doing on my eyes. He took me through the procedure step-by-step. I actually decided to have the cataract surgery performed on my left eye, just two days before my birthday. Though I was a bit apprehensive, I found that everything that was done, was exactly what had been outlined. One thing that I had learned prior to the surgery was that cataract surgery was first performed in about 1750 and I really figured that this surgery would go with no issue. Little did I know that the surgery would go way better than I could have imagined. I found that on the way home, I already could see more clearly, whether it was license plates on vehicle around me, street signs, or even brighter interior lights. My left eye was markedly improved. I came back the next day for the post-surgery follow-up and Dr. Kirk was quite pleased with his work, as was I.

He did ask when I wanted to do the right eye and I immediately told him - asap! I was able to have the appointment for the right eye surgery, 13 days later. This time the cataract surgery went easily, as well as the first. The big difference was there was very little apprehension on my part. Again, I was amazed at how well my vision had improved on the way home. In fact, I don t really know if I had ever seen as well as I do now.

I had glasses from when I was first in grammar school, but I went away from glasses and in to contacts in about December of 1974. I was working as a rookie policeman and was assigned to a bank robbery in progress call. When I entered the bank, my glasses fogged up. Within days, I made the appointment for contacts. From December 1974, I never wore glasses again.

Now with the cataract surgery done on both eyes, I find that I do not need glasses for distance, and, amazingly, I will only need reading glasses that are at the lower end of the prescription range and that depends on just how small the letters are.

All things considered, this may have been one of the best choices that I have ever made. At my age, I can probably say that my knee replacement was good, but, you know, there is nothing like being able to see clearly.

Dr. Kent Kirk and his staff, both at the normal visits and the two surgery visits were fantastic. They exhibited a great deal of professionalism and, I must say that I was quite impressed with just how routine they could make this surgery. If you are unsure, I say - go for it! And Dr. Kent Kirk is the right person for getting the job done right.

When I originally came to Kirk Eye Center I had no vision in my right eye.
I had visited a a center in the Southeast surburb of Chicago and was told that I had vitreous hemorrhaging on the back of my retina.
I was instructed to sleep at a forty five degree angle and it would dissipate.
After coming back for three weeks with no success, I was sent to a Retinal Surgeon.The retinal surgeon also told me to sleep at a forty five degree angle and it would dissipate in a few days.
After I returned in a week the surgeon told me that he would have to do surgery on my retina.He explained to me that he was on the staff at the
University of Chicago and that I should get on his list to have the surgery as soon as possible.
At this time I told him that I wanted to get a second opinion.He seemed unhappy that I would do that.
I was told by a friend that I should go to Kirk Eye Center in River Forest.
When I made an appointment at KEC, I spoke with the nurses there and went in to see DR. Scott Kirk. After being examined by Dr Scott who stated that he did not see what the first Opthamologist and Surgeon were talking about.He then brought in Dr. Kent Kirk and the head surgical assistant.They together determined that it was a stage four cataract.
Dr Scott then summoned the resident Retinal Surgeon.After the Retinal
Surgeon , Dr. Blake Horio looked, he turned the light off, dropped his
head and sadly said that " some one was trying to make some money and if they are doing this to you they are doing it to others".Dr Horio
then stated that I should come to his office in Hinsdale and he wanted
to do a B- Scan.He also stated that it looked like a stage four cataract.
I was given an appointment to see Dr.Horio three hours later.
Upon arriving at his office and having a B Scan he showed me a rectangular card with two large black circles in the center that were surrounded by what looked like the milky way.He said that if there had been any hemorraging those star like objects would be in the black circles.
He then told me to go back to KEC and have Dr. Scott and Lovie (surgical assistant) remove the cataract and I WOULD BE ABLE TO SEE.
After making an appointment I went in a week later. On the day of the surger I was greeted by the friendly staff that assured me that everything
would be okay.
After what seemed to be about fifteen minutes Dr. Scott Kirk asked me how many fingers did I see. I was able to respond correctly right away.
After my first post operation visit my vision was 20/25.When I went back two weeks later my vision was 20/20 and i was very happy
As a result of this experience I would highly recommend the Kirk Eye Center.
I went back a year later and had the left eye cataract removed and all went well.I have gone back for exams and I am grateful for my vision
and the professionalism at the Kirk Eye Center.
For courteous and professional care I would highly recommend the Kirk family of opthammologist and their superior staff.

My son and I experienced the most wonderful customer service that one could ever imagine last Thursday night, which was the night before the 4th of July. I called Dr. Scott Kirk at home at 12:30 at night, when my teenage son had something painful and invisible in his eye(still, after flushing and showering). First of all, I was so grateful that he answered the phone after midnight. I explained the situation, that we had been in his eye center one time, and he proceeded to talk me through how to try to get the fragment out. Much patience, we performed the procedure, but no luck. He had us drive to his house, so he could help us, now @ 1am. He worked on my son at his home, but needed some equipment, so we all went to his office at 1:30am. My son's eye was numbed at the office, so we weren't sure if the fragment was out or not; Dr. Kirk offered to be available to us the next day, which was the 4th of July. My son was better the next morning, so no need. Dr. Kirk was humble and gracious, and never made us feel that we were intruding on him (which we were!). We were blown away by his professionalism, courtesy, and generosity with his time. Great result (we could have been in an emergency room all night, with no eye specialist). THANK YOU.

I had cataract surgery at the Kirk Eye Center and I must say they are wonderful! Dr. Scott Kirk did a very good job. I'm very impressed with the care he provided and the staff there. I definitely give them 5+ stars.

I had LASIK at Kirk Eye Center last week and couldn't have had a better experience. Dr. Kent Kirk was awesome and I felt like he really cared about my eye health. I had previously gone for a consultation at LasikPlus and felt a little uneasy there. It felt like they were trying to get me scheduled for the procedure as fast as possible and spent more time talking about payment than looking at my eyes.

I made the appointment at Kirk just to see if it was any different. Dr. Kirk had some concerns about a few things, scheduled me for some extra tests, and I felt so much more taken care of there. It felt like he actually cared about my long term wellness vs just wanting to schedule me for an expensive procedure and get me out the door.

Everyone at Kirk was professional, accommodating, and friendly. The LASIK itself was so incredibly fast and painless that I could hardly believe it. Dr. Kirk and the nurses there all prepared me really well for the whole procedure and what would happen after. I'm normally very nervous for medical procedures, but I found the LASIK to be no big deal. It was certainly uncomfortable in the few hours following, but I knew it was normal and got through it with no problems. The next day, I was seeing 20/20 and I have had zero issues in the week since. I keep thinking that I'll try to take my contacts out before I go to sleep because my vision is so good.

I would highly recommend going to Kirk to anyone who has been thinking about LASIK. It will change your life!

The bedside manner and eye exam that I received from Dr. Bauer while at Kirk Eye Center was top notch. Unfortunately, the person taking my appointment and the billing department is the reason for this bad review. The long and short of it is to make absolutely sure that they take your insurance before going there.
When I made the appointment, I told the person taking the appointment that I have Eyemed eye insurance. The person taking my appointment asked me if it was Eyemed Access and I said no, it just says Eyemed. She proceeded to make an appointment for me. I was not informed that Kirk Eye Center does not take Eyemed insurance. When I got to the appointment the receptionist could not find my insurance in the system, and this is when I found out that they do not take Eyemed insurance, they only take Eyemed Access. Obviously, this information would have been good to know when my appointment was being made because I would have gone elsewhere.
She then told me that since they do not take Eyemed insurance I would have to pay a $50 fee now and they would bill my PPO for the remaining amount. She told me that whatever the PPO paid they would take as payment. In other words, if my PPO won t pay anything then I won t be sent a bill. I thought this was fair, but still a bit ridiculous since I would have been paying nothing with my insurance. About a month later I received a bill from Kirk Eye Center for another $120 on top of the $50 I already paid. Based on what I was told by the receptionist I thought this must be an error. I called the billing department multiple times and sent a letter to them to no avail. I was told every time I called that the matter would be looked into and I would receive a call back. I only got a return call from them after I sent the letter to the billing department. That call resulted in me pleading my case and once again being told that it would be looked into and I would get a call back. My last resort was to send a letter to Dr. Kirk explaining the situation. This only resulted I me receiving the bill yet again. I must have received this bill at least five times. I finally paid it to avoid dealing with a collection agency or whatever happens when bills are left unpaid.
I realize that $170 probably isn't a horrible charge for an eye exam from a ophthalmologist with the background that Dr. Bauer has, but you must understand I was expecting to pay nothing with my insurance that I already pay for. If you read this whole review just know to make absolutely sure that they take your insurance. If they do and you get paired with Dr. Bauer I am sure you will be happy with the treatment that you receive from him.

A phenomenal experience from start to finish. I underwent the LASIK procedure done by Dr. Kent Kirk only a little while ago and am extremely happy with the results. From my first consultation to my post-op appointment, I felt like Dr. Kent was thorough and cared about my concerns. The operating room staff was very accommodating and made me feel comfortable during the entire procedure.
