I remember the woman rudely hanging up on me when I called in to talk about applying for Biological Sciences through UCAS Extra. Called in not once, but thrice and on all three occasions, the same woman picked up and hanged up on me. Says a lot about the university doesn't it? They say you will never get a second chance to leave a first impression - too right! Never considering that dump of a university ever again.

It is the worst ever experience in my life, I regret the most for choosing this university to do my MSc, this course is of no value in India and the module syllabus is equal to B.Engg second year...university only knows to rob money of international students and fails to get placements, Indian students don't ever go to this stupid university..you will regret later after one year..ABSOLUTELY GOOD FOR NOTHING UNIVERSITY, RATING IT ONE STAR IS ALSO NOT WORTH IT< IF THERE WAS A RATING OF HALF OR QUARTER STAR I WOULD HAVE GONE FOR IT

It's a university. And it will give you an internationally recognised qualification. There's not much special about it. The community aspect of things seems pretty lackluster compared to the universities my friends from college went onto. All of the students union registered groups are either religious or unpopular with nearly no members or activity.

It s an ok university. I did my BSc in Psychology here and I would say the best thing about it is that they have good connections with other universities in case you want to go for an Erasmus which was the best part of my studying experience there.
Otherwise staff are very not helpful, distant, there is no vibe to this place and not enough good social activities to bring people together and make friends.
The course structure was too much tailored in order to pass exams rather than give real knowledge and it s all 100% theory, nothing practical at all in that course.
They don t help you in any way to get jobs or anything after you finish.

Cant believe we have to pay for our last term in uni, when the online material is not sufficient and majority of the lecturers dont know how to use zoom. This is a failure from both the University and Student Finance UK. On exam day when having issues uploading work, the lecturers are not even active to reply to emails.

Kingston University has the best lecturers ever. I can only speak for the Life science/Chemistry/Pharmaceutical department. This university has the most down to earth lecturers. Even though they used to be busy with their work, when a student come over to their office to ask for any help, they never turned any students down. If one ever needed any extra help with a lesson, they would go down to the student's level of understanding and explain the lesson. Even when it came down to choosing our career and obtaining life skills, they were excellent mentors. One key point that stands-out is that these lecturers work for "us". There will always be notable alumni from this university, but we've had the privilege to learn under the best.
People will always say that Kingston has very low standards, as compared to UCL or Imperial or King's, but we Kingstonians know that we've had the best time of our lives in Kingston. We've had a good uni-life balance, we've made awesome friends and uni was fun.

Kingston University has a lot of potential to be an good institution, however, the support for students is poor. It is as if the staff members have strict marking criteria and procedures so students do not easily pass. Maybe they should reconsider their rules and regulations because something is not right.

It is very important for students to feel a part of a community and it is really is not like that which is a shame because the student life is so important, this is what motivate students to come and learn! Furthermore it's merely impossible to host events.

It's overall a decent uni, the Penryhn Road campus is better than all of them tbh. Then again this is just my opinion :)

I have just completed a Master in Fine Art at this university. If you are looking for a place where the teachers care about art, where they care about your development as an artist and where you will be pushed to improve yourself as a practicing artist then my recommendation is........Do Not Do your Masters at this University.
The worst two years of my life, a waste of money that has totally demoralized me and left me with no desire to continue with my passion......making art.

Social distance was on point. Sanitation stations everywhere in the uni and a one way system in and out are indicated with arrows on the ground and green and red circles around the uni building

Finance department staff was very rude and condescending over the phone. I was just calling to ask for information about a recent announcement and being told off with an attitude. Please remember that students pay for the university. We deserve to ask for further information and we expect a kind and helpful answer. Some basic common sense and kindness would do.

absolutely a rubbish uni. do not waste your time here. I was lucky enough to graduate with a 2.1 but I can't say the same for everyone else. The lecturers are clueless and some are actually quite stupid to be honest. I learnt most of the things throughout the 3 years from Google and they didn't even realise that most of my work was copy and pasted without reference. They didn't cover vital parts of the assignment requirements as a result a lot of our grades were compensated due to lecturers making mistakes. This uni is a joke and admin staff are retarded I was not even able to book my graduation tickets because the university website is so shite that it kept crashing. The staff had no idea how to handle the situation. save your money and do not go to this shite uni. All of these reviews can't be wrong.

They were legally required to share information with the teachers that I was autistic. They didn't for three years. Eventually this created servere issues that would've been easy to avoid had they known and I was forced to drop out.

Teachers cancelled classes constantly. One teacher cancelled a year of classes and told us to arrange a meeting time with them personally. Due to my issues that was diffuclt and never happened meaning I missed a year of teaching for a module.

Much of the teaching advice was contradictory with one teacher criticising you for what another had instructed you to do.

Often times I would have to point out sentences after review to ensure the work had been marked correctly as it seems whole swathes of work would be read over or ignored.

Overall an awful expirence. Any other university would be better.

Additional info:
The clubs, societies and activities were sufficient but nothing better than my local leisure centre or a central London museum.

Many lecturers would speak about their ideology before talking about the subject matter with one teacher explaining that romance novels are anti-feminist in nature instead of actually teaching us how to write romance novels as was advertised on the module. This was at least half of the total lesson time on that subject.

These issues would occur a few times over such that the course began to feel like an advertisement for the professors book rather than a lesson itself.

For now that is all I have to say. The facilities were sufficient. The toilets were often dirty.

This was a great place for an undergraduate and postgraduate study. The new building at the Penrhyn Road campus has made a lot of difference in terms of having lecture rooms close by. The university life was very multicultural and friendly. The only let down is that a university in a location like this could have catered for student parking.

Worse university I have ever been too I was a student in 2011 and had to leave due to unreleastic timetables . We had few lectures at Roehampton vale center and others at Penrhyn Road which is like 30mins on the bus or more. There was no supports for students with dyselexia I am not surprised why it has dropped so behind on the Guardian UnierUnive list.

My partner did his masters here and rates Kingston University with five stars. Facilities, lecturers, environment, all five star! He passed his masters in Manufacturing engineering with First class honours with distinction, due in greater part to the university (as well as his own brilliance, of course!)

Kingston University London, could not have provided me with a better experience of university life. The staff and students are all friendly, the course is brilliant, the social life is great and the campus provides a safe and friendly environment to live in!

My feedback is for Engineering Campus. I am not sure about other faculties. :)

In general it is average University. The facilities are good such as brand new computers, but unfortunately they accept so many students while they do not have enough number of lecturers and staffs to support them. I Think Kingston University's big problem is that they do not have good lecturer. On paper they may have published so many papers but in reality they are not very helpful or better to say they do not care to be helpful.

One more thing, If you are international student and want to apply for PhD scholarship, it would be better to consider Kingston University in your last choice as they are normally select European student and does not matter how good are you you always get this email:

"I am sorry to have to tell you that you have not been awarded a PhD studentship: there were a large number of candidates for a very limited number of places"

Well but do not worry nature always have better thing for you :) :). It is better to concentrate on more famous universities as they select base you on your ability not nationality :).

In conclusion, I am sure if Kingston University was outside London no one would go there but if you are in love with London and have limited budget you can do your BSc or MSc But Not Please not PhD :) :) :)

In all honesty; KU is a decent and mildly underrated university. The penrhyn road campus isn t in any way beautiful; infact it s compact and quite unattractive, but after all it provides everything necessary to a high standard. The library, computer labs, lecture rooms, the cafeteria, the online system are all satisfactory and convieniant.

During my completion of a BSc Computer Science course; I found the teaching to be solid and fun in some modules and helped me find passion in things that I initially disliked such as database management and programming; however on the other hand; some modules are very lacking and at times pointless to attend lectures to. Sometimes I felt like it would ve been more productive to read the material myself therefore be careful when choosing an exact course (information systems, software engineering, computer science etc) and beware of the modules you choose in third year.

The teachers care a lot about the students and they go out of their way to help; sometimes makes you feel like you are still in 6th/college as opposed to a university . Most if not all project supervisors are very helpful and invest themselves thoroughly into the individual project that you decide for your dissertation thus it is not as stressful as people might assume. KU is definitely not a hassle when it comes to work and studies but you do need to put some work in and be fairly consistent.

My son attempted to register and we both found that the registration and support staff(we understand are students themselves)are arrogant, unhelpful, gives conflicting information and there seems to be a conspiracy to make it difficult, if not discourage my son from registering at the university despite having fulfilled all the entry requirement according to the university's website. I cannot stress in a stronger words for lack of terminology, short of using crude language, that these people can be infuriatingly rude and went out of their way to make things very difficult. The unfortunate thing about the university is that there is no other avenue to address issues like these other than through the perpetrators themselves. Ratings besides, this behaviour by the registration/support team is really going to reflect very badly on the university itself.

Studied my master's here...waste of time and money. The psychology department don't care about their students. Problems from previous years were constantly brought up to which they just laughed about how it still hadn't been sorted. One lecturer did an impression of someone with down syndrome. Oh and they don't care if you alumni either. Glad I got a master's but not impressed that it was from Kingston.

I am currently an engineering student studying Mechanical Engineering (BEng) and am a direct entry to year two.

Firstly, its a shame that Google Reviews doesn't allow you to put zero stars, as this is exactly the rating Kingston University deserves.

I would like to say that from my experience of this university so far it is absolutely appalling how things are organised (For lack of a better term) and how both Lectures and Workshops are conducted.

From me being notified that I was due to attend a practical session the day after it had been conducted (This was not on my timetable and therefore I was unaware of its existence). For group assignments with dates for different groups without being given a group number. To lecturers turning up late for lectures or workshops thereby delaying the start/finish to said lecture or workshop throughout my busy day.

Canvas, this is the online software that this university uses in order to supply the students with the 'resources' and 'information' they require in order to 'Complete' their course. This is the worse piece of software I have come across for educational purposes throughout my life. It doesn't work well on any platform and especially does not work on Android or iOS where information fails to be displayed and from what is shown is in an unreadable format. It is shocking to say the least that this passed the design, development and testing stage let alone being live for students and teachers to use.

Currently it is extremely difficult for me to find assignments, lecture slides and other important course materials. For Example under a module there is a tab called 'Assignments' (Where you would hope to find the assignments for that module) however if you went there looking for it you would be wrong. For me I have to find the subject for that module, then under the sub heading I will find another heading to where the assignment is. This doesn't sound like hard work however the information isn't view-able until you click on the heading and then you have to do further digging which just adds frustration and time for an already difficult course, the website is also slow to respond and can take a while to process a request.

Formula Student Team, Throughout my induction week I attended several presentations for the formula student team, I put down my Student number (On more than one occasion) as was told to wait for them to contact me for further information and to arrange a possible interview.
After waiting for a few weeks for a reply nothing had been sent my way, I therefore decided to visit the Lab to which I had another discussion, they took down my student number and to this day still have not contacted me. If im not fit for a role within the formula student team I can accept that. However, to not even contact/interview me to find out what I can bring to the table is disgraceful. Despite being told throughout several induction days that 'Anyone' can be apart of the team regardless of previous experience and 'there is no limit to the size of the team'.

In summary, I am seriously angry with Kingston University as a whole and would advise if you were looking to study for a degree then look elsewhere. I currently have not turned up in weeks and yet im still getting good grades with testing and assignments on current material thereby showing that the lectures are there for purely a 'we need to do it' purpose. I am not worried about my attendance as most lectures dont even bother to bring a register.

Should anyone from Kingston University read this review and wishes to discuss matters with me then please feel free too.

I think this university will be perfect for mine at the same time all over the international students, because they have enough facilities for any kind of students among others. I extremely believe that there culture and history and tutors will be friendly for students,
also there guidelines going well always.
I highly want to go there for enjoy all study journey moment's When I will finish my course I will back my country for grow up myself by working in government IT sector.
