So typical in such a lovely area that is Amersham Old Town. Kings Arms is a witness from the past. Lovely surroundings. Comfortable room, handy car park, restaurant and pub in the same vicinity.

Charming old buildings, friendly staff and a good breakfast. Nice rooms with a good shower. Car park has charging points for electric vehicles, which you might not expect for a building this age!

My wife and I popped in for a cream tea and throughly enjoyed the experience. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was relaxing and the sofas were cosy. Altogether a great choice a relaxed drink.

Just came in for food as I was passing by.
VILE. DISGUSTING. MORBID.
I asked my waiter and coincidentally the manager for his name and he completely dodged my question. After some pressing, he confessed that his name was Gareth.
He had absolutely no time or respect for me, probably because I was a single man and he thought he wouldn't get a tip.
Food looked like it came out of a microwave and had an aroma of mouldy meat.

Nothing like I expected. Great service and staff. Best bathrooms in 'The Chapel' Beautiful setting, seeped in history. Memorable visit. Recommend for a night or weekend away, a function or meetings.

I think this hotel is best experienced from the street or from the Internet rather than from inside it. From afar you can marvel about how quaint and cozy and long standing and historical the place is.

From the inside you notice things like: (1) stairway ceilings you have to duck under lest you crack your skull open (I'm 6' 3" tall, but shorter colleagues had the same issue); (2) oddly configured rooms where you sometimes have to go down a few steps and then up a few steps to get from the bedroom to the bathroom; (3) bed mattresses that aren't particularly firm or thick; (4) a fair amount of street noise / pub noise leaking through thin walls; (5) extremely powerful water pressure in the shower -- ouch!

The hotel had the additional problem, when I was there, that the waitress didn't show up, leaving the valiant but clueless about restaurant service receptionist to do her best to help the guests.

Nice historic hotel in the centre of old Amersham. Friendly staff and good food in the restaurant. The restaurant also took care of my food intolerance without any issues or fuss. Only negative is the room was in need of some spring cleaning and looked like it hadn't been vacuumed recently.

This was new years eve so we specifically requested a quiet room. We were told by Jenna that the stable room was away from the festivities and other guests so would be quiet.

When we arrived our room was on the way from the bar and restaurant to the other rooms, meaning you have to walk right past our door (room 303) When we got in the the toilet was broken and constantly flushing. We managed to pull the button out but it would break again every time we used it. The cold tap wasn't cold, meaning you couldn't drink from it.
There was one window that had a completely useless blind that was put up so it let the light in.
The room had paper thin walls, I could hear the numerous excited children next door and it seemed every drunken screaming patron did indeed walk right passed our door to get to their room.
I don't blame the people having fun, it's not their fault but I couldn't sleep until about 2:30am. I'm furious I paid a premium price for a "quiet room" to have the worst room in the hotel.

Breakfast was just as appalling. I had salmon and scrambled egg. The salmon was brown and was clearly out of date, I couldn't eat it and just wanted to go home. My partner had the full English and said it had been under the hotlamp for some time.

This hotel is beautiful but it's a complete rip off, don't book if you actually want to enjoy a nights sleep

Lovely decor. Looks like they've maintained a lot of the history. We had a light lunch and the food was quite nice. Decent menu. A bit different than the run of the mill. Very nice and attentive staff. We are outside in the courtyard. Warm and inviting on this warm, sunny afternoon. Not quite a five star rating from me, but I'd return when I am next in the area and give them a chance to earn five.

We stayed at The Kings Arm Hotel for a few days while in Amersham and it's a charming little hotel. I believe we stayed in the modern section (?) There was an upstairs and downstairs section, the bathroom being on the first floor. Very modern bathroom, great tub! The room still had lots of original history and old charm. The room was clean, set up with complimentary wine, jars of snacks, still and sparkling water, in addition to coffee, Twinnings tea, biscuits and an electric water kettle. Breakfast each day was excellent - the Continental breakfast and the menu options were delicious! With the exception of the huge spiders we found in the tub a few times each morning (due to the rainy season) everything was kept clean and tidy. The grounds are very pretty as well. We were checking in after a huge wedding party the night before and when new couples were coming to check it out for their big day so it's a very popular wedding venue.

Stayed in the executive suite for one night, as a guest of a wedding party. Clean, spacious and quiet of an evening.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Had a bit of a hiccup with the breakfast area not accommodating us all but quickly remedied by opening the bar area which was lovely, with an open fire and again, helpful staff.
Prices were on the higher side but definitely fair.
Would stay again.

Very attentive and helpful staff - the two men who attended to us throughout were so helpful, accommodating our every need. Even to helping us package up the leftovers so we could have them at a gathering of the same people later that evening. They let us decorate the snug area however we wanted for our friend's baby shower. Thank you so much.

Nice small hotel with a good mix of traditional features and modern fittings. The hotel has ample parking and is convenient for the local shops and restaurants. Didn't use the bar or restaurant for dinner, but they looked ok. Amersham has lots of choice on both fronts if you do want to venture away from the hotel.

Really nice and clean room. Lovely setting. Great breakfast. There was a bit of traffic noise from the road outside our window though, not the hotels fault and they have attempted to put extra glazing to stop the notice.

I was met with very rude service from arrogant indifferent staff with obviously no customer service training. Totally embarrassing to me and the party of friends I was with. I had hoped to show them what I thought was once the best hostelry in what was once my home village. Sadly I will never return.

Stayed overnight here for a wedding recently. The standard bedrooms are lovely and spacious, the breakfast was divine (and much needed) with a buffet of fresh fruit, pastries, cereals etc. as well as cooked options. The bar area is cosy and welcoming, and the staff are super lovely and helpful.
