King's Dominion-Cedar Fair Entertainment Company Review

The reason I gave them 3 stars we went yesterday and could not enjoy ourselves the Bees there was so overwhelming you could not stand in line, sit down, eat inside or outside without being attack by the bees there. Please kings dominion get an exterminator.

Kind of disappointed. I've been going for over 30 years and since Cedar Fair took over the park has changed and not for the best. One of the most famous rides, White Water Canyon, used to get you soaking wet. At the end of the ride there was a waterfall on both sides of the tunnel before the ride was over that got EVERY ONE soaked, it wasn't on. The Hurler roller coaster was dismantled. The Shockwave was gone but wasn't replaced with another roller coaster. The old wooden Grizzly roller coaster is still there and feels very dangerous when you're on it, like it's gonna fall to pieces. It's a very rough ride! The Volcano stopped working twice and shut down twice. The car roller coaster, formerly Italian Job (I think it's called Backlot) used to have affects, police sirens, ammunition and fire as if you were in a chase while on the ride, NOT ANYMORE! When Paramount owned it it was much better. I did more walking than riding. They need more extreme roller coasters to stay alive!

The winter fest was really nice my only issue was that most of the rides for the little kids weren't turned on so my daughter didn't really get to enjoy herself like she did last year when we went but we still made the best of it with the rides that were available and the 3D sleigh ride and Christmas arts and crafts!!!

Very disappointed in Kings Dominion. Most of the rides were down all day. Including 4 of the top roller coasters.

We had an issue with our ticket booking, but the day at the park was lovely. We will definitely return.

Fun rides and a cool environment, but many of the more fun attractions are hit-and-miss when it comes to reliability (I can come one day and all the rides will be open, then the next day, only 5 coasters will be up). The food is some of the lowest quality, overpriced junk I've ever encountered, so I would stick to the chain restaurants they have (even though there still is a 75% upcharge on basically everything).

This place is fantastic. Make sure to go on a weekday in the early afternoon so there won't be any lines. The staff are pleasant, the park is clean and well kept. When I went volcano was closed so make sure you check their website so you know what rides are up and running and which ones are closed.

I've worked here for 3 years and I love spending time here. The park is great. Clean and everyone is so happy

Kids first time going and they loved it, 2 big rides were down but with younger kids it didnt make much of a difference for us

Great park! Cedar point is our home park, but this year we bought platinum passes and decided to try out a few other Cedar Fair properties. This was by far our favorite. Intimidator is THE BEST. I hope we can return sometime.

A must visit for every person comming or staying in the DMV. The Halloween Scare is amazing as is the Winter Fest.

Who doesn't lo ve riding coasters and one of the tallest and extremely fast intimidater

Love all the rides. Monday in June is a perfect time to go. Weekends are way to busy. Mondays barley any wait

This place gets better every year! With the expantion of Snoopy, you can now enjoy more with your family.

Halloween Haunt was a blast! Took my 10 year old. Wasn't too scary for him at all. He loved it. We made frequent weekend trips back. Can't wait to go to WinterFest. Season passes well worth it.
Update: Went to Winter Fest with my son. Sooo much fun and just so beautiful! Lovely lights, smells and sounds of the holidays. Wonderful dressed up characters. Plenty to do and see to keep us excited and happy for 5 hours! Really cool ice skating rink.

Great for kids. I just wish after all these years they'd upgrade the bathrooms. Regardless of how clean they seem, it still feels like of grimy.

Kings Dominion Halloween Haunt 2018 was amazing! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a good scare. The atmosphere was creepy, the rides were breathtaking, the haunts were bloody awesome!

Great for families or groups. Great rides if you like rollercoasters. Yet the food is really expensive and may get crouded on the weekends.

Our favorite theme park. We are season pass holders and visit multiple times, yearly. We live closer to Carowinds, but prefer Kings Dominion.

I wanted to be excited for this place but in the 7 hours we were here we didn't even get to all of the main rides. This was mostly due to the atrocious lines and incredibly slow ride managers. Seriously an hour and a half wait for twisted timbers, all day long. Even a gentler ride like the Wind Seeker I timed the employees from the time the riders were allowed to get on to the time the ride started. It took on average 6-7 minutes for a 2 minute ride, to do safety checks and they didn't even check every seat. Just lazily strolled around occasionally pop up someone's restraint then walk away only to come back and push it down for seemingly no reason. They also made me move seats away from my wife so they could put some other fat lady in my seat because apparently they are larger. I don't know, they wouldn't tell me why I was moving. Food is overpriced and lackluster as any theme park. Then they have some rides that if you have any loose items or backpacks, which if you're spending the day here you will have. you have to PAY extra for a locker for each ride or you can't go on them. Why can't I just set my items up by the platform like every other ride at every other theme park? They have that for the wooden coasters here but for the premium rides it's a joke. It's all about the money, and the $70 ticket cost you're better off going to Six Flags in Maryland. If you have to go here though the Dominator and Intimidator are good rides. I've never left a theme park feeling unsatisfied until I came here.

Great ride options...but their downfall comes in the way of food and drinks. Plan on spending 30 to 60 minutes waiting in line to get food. None of which is any good really. Your best options are Chikfila and Panda Express. Of course those come with the longest wait times too. Got your free refill cup? Not enough drink stands in the park to accommodate. Dont expect to walk right up and get a refill. Very few employees know how to work the register. This is the main issue. Dont waste money on the dine all day package. Pack a cooler and snacks.

Omg this place is AMAZING it's fun asf and it's a great place to take kids. 5 stars . BRAVO

Had a great time with my son even though I can fit on some of the rides but I had a great time

Great park overall. We went on a Monday at the end of August. Weather forecast was iffy, so we walked on to every coaster all day. Park needs a little updating and cleanliness could use more attention but overall we had a fantastic day. Twisted Timbers is outrageous! Highly recommend.

I had a blast with my friends last Friday! The lines were so short, which was good because it was my first time there

My family and I like it a lot,we had Busch Gardens passes for the past two years but my kids have been talking about going back to KD.I think they like how the water park and theme park are combined, also kid rides are grouped together.A lot better since cedar fair took over.

Place needs a new rollercoaster! Most of their older rides aren't that great. Intimadator and twisted timbers were great.

Food was poor and not cheap at KD. I've done multiple Cedar fair parks and their food always falls short.

Operations were shocking on twisted timbers! A train was sent every 5 minutes which defeats the point of having 2 trains on the track.

Queue jumping also seems to be the norm of KD.

Love the place since the day of.my first visit.....this is my 4th time n got my extended family to accompany us...they loved it as well...the best are the dominator, grizzly, intimidator,volcano....I would say all are good...even the kidy rides...

Went for the Halloween haunt night. It wss a fantastic time with my son and cousin. Hope can do it again next year!

Winterfest is done well! Kings Dominion has worked hard to transform the lovely little park into a winter wonderland. Go there often to recharge your Christmas spirit!

Have been going here for the last 40 years and the rides never disappoint.

Our visit to Kings Dominion was terrific! The park was VERY clean, obviously maintained and the atmosphere was wonderful - from the fountains and greenery to the selection of music that was played in different areas of the park. Even the bathrooms were cleaned regularly throughout the day. We really enjoyed the coasters and the water park area, but all the rides were great. The staff AND other visitors were all friendly and we felt very comfortable. It was easy to access since it's located right off of 95. We wish we could have stayed an extra day to be able to take in more, since we were still finding rides that we hadn't yet discovered and the day was drawing to a close. I wish we lived closer so we could be regular visitors. By the way - there was NO thug mentality on the day we went, and we only heard two words of profanity all day. Maybe it was just a good day to visit, but there was not ONE thing about this park that we didn't enjoy.

Really fun to go to. Its better whrn you are surrounded by friends

Love the rides! Military appreciation days was very a very cool deal. Love the water park after waiting in long hot lines for roller coasters!

Our family has been going to Kings Dominion for years. And we always have a blast. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good day out with the family.

Had a blast, took my 10 year old daughter for her first time! Needed another day to do it all. Great trip!!

We went during Carnival!! What a great show for us and the kids!!! Get a map so you dont miss a thing!

We always enjoy Kings Dominion. Lots of rides for children to enjoy. Always clean and friendly staff.

Parking is easy. Great rides for all ages and all the kids had fun.

We have season passes. Kids love it. Only down fall is that lots of attraction are closed or opened on limitated schedules.

I love the park and the lines for the rides weren't bad. It was moving pretty quick

BEST time EVER! My family and I came down to VA (Woodbridge) to visit my mom for my bday week. And we decided to come to here for r last day. And we had a BLAST!! One thing I did NOT like and I let then know, was when my 8 year old whom is autistic, was in the Joe's driving school ride (mini cars) one of the rules r to raise ur hand if u need help. Before my son went on, I kept repeating the rules to him. Anyways, My son raised his hands in 3 occasion cuz his car kept stopping, and the guy that works there kept on passing my son by! So the other girl came from the other side to help my son. The time was up, my son was the only still in the car cuz he didn't know how to get out. I started to go over to my son when again, the young lady went over to my son while the guy just stood there. I let him have it! I told him what he did was wrong n he is NOT the person for that job. I told the young lady about my sons n I thanked her repeatedly. Also told her I didn't like the guy n he should NOT be working with kids!! Other than that AMAZING time!! Worth every penny spent!! Pretty good amusement park. My favorite rides were not working last time I went though. The water park is better than average.

My friends family and I visit several times a year. Great family fun!

They have metal detectors and I still didn't feel safe!

Very pricey, not super clean.. Food was mediocre, staff were okay, not enough chairs in the water park, water park was too big and not laid out in a family friendly way

Seems like it's getting less scary each year for Haunt.

Went during 'The Haunt' and really only went for rides. It was great lines were very short, operation of the rides are a bit slow as far as loading/unloading go but still with almost no waiting in lines I can't complain.
