Khao Sarn : Thai Cuisine Review

This is the most authentic Thai restaurant I have been to in the UK. Gorgeous food and the usual dead pan waitress service. The best.

This was really good on Friday. I love the Thai food and the staff always treat my family so great!

Really nice local Thai restaurant. Food authentic and very good. Only problem we had was a large loud beer drinking group were there when we went. However credit to the manager he asked them to quieten down.

Always the best service...great atmosphere....good timing with food. --Haven't found a Thai restaurant around that can compare...although we have looked. The service makes you go back, again and again...hard to find in Surrey...like a home away from home.

Nice little family run place, very attentive and great service.

Went with partner and children as it was son's birthday. The service, food and price was fantastic plus when the owners found out it was his birthday, they surprised us all by bringing out a sparkling dessert for him singing happy birthday with the public joining in. We travelled from Oxford to come here and will definitely be doing it again 100% top recommendation for this place.

The family and I have been going here for years - great food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Great to see it back open again after the Covid lockdown, hope business returns as much as it can for them so the place stays open.

Tried this for a takeaway first time last night.
Service is great and staff very friendly, but food is nothing to shout about and it's pricey too.
Have had much nicer elsewhere for less.

Great tasting food from Thailand and a really friendly service.

Omg where do I begin....I am shocked. Arrived here for a table booked for 2 for 7.30pm.

Waited ages for food over 45 mins...complementary prawn crackers given to certain tables and not all.

The sad thing was that I began to enjoy our food and had ordered sticky rice...where there was a prominent black hair which was definitely from the kitchen as I have long black hair and this was a smaller hair.

Then I tried to stay discreet to avoid any embarrassment on staff and asked her to change over.

I then ordered a bananas fritter dessert ...but to my shocking surprise this also came with a hair on the side. Again, trying to save face I walked over to the desk to inform them that something was not right in the kitchen. I got no apology but they offered a replacement where I said no.

Rather than apologising for ruining our meal, they actually expected me to pay for the dessert too. As I confronted this I got abuse back that they had replaced the sticky rice!!

I am very unhappy with my visit that I had read thod restaurant to have 5 stars and some good reviews. Sorry but definitely not worth this status.

Good food . Reasonable price. Friendly staff. A little too tone down with the chillies for my liking. But that's my personal opinion and taste. Would recommend this place.

Terrible service ordering with Uber eats. If they had their own delivery service I d consider going back but not with Uber. We ordered at 7:30. The food turned up cold at 9:40. Uber gave us a refund but we couldn t eat it. Ruined our evening...

We ordered a home delivery through Deliveroo so I can t say anything about the place itself. However, the food was absolutely delicious! We didn t leave the beaten track when it comes to our choice of meals, so we went for tempura prawns and duck spring roll for starters and green chicken curry with coconut rice for mains. Extremely tasty and good portion sizes too. I can only highly recommend Khao Sarn in Walton on Thames.

Great restaurant and excellent service, went for a meal with my wife and was amazed with the exceptional service and the tasty food. definitely recommend if in the area.

Moved here about 6 months ago and I am so glad we found Khao Sarn. Great food, good service, and the menu has a good variety of choices.

Dave and his team are really friendly and welcoming. We booked outside working hours and they still got a table on a Saturday night so we were delighted to be served.

Food was well flavoured and quite light. Never had soft shell crab that tasted so good! Highly recommend for couples and family.

FYI, the restaurant was fully booked! Book in advance!

It is a pleasant Thai Restaurant however all the dishes tested are way to mild and do not carry the full Thai experience in taste. That is maybe done purposefully to meet the local demand. But the flavours do not hit you the way they should. Otherwise it is difficult to fault it, service, price is good just an overall lack of strong thai flavours as you would/should expect from a Thai restaurant.

First visit back in a little while, service still great and food fantastic. Still my number 1 in Walton.

Fortunately, I just hope I lived near Khao Sarn restaurant so I can take away everyday. This restaurant had been suggested by my colleague and sometimes we had dinner together. F
Pity I didn't have the camera with me as it was pretty both inside and out. There are many types of Thai food, price is not expensive,food and service are superb. The ambience inside is so comfortable and feel relaxed

In my opinion, i think this is the best Thai restaurant that i have never seen before.

Nice food but the time given per table is 1 and 20 min so not good to see a friend.very pushing and rude staff .interested only in taking your money and kick you out.

Beautiful food. We had the vegetarian set menu which was good value for money.

This restaurant has awesome service and tasty meals. The best place around town. The drinks and food came out quick and the rates are economical. Will definitely recommend this spot.

Atmosphere and service is outstanding. Medium sized restaurant with lovely decor. Food was very good however, having visited Thailand I feel the food in this restaurant was slightly sweeter and less spicy which I assume is to cater to the local customers. Still, I would definately visit again. Well worth a visit.

We visited this eve for our wedding anniversary . And all I can say is we will definitely be back . The staff are polite and really friendly . As for the food my goodness it was amazing so tasty and the smells from all the spices is out of this world. My only criticism is its situated net to a pub and the night we went they had a live band on and you couldn't really make out the background music in the restaurant. I know it's called background music for a reason but It would be nice to hear it to complete your dinning experience but on the whole I would give this place 10 out of 10 will return and will def make use of the uber seats option in the future

Actually ordered the food through deliveroo. But it came quickly and is delicious. The portions are appropriate size for good food and all the flavours are clean and deep. Really great.

In my personal opinion/experience this is not only the best Thai food in local area but the best I've ever had. Wonderful fresh flavours, with each dish clearly different, unlike so many who seem to use same stale basic ingredients.

Service so bad we have had to walk out twice. Gave them another chance after the first time but it was worse. Used to be fantastic but are now prioritising the Uber eats delivery over the restaurant customers. Had to leave without food after a 2 hour wait. We are not the only locals that have realised this either. Shame as used to be good. Book another restaurant for later so you don't go hungry.
