Perfect place for a peaceful getaway. Facilities are gorgeous and totally feel like the quaint Italian village-style that s described. Breakfast is hot and does the job, but isn t so amazing as some of the reviews state, but it does give a hot egg dish, tasty potatoes, a hot pastry dish, and some fruit, granola, etc. There is no restaurant but room service provides decent small plates like charcuterie board and wood fire pizzas. Nightly wine tasting is great. Average age of patrons here is >=50. DOG FRIENDLY: We brought our Shiba Inu and there was plenty of grassy area to walk him and let him do his business however beware of TICKS. They sit atop the high grass and twigs. The hotel also provided him with a huge bed and food/water bowls. Our Grand King room was spacious, with a jet tub that we used every night. SPA:The warming pool and spa are gorgeous. I got the eclipse massage and it was one of the best massage experiences ever - top notch spa materials. DINNER: They host guest chefs sometimes for a fine dining dinner we participated in one and it was delicious, would recommend if you get to reserve a seat. Overall experience: beautiful, peaceful, high quality exactly what we needed but verrrryyy expensive even for what you get. Sebastian, one of the guest associates, is great.

Not luxury. We paid for a top notch boutique and got an average hotel. Service was terrible, we bought wine and they left it with us to open. Then charged us for delivery. Honestly, I'm not sure they ever trained their staff. Breakfast okay, but we heard tales of the prior owners having a grand feast and far better service. Kunde Winery (next door) even confirmed this place went downhill with new owners. If you do stay, get a basic room. We made the mistake of going for the best room, not sure if charming or in need of love. Either way, not "luxury". Look at the Fairmont closer to town, I'm sorry we didn't.

Cool place. We were glad we stayed there. In some ways it was more Italy than Italy itself. Great views if you're up high enough. A little road noise and some age on the bathroom was our only complaint.

The staff here is great so far. I'm here on my honeymoon with my wife and the grounds are fantastic. The larger hot tub has the footprint of a small pool and is right below our room. Towels available next to the pool and spa area. Complementary mimosas for breakfast. Beds are very comfortable, shower is huge, and we have a Jacuzzi bath tub in our room. The only negative (which isn't a problem for us in the length of time we are staying) is that the room has no tv. Everything else is perfect

This was one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. Large Beautiful rooms with fireplaces . The grounds are amazing. The pool is heated so you can actually swim. The breakfast that they had was delish. Close restaraunts and vineyards. We didn't have time to enjoy the spa treatments but we are looking forward to coming back and we will definitely try it then. Oh and a nice happy hour from 5 - 6 with different vineyards bringing in their wines. You will not be disappointed.

Often hotels do not live up to their online pictures. But this place was incredibly beautiful. Here for my 50th birthday I wanted something memorable and fantastic Kenwood clicked all the boxes. This will be our new yearly stop.

Exceptionally well appointed rooms with a super comfortable bed, nice gas fireplace, and balcony overlooking the pool with a small table and chairs, perfect for appetizers while sipping on a glass of wine. I loved the included breakfast and the evening wine tasting.

We had issues with our door shutting. They said they would have maintenance look at it in the morning. That never happened. We had people above us stomping all night and again at 6am. They said they could move us to another room and it would be ready in an hour. Turns out 4 hours later it still isn't ready so basically we can't even be in our room until an hour after check in time. Staff here is awful. Skeleton crew they don't care and the door is still not shutting. The shower is clogged and the sink clogs up too not a great start to the holiday season that I wanted

Charming quiet small boutique hotel with rich Spanish mission architecture style, nestled just beside the main road overlooking the winery estates across the road. Offers spacious room equipped with fireplace and free wine tasting session for the guest in the afternoon. It s a perfect place for romantic gate away or for those looking to spend a quality time.

Ok so I stay at alot of nice places all over the world or did before the Rona. Kenwood Inn & spa has got to be one of my new favs. It's got all the beauty, large room space, out n indoors decor, service and breakfast you could ask for as well as their own lil vineyard and garden (nothing cooler than edible decor but where this places stands alone and above all the others is in their amenities. Things like slippers to go with your robe, Bose/ Sony CD stereo that has a house Disc playing when you arrive of all the best romantic songs (nice touch) fireplace, chaise chairs, outdoor patio with real furniture. But the kicker has to be the flash light and picnic basket. Pretty much anything you might need to tule around the area day or night. The pool with it's massaging waterfall really hits the spot. Also a sweet worth mentioning as well is the personal Kenwood branded chocolate confections they leave on your bed for birthday peeps. Oh did I mention the free wine n cheese plate in the mini fridge in your room?!
Ok so basically I love this place and if you don't then your not worthy anyways so if you don't check them out while visiting the area then it's totally your loss.

This property is absolutely beautiful, picturesque...

This property is absolutely beautiful, picturesque, and much better looking in person. It's a dream wine country weekend get away. The rooms were very comfortable, the fireplace worked perfectly (it does get very cold in this area) and the attention to architecture detail throughout the property goes without saying.

I do have 2 complaints, however.

Food....... Lack thereof.....

This property is VERY remote. The nearest city is Santa Rosa (a good 25-30 minutes away). Ubereats and Doordash do not deliver anything to this area (I tried). If you want "in room dining", the ONLY thing they offered were paninis and Salads. I had a MUCH higher expectation of "variety" when it comes to food in a property this Boutique and glamorous. I was expecting a choice of steak, pasta, anything but a measly sandwich and salad. It's hard to enjoy a couple of glasses of wine here because at some point you do have to drive to get real food and it's not around the corner, it's a good 30 minutes away. This was a major let down.

My 2nd complaint was Sam, the afternoon Receptionist. He wasn't entirely rude to us, but his lack of welcoming us, saying hello, acknowledging us, can be sensed. I felt like we were a burden or he felt bothered every time we approached him with a question or an inquiry. His replies were very cut and dry. I paid $1,000 to stay here 3 nights and i refuse to let his lack of welcoming customer service skills go unnoticed. It's not hard to do. But we can totally tell and sense his energy wasn't all there, almost like he hates this job lol. We had to figure out a lot of stuff on our own.

My wife and I stayed here towards the end of September. The service was excellent. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. It's romantic, quiet...just what you would need to get away from the noise. And the location is wonderful.

Tuscan villa in Sonoma with lush grounds (flowers, arbors and fruit trees everywhere, plus spectacular vineyard views, and fountains and fireplaces around every corner) with a great pool/lounge area and separate large hot pool. Staff was very friendly and attentive. There isn't a full service restaurant but daily wine & cheese happy hour and a lovely breakfast buffet nonetheless. Room/suite was large with jacuzzi tub and gas fireplace. No kids and no TV are also pluses.

We stayed for our anniversary this weekend and what a wonderful time we had! The staff was phenomenal! I enjoyed all the special touches and attention to detail! The breakfast was excellent and the thoughtfulness to give us a bottle of water on check out was beyond our expectations. I can t wait to come back.

Such a wonderful place with a great location just outside of Santa Rosa between Kenwood and Glen Ellen! The all night pool and hot tubs (especially the fountain) are great for night owls and the comfy beds welcoming. Just don't stay up too late, because you won't want to miss their breakfast. Their local wine tastings introduced me to my favorite winery, too!

We were not thrilled by their breakfast, or lack of, first, but the very nice general manager talked to us and the next morning the breakfast was so great. Best location, different happy hour experience every afternoon from 5pm to 6pm at the pool. The best is 24 hour hot tub.

Pictures look better than it looks. Over price for what this is, the hotel is next to a busy road and unless you have a room at the beach of the complex, you will hear the cars. Fortunately we were able to change room feeling we were upsetting the crew by asking??? They said they will move our baggages and didn t and I literally had to do it!!! What a joke. The fire place is old and doesn t seem to go off. The mini bar makes noise is looks off in the room (weird light at night), the AC is very old and the noise from it was worst than a washing machine, tiny window in the bathroom making it dark and unpleasant. The breakfast was a very interesting experience, they had no toasts.. and when you ask, the chef seems to be upset. Like what hotel doesn t have bread?? Why do you bring us Jam or butter? For the coffee? I also had to serve everything from the platter to the table myself. What a shame... What a terrible experience - do not recommend.

Delightful location for a weekend getaway. We munched on the delicious cookies, played board games by the fire in the courtyard (their Scrabble game contained all 100 tiles as expected), relaxed at the pool, and enjoyed the spa. We ll definitely be back. ^_^

If you were to choose one place to stay and enjoy ...

If you were to choose one place to stay and enjoy all the splendor of Sonoma Valley and Wine Country Kenwood is that place. Service is of the highest caliber I have ever had, they go out of their way to make sure your stay is exquisite, and always put the customer first. Any of you out there considering a honeymoon, celebration, romantic get-away, or luxurious retreat should look no further than Kenwood Inn and Spa. Their concierge, Eric, knows more about the wineries and activities in the area than anyone I have ever met. The staff is refined, courteous, and puts you first in all regards. I would hope everyone has the chance to experience this place at least once in their life as they genuinely care that you have an exemplary experience and go out of their way to ensure this. Their general manager, Heike, exemplifies these qualities as well. You can see in every member of the staff that they are there to ensure you cherish your time at their inn and spa. Well Done! It is well worth cost.

Since we live close, we knew we had lots of choices, but are so happy we chose Kenwood. Simply a gorgeous spot, but probably most of all, amazingly helpful and friendly staff Marcia, Tyler, Kyle, Sam, and spa employees (so sorry if we can t remember the names of everyone). We had originally planned to visit wineries and play elsewhere during the days of our stay, and eat out at several other restaurants but because the whole Kenwood experience was so wonderful, we decided to stay as close to the property as possible, and we don t regret that decision at all.

My husband and I are both in service industries, and believe me when I say we KNOW service when we see it. We were served and treated beyond our expectations and by simply everyone who greeted us at Kenwood. Thank you for going over-and-beyond and making our stay such a memorable one. It is pure joy to be served by people who love their jobs and enjoy what they do!

WE WILL BE BACK!!!

I really wanted to like this place. But the airco in the room we were in stopped working during the evening. By the time we realized it was too late? for them to send a maintenance person and instead they brought a box fan to blow some cold air across the bed. Not what we expected for the price. Also: the box fan was actually a space heater so obviously of no use to cool the room! Disappointing to say the least. Now all of this during covid times so that might have affected the service level. As soon as we went to sleep the front desk called us telling us to evacuate because of fire danger. But that s not their fault. I hope this beautiful hotel will not be damaged on the fire and that we can get a nice discount for another visit so we can try again.

We have been visiting the Kenwood Inn and Spa for ...

We have been visiting the Kenwood Inn and Spa for ten years, and remember what a completely elegant place it was. The rooms were lovely, the restaurant was excellent - you could have breakfast and dinner there , and the wine bar was welcoming, well stocked and the perfect prelude to dinner. Notice I said "was". This year was our 10th visit - nobody bothered to tell us that the restaurant was closed or that the amenities would be so scaled back as to seem like no amenities at all. We had invited our children to join us there for dinner and THAT was when we learned that the restaurant was closed. (side note: the previous year when we visited, the restaurant was closed for renovations and due to open in May 2016).
When we spoke to the concierge, the response was "bear with us, this is new". Also, the real killer "we're sorry that you feel that way." In my opinion that means "your problem, not ours". The time to inform us of the new management and change in offerings would have been when we booked our room. Anything else seems unethical. When we booked, nobody informed us of the ownership change and the amenity change. Even the spa was scaled back. We have never minded paying a lot to come to such a beautiful location in wine country, but this was so much less in the way of meeting expectations that we had to speak out. We won't be returning to Kenwood Inn. Maybe it will be a fine b&b, but the problem for us is we remember when it was an exquisite Inn, geared for service to it's patrons.
We are now looking for a different place to stay when we head up to wine country.

The Kenwood Inn and Spa is an absolutely beautifu...

The Kenwood Inn and Spa is an absolutely beautiful hotel and the grounds are immaculately kept. My husband and I had our wedding at the Kenwood Inn three years ago and the property has since been sold and is under new management. The new management has done a lot of renovations and in some ways I think the renovations are good, but they also took away a lot of the warmth of the place. There is minimal staffing now and the rooms are cold . The warm Italian pictures, warm wood furniture and area rugs are gone. The furniture is nice and everything is very clean and paintings have been replaced with a flat screen TV, but the warm pictures are gone and there is no area rug just a cold polished concrete floor. There are gas fireplaces and overall unit for temperature control but the rooms are loud and cold without an area rug. We could easily even hear people walking back-and-forth in the ceiling above us even through earplugs at night (the people above were not being particularly loud it s just there is no insulation with no area rugs). The overhead wooden light fixture was missing it s shades so that we were looking at bare but not decorative bulbs. While the shower was nice, the cabinet under the sink was missing drawer pulls and the ones that were there were loose. There wasn t really anywhere to put your toiletries because the side shelves were falling apart. It is Fall and where the Kenwood Inn used to have pumpkins, warm welcoming signs and wooden entrance tables with fresh flowers, now the only decorations you see in pictures taken are pictures that were taken prior to this management. There are there wooden stands or welcoming signs with flowers (just a single leaf in a vase). There were no pumpkins or garland anywhere. While the employees we met were polite, guests do not get that bed and breakfast feel that made the Kenwood Inn so fantastic before. And while the breakfast buffet was good, it was not at the level that it used to be. They used to offer you cappuccino or a latte with fresh made coffee and would take a custom order of eggs or sausage for your breakfast along with a buffet of food you could pick from. Now there was no one greeting you and the single hostess cleaning off tables would not even make eye contact. There were no greeting of good morning or can I get you anything? . While the hotel is still very nice, the rooms are outrageously expensive (our simple room with only shower and no bath -keep in mind this is a spa) was $500/night. To splurge for that level of hotel, our expectations are higher. We were very disappointed and will likely not go back until they ve had a few years and see what direction they take in the future.

Every time I stay at this place, it feels like I am a world away, in some Italian village. Very good service, great massages, superb breakfasts. A very, very romantic setting. Just moments from the various local wine tasting rooms, right at the respective wineries, among the vineyards. There is not really a place to go for a walk or a hike, but such places are only about 15 minutes away by car.
