Kempinski Palace Portoroz Review

Historic hotel built in a beautiful position overlooking the sea. Clean and equipped with a very small spa, yet we were lucky that there were not many people so we could relax with a sauna and steam room. Friendly staff, very spacious room with nice view. I give them the 5 stars for the most important thing I look at when I go to the hotel: THE BED AND HOW IT SLEEPS! here we slept very well, almost like at home. Bravi! Usually we find it very hard beds. We will return and recommend it for sure!

Very nice hotel, room was great, staff was nice, unfortunately only English so we could not use everything as everything is described in English, except the evaluation sheet was in English and German ...
But what I have to say the Slovenians are generally very rude or arrogant, I do not know exactly how to describe it, you could smile as you wanted there was nothing back.
Which was a joke though, I wanted to buy a scarf at the hotel's boutique, which I was denied.
The lady of the boutique has patterned us from top to bottom and then said: "No" I can safely buy something at the bottom of the shopping street but not with her ..
So we are neither neglected nor badly dressed nor anything else, I have never felt so stupid as in this situation.

Unique and fantastic experience, the magnificence of the structure, situated in front of the sea with its beautiful garden and park. Extra large rooms, almost like having to use the phone across the bed. Breakfast to say the least sensational, you can wish for anything. Top class restaurant. Friendly and qualified staff. Try it at least once in your life !!!

My wife and I spent 1 week at Kempinski and basically I would want to give 6 stars, though only 5 possible. That does not mean that we were all 100% OK, but the response of the hotel to our complaints and special requests were so exceptionally good that only a maximum of positive rating comes into question. Specifically, we complained about the sauna area because of noisy children and when we came into the room was a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates and a letter of thanks for the helpful review. We really did not expect that. When I asked at the reception for a lactose-free version of Nutella, the chef was asked to create something I would try the next day and was surprised that the taste was better than the original Nutella. That was extraordinary! I have also informed the front desk and on departure I even got the recipe and a glass to take away. To summarize, you can feel that the hotel in terms of meeting the wishes of the guest in a separate league plays, which is not comparable with other hotels. I also had the impression that especially at the breakfast buffet only the absolute top quality is served and that great efforts are made to deliver top quality. In addition, I think it's great that Kempinski has breathed into the old Palace Hotel life and the old building is a hotel again. I wish the hotel that it can maintain this exceptional standard and that it is visited by guests who value this quality. Of course, the prices are not low, but given the performance for me absolutely justified.

Very nice hotel complex with poor services. Let me clarify: if you come to a hotel, you would expect a sign saying 'The lobby/reception is to the left/right'. Well, Kempinski Palace offers rooms for 125 EUR/night but they fail to direct their guest to appropriate locations within their complex. I urge you not to assess hotels from an emotional point of view,but from a functional point of view.

Hotels restaurant is understufed so breakfasts are not so pleasant as hotel itself.

Great hotel with a luxury facilities! Breakfast, accommodation, swimming pool and location are very good! The only thing I would say about management who decides to give only one young girl to service all guests in the swimming pool area. She was running and smiling nonstop and i was started to worry about her.... I would like also to share my opinion about cocktails in the bar at the balcony with a sea view! It was amazing!

Iconic building, ideally located. Very classic. When it comes to food variety and quality this hotel is as good as an average middle class hotel. Services and requirements eg coffee making equipment to the room cannot even be requested. Neither an iron - they force you to use their cleaning. 9 /shirt later and you will see, you better have it done yourself. I missed a turn down service, as well docking stations for e devices. Air condition doesn t go below 20 degrees so it is always pretty warm. Service doesn t pay attention, they are slow in removing empty plates and the espresso you get is always cold when at your table...

Beautiful hotel, good service, friendly staff. A wonderful night bar, with pleasant romantic music. Pool with comfortable deck chairs and a nice swimming pool. A few restaurants. The only complaint is insufficiently illuminated entrance to the hotel.

I like the landscaped surroundings, they just planted new grown trees.

The former Palas is at the very top and is now a nice hotel and a garden with a swimming pool. But the new part is not my taste, and if it belongs to better hotels. For me, it does not fit with the old Palas, this new part is all of glass, inappropriate with the old part. I think architects have missed the topic as designers.

As always perfect. From the front desk to the front desk to the bar just 100% so you want a top hotel. Room location and view are a dream anyway.
We enjoy the next days and like to come back

Unfriendly at some point rude staff, some of them do not even speak Slovene language. Location does not compensate overall experience. Would not recommend to others.

A hotel I always like to visit. Well maintained, great rooms. Great beds good breakfast central location. Good pool area. Friendly always helpful staff.

We just came for a glass of champagne on the summer terrace. The service was extraordiarily friendly so we had a couple more and ended up having dinner.

As for the complete offer, rating 10! Top quality food ... Varied selection of drinks!

Il mare Adriatico ma la parte di Slovenia. Adriatic Sea, but from the side of Slovenia. Went there with a presentation of Italian coffee. Portorose is empty. But entrepreneurs are preparing for the new season.

!!! WARNING / ATTENTION !!!

First of all, I would like to say that my stay at the Kempinski Palace Hotel was very enjoyable and a positive experience. From the service to the delicious breakfast buffet, nothing could have been better. However, I have one point of criticism that reduces the rating to "only" 4 out of 5 stars.
At check-in, I had to have an intensive discussion with the hotel employee regarding my room preference. I had urgently asked for room 420. This wish could / would not be granted to me. When I accepted the hopeless situation I found myself in, my second choice, room 69, was also denied. In both of these rooms I had very memorable evenings in my previous stays, which I will keep in my heart forever.
I sincerely hope that I will get access to my coveted favorite rooms again on my next stay.

Every so often a shot of life is needed and in a 5 star you can go .... Fantastic breakfast

It's really huge and beautiful hotel. There are two buildings of hotel. One is original from 1910, the second one is modern with swimming pool and sauna (built from 1990 to 2008). I recommend to visit The Crystal hall (see my pic).

Dear Sirs, since we received your answer to our comment, I would like to inform you more and let me know. The first thing I can notice is that you are not a person who works professionally, because such excuses and answers do not fit anyone who leads this hotel. Secondly, if the rooms of the same quality are for you, are all the guests in the new section? Thirdly, if you already have such a heating system, why do the heaters do not seem to have such a hotel visually and is still very cold? Fourth, fine if the deposit is 200 euros, but why did you, as a person who managed the hotel, decide to spend a hotel tanning from 17:00? That was my question? We visited many hotels but to capture money on the one hand and on the other hand disable us to enjoy your services? So where is the logic, we could spend that money out of the hotel before 5 pm. Parking in a row, it's just by us too big a price for parking out of season. Fifth, we never asked the master to make you a bite for real meat, but we said that your kitchen was dirty and used a flat plate to bite the eggs that previously battered bacon, which is not the standard if I want a omelet with cheese. Good You know what we're talking about. All the rest was our good will to give you constructive advice because we love the history of the hotel and we know what this hotel deserves especially when we follow the chain of your hotels. So, dear sir, do not give us such answers because we did not say that or write to us, but if for some personal reasons it is a good assessment, then here is 5. We do not matter if it is not realistic, we will continue to come because we love the region and that heat nature around you. We want you a lot of success, but also that guest visions should be a stimulus for you to be better, to see where you are wrong and not to defend yourself and spin. Thank you for everything, you have 5 of us because you have convinced us that you are always right, only we are sorry that you will never reach the maximum because it matters to you what you think and how you represent things, so that we do not matter to you.
