I was looking forward to having a pool built for my grandchildren. So i looked into KB pools, however all i have to say is Stay as far away from KB Pools as you can. Never picked up the phone when I called. Does not put any customer as a priority.

We were very pleased with the design process. We talked to 3 different companies, and KB Custom Pools was the only contractor that delivered 3 different designs after the initial visit. That allowed us to pick what we loved and hated about each design so the 4th and final design was exactly what we wanted but maybe hadn't even considered before.
Putting in a pool with KB Pools was an awful experience! Our pool was complete just over a year ago but we have had to file multiple warranty claims that still have not been addressed. One major warranty claim being a giant hole in our pool plaster that is leaking rust. Mr. Barnette claimed that simply patching the hole would fix the problem. However, the owner of the pool plaster company inspected the oddities and informed us that the reason we were seeing rust is because there was a hole in the gunite and the rust was from the rebar. He stated the patch would not hold for long. Even with this knowledge, Mr. Barnette refuses to fix the problem and less than six months later, the patch did not hold. KB Pools has still not addressed a large hole in our less than 2 year old pool.
In less than 1 year, we have had to replace the pool pump, 3 out of 4 lights, resurface our deck, and replace the remote to control our pool settings twice. We also have several tiles on our spillway that were installed shattered and KB Pools has refused to fix those as well. Every warranty claim has been a fight and nothing is ever addressed. We have had to report KB Pools to the Better Business Bureau more than once now unfortunately.
I would not recommend this company at all!
Already locked into a pool builder, but Bo called me on a Saturday and spent 30 minutes talking to me on his dime to ensure I m being steered in the right direction. There are not many people like that any more !

We love our pool! We started the process of searching for a builder last October and I am so happy that we selected KB Pools! They officially started to dig January 26 and we were filling up on Mother s Day! Bo and Ken were responsive and truly care. There were the normal snags of weather and contractor timing that you re going to run into with any outdoor project, but, they communicated with me through the whole process when I reached out. Bo and Ken spent time working on ideas to make our grotto perfect all while we were able to swim all summer! Each time I would talk to Bo he stressed the importance of us loving the final product and that they would make sure we got to that point! We definitely did!
I also have to point out that as the pool girl I am so happy with the equipment and ease of use! The system that they installed has been very user friendly and made my job of keeping up the pool easy considering I have never had a pool before!
Lastly, we love our cabana and outdoor kitchen! We were looking for one company to do it all and found just that!

Caveat emptor. I assume you all are adults so you can make your own decisions. But I wanted to share my experience with you. I value referrals and other's experience above all else when researching something online.
I purchased a home in 2016 that had a pool built by KB Custom Pools in 2014. Only 2 years old at the time. At that time, the option to purchase the transferable warranty on the pool did not seem to make sense to me, especially given the cost. It's only 2 years old. Boy did I learn the hard way. Shame on me, I guess, for thinking that it is unlikely that a relatively-new pool would have structural/plumbing issues.
In July, I received a water bill saying I had used 83,000 gallons! No way, I thought. Check the meter. They did. Not the meter. Ugh. I was out of town and did not return until mid-September so the water just kept on running.
After I returned home and started looking around, I finally figured out where the auto-fill shut off was for the pool. Turned it off and it immediately started losing water. To the tune of 3 inches per day. So I dug out the paperwork on the house to figure out who built the pool. KB Custom Pools. I tried to contact them with the number on their website. Invalid number according to the message. I sent a contact message via a form on their site. To be fair, Bo contacted me the next day and apologized that their number didn't work.
I explained my problem. He remembered the pool. His very first response after that was "I don't recall seeing a warranty transfer for that pool". Uh oh. Not a good start. I asked if he could check it out and see if they could figure anything out. He said he would send somebody in 2 days due to expected rain.
On the 2nd day, someone did show up from KB. The first words were "Wow, you have a serious leak." Then "We need to drill holes and insert a scope to see what is going on." Then, "I need to go back to the office and look at pictures."
And that was it. No further contact. I had to pester them to get a response. And the response I got was, "You have a plumbing leak." And then some more about the cost of leak detection and possible repairs and no warranty, etc., etc.
And that is it. "Sorry and good luck."
A product that should last for decades and it fails after less than 3 years. I have owned 5 pools and never had this happen. Almost every one of my neighbors has a pool and none have had any problems with movement or other "soil-related" concerns.
The lack of concern about the product/service for customers, both current and inherited, is what surprises me the most. I don't expect free repair. But I would like to think a company/owner cares about the people.
You can tell a lot by how companies respond to the negative situations. I share my experience with you only to give you the facts of what happened to me and to encourage you to think about the what-ifs. Those things that shouldn't happen, but if they do, how does this company handle them.
I respect the nature of warranties and the businesses that have to honor them. Things happen. But in this situation, it is much more likely that this is a design/installation issue. Poor construction. So that is the message here. While the normal business practices may have been followed, there are clearly issues with construction and with how you are valued as a customer after that last check has been written.
In my case, KB Custom Pools did not handle it well, did not help me, and is not a company I would ever do business with in the future. How you proceed is up to you.

George ( Bo) Barnett, Kenny, and the entire crew, work tirelessly to ensure your custom pool for your custom house, fits your needs and lifestyle. From the personal visits to your plot, and the endless fights had with the city, Bo and his team do whatever it takes to ensure you get what YOU want. If you have not had the experience of a 3D virtual tour from some of the other pool contractors, then you are not getting your $$ worth. Great guys, great experience, great service. KB Custom pools is money well spent!!
Excellent Pool Builder, they completed the project on time. The owner Bo Barnet assisted me years later with replacing one of my expensive LED lights through the warranty program. I would used this company again for future pool builds.

We interviewed several pool companies and ended up asking two custom pool companies for their design(s) / pricing. We have had our KB pool for 3 years now. It is beautiful and low maintenance. The team did great job on the pool and patio design. The best part is we have had zero issues. In fact, the only issue we had was this week when a capacitor fizzled out on the pump. I pinged KB online, got a response from Bo in <5 minutes and Ken (who is the nicest guy on the planet) was out to fix it the very next morning. You rarely find service like that. Nice work KB.

We had an existing pool built by another builder who used inexpensive materials that did not stand up to normal wear and tear over 3 years. Bo and his team replaced our pool coping with higher quality materials and did an outstanding job! The work was completed quickly and economically, for a first class outcome. We even messed up some caulking by letting our dogs walk on the coping before it had fully cured, and Bo quickly took care of it at no additional cost. We used KB Custom Pools to build 2 pools 5 years apart. Our most recent pool was the summer of 2017. Bo listened to what we wanted and designed a pool for our yard that fits perfectly. The build process went well with very few hiccups along the way. We would use KB Custom again.
Talked at length on the phone with "Bo" set an appointment, I phoned to confirm on the day of the appointment, no answer, left a message, no return call, and a no show! Finally got ahold of "Bo" an hour after the no show appointment, he says he remembers the phone call, didn't write us down, just forgot!? Competely unprofessional!
