Great place. Clean, friendly, best pizza so far. I have a suggestion for your margherita pizza..dont use the regular tomato sauce at the bottom..just use fresh tomato slices on the top...it would make it look fresher and greener....

Arguably the best pizza I've had. Smith's in voorheesville is very good, defazio's in troy is good as well. I say Kay's is the best, kinda tight fit inside the restaurant and it's usually very busy, but the pizza is awesome.

Sorry I just don't understand the allure of this place. I've tried it several times thinking maybe I caught them on a bad night but I guess it's just me. If you think this is the best pizza in NY, clearly you haven't been south of the Tappan Zee bridge.

Multiple people who dont know each other talk to me about how they drive miles out of their way for the pizza. Maybe a victim of high expectations, as I found it just okay. The cheese was great. Everything else is a shrug. You should still try it if you're around, though. People seem to love it.

Can't ask for a better location. The gentleman hosting has a talent for getting a long line of patrons sat on a cold rainy spring day. The pizza is unlike any other mom and pop. Similar in style to pan pizza from Pizza Hut, as a less than adequate comparison. The wings were great as well crispy and not over or under fried. I get what makes this place an institution. Check it out.

If you are reading this review I assume you know how good Kay's is and if not go now! They have some of the best pizza around and I have tried a few. It is original yet still a great pie. The whole experiance from beginning to end is unique.

I've heard so much about this place that I thought I would try it myself. The the pizza for my liking was mediocre at best. Too doughy and cheesy. Similar to an old style Pizza Hut pizza or a Freschetta rising crust. Non descript sauce. Canned mushrooms-seriously?
The cheese curds were a total disappointment. Add to it the insanity with parking it is an experience I will not do again. On the plus side the wait staff were very polite and smiling.

Not as great as everyone said. Was a little disappointed. Pizza was good but not amazing like everyone says. Would have said 4 stars if we werent rushed out of there and didnt have people standing next to our table waiting for us to leave. That really made me made. I drove almost an hr to get rushed out of our seats. I have never seen the check and take out boxes brought out so fast. My brother loves this place and he wasny happy about this either. Plus no free refills..nah

Been coming here my entire life. The current owners have made tiny adjustments to operations in a great way, but have kept turning out the same great food in an incredibly unique atmosphere. Unlike anything you have ever experienced...

This place is always busy-but I completely understand! If you're okay with waiting for a table, and a busy dining space to get some reasonably priced food that is beyond delicious-then this is most definitely the place for you! The food is so good and it's only open for the summer, so everyone has to go get their fill of Kay's!
The staff is always so friendly, prompt and over-all willing to make your dining experience as great as possible. The food is reasonably priced, and I have yet to have something I don't enjoy from here.
Their pizza is always cooked perfectly, their bread sticks come out HOT and fresh, their wings are moist and have the perfect amount of sauce and their desserts are just as amazing.
I pride myself being a pizza connoisseur and this is most definitely at the top of my list during their open season! The cheese on the pizza always does 'the thing' as in the cheese pull, and the amount on the pizza is always consistent. There's ALWAYS enough toppings on their pizzas and you can tell the toppings are fresh as they don't taste like the inside of a fridge, the sauce they use is amazing and fresh-and they manage to also put the right amount on it as well!
Their wings are probably some of the best I've ever had (bone and boneless)-they're still crispy even with sauce, hot, moist and the servings are very generous for the price.
I'm also a carb lover and their bread sticks never cease to amaze me. They are so hot and fresh with the right amount of seasoning and again, have a generous amount of marinara to dip them in.
Don't even get me started on their desserts, their brownie sundae is out of this world-again it's a generous size and was easily shared between 2 adults. The brownie is fresh and warmed up, with what tastes like Stewart's Philly Vanilla on it.
I've never not loved food from Kay's. I'd give it 10 out of 5 stars if it was possible.

Had to check this place out bc EVERYONE I work with recommended it. Only about 20 min outside of downtown Albany, not a far drive but you definitely have to know where you're headed bc there's very little signage until you get very close - The wait was 1h30m and cars were parked almost 1/2 mile away from the actual restaurant down this little road that goes around the lake (we looped back and found closer parking as someone was leaving) bellied up to the bar & we had a beer while we waited outside in the rain, clinging to the porch and hiding in a gazebo, once we got inside I was very impressed by the decor and how many people they had comfortably jammed into this old lake camp! The service was super fast (almost too fast, the centers of both our pizzas were a bit undercooked), and the food was delicious! Friendly and fun atmosphere - we joined into a conversation with the table next to us (the tables are SUPER close together so it was hard NOT to overhear and add our thoughts in!) & My boyfriend elbowed our waitress in the behind, he apologized and then did it again a few minutes later, but in his defense, we had zero room to do anything but sit with our hands at our sides whenever anyone walked by! But we will definitely be back when they reopen in the spring and maybe next time, if the wait is more than 1 hour, well just order ahead and take it home to enjoy there!

My Favorite seasonal place! Pizza is great and they have a decent beer selection. Lines and wait times can get a little out of hand so plan accordingly. The floor is super uneven but really that part of the charm. Also the fishing is great!
