It's old and it used to be that way, but since there is no customer flow, everyone runs into confusion and blocks each other. Each additional person exponentially exacerbates the problem.

The parent company of Karstadt here in Wismar has been preserved fairly well. The steel stairs testify to the past. However, I find it pretty stuffed and disordered inside. At least as a man I have this feeling. Or it only seemed to me because of the Christmas season.

Very nice parent company but the offer was up to 20 years ago.

Well, it goes like this ... Not all product groups in a building complex, as you would expect from such a department store ... Toys for the kids and sports goods / leisure goods are in a separate building (approx. 300m around the corner). There are also not all the goods that belong to such a department store ... There are no children's clothing. The price and the choice of toys is okay - my child found what he was looking for and the wallet was also spared.

A large selection of clothes. Unfortunately, no toy department. What a pity. Because such a real toy shop is unfortunately missing in the city center. Anyone who hopes to find something for children to play at Galeria (Karstadt) will unfortunately be disappointed here. This post has been tracked by me, as Google Maps has provided information that there would be children's toys here. As already mentioned: Unfortunately this is not the case.

If you know larger branches, this is unusually small. No technical department and toys + sports about 50m in another branch.

Karstadt Sport: Good selection, unfortunately children's hats are missing. The staff is not !!! I have rarely experienced such unfriendly things! Grim faces in all employees and annoyed reaction if you have a question or something! I'm still angry and disappointed because as I said the selection of sportswear and toys is very good. When exchanging no money back ... only voucher or other goods. Unfortunately, this is not on the receipt and the questionable staff does not say that either :(

Very nice and old house. The mother house of Karstadt. Right and left of it, magnificently reconstruct old gabled houses.

Very nice and helpful staff. Clean and runs over several shops. Is the first opened Karstadt branch in Germany from the founder Mr. Karstadt.

Stale as you know Karstadt.Toilette without payment is probably not more.

You shouldn't expect a conventional Karstadt with its countless departments that confuses people so that nobody can find the exit. Here the historic parent company (the 1st KARSTADT) awaits the customer, paired with an assortment that is impressive in terms of size. The staff is mostly friendly and has an idea of what is on offer.

As it must be! Friendly advice if necessary, everything on site. Please stay please!

Very small department store with few articles, clothes in larger sizes are in vain. The selection in the cosmetics department is also not really intoxicating.

This department store has only historical value as a founding chalet of Karstadt. It has nothing in common with modern department stores. It seems like a (by luck) long ago time. You do not have to.

The first Karstadt in the world. That is why it is worth visiting, especially architecturally a real gem. The original staircase alone is something that is historically and technically interested.

A Karlstadt department store is always something special ... Always worth a visit.

In itself a very nice opportunity to shop. Here you can almost always find what you need or can be inspired. The products have a high quality and, if they cost a little more, in my experience they are worth their price.
What really bothers me here is the staff. Friendliness is definitely not the top priority and advice could also be less profitable. I don't want to shove all saleswomen together, but so far I've been met with an arrogance that I've never experienced anywhere else. Customers, regardless of their age, who have a problem with their shopping or the like, are treated so insolently and gruffly or even dismissed that one wonders why such a salesperson is ever let go of people. It may sound like an exaggeration, but such staff should definitely be replaced. I don't usually ride around on a thing so extensively, but I know a lot of people who have had similar experiences here. Something like that just can't be. Hence only one star.

Unfortunately, you can almost watch the company's decline here. Partly untidy and unmotivated staff.

You can buy socks there. Otherwise, I think the offer rather rural! This fits so not at the World Open Wismar!

Oh God, what was that yesterday for an experience !!!
My wife and I were yesterday in the men's department to buy something. As we wanted to pay our products, we were on a small note at the old cash register pointed out that a pay only down the ground floor is possible. On the ground floor were then 2 Kassen opened. It formed at each box long lines with customers who also wanted to pay.
We are so disappointed that in such a large department store with 4 floors only in the lower the cash registers are that is an impertinence.
We will not visit the house again.

This is where the Karstadt department store chain started. It may be small compared to other department stores, but it has historical value for that.

Good offer. You also get very cheap items !! Very nice service. It's worth a visit.

One of the oldest store in the city. But variety of products and discounts are not much appreciable.
