Tradition or not. The house is small, the assortment too. Everything looks worn.

Shop assistant was friendly. I also found something and bought. Prices are reasonable

There are still nice staff and good size selection.

Unfortunately, I have the feeling that the fashion in the Karstadt parent company stale and without whistle comes along ... over the years, the offer is getting worse and lagging behind the fashion trends pretty lame

When I'm in Wismar, Karstadt is always a focal point. The building is just great, although the elevator is still the oldest I know;)

"Headquarters, the first" surely there are larger well-sorted stores.
But charm and traditions in the middle of the historic Hanseatic city of Wismar are always worth a visit ...

Well, building interior is not my taste. The staff and the seller went out of their way to help us. Unfortunately there was not the right thing for us.

Even if it is supposed to be the first Karstadt that was built, it is quite small. The stairs are a hurdle for old and young. One of the steps on one floor should be used with caution (trip hazard)
Little choice but ok for the small town of Wismar. The air on the top floor is very stuffy on warm days and ensures that you want to go back down quickly.
What bothered me the most was a situation where children played on the stairs, dropped products and it didn't bother either mother or seller.

Nice if a smaller town like Wismar has a Karstadt. Probably because of the fact that the chain has its origin here.
The prices are fair and you can find almost everything here. Staff is nice too.

Overall, the parent company looks rather traditional and a bit old-fashioned. On the other hand, the old building also gives it a charm that no longer exists anywhere else. The (technically perfect) old elevator is still the one from bygone days and gave me that great stomach tingling even in childhood when it stopped on the desired floor. The haberdashery section is extensive and some treasures can be discovered that are no longer available in other similar stores. It's a shame that there are no fabrics available by the meter at the headquarters. The staff often seems a little like "antechamber", but mostly friendly and competent.
At Karstadt Sport Wismar, the references to incorrect spelling or incorrect spelling in the brand name are implemented very quickly after initial stubborn confessions of innocence.
The regular prices are often a bit higher than in other shops, but you can also get great bargains in the sale area!

Disaster climate in the business. Sticky, musty, heated air. The at "only" 25 degrees outside temperature. Shopping is no fun.

This mark or department store is felt 100 years old you get everything but a renovation is urgently needed. Absolutely no comparison with the markets z. B. in Frankfurt am Main etc.
So dear management let you come up with something even if you are the only department store in the Fuzo. Even the toilets are from the 60s, at least they look and smell like that ...

The clothes shop has a really good etc. but only the expensive brands are represented but it doesn't hurt to buy pants for 100 is bomb quality. It's worth going to the shop otherwise you'll miss something and I don't mean that just believe me
