We had to take the covid19 test. Great organization, you could wait in warm rooms. The staff was extremely friendly and that on December 25th. We had the test result on the same day.

Emergency department empty, nevertheless at least 2 hours waited.

Can only rate this hospital top. Competent staff, great surgeon and professional team. Top treated before surgery, treated top after surgery. Fears were received. As one calls into the forest, so does it resound people. I'm looking forward to the next OP. I hope I will be treated by the same team. Thanks KSW.

I would like to express my big thanks to all the staff who supported me during my stay in the Covid 19 station. Admirable work and organization despite so many daily cases, they were always attentive and cordial when needed.

In the MDZ Frauenfeld, a colorectal cancer was diagnosed on Friday. Registration in KSW. Within the following week until Friday: Laboratory test, CT, consultation with the senior physician and determination of the surgery appointment. The doctor left a very positive impression on me.

The Kantonsspital Winterthur is a great and progressive hospital / hospital. Where people work mistakes occur, that's human and normal. However, I never had such a problem with the KSW, on the contrary. The emergency room in particular is terrific and also helped with my problem after I had simply sent a short email. So I could save costs, time and nerves and I was helped. Honesty and competence, that definitely makes the KSW a good place to go when it comes to health!

Children emergency:
Suuuper nice, competent nursing staff and doctor (was rather quiet at night, when I was there). Was too different ...

Children's station (winter):
Toootal chaotic and overcrowded. Not enough caring at night. too little space for parents / overnight accommodations modest.

maternity unit:
Very well
Sensitive (with 1 exception), competent hebammen.war over 48 hours there.

Postpartum:
Too little staff, this totally dulled, insensitive and burnt out.
Absolutely not recommended !!! For births necessarily in another hospital !!!

Surgery:
Same problem as weekly bed;
Not enough staff. Overwhelmed, unfriendly, many things are forgotten, zero empathy ...

The conditions for patients and presumably also for the staff are partly missbar. This development should be noted and absolutely improved.

Conclusion;

Absolutely NOT recommended

Friendly staff .. Communication between each other (staff) not optimal .. very long waiting times .. did not feel noticed.
My concern was treated superficially. Will bypass the hospital extensively and who can avoid it can no longer be used.

Because of intestinal obstruction with service in the ksw. 2 days wait until surgery. In this time multiple interrogations and ultrasounds of the abdomen and the heart. OP okey. The closure of the wound on the abdomen was only clamped not sewn extremely bad with holes and scarring of the scar.

The birth of our child was exemplary. Very dedicated and motivated employees who take their time and advise. Also, as a patient who does not speak German, it is in good hands (but English is an advantage).

Menu allows choice between 2 - 3 menus, it is quite well cooked (no gourmet clear - but no garbage). Restaurant a little expensive (4 CHF for a 0.5 liter bottle of coke or 0.2 liter of fruit juice) - rather bring your own or bring.

In the rooms of the general insured it is a bit cramped, but soon (2020) is the new bed building finished.

Due to the location of the parking garage, visitors with a car have to adjust to a 5 - 10 minute "walking route" (mostly considered) to the main building and the bed house (parking garage tariff also rather UpperClass, 3-4 hours then cost fast> 10 CHF - you can but pay with card at the machine). Practical: The free rental wheelchairs from the parking garage (top floor).

The 3 person lifts in the bed house are very small, for people with claustrophobia possibly problematic.

I was in an emergency in April. The nurses were very competent and helpful.

Now our family has been cared for with the sixth case in the KSW. Two births to start. From A to Z a wonderful experience and a great service is in our memory. A hernia and an appendix had to be treated by the children. Also here: absolutely professional work all around. No needless waiting, no unfriendly face, just perfect. Then a finger break with complicated surgery as a result. Again a medical achievement. And now a treatment of a disease called Tulanemia, whose diagnosis is just incredibly difficult and in turn was treated by the specialists quickly, cleanly, correctly and simply top notch and is just. The whole thing, from the doctors to the care was terrific. I recommend the KSW to everyone.

Hip arthroscopy performed on the left and right and now, after a long time, I'm finally back on the road without pain. My doctor has always given me very competent advice and he knows his trade effectively. I would definitely recommend him! Despite the hustle and bustle during the Corona period, the staff was always extremely courteous - many thanks for that. A very big thank you also to the nice, young man in the recovery room (Sebastian?) - I rarely laughed like that after a general anesthetic - that makes a lot of things easier.

Yesterday went to the emergency department at the Winterthur Cantonal Hospital. I have to say they do a great job. Have advised me professionally and also helped. Top female doctors, medical assistance, etc. For me one of the best hospitals if not the best in the canton. Take your time even in stressful situations. I feel better too. Thank you very much and keep it up.

Inexperienced assistant doctors, patients with serious illnesses wait hours for the senior physician, unfriendly staff, general restlessness - all in all, poorly trained staff, you feel tremendously, especially with all the wrong diagnoses and incompetent staff.

Mine opinion of the hospital stay was more complete. A hospital with a lot of shortages. Let's start with customer service. Very striking, the lazy attitude of the staff. Disapproval of every call. And last but not least this eternal "I connect you" or "Call you in ten minutes" "Waiting times can take a little longer, in case of an emergency assessment always very incompetent. For example, my wife had bleeding and the doctor refused us cheeky and hard-hearted without an examination. Said it was nothing, and after that she had to abort when she went to the next hospital.

Until you get there you always have the feeling of having to die first. See you then .... then come the room. Very minimally superficial kept clean. All patient rooms / beds smell of urine mixed with disinfectant. If you only come and have to stay because of a broken foot or something small, you smell like after a day's stay like a terminally ill cancer patient. It is due to the cleanliness and the simplicity of everything easy to disinfect mentality than to wash it properly as in the household. You don't even want to talk about the cellar, it looks inside like a waste dump from the waste incineration. Or a closed-off factory. And the way the Operazionssahl looks very, very battered. About like in a corridor of an old scrap car recycling. (Therefore you will probably be stunned beforehand) my recommendation is clear: if you can then please go to another hospital besides this one. And at winterthur hospital I strongly recommend: a second emergency station and the required doctors, and no starved 3-4 emergency doctors over 12 hours. Then have the basement painted. Great days on the birth and postpartum department. Great care and nice interaction. Strict and helpful regulation of visiting hours. Very much for the benefit of the young family.

I had decided on the birth of my first child for the KSW, the midwives did an excellent job, but I found the doctors overbearing and very rude. In the puerperium could be ensured by lack of staff no optimal care (breastfeeding). The benevolent environment for a birth is unfortunately not given in the KSW. Professional appearance of the receptionist and greeting by the MPA. Dr. Hess asked, listened, gave detailed information. The exam was less painful than other gynecologists. All in all a great experience. Highly recommended. I don't like to say it, but with us in the country we lag far behind if this is the standard towards Zurich.

Well: wait 6 hours for bed in the corridor. Begged for a drink of water or coffee. Nothing, absolutely nothing.
Finally after 6 hours 1 liter bottle of water and a sandwich. I almost died of thirst.
Such a lousy, cheap service, and that in Switzerland.
After 6 1/2 hours the long-awaited, necessary treatment in an adjoining room of the emergency room.
That can't be such a long wait without supervision.

Simply pleasantly surprised by the clear, reputable reception solution. Cheerful, friendly people, helpful with no ifs or buts. I was called up for outpatient treatment in the urology and thanks to the accompanying letter including accompanying person was no problem. As I am a wheelchair patient, a hospital wheelchair was brought to me. This time freshly cleaned and mechanically in order, not dirty and rotten as before. So a clear advantage thanks to Carona. Then everything was very seriously prepared in the department, the entire staff attentive and helpful. Just perfect. I am delighted with the KSW. Thank you.

Worst hospital ever !!! Starts with an emergency and ends in the delivery room. From the staff to the doctors to the food, I unfortunately can't find any praise that I could express. A very unprofessional hospital that I cannot recommend any further.

First shock: adults as well as children in the same waiting room.

Conclusion: never again hospital Winterhur

Unfortunately, not even the 1 star is justified. My wife was immobilized with painkillers because of severe pain (herniated disc) in the spine area and sent back home. The appointments for the MRT were only 1 week later, then another 1 week waiting for the results to be discussed and one more week later the surgery appointment ( 3 weeks !! waited under severe pain). After the discharge, it did not take 4 days until it came to dizziness and disturbances of consciousness, as an emergency back to the hospital and there were no measures taken to the problem to get to the bottom of the problem.4 days with painkillers and Assumptions were fed up, (the doctor who had surgery was only seen on the 4th day) and sent back home. From April to December no solution was found and the problem with the dizziness was ignored (appointments with the psychologist were recommended). In December we found finally COMPETENT doctors who found the cause after a few examinations at short intervals. During the operation in the KSW, the nerve tissue was damaged in the area of the spinal column (a hole caused nerve fluid to enter the head and caused over-pressure and dizziness). Luckily we decided to go to a clinic not far away, because there was a 6-hour surgery, the botch fixed (incidentally, were still bone splinters and a break found cause of bungling performed surgery in the KSW). The defective discs were replaced and the spine was fixed and my wife was able to get up again after only 3 days and walk home one week later. The enlargement of the KSW brings nothing, if the specialists are missing and the treatment is so grottenschlecht.NIE AGAIN!
