BPU takes your money but outsources all their services so that when you have an issue, they can claim zero responsibility. My trash hasn't been picked up five weeks in a row... they told me to call 311???

Update: I put out an obnoxiously large sign pointing to my trash and recycling cans. Seemed to work. I guess this is what I have to do to get BPU to do their job?

Additionally: after 2.5 years using the BPU website to make my payments, my login associated with my account suddenly didn't work. Attempting to reset my password, I got locked out. So I paid my bill via phone. As far as I knew, the payment went through, but I just checked my account and not only was the payment not captured, I also had a late fee. It's really cool that I got a negative mark on my credit score because of BPU's trash payment options.

I switched banks in January 2021 and because their automatic draft does not allow me to update the payment checking and routing routing for 3 days, I had a payment return. I switched banks again in March 2021 and the same thing happened. Rather than set customers up to forget to re-enroll in auto-draft, this company sets you up to get returned pmts and late fees. Now, due to 2 returned payments my account will only accept CASH PAYMENTS FOR 6 MONTHS, which was not communicated on my bill.... in 2021 I wouldn't think this kind of treatment would be allowed but I guess I shouldn't expect anything less from a monopoly. I'm so thankful to be moving in August.

Customer service, what customer service! Only voice mail, no returned phone calls, but they are sure Johnnie on the spot when it comes to collection procedures.
Love to see a reply from them, maybe they are staffed by AI.

The worst company ever to use. They are a bunch of scammers. Have not been able to login into my account on line to see how much my bill is for over 3 weeks now have not been able to get anyone on the phone to check my bill. No phone call. Made a payment agreement back in April and have made a payment towards the payment agreement and they still have cut my lights off. This makes no sense that they system be down and than can t get ahold of anyone and they are still able to cut your lights off.

I only give one star because I don't know how to give less- a -10 is not an option. These people are rude and do not care about their customers in the slightest. Worst customer service in history. Why don't they care? Because they are the only game in town for power. If there was another option that was twice as expensive, I'd switch immediately

Obviously we are basically forced to use this company as there are no other alternatives. After fighting multiple battles trying to get my power upgraded we had a water leak in the front yard at the meter which took no less than 10 calls before they came and fixed it. Then once they fixed it they left a large pile of mud in the front yard with no grass seed or straw or anything. I guess this is what You end up with when you live in Kansas?

Never paid anywhere near as much for utilities anywhere else I've lived, and also have never had such terrible customer service from any utility provider. It's bad enough that I would have not moved here for this reason alone.

Most expensive utility company I have ever seen or had to deal with and the customer service is atrocious. I can't even live comfortably in my home because I can't use the ac and have to keep the lights off at all time just to be under $500 utility bill. Have to take cold showers or else they charge you $80-$100 in sewage costs. I'm not some big shot pulling $10k a month I work 9 to 5 at 13. I literally can't afford to have my lights on with this greedy company

I have been happy with my service and the rates are no different than other services. I love that this is not a for-profit operation. When power was out across the midwest, we had power here because this is a small, local utility. I believe they have low ratings because they focus on service rather than image. The service is solid and there is not a cheaper game in town. Plus, we get much more of our power from less polluting renewable sources than any utility around.
